JONATHAN (10/5): Risby Cove is a lovely place to stay. I'll be back! - Jacinta and Sebastian were excellent hosts and other staff were equally welcoming and accommodating. It is a beautiful location and the rooms are very well appointed and comfortable. The wifi wasn't great for the stay. Other than that I could not fault the stay. It was excellent.

Maria (8/5): Beautiful accommodation in a rugged location with a selection of delightful amenities. - Clearly newly established with thoughtfully selected finishes and fittings. Super comfortable bed. Lovely location on the water and easy to get to and from. Great on site restaurant and friendly staff. Only continental breakfast available, we missed our weekend eggs brekkie. Biggest frustration for us in particular (because we were in the Theater Room) was the sketchy internet connection which meant every movie we watched was constantly buffering which defeats the unique selling point of the room.

Carlene (10/5): Stunning and luxury stay. - Wow! A truly stunning boutique hotel. Our room was beautifully designed with all the right features and everything you need. Great views and a fabulous restaurant. All just few minutes walk from main centre. Sebastian made us welcome with a cheese plate and drinks which we enjoyed on the waterfront in the sun. That we were not able to book the room with the spa lol 😂 as it had a great view as well. Next time!

For $1100 per night there was fruit and stale pastries for breakfast. No kitchen staff of a morning. They had run out of sparkling water, they didn’t know how to fill our spa tub, overflowed it and then couldn’t empty it.

The restaurant sounds can be heard from the room, the other guests have to walk past your front sliding door and sitting room window.

Outlook onto the harbour Breakfast hamper was underwhelming especially the first evening…. Particularly only two small pieces of bread for toast (one each) and fruit was not fresh! Granola was good. Delivered very late …. 9.30 in the evening! Welcome cheese plate was not inviting; cheese had become very dry and hard. Workmen commencing work outside our bathroom window with power tools at 8.20 in the morning! Not idyllic

It was a construction site, building noise waking you at 7:00 in the morning. No indication that this was what to expect when booking and a notification on the day we were arriving that car park was closed. Had to walk through mud to get to room and deck was still being built so had to detour. Staff were apologetic and friendly. Daily room service did not happen and when we texted to request on day 3, no fresh towels which was disappointing as we mentioned specifically. No acknowledgement to our request for room service. Daily hamper was fantastic but missed on one day altogether and deliverers inconsistent. Sometimes afternoon sometimes left outside in morning. Seemed disorganised with experience not matching the 5 star cost. Hopefully will improve with more experience. Sad to write this but really disappointed.
Rubin (10/5): Elegant and beautiful suites that are truly unique and staff that are committed to customer service! - The suite I was upgraded to was very well designed and elegant. The staff (Sebastian and especially, Jan were very good with their approach and attitude towards making sure the stay was perfect). There is still some work being done to make the new design changes to the outside and certain units are still being renovated (however, the staff are truly committed to making sure that the customer has an experience that is worth the cost).

The bath tub looking out over the water was glorious. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. Dinner was excellent one of the best we had the whole trip. Nice rainforest walk just across the street and walking distance to town. No mirrors in the rooms. There's construction going on but it didn't really affect us. Everything including the restaurant was open and not much noise... just FYI for other guests.We got a good rate but if it's ever full price I don't know if we could justify it. Finally, the lights next to the couch were glaringly cool white. Dimmable warm bulbs would have made all the difference.

The breakfast box delivered to our room was really well done also. top marks!!! I felt sorry for the staff. They seemed run off their feet. we waited way over an hour for our dinner, which made the night pretty late, but honestly the stay was a very lovely experience!

Katrina (6/5): - There was no mention of this property being ‘under construction’ at time of booking. We arrived late at night, retrieved the key, with no instructions to the location of our room. Other guests pointed us in the correct direction to find our room. The gas fire was not lit, and we were unable to light it ourselves. We called for help, and were told that they could not help, but instead offered us a discount. Even at 50% off room price, it was overpriced for the state it was in. Drinking glasses in the bathroom were dirty, as was the kettle. There were used coffee pods inside the coffee machine. And the glass shelves were visibly dusty. We were woken in the morning by noisy construction.
Jay (10/5): - The service was exceptional. Everything was perfect and the facilities were all clean. Attention to detail was incredible. They were happy to help with anything and gave us a free upgrade which was one of the highlights of our trip to Tasmania. The guy on the reception was so lovely.
Thompson (2/5): Right rip off - The quality of the fixtures and fittings inside the bedroom were first class. The location was also good, being right next to the water. It was under renovation. The hot tub wasn’t working, the fire had no fuel, the minibar didn’t exist, the main lobby/lounge/restaurant resembles a building site canteen. The ‘courtyard’ is non existent. To top it all the restaurant was closed ‘due to staff illness’ - it looked like it hadn’t been open for weeks (building site office) The building work stopped at about 18:00, the day we arrived and started the next morning at 07:00. The suggested rack rate was over £300, even the receptionist even said the room wouldn’t cost that in the height of summer. We chose it, as it looked like a bargain even though it was the most expensive rate in town, that night, by a considerable way. Trades description comes to mind, over promised and under delivered

