Guest Reviews
- Amber (10/5): -
- Marija (9/5): Perfect cottage for 4 people
Great location and facilities. - The Snug was clean, well kept with all we needed in a perfect location.
- Conor (10/5): Will be back - Cosy and comfortable Nothing
- Alison (8/5): Lovely place to stay and very inviting. The hosts were communicative and friendly. - The location was terrific. It was nice to be out of the way and not to have Neighbours on top of you. You feel immersed in nature.
All the instructions and communication with the hosts was fantastic. Really easy to find and check in and out.
The beds were comfortable and it was very easy to have a good nights sleep. There was very little basic pantry items when I compare it with other short term stays I’ve had. We had to go grocery shopping to supplement this ourselves eg dishwashing sponge and aluminum foil and glad wrap (there was only about 20cm of foil left and no wrap). To be fair the property didn’t say they would provide but when I compare to other stays, it is perhaps one of the most basic.
The dining table is really sticky. We thought it was just unclean but we cleaned it ourselves with spray and wipe but it was sticky so it could just be that the table is clean but just needs to be revarnished.

- Walburga (8/5): Relaxing stay at a lovely cottage - A very quiet and
peaceful place. Lovely cottage TV didn't work, but that wasn't the fault of the owner.
- Matthew (10/5): We absolutely loved the cabin in the forest, listening to all the birds and wildlife. Fantastic for bush walks and swimm - Everything was spectacular, from the cabin itself to the surrounding Forrest. There was nothing we didn’t like.
- Ruth (10/5): -
- Kuenlek (8/5): It was lovely, peaceful and memorable :)) - The cottage is well furnished :)) The road is a bit confusing and we were scared to be too noisy while playing family games
- Linda (10/5): Beautiful house in the woods. Very private! - This is a lovely house in the woods. Beautiful stars! Comfortable, well-equipped, very clean.
- David (9/5): Very peaceful - Very peaceful
- Penny (8/5): -
- Cynthia (10/5): Excellent accommodation. No complaints whatsoever. -
- Camila (10/5): -
- Larissa (8/5): -
- Leanne (10/5): - The location was isolated and peaceful but a short drive to civilization and the beach when needed.
- Keedan (10/5): We had such a great time, short drive to Albany and Denmark, peaceful location, clean and absolutely stunning - Tucked away, clean and so peaceful. We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to get away for the weekend 😊 There was nothing to not like about it! It ticked every single box possible
- Vanda (8/5): -
- Christian (7/5): Loved everything except for the location - I love the cottage as it was nice and snug, clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The little extra I loved was the body lotion and shower caps which is hard to come by nowadays. It was a bit far from town and beaches. Was quite a long drive to get to places.
We had a bit of problem finding the place.cosy
- WEI TING (10/5): -
- Shamir (10/5): Great Weekend Away from Perth - Great Location and Cleanliness. N/A
- Ilia (10/5): Perfect - It was beautiful and clean and had really comfy beds and we loved the pot bellys and BBQ , it had tvs games and i had a spa bath Nothing
- Nicolas (8/5): -
- Schaafsma (7/5): Good -
- Sadhana (8/5): It was fair only problem is lots of ants, jacuzzi not working and location. - The room is beautiful but there is no view. We could only see dense jungle around which is scary. There is ants everywhere inside the rooms and toilet. The jacuzzii didnt work and the water was itchy and full of ants
- B (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (4/5): Chalet needs to have a thorough clean and items need to be replaced as broken such as stove top and - Quietness Location not much privacy and the chalet not well set up some of items need maintenance as broken and not working well
- James (7/5): Great location. Clean. Affordable. - Superb location. Right opposite Caves Hotel, Bakery, Deli/Shop, Beach. Chalet was easily accessible. Bed comfortable. Birds come down for a treat whilst you have morning coffee on the deck. Very quiet park which was a bonus. Very clean well kept grounds. Only issue was TV needs updating. No streaming services, unable to screencast and no Dvd player so movie watching is what's on tv if hat's something you want to do on holiday - which we did. Some salt n pepper would be nice tough - none in communal kitchen either - no biggy but it's little touches that make stays memorable.
