Guest Reviews
- Normzy-C-Jr (8/5): Hotel that is perfect for nearby events - Basic but comfortable hotel. Was attending a nearby sporting event and found this hotel was around the corner. Location wise, it's a great hotel with a shopping centre, fast food, transport and convenience stores all nearby.
- Trevor (2/5): - Would not stay again.
- Joseph (2/5): - Clump of hair on fridge, bugs crawling in room. Pillows as thin as paper.
- Darryl (10/5): - Great easy location
Close to hospital and food stores
Train only few hundred meters away
Great food choices on the menu
No room service but could do take aways đ
Clean
Staff very helpful and friendly
Elevator
- Keeli (6/5): - Very basic hotel, expected more based on price
- 773lynsayh (2/5): What can we say ... - The worst experience EVER. Appears rooms are utilized for other "entertainment" as was our experience for 2 nights, abandoning the 3rd. BEWARE Unit 16!! and bags tied to door knobs??? Paper thin walls leave little to the imagination, units in need of upgrade (and clean), food ordinary (who in a professional cooking capacity does not know how to prepare fresh vegetables?). Only positive was the staff in restaurant were lovely. DON'T stay here or if you dare at your own peril.
- Kimberly (4/5): - The profile and pictures for this hotel are the most deceptive I have come across. The photos of the bar, restaurant, gaming area - none of these are a part of the hotel or representative of the caliber of the rooms themselves. These are separate businesses located on the same lot and reportedly run by the same owners. They are modern and slick. The hotel itself seems an afterthought. When we drove up, we actually couldnât find the hotel, and left to drive around the block to find it. On second entry into the parking lot crowded with cars from the bar and gaming room, I spotted a door that said reception amongst the other businesses, and thatâs how we located it. When we approached it, the door was locked. I found someone in the bar who sent someone to check us in. We never saw anyone at the desk again during our short stay. The hotel âlobby,â unlike the other businesses, is dark and dingy, as are the hallway and rooms located above. The room we stayed in was clean enough, but had beds without frames extremely low to the floor and very basic amenities such as I would expect at an inexpensive motel, maybe. Iâm not sure where the photo of the river in their profile came from as the site is nowhere near the river, and we couldnât find a playground as shown in a photo on Expedia. We think maybe this is a picture from the McDonaldâs down the block (they used pics of the other businesses below them after all, so why not McDonaldâs?). Worst hotel of our 3 weeks on the road.
- Wayne (6/5): - Rooms were average. Needs a renovation.
- Mark (6/5): - Parking good, receptionist was pleasant and helpful, for the age of the room was clean. No biscuits with tea facilities, most important the beds were old and very low
- Irene (8/5): - Overall a pleasant experience
- Alan (6/5): - The atmosphere is very nice
- Holly (10/5): - Ok
- Fred (8/5): - This is a low end hotel with very basic rooms, that are ripe for an upgrade. The stairs were worn, and there is a recently updated pub / restaurant downstairs, that we didn't eat in. You need a key card just to get into the lobby and we had to go into the bar to ask where the lobby was. It's not manned all the time, and we had to wait for the bartender to find the receptionist to check us in and give us our keycard. The room was clean and okay. The shower was part of the bathtub. The door didn't fit properly, so it took some work to open and close it. The area is part of a commercial zone and close to major roads, though the room was quiet enough when it came time to sleep. We were pleased to find a room that ended up costing us close to $155 instead of the $300 rooms we been staying in. In the end, it's good value, if you can manage your expectations.
- Marlene (10/5): - Receptionist was friendly, informed instructions clearly stated.
The room was clean, well equipped. No issues for checking out.
- Andy (6/5): - Noisy surrounds and rotten air conditioning
- Brian (10/5): - The shower head in my shower needs replacing as it would still up
- Shane (6/5): Fine for a night or two. - Room had dirty cups that werenât washed properly if at all. Basic accommodation above a pub that is absolutely fine for a night or two. I could hear a couple talking in the room next to me so not sound proof rooms.
- Kira (10/5): Great place to stay - Great comfortable and nice and clean great customer service.
- Kamarlie (10/5): - Good
- Whaan (8/5): - Awesome service and very accommodating as I had a very late arrival. Clean and tidy and just what we needed for an overnight stay.
- P3622MBanthonys (4/5): Below average and overly priced - Well...the big lad at the front was nice. Customer Service - ok
Room- very basic. The bed was nice and right amount of soft and honestly that's all im looking for.
Shower- No hot water! The shower head really should be fixed because there was no hot water and the pressure felt like the head was going to break off the wall. I was in a room that had a bathtub so thats how i took my "shower"
Tv- also broke and the sound not working
Pros- very close to macdonlds and woolworths. Didnt try the restrauant down stairs.
