Guest Reviews
- M2820OGjennal (10/5): Staff kind and accomodating - Although in need of a bit of rnr, the rooms were clean, beds and pillows super comfortable and all within walking distance to the major public hospital.
Rick the manager went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and if required anything following my husband’s surgery as well as Kylie at the front desk so kind and approachable.
- susanfX4649CE (2/5): Worst stay ever - This is our four stay here and the absolutely the worst stay ever.Asked near-by quests to keep the noise down twice, at midnight and they told us to shut the f*** up they could make as much noise as they like. Just because you are young doesn't mean you have to be rude.
- camellel2024 (2/5): The taps are taken out of the room and you cant use the bath or spa unless you pay an additional $40 dollars a night. - Manager is very rude and not caring. He abused my daughter while i was on the phone to her and made her cry on her 21st birthday all because her son didnt stay in the room one night and it was a government booking her sister did to keep her company. There was no toaster in the room and a hole in the wall and when my daughter wanted to check out the manager tuned off his phone and refused to answer the phone to her. I cant believe the extra cost in this room and no cleaning except when she paid an additional 40 dollars to bath her sick son and had a spa as she paid the 40 dollars and it was her birthday
- RalphandKayC (10/5): Felt part of their family - Needed accommodation whilst partner was in hospital and came accross this gem located within an easy walk of the hospital. Ricky and his staff made us feel like members of their family. Any request was no trouble and they were so easy to talk with and made you feel you were their most important guest - have stayed twice and have another booking coming up shortly. Thanks Ricky and your offsider Peter for great treatment. Rooms are neat, clean and tidy - felt just like home.
- MeMock (8/5): Does the job - Two nights here for me while attending a funeral. Friendly place. Good sized rooms but dated - bed was ok. Lighting was poor. Interesting that they have a microwave and a toaster but no cutlery which made eating Menu log food a little interesting.
- DEADROC04 (10/5): Great Motel - Great Motel, spotlessly clean, well facilitated with all necessary self catering equipment especially if you have someone in the nearby Hospital. Hospital 5 minutes walk. Close to supermarket and city.
- Steveinthebay (10/5): Work stay - Stayed here as part of a work event , room was very homely with a few modern touches , the spa was a nice surprise, staff were very friendly and meal was great , thanks again, will definitely be back !
- dmhyde1963 (10/5): Aster in James is awesome people - Thank you for letting us leave our car there all day while we were at hospital.
We are so thankful we found you by accident really enjoyed your awesome showers and great nights sleep, will be staying with you definitely again if we need accomodation in Toowoomba.
Trip advisor viewers aster in James is great value and really lovely people to crash with..
Cheers Donna and Sue
- 555glenng (10/5): Best in Toowoomba - Have had our third stay, great as usual. Always feel like a member of the family when staying here.
Some yummy food as usual.
My recommendation this time is the Lamb Shanks. Soooooo great.
Sticky date pudding. Nice.
Bed made my hubby's back ache, but wont stay in that room again.
So many others to choose from and no problems before with the beds.
Terrible getting old.....
Will be back there in ten weeks for visits to Toowoomba base hospital, which is 100 meters next door.
So hàndy.
Thanks again.
- katrinam938 (10/5): Great place to stay - Stayed here for a week with my elderly parents who were in the disabled suite. This is a great place to stay. The rooms are very comfortable. What I really loved though were the staff. So obliging and helpful, from check in to check out. Super impressed. Thank you so much for your friendly and warm establishment. Totally happy to recommend.
- ozzienise (10/5): Clean comfortable rooms - This was my second stay at Asters. This was the first time that I have ordered dinner. The steak was cooked to perfection. Thank you to the staff for short but wonderful stay.
The room was set out nicely, the bed was amazing to sleep on. Being close to the main road I was expecting to hear a lot of traffic noise. This was not the case. I slept like a baby,
- vonben (10/5): Third Stay - This was our third stay at Asters and as with previous stays it was clean, comfortable and very enjoyable. Owners/managers always friendly and and the motel itself is in a great position. Even though it is on a busy road the traffic noise doesn't disturb us at all. Asters will always be our first choice when staying in Toowoomba.
- 660leaannem (8/5): Winter in Toowoomba - A short visit to see friends in Toowoomba. I chose this spot because it was close to PCYC Markets on the Sunday morning. Surprisingly spacious room, well equipped including microwave and iron/ironing board. Sadly, right near Warrego Highway, but I managed a good nights sleep all the same. Cafes next door if you need them. I took a slow and pleasant stroll into city centre, about 18 minutes walk along the canal path. Also next door to hospital. Excellent value for money.
- kateo07 (8/5): Immaculate and friendly - Great location for cbd and quick stay over. Easy access on the Warrego Hwy. Immaculate room, with near new furnishings. The bed is very comfy and friendly staff. Loved the hand wash, shampoo etc pumps. Thanks
- mrmrsbling2008 (4/5): very very average you may want to read this review scary - stayed for two nights and the manager owner came into our room without permission and without us being there highly not recommended creepy.felt unsafe and very noisy neighbour, the walls they must be thin, again creepy!!!awoke at 4pm in the morning to the person next door yelling.not worth the money and creepy!!!
- AnitaEdward (8/5): Very comfortable ! - We Found the room very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Had a great nights sleep.
The only SLIGHT whinge we have is the road noise ... Although you can't expect anything else when you stay on a very busy road.
Thank you and if we get held up in Toowoomba we will endeavour to stay here again.
- Dianas1962a (10/5): Stayed here for Carnival of Flowers and were able to walk Queens Park, Laurel Bank Park. - Great location, great accomodating managers and super comfy beds.
Nothing was never a problem for Colin to solve for us. The room was immaculately clean and very roomy. Would definitely come back and stay for a few extra nights and make use of the kitchenette available in our room.
- Kate_Darlington (8/5): Convenient, Clean & Friendly - We booked this motel for the Carnival of Flowers this weekend. We chose this motel due to the second bedroom, as my partner and I were staying with my mother and preferred to not have to sleep in the one room.
It was clean, warm and comfortable. We had a slight issue with our air con on our first night and had to call the manager out after hours, but thankfully he was very happy to help and had the issue resolved within reasonable time.
The cleaning lady was super lovely and friendly... We even talked her into giving us an extra pack of cookies due to my unwillingness to share. We had a good laugh about it. She made us feel very welcome.
The location is a little bit out of town but if you're fit could be walked in around 15-20 minutes. Otherwise an Uber cost us $7 on our trip to the centre of town/ Queens Park and $6 to the Federal hotel for dinner. It's also on the main road which we thought might be noisy but we heard nothing and slept perfectly.
We would recommend!! 😊
- SunshineAsha (8/5): Friendly Manager - Stayed here 1 night as was attending a 70th Birthday at Blue Mountain Hotel. Motel was very central to everything and a small shopping centre conveniently across the road. Bed was comfortable and loved having the use of a Toaster, Microwave, Tea and Coffee facilities and the extra touch of biscuits.
- 610desleyh (10/5): 2 Mins walk to Toowoomba Base Hospital - I had originally planned to stay elsewhere but fortunately hadn't booked. Saw this place first luckily and snagged the last room. It was actually a family room however Colin happily changed the rate to a single for me. Colin couldn't have been any more helpful in difficult circumstances for me. I was pleasantly surprised when I slid between the sheets later on, crisp quality linen that felt as though it had been ironed. The room, kitchenette and ensuite were spotless. Will be sure to come here again if I need to stay in Toowoomba.
