Guest Reviews
- alan (8/5): - It doesnt look like much from the outside , but the room was great the staff was amazing and the dinner and lunch options were great and reasonable prices
- Shane (6/5): - parking was good and secure, however floodlighting made the room bright at night and not great for sleep. Room was clean and well kept but showed its age, only thing missing from the cutlery was bowls.
overall a pleasant experience.
- Lorraine (8/5): - Our room was spacious and well kept, very clean. Plenty of bench space and very comfortable beds. Parking right outside the door was very convenient. Staff are lovely - very courteous and helpful. A shout out to the lady (with blond hair) who cleaned the rooms. Outside could use a bit of a tidy up so it was a very pleasant surprise to find the room in really good condition.
- Rene (8/5): - Rooms are clean and staff where fantastic.
- KENNETH (2/5): - Didnt like the security light lighting up room all night
- Suzanne (8/5): - If you have to stay at Tennent Creek this is the place staff super, food good, and is gated at night
- Mark (8/5): Just passing through but a good choice. - A one night stay in the motel. A bit rough in some aspects of condition but secure and comfy. Good bed, great shower. Hotel buffet dinner was a good value option. Service was great from check-in onwards. Good info provided about the town and dinner options.
- Sharmaine (10/5): - Staff were very friendly and helpful and it was a clean and comfortable stay overnight - would recommend!
- Dave (8/5): - Looks can be deceiving, but this was a pleasant place to stay.
- David (8/5): - This accommodation is a classic case of not judging a book by it's cover. We were very daunted when we first arrived at the location but were pleasantly surprised with the room. Very comfortable, clean with everything provided for a short stay.
- Sharon (8/5): Ok stay - As a roadhouse goes it was ok. Clean sheets good shower.
- RODNEY (4/5): - Internet doesn’t show the true premises as in the photos where taken a very long time ago
- Ashleingh (10/5): - Very clean and tidy
- David (8/5): - Owner very helpful
- Jonathan (6/5): - N
- Aaron (6/5): Great, cheap and clean - This place is fine for a quick stay and is cheap, clean and quick. Yes the rooms are dated, but you’re not paying thousands of dollars. The pub had a buffet for dinner that was $25, you wouldn’t get a beer for $25 in most places, and the steak and chips was good. This place is fine for an overnight stop and the staff were great.
- Wayne (8/5): - Diamond in the rough
- Gary (6/5): - Difficulty in getting into the propert,
- Peter (4/5): - Firstly the address for the hotel is at the the back of the hotel. You actually have to go into the Bar at the front to check in and I only found it because a local helped me.
Secondly the room and beddings smelt like smokes, it usually dosen't bother me but this was overpowering.
Thirdly chef??? refuses to cook my steak the way I want, even on the menu he offers a insult to anyone who wants there steak well done.I wonder if he is really a chef or he dosent really no how to cook.
The only good thing was the gates are locked at the night time and you felt same and the girl behind the bar was lovely though, very friendly and welcoming.
Unfortunately there was no other hotel available.
If you are going to stay in Tennant creek book early at another hotel.
- james (8/5): - The meals are pretty good and the staff are lovely . Not much in town . The hotel looks really rough from outside but nice inside the rooms and the carpark is pretty secure. Meal prices are very reasonable. Only thing i didnt like was being in room 6 as you get to hear everyone stomping down the stairs from up stairs rooms . Otherwise bed was comfy room had everything and bathroom was pretty good . Water pressure was great as well.
- nicole (10/5): - All round great stay
- David (8/5): - I had an enjoyable stay, Thank you Goldfields motel.
- Rodney (8/5): - Friendly staff
- Rodney (8/5): - Friendly staff
- Matt (8/5): - Felt unsafe at first but was clean inside and secured during the night
- Stefan (10/5): - Excellent services, very clean, safe, hospitable staff. The city is a shocker but this accommodation is (almost) perfect.