Overall I just needed a place to stay in Brisbane and was fortunate to get a room. They really need to work on fixing things up and updating the rooms.
- Raffaele (10/5): - Location was convenient and the staff were very helpful, not to mention that the food isnt half bad either. Decent things all around!
- Michael (8/5): - Good location
- Anthony (10/5): - I would definitely stay there again it's got everything you need in one place thanks
- Michelle (4/5): - There was about four of us waiting to check in @4pm for at least 20 minutes even though we rang the phone number multiple times and were told someone was coming. Staff member came no apology, room was dirty, smelly and damaged lights and shades and heavily soiled and stained carpet. Would not recommend $270 for a family room definitely not worth it and easy to see why it was available. Did not have much option but to stay here. Wonât be staying again. Apparently hotel had good food but we did not eat here
- erikajJ3683SB (4/5): Downstairs nice, upstairs room unpleasant - Hotel (downstairs) nicely renovated but rooms upstairs very old and run down, shower head kept falling on me, tightend it up, thought I had it, then it dropped on my head.... male staff member was just unwelcoming and came across arrogant, no smile, no hi how ya going!
Extremely over priced rooms for what you get maybe worth $95 per night and NOT what is shown in the pictures. You can't advertise 1 type of room (clean, renovated look with new looking beddjng) and then sell another (old, run down/worn out/uncomfortable) you need to advertise all room standards and price accordingly!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We stayed there as we had no choice . Everything else was fully booked. It was also overpriced for the old room it was
- Sharon (6/5): - Hallway musty - reception not maned but resturant excellent good location
- Marian (8/5): - I had to stay here for work as it was really close to my meetings the next day. The road traffic was relentless all night and there was little sound proofing between the walls of the other rooms. at one point I thought someone was walking in my room, but it was next door, it sounded so close. Despite the noise. It was extremely clean, and super convenient.
- Sam (2/5): - Room smelt of years old cigarette smoke, A/C unit filter filthy (honestly plenty of reviews highlighting this you'd think hotel would have actioned to remedy).
Noisy location, windows do not open, nil fresh air.
At the price point being charged I would never stay here again.
- Laurren (6/5): - Our stay was great we managed to get a room last minute
- Faheem (2/5): - This hotel is absolutely not worth 269 AUD per night. It's a terrible hotel, not suitable for peaceful living at all. The conditions are absolutely terrible â no cleaning, smelly, and bad.
- Emmanuel (2/5): - Yuck
- Geoffrey (4/5): - Bedside lamp broken Cups dirty
TV flickering
- Matthew (10/5): - Second time staying there lovely people and affordable accommodation
- Barbara (4/5): - On arrival at 4pm the reception was difiicult to find, the need to approach bar staff to get attention at the reception only to end up calling a number to get attention at reception.
There was no information provided other than here is a key and put this in the wall to opeate the air conditioner.
After returning from a business meeting at 10pm to the facility there were a number of intoxicated people in the carpark. At the hotel entry with some inapproriate language was another intoxicated man leaving me feeling unsafe.
On departure at 8.00am again no one at reception I had to ring a number to be told just leave the key in the metal box at the reception desk!!
Overall poor experience definately wont go back at $204/night you'd expect a bit more!
- Bruce (10/5): - The staff were all very approachable & friendly
- Alissa (10/5): - Comfortable, basic room. Itâs in a great location with lots of access to shops and food
- James (6/5): - Wish the windows could open in our room, felt stuffy unless turning on the air con.
- KylieLinforth (2/5): Appalling - The room standard was well below what it appeared on Booking.com. The room had a wet smell when we arrived, and evidently it was a leaking air-conditioner that dripped all night and made it very difficult to sleep along with the stench of mould from the wet carpet. Discussed with the duty manager moving to an alternate room and let her know that there was a problem with smell. She claimed there was no other rooms, however a check on the app suggested they were still taking bookings. I attempted to follow up the Manager during business hours about my concerns, however the call rang out. I would not recommend this business for a stay, and Iâve also recommended to Booking.com that they remove it from their platform as the property is misrepresented on the platform.
- mark (10/5): - Great place to stay
- Vory (6/5): - Stuff were good but Aircon was nosy tv was crap
- Jennifer (6/5): - For a pub room it was acceptable. Rooms need a little TLC though. The air con had not been serviced or cleaned for a very long time as the filters were 1/4" thick with dust making it inefficient and unhealthy. Cleaners could be doing a much better job too.
- mark (10/5): - Great feed and friendly staff
- Elliot (6/5): - Nil
- Ricardo (4/5): - Below expectation. the cleaner nearly did nothing asa room cleaning.