Benjamin (10/5): An excellent stay with great service, beautiful views, and delicious food. - From the moment we arrived, the service was excellent and everything ran smoothly, Sebastian in particular went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The views were stunning and the food was delicious. Everything exceeded expectations, relaxing, scenic, and well looked after.
Lyndal (7/5): Sebastian was always extremely helpful and polite. Renae thankfully moved us to a different room which made our 4 night - Great location, fantastic restaurant. The Hotel is under renovation, which we weren’t told about before our arrival.

Definitely only worth a night stay as there isn’t much around and very limited food options. The restaurant was lovely and service was great! The breakfast hamper was perfect!
Serena (7/5): Nice stay but could have been better without noise. - The beautiful view, private balcony, large bathroom with bath and heated floor. Large comfortable bed. The staff storage room behind bed head wall where staff made noise after 11pm waking us up several times (we stayed in the Sawmill room). Non-working spa. Couldn’t light fire either.
cassandra (10/5): - At the time of our stay they were renovating the verandahs the staff contacted myself to arrange different rooms. we were moved from our original room n upgraded to 2 separate rooms which we didn't mind. The young fella at the office was absolutely amazing extremely knowledgeable of Tassie and very helpful! The restaurant was beautiful but we aren't big seafood fans. Just stop in for a few drinks :-) Highly recommend this place if your going on the train or ferry. Look forward to visiting again when the renos are complete to see the changes.
Helen (1/5): Awful! - Some luxury fixtures Horrible outlook. Hot tub didn’t work. Room is literally a box on the ground with virtually No view. For almost $500 a night, it was not luxury at all!
Sarah (10/5): Put Risby cove on your list to stay in TAS 5 stars 🌟 - We had a wonderful stay at Risby Cove, room was beautiful, staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious both breakfast hamper and dinner in the restaurant. A must stay over!
Graeme (4/5): For what we paid - disappointing I acknowledge the place is being renovated but not ideal - Really lovely and roomy space. Bed great. Renee worked really hard to make this work. Place is very understaffed The hot water in the morning and evening was not really hot. Fire didn't work. Room not attended to for second night. So bed unmade, no tea bags etc and whole breakfast hamper still sitting Ate in the restaurant - waited a seriously long time to be attended Renee was apologetic and provided complimentary entree. That was great but we felt for her. She was doing waiting, serving drinks and food, payments and anything else needed. Only staff member. The entire meal entertainment was from the table behind which seated an owner and manager, we assume for this business, talking with some sort of promoter who spoke loudly and we heard the entire business meeting. Perhaps could have done this at another time and helped out in the restaurant. Food standard did not compensate for the wait and lack of service. We were asked for drinks at start but never revisited. Finally - No breakfast hamper on second morning. Just didn't happen. First morning, toast, no butter only chutney. Since we couldn't find the cutlery we had dry toast. Pastry and muslie left. I would suggest they detail the location of cutlery etc on the info sheet. We couldn't find any cutlery. We did not eat dinner there 2nd night.

Samantha (10/5): Exceptional - Views spectacular and room stunning Booking.com advertised spa room which is why I booked it. Accomodation website said spas aren't available until July due to renovations but booking.com takes the info from webpage so booking.com is at fault for false advertising of the room. Extremely disappointing given booking couldn't be canceled and I could have outdoor spa with a terminally ill husband. This is the second time booking.com has advertised a property as having a spa that isn't functioning. Very disappointed by this. I suggest looking at the actual website before booking as booking.com is not up to date and also in both case more expensive than direct through the hotels
Nicole (7/5): Beautiful location and very modern. - Excellent location and the bed was very comfortable. The service in the restaurant was excellent. Drain was blocked in shower and saturated bath matt had to cut shower short. My husband had to clean out all the hair and gunk wich was disgusting. Coffee and towels were not replaced on a daily basis. The fireplace was not lit on our last night wich was also very disappointing.

Melissa (7/5): Not what we expected - The Room itself was quite comfortable and renovated nicely. The Breakfast Hamper was terrible, not really a breakfast for 2. and i think that when we booked, we should have been told there were renovations happening as we were woken up at 7 each morning. The other thing was the bathroom was so cold. There was a breeze coming in under the door and it was like an ice bucket.

Gerald (5/5): Disappointed - We were booked by booking.com for a 1 bedroom suite with Seaview. What we got was a 1 bedroom studio with a view of the parking lot and a partial Seaview. A microwave and fridge do not make a kitchenette. Not worth the price paid!