- Robert (10/5): - A little noisy but overall not bad
- Kevin (8/5): - Owner was very helpful with friendly staff
- Jim (10/5): - Quiet, comfortable room. good facilities. Would use again.
- Val (10/5): - The motel rooms are at the back of the Goldfields Hotel which was gated, so we felt safe! There was a bit of noise but it settled down before we went to bed and we had a quiet night. The motel buildings are old and the surrounding area is very unattractive, however the room we had was extremely clean and pleasant, and had everything we needed for an overnight stay. Bed was comfortable enough and the shower was great. There was a microwave, kettle and toaster plus butter plates and mugs. Plenty of tea, coffee and sugar sachets supplied. There were polar fleece blankets in the cupboard. They said there was a buffet dinner in the hotel for $25 each which we didn’t avail ourselves of. There is also a Chinese restaurant across the road plus other eateries within walking distance.
- Debbie (8/5): - Convenient location, clean and tidy
- Gary (6/5): - Reasonably roomy, bathroom very small as was the sink. Had a jug and microwave but only cups, no other crockery.
- Jonathan (10/5): - Nice clean room, friendly staff.
- Craig (10/5): - Great for our overnight stay before heading homeward
- Sandra (8/5): - This hotel is surprisingly good. I say 'surprisingly' because the photos make it look like you're stying next to a bottle-o in a noisy, busy part of town. But the hotel is out the back. And there's a gate that shuts at night. And the bottle-o shuts at 7. And after that, it's actually really quiet! Very clean room; lovely staff. Maybe they could take some new photos of the spacious rooms?
- Lianne (8/5): - Checkin was easy, rooms good except for smell
- Peter (8/5): - Booking in was easy. Securities weas good for this town. Room very clean and tidy
- Natasha (10/5): - Helpful kind people
- adrian (6/5): - I would not stay again. Rocking up the office was closed. No visible marking that we can check in at the Tarven. It was on the main street and was not feelig safe about the area.
- Murali (8/5): - The owner was fantastic and friendly. The accommodation is simple but clean. The surrounding area, because it is next to a bottleshop, feels unsafe.
- Patricia (8/5): - Very clean and close to the RSL for a great meal. Courtesy bus very handy. Staff very friendly.
- Anthony (8/5): - Good food and beer, spotless.
- Mark (10/5): - Considering it is Tennant Creek the motel room had a very clean bathroom and linen the whole room were clean including the bed covers , the room had a beautiful smell as soon as the door is open it even had the cleaned paper strip on the very clean toilet seat “haven’t seen this for years in any motel that we have stayed at , there were even biscuits and a mint on each towel. We will be staying there on our way back from Darwin in a couple of weeks , Very impressed ! After 4pm is a good time to check in.
- Joanne (10/5): - Awesome service
- Vicki (8/5): - …
- Wahalathanthrige Dinusha (10/5): - Excellent customer service
- Jodi (10/5): - We had 2 nights over Easter weekend. A good base to explore the area. Was very quiet. Room was clean and comfortable. Fenced parking area for security was good. Thank you.

- David (10/5): - Great
- Kazeem (6/5): - NO WIFI and phone network.
- Judith (8/5): - Nice and clean
- German (6/5): - Aircon was not good enough.
Very old equipment. It had the temperature setup at 25 degrees
Was hot inside the room.
Free wifi didn’t not work at all
Weak signal.
- Grant (10/5): - Booked last minute and got a good rate. Room was perfect for cost and extremely well presented. Only negative is the owner/ manager was not overly pleasant. Like he did not like the online booking, although did not realise I tried to call twice direct with no luck.
- Janet (10/5): - Good clean property
Will stay again.
- Cathy (6/5): - Basic, but clean. Thicker curtains would help
- Steve (8/5): - Pleasantly surprised with the accommodation. Basic, with all amenities, but clean and comfortable.
- Mick (6/5): - Clean and room well presented. Bar and restaurant were closed. and I was not advised of this at booking. Still, there is a good restaurant right across the road.