- Phillip (6/5): - Electric jug did not work, hair dryer did not work, the only window blind was not able to be retracted, additional power points for electronic devices were needed, WiFi was not advised at check in. No reception personnel were available between 4am and 10am. We were in Room 14 on Thursday 18 January. We would appreciate some compensation. Look forward to your response
- Raylene (4/5): - Room we had was a family room. Plumbing issues, toilet would need the tap turned off each time after use and shower drain was blocked and would not drain.
- Judi (8/5): - Value for money
Good facilities
Good food in bistro
Close to everything we wanted
- Philip (8/5): - No fuss motel for a short visit. Could sometimes hear other residents but not at a disturbing noise level
- Michelle (8/5): Adequate - The room was adequate however the food at the restaurant was shocking!
We had roast of the day. It was cold on the outside and slightly warm in the middle which have us the impression that it had already been pre-served and was just reheated in the microwave. It was aweful.
Nonetheless of you require a bed and a shower the room is adequate.
- Paul (8/5): - The Location is Great for the Logan Hospital, Marden and Meadowbrook Areas. The available parking while well monitored, is in early Morning Sun.
We had two different Room, Room 11 with west facing wall never got cool, even with the AC on Max. Room 18 on the other hand as far as the AC was concerned was excellent.
We will stay there again, provided we don't get Room 11.
Staff at the Accomodation and Hotel were excellent
- JULIE (6/5): - It's close to the shops, Logan Hospital, and the nursing home which my Father resides at. It's comfortable and there is a Pub Bistro downstairs for a meal. However, the lamp in my room was thick with dust, the sheets had rips, there is no microwave, plates, knives and forks in the room and no Netflix on the tele. My coffee sachets were not replenished and the cups could do with a jolly good scrub. Check-in and out was easy.
- Mervyn (8/5): - Aircon in room 10 is. On the blink. Could get it to work properly enough to have a decent nights sleep
- Len (8/5): - it is a old hotel that is a bit tired. the room was acceptable. a very good strong flow shower and tub. fridge was old and didnt seal fully. a/c could have needed a recharge. I didnt eat at the hotel but menu was good.
- Farahnaz (2/5): - Hi there
The meadowbrook hotel isnât satisfactory at all. The why is this hotel is very dirty, without any manager at the reception at the check in and check out time , the air conditioner doesnât work properly and the sheets are dirty as well , after I checked out I got itching up until now .The facility in the room is incomplete for 2 guests. And the price according to these worst conditions of hotel was very expensive . I took the photo of all these bad conditions as proof.
- Janine (8/5): - The room was great but could here the bar noise from my room was over it
- Zac (6/5): - Over all it was okay. The location, while convenient, was noisy due its proximity to some major roads. The bed and furniture was okay, but the air conditioner dripped water non-stop. We put a container under it to catch the water, but the dripping got annoying so we ended up having to turn it off. We told the staff in the morning about the A/C and they said they would get it fixed.
- Stephanie (6/5): - Property was fine as a budget motel. Staff were lovely and it was very clean. The tap dripped all night from the bathroom and the sound of the fan in the bathroom was so intense and unable to turn off. Aside from that, it was convenient as I had an event in the pub downstairs.
- Lyn (10/5): - Surprised how quiet it was considering we were right above the pub.
- Doreen (2/5): - It was outdated and the room smelt like smoke the shower head was broken which caused it to go everywhere and theres no window
- Peter (6/5): - The room was ok but the air-conditioning unit was so noisy and the filters were so dirty it could do with so touch ups but the staff were nice people
- Carmen (8/5): - It was close to where we needed to be.
Showers could have been hottier
- Julie (10/5): - We had a very short stay but our check in was smooth. Staff was friendly and room was clean.
- Joe (4/5): - The room was next to a petrol station and highway, it was very noisy.
- GREG (2/5): - .cockroach on the refrigerator live...the slot machines were going until 3am directly below me. This is not a 3 star hotel!
- Cassie (6/5): - Staff were very helpful. Convenient location after a long drive. Rooms were clean. Only downfall was it was very noisy during the night from traffic and the beds are soo hard.
- Warren (6/5): - Good location, needs updating
For the price itâs in need of some love
- Morne (4/5): - Noisy in morning
- Carol (6/5): - The cleanliness of the room could have been better. Dusty tv cords and splatters on walls and tables/benches not wiped down each day. Rooms look nothing like as advertised, very disappointed.
Making sure everything worked prior to guests arrival would be good, especially as the front desk is not manned.
Coffee and tea provided, shampoo etc also available but there was no microwave or toaster. With no option for breakfast without having to leave the room would this would have been helpful, especially for guests staying more than one night.
The bistro is well presented and has a nice vibe, the food was good though staff are not able to assist with hotel issues after managers go home.
The staff are lovely, itâs a shame the hotel rooms let them down.
- Steve (6/5): - Very over priced!!! Old run down and not a place I would recommend to anyone!
