Craig and Deb were both very friendly and gave us great suggestions on places to visit whilst in and around Devonport. On checkout Karen also told us about a number of places of interest for the next part of our holiday. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. No hesitation in recommending the Barclay Motor Inn.

• HoneyvilleTraveler55 (8/5): Comfortable But Older Motel - The Barclay Motor Inn is a comfortable and convenient motel. Parking is free!! The bed was comfy especially with the dual control electric blanket. Although an older motel, the bathroom has been updated. The front door needs to be replaced. The front desk is supposedly staffed from 9 to 5 but the office door was always locked.

• MARK MAKI (9/5): 10/10 for a motel lover - Location close to the main shopping area, 3 minutes drive, yet I can enjoy the jogging on the beach. Kitchenette, washing machine and dryer, a small dining table/work desk, parking right outside your door, satisfying experience for a motel lover. None. Just a dusty fly screen which was immediately cleaned by a super friendly staff.

Parking was right outside the door and we were within walking distance of the beach, shops and restaurants.

Many surfaces were dusty - disappointing that the bedside tables were neglected while the beds were being made up. Disappointing that the swimming pool was closed between 6pm-9am, that would be the peak use time for travellers! Disappointing that only one parking space was allotted for a three-bedroom apartment - please use common sense for number of people travelling!

The location is excellent, only about 10 minutes walk to the city centre and the same to the beach. Comfortable bed, good shower and kitchenette. Friendly welcome too. No complaints at all.

Short walk to the foreshore of bay. Room is quite adequate in size and had all we needed for overnight stay. Bed comfortable. Would stay again if in this area.

The heated I door pool was also well kept and beautiful to swim in, with provided towels! The accommodation was also amazingly well priced!

• 741dellaf (10/5): Great experience - We had an excellent stay at Barclay motor home. Comfortable beds, great shower/bathroom, large SMART TV and a small kitchen quite adequate for 1-2,nights stay. Overall a very good sized area. Very pleasant and friendly staff. Good location near to the river and an easy walk to supermarkets. The area outside was quiet and we were able to sit outside in the sun and enjoy a beer. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend.

Rooms could have been a tad better. - Firstly, we loved the location - close enough to town to get dinner and everyday goods, close to beaches, but still very quiet. In the rooms, the bathroom was very good, as was the overall design of the room. The kitchenette was reasonably large and had pretty much everything we needed. A nice pool on-site if you aren't a beach-type person. The double bed felt really small and were very soft. (I understand that the firmness of beds is a personal choice but, even still, these felt VERY soft.) Only 2 comfy chairs to sit on in a room designed for 3. Would have been nice to have a 2-seater couch in there instead of one of the armchairs. It was a shame that the pool was only opened 9am-6pm. We were a family on holidays - we were out exploring through those hours and it would have been nice to come back in the evening and have a quiet dip in the pool.

Would happily stay here again if we were staying in Devonport again. That our clothes came out of the drier still wet (suspect perhaps another guest opened it before finished) so would have been another $4 to finish. There is a clothes line but with the weather we just ended up hanging around our room to dry.