- Susan (9/5): A nature lovers dream, peaceful, clean and cosy - The bush setting was absolutely beautiful and the cottage was so homely. We also arrived to hot cross buns on the kitchen table. Pillows not quite as comfortable as our other accommodation , but still comfortable enough to get a good sleep.
- Sally (8/5): Very good -
- Claire (8/5): Very good -
- Colin (8/5): Very good -
- Maureen (8/5): Very good -
- Ana (9/5): Enjoyed a lovely weekend away in a lovely location - Location & self contained with all necessities
- Vicki (8/5): A comfortable cottage in beautiful surrounds. Very peaceful and relaxing. -
- Julie (7/5): Thoroughly enjoyed it. - The environment was amazing. Location incredible and serene. Very comfortable bed and lounge. Very very peaceful. Couldn’t work the stove and the spa wasn’t connected. Ants were quite at home.
- Alistair (10/5): - Set in a beautiful location surrounded by bush, and close to the beach too. A serene relaxing environment.
- Tom (9/5): Superb -
- Lynne (7/5): Enjoyable - Very peaceful and location great for both Denmark and Albany Cooking facilities not good, BBQ plate clean but gas nozzles very dirty and 2 wouldn’t light up, gas oven also needs cleaned or servicing. We tried cooking in it and was useless
- Gai (9/5): Tranquil, peaceful and close enough to all we needed in both Denmark and Albany. - Secluded location, close to both Denmark and Albany. Surround by bush and close to the beach and Bibbulmun Track walks. The dryer wasn't working, door wouldn't close. Not really an issue as there was a clothes rack available. Just that the weather turned a bit cool for outside drying.
- Catherine (8/5): A nice place for family - Quiet, beds comfortable
- Malcolm (5/5): Helpful Caretaker and place was pleasant. Unfortunate about the faulty Hot Water System. - Instructions to get to the property and collection of keys were good. Had information about Wifi on the wall and emergency contact. The hot water system was not consistent as it's on for a minute and then cold. Whilst the caretaker tried cleaning the filter, it doesn't appear to be a flow issue but rather with the faulty Hot Water System and could not get gas fitter on the weekend to fix it. So showers were not comfortable from that perspective.
- Zane (9/5): Superb -
- Matthews (7/5): Good -
- Martin (6/5): - We loved the location of 'The Snug' near Lowlands Beach and the Bibbulmun Track but we needed WIFI and it only worked for less than 1.5 hours over a 2 day stay. This inconvenienced a lot as we had booked on the basis that WIFI would be available. We've said that we'd like compensation but no refund has been sent yet. The tumble dryer door didn't close properly and the cleaner hadn't removed many spiders or cobwebs in the kitchen.
- Reza (10/5): -
The best place to relax and experience the stunning forested beauty of Denmark is [specific location]. This amazing destination combines everything you could ever dream of having in a house or hotel, all in one place. Whether it’s the tranquility of nature, modern amenities, or breathtaking views, it’s the perfect spot for an unforgettable retreat.
We stayed 2 nights here and enjoyed of being in this place.
- Ramesh (9/5): Everything except additional cleaning charges - They are about to charge us more with a flimsy excuses of cleaners charges. Good location, cleanliness
- Damian (6/5): Pleasant -
- Dennis (10/5): Great rest! - Well equipped, clean. Beautiful views. Very comfortable. Ideally located between Denmark and Albany. Noting to note.
- Mike (6/5): Pleasant - Cleaniness No heater in rooms.
- Danielle (10/5): So peaceful. So wonderful! Everything was supplied. - The whole stay was just out of this world amazing!
- Thi (9/5): It's good experience. - I like the location. It's great to stay in nature. The house is vintage. I like it. The blankets look old. Washing machine is too noisy and dryer is broken.
- Barry (8/5): Very good -
- Ruhi (1/5): The unit was not properly clean and the beds were moving - Nothing The beds were moving and were very uncomfortable
- Holly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (8/5): Very good -

- Karyn (8/5): Very good -
- Katherine (7/5): Good -
- Karyn (7/5): Lovely well equipped cottage near the coast. - Close to a lovely beach. The cottage was clean and well resourced. The cottage size and layout was difficult for our family with 2 young boys constantly on the go.