- Carey (6/5): - Every was good only down fall was the shower head it wouldn't stay up nan it was annoying apart from that was a good stay thank you
- christiee280 (2/5): Terrible accomodation - Paid nearly $200 for one night and it was the most TERRIBLE room iv ever stayed in
Shower head wouldnât stay up,no blanket,no bath plug,aircon was poxy,noisy,cold, old,terrible bed
Horrible expensive accomodation
- Warren (10/5): - Good position
Microwave would be handy
Price is a little expensive for what you get
- ron (8/5): - everyone friendly and helpful.
- Pevise (10/5): - I like the location and itâs very clean and private
- Amanda (10/5): - Clean room, good beer and food. Staff were excellent
- Mark (6/5): - Where do I start⌠waited 25 minutes for reception service, the air conditioner was a âpart unitâ and then didnât work properly, the TV had only a few Channels - ALL channel 10 (only) and shower over bath tub.
On the positive side, Andrea was extremely helpful and the renovations to the Hotel since we last visited approx 3 years ago has seen a remarkable improvement. We were attending a nearby function and after waiting 35 minutes for a local taxi, unavoidably took the option of driving
- Nigel (6/5): - It was close to an event
Clean but very basic room facilities and services for the price
- Paul (6/5): - Not as good as the pictures would have you believe
- Gary (10/5): - Check in was easy, good clean room with everything you would expect, good bed, tv, fridge, kettle etc, great hot water in a large bathroom !
My room overlooked a main road, but it was reasonably quiet. The big blind in the window helped to block out the light from the Hotels sign at the front of the premises. Being at the end of the corridor meant that there was little pedestrian traffic up and down the hall. The Hotel is conveniently located across from a small shopping centre, offering Woolies, bakeries, fast food and more.
Win/win situation and I highly recommend the Meadowbrook Hotel as it is only a 25 minute drive to the City centre.
- Alexander (8/5): - Good thank you
- KEVIN (2/5): - On checking not very friendly, the room not clean mildew In the bathroom and no hand rails in the bathroom. I would never recommend the hotel to anyone.
- Jez (6/5): - While I'm ok with a 'cheap and cheerful' hotel, the Meadowbrook wasn't really either. I expected the property to be noisy given the location right on a main road, and being at the front room meant I heard every truck and motorbike during the night.
I will note that the linen was crisply fresh and the bathroom, while quite dated, was spotlessly clean.
The air conditioning louvers were broken off which meant not only did it look unsightly, the air was aimed directly at the head of the bed.
The towel rack in the bathroom had been broken off and not mended or replaced, and one of the sink taps was leaking.
And seriously - at these prices you could offer more than Nescafe Blend 43 as a coffee option.
Some attention to mending broken items and including some niceties such as better coffee and perhaps a box of tissues, could improve the quality of the stay at Meadowbrook Hotel.
- Connie (8/5): - Hotel was what I expected, Last minute booking, so a little pricy for what it is but made do.
- Amanda (10/5): - The pub, beer, staff, security, restaurant menu, bars, and room were all very nice.
- Ann Maree (4/5): - Air con was really noisey, sirens all night, shower hot water had major issues, stains all over carpet, doors being banged all hrs of the night. Couldnât wait to leave to be honest
- anita (8/5): - Although a dated room, bed was very comfortable, lovely towels.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not worth the money I paid for one night $169 - Cockroaches coming out of the wall, very strange smell from having recently been fumigated with a slight tinge of musty
- David (10/5): - Great location, easy access to motorway
Facilities were ok and food in the restaurant excellent
Will stay there again on the return trip
- Luis (8/5): - Good
- Matthew (6/5): - Needs some maintenance on AC, shower and toilet.
- Jan (4/5): - They need to fix the aircon and improve their cleaning also the staff is not that approachable.
- brendan1985 (10/5): Good prices and good food and service - Whilst staying at the Logan hospital after having a heart attack and stroke, I was craving a steak as I had been out of Australia for a year and hadn't had a good steak for a while. They were serving 200g Black Angus rump steak for only $15 . Th steak was juicy and tender and cooked perfect medium rare just how I like it. My kids had the
Chicken schnitzel called, the Meadowbrook frommemory, came with a garlic cream sauce, which was very nice also
- Lynelle (10/5): - Very convenient to Logan hospital
- Peter (2/5): - This property was terrible it was very dirty smelt like wet dog aircon hardly worked and donât be fooled by internet photos what you see is not what you get at all for the price we were charged definitely the worst weâve ever stayed in
- Akal (8/5): - No comment
- Shane (4/5): - Very poorly maintained, staff gave the impression they really didn't care
- Matt (4/5): - Not the best condition room , air conditioning didnât work
- Lynnette (6/5): - Living area was ok, and linen very clean, although we had several cockroaches in the bathroom and drains smelled.