- Jillian (8/5): Secured overnight - Comfortable
Motel and parking area secured overnight
- Syd (8/5): - Very nice clean unit. Comfortable bed. Initially put off by the outside presentation, so pleasantly surprised. Felt very safe with secure off street parking. Good basic meal at hotel.
- dean (8/5): - Clean room, great bed, friendly staff, environment - town - not so great
- Geoff (8/5): - Motel is good but is let down by the surroundings and the town enviroment

- Graeme (10/5): - Good place for a quick overnight stay at cheap price
- Geoff (8/5): - First impressions not good through bar but motel area is clean secure and we enjoyed our stay.
- Janet (10/5): - Clean and comfortable. Helpful friendly staff. Secure parking
- Kathryn (8/5): - The staff were lovely. The food at the restaurant was excellent. The bed was lovely and comfy... my pillow was not great though. The room was excellent quality and the bathroom was great... with the exception of the fold out bathroom door.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good Stay - Nice hotel. Will definitely use them again
- Philip (8/5): - surprisingly good clean rooms and restaurant in the pub.
Secure off-street parking
- Keiran (8/5): - It was ok
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good clean basic room with helpful staff in centre of town.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Where it was
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Tennant Creek has it issues, and businesses here face significantly more challenges than in any other part of Australia. For this place to provide a clean, safe place to stay for travellers is something of a minor miracle. I wouldn't avoid TC, because it's a wake-up call for those of us who live in our urban bubbles. Congrats to Goldfields and all the businesses in TC for their efforts.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Despite the exterior look, the room was very clean and modern.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The bar fridge stopped working overnight and spoilt some things we had in it. Other then that the rooms are comfort and clean with mircowave, toaster and kettle.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Unwelcoming and scary
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Wi-fi did I not work at all, but the TV did.
Extremely clean room, and comfortable standard beds
- Jill (8/5): - Clean, comfortable, and secure. I would stay here again.
- Lesley Ann (10/5): Good service, good place - It was good and comfortable
- Heather (10/5): - Great location. Newly renovated rooms with lovely bathroom. Nice bar area and great meals.
- Mary (8/5): and easy check in - Check in was quick and easy
Young lady was lovely
Only problem I couldn’t get wifi
- Brian (10/5): - Nice clean rooms, secure parking area, reasonably quiet and an excellent Chinese restaurant across the road.
- Marilei (8/5): - The entrance is a bit uninviting but the staff is very friendly and the room was great :)
- Verified traveler (10/5): wouldnt stay anywhere else in Tennant - My go to place in Tennant Creek - it is always clean - staff are super friendly
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room was decent, somewhat secure parking, quiet despite being in the centre of town
- Cherie (6/5): ne for where we were - Couldn’t get WiFi in the room but friendly staff and room was clean.
- Eddy (6/5): - Adequate parking, quiet, clean and friendly service.
- Norris (8/5): - The meal in the hotel was okay but seemed more people were eating across the road.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room and aircon smelled like a septic tank . The bed was old and hard . The knives and forked were plastic. All in all it was not a good experience. I’ve stayed twice before but not again .
- Jen (8/5): Tennant Creek - The accommodation was overall comfortable and the staff were very nice. We could only access the Wi-Fi from outside of the property with the smokers.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We used the motel as a one night stop over.
In a great location.
Appearances initially are of concern, however don’t let that faze you.
- Helen (6/5): - We needed a place to stay in Tennant Creek and were able to get a room a Goldfields. The room was clean and spacious enough, the air conditioning worked and the bathroom was clean with good water pressure and enough hot water. The large gate was somewhat awkward and the parking area was a bit cramped. The Wifi advertised on the internet was non-existent.
- Darren (10/5): Only place to stay and eat in tennant creek - It is a great spot to stay in tennant creek , safe for your car , food is really good and staff and manager are great , Carly at the bar is really good , more guest should try eating here , food is really good , i will only stay here while I'm in tennant creek