- Tania (10/5): A pleasant chalet to stay - Quiet The fire didn’t draw well , maybe needs a flu cleaned .
- Ezra (10/5): Exceptional - The privacy, the cosiness and being in a location halfway between Denmark and Albany.
- Helen (10/5): I am a repeat offender. I have stayed here over 6 times over many years. That says it all. - Its like a little oasis in the middle of the native bush. All you can hear is the rustling of the heathland/bush, and the birds. I always regenerate when I come to the cottage. A magical reset place for me. All the lovely conveniences you could ask for in a beautiful coastal wilderness—seriously good privacy and comfort. The cottage has all the creature comforts of a home from a bath to a dishwasher. That I can't live here! :-)
- Rebekah (10/5): We can’t wait to come back! - The location of the cottage was perfect, kids loved the area to explore & the bbq was super handy. The cottage had all the necessary facilities & the washing machine was a bonus! The wifi didn’t work the 2nd night but wasn’t a huge issue, we watched a movie in black & white and the kids still enjoyed it.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful and cosy.
Always so nice to stay at cape Howe cottages!
- HelsnRob (10/5): - Located in the bush, great property walking trails in nature. Very cosy cottage, everything you need.
- Ameer (10/5): - Beautiful country side cottage that accommodated 5 perfectly. We really enjoyed the remote location that gave us quality time to connect and talk. Well done Cape Howe we will definitely return. We recommend this spot for families and get always.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great place to have a quite time with family - We had a wonderful time staying at the Cape Howe Cottage. The owners were very friendly. The cottage we stayed was tidy and cozy. Only little things that need to be improved: the cottage felt a bit dusty, all the frying pan are old. Other than that. We love this place and will definitely go back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cozy bush cottage - Cozy cottage in a lovely bush setting between Denmark and Albany. Beds were very comfortable.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Lowlands - My husband and i found this accomodation called the Snug lived up to its name. It was a dark and dingy cabin with no views. The internet pictures were deceiving. Very disappointed. Was sooo happy to get back to a light filled house and world.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Gorgeous cottage for a quiet family getaway. we had a wonderful time.
- Thomas (10/5): Great family stay in countryside setting - We (family 2+2) had a great stay 3 night stay at Cape Howe Cottages. The place is in a quiet countryside setting far from pretty much everything, which is the way we like it. The cottage was perfect for a family and truly self-contained, with one of the best equipped cottage kitchens I have experience - down to there being spices on the shelves, cling wrap etc. Small things, but when visiting from overseas makes life much easier. Our only regret is that it was too short. There are beaches and a general in the area but we did not have time to check those out.
Must see: Greens Pool in William Bay national Park. Tip: There are better shopping options in Albany than Denmark, though a but further away.
- Graham (10/5): Beautifully appointed cottage in lovely location - We loved the cottage which was so thoughtfully appointed with everything you could want. The service was also excellent with magnificent home cooked food delivered to our door. We couldn't have asked for more.
- Scott (10/5): Fantastic location - Great location between Denmark and Albany in a peaceful and quiet area. The cottage was lovely with everything we needed and the beach at the end of the road was amazing. Will definitely stay again.
- 44living (10/5): Perfect getaway - This was a surprise anniversary getaway organized by my husband. It was a 10/10. So enjoyable. The bush location was very peaceful, close to beautiful beaches, short drive to Denmark or Albany towns. Perfect.
- Phillip (10/5): Peaceful & secluded - We absolutely loved our stay here. The Salt Box house was first class. We could not fault it. What I liked about it was the fact you didn't need or want for anything other than bringing your own food. They even went to the trouble of supplying glad wrap, alfoil, dishwashing tablets, coffee pods etc etc.
One key point to mention was that even though there were other cottages on the same estate, you had complete privacy and could not even see these cottages. You had complete privacy. The surroundings were very peaceful and serene.
The fit out of the house was first class from the towels, linen, beds....well basically everything.
We will definitely be back
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Extremely happy with our stay, very relaxing getaway amongst nature.
- Carol (10/5): Stunning Location - A beautiful, peaceful location. The kitchen and bathroom fit out is fantastic. Wish we could have stayed longer.

This is a sublime part of the world - it really does have everything!
