KATHERINE (9/5): Peaceful stay with stunning scenery. - The units are set on a spectacular headland with water views from both sides and a beautiful beach a 5 minute walk away. Lots of wildlife that visit you at your door, including the resident peacock and bush turkeys. So much birdlife as well. A swimming pool on site and a washing machine with our room. Such a peaceful place, I was sorry to leave. A larger bed would have been nice.

Staff were friendly and able to accommodate earlier check in. Room was clean and beds comfortable. Aircon worked good so no complaints! Parking was a bit tight but the resort wasn’t too busy so we managed ok.

Diane (7/5): It was comfortable but starting to show age - The view was beautiful. The wild life was like being at the Australia Zoo. I’ve never seen so many Rabbits. The stairs…. The aluminium railing was so hot it was burning my hand once I reached the top. The track to the beach I couldn’t get to due to not able to manage going down the rock step downs safely - if you don’t have knee/feet issues you would be fine. No food/ restaurant opened nearby on a Tuesday night apparently.

Kay (9/5): Sort of stay where you don’t want to leave, and want to come back. - Beautiful tranquil location overlooking the cove. Old-fashioned and wonderfully comfortable, clean and functional. Staff were lovely. Short walks to lovely spots, included big beaches, cafe and Chinese restaurant.

Magdalena (9/5): - Der Strand Horseshoe Bay in der Nähe des Hotels ist klasse. Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Aussicht aus unserem Zimmer. Große und saubere Zimmer. Der Abfluss im Bad stinkt stark. Der Garten ist bei genauem Hinsehen nicht sonderlich gepflegt, jedoch kann man hier viele Hasen beobachten.

Amy (6/5): The rooms are nice and it’s close to the beach. Staff are terrible - Right next to the beach. Super close and convenient We got yelled out by the staff of the hotel, we assumed she was the manager? Walking to our car after a beach visit. She wanted to know who we were and what we were doing on the property…. That we were staying at! We were stunned. Be prepared for this if you stay. She was aggressive and gave us no explanation. We assumed we could walk to our car? Still shocked by this to be honest.

Lynnette (9/5): - Beautiful spot to relax and be surrounded by nature, stunning little quiet beach areas close by, great view out to the ocean, it was lovely sitting on the balcony and watching bush turkeys run around, rabbits, bird life, while listening to the ocean and the birds. The corner spa bath topped off the relaxtion, it was great.

JA BINKS (10/5): - Fabulous hosts, incredible room, view spectacular, only one close food spot open, cafe on beach, but it was okay though limited in choice. I have stayed many times and it never fails to impress. I love this place + lovely Horseshoe bay so close to walk for swimming + headland walk a Must on any itinerary...it is only an hour return to Rose Bay and we'll worth it.

Proche de la mer pour se baigner. Un petit café à 50 m pour le petit dej. Un peu loin du centre. Voiture obligatoire.

Lambe (8/5): Excellent overnight accommodation that is reasonably priced in a tranquil location. - Second time staying at the Whitsundays Sands Resort and the location and room is a perfect overnight stop when commuting between Brisbane and Cairns.
590danaef (10/5): Perfect location with a beach view - We had a great weekend away, perfect location. Rooms were clean and good size. Pool was nice, the beach is just there so kids loved doing some fishing and swimming. I would definitely recommend to family and friends to stay here.

Mick (7/5): - The lady behind the counter was super pleasant and helpful. It's an older style accommodation, but pleasant enough and super close to the water. I didn't try it, but apparently there's an Indian reastaraunt on-site . Was nothing I'd complain about , especially at the price.

Tyler (6/5): Friendly reception staff - Short stroll to Horseshoe Bay cafe. No clearly marked smoking areas. Beds only had a sheet and an itchy blanket in the wardrobe. A light doona would have been nice. Small corner table inside with 1 chair. No actual dining table if you use the corner table for laptop. Restaurant not opened although still advertised online.
mermaidteacher (10/5): Excellent location, accommodation and atmosphere. - The location is idyllic, the welcome friendly and all staff very helpful. The room was very clean and had everything we could want for a self-catering stay. The view over the immaculate gardens and to Horseshoe Bay was lovely (we were in Room 403) and even though the weather let us down on the last day, we enjoyed our stay and the walks we completed (along Rose Bay beach, Queen's Beach and to Murray's Bay). The value for money is excellent. Janet and John are helpful and we found the room nice and quiet and there was always a free parking space.

natandmarkb (10/5): Our favourite getaway - We have stayed at Whitsundays Sands Resort several times over the last year and continue to be impressed every visit. The resort is in a stunning location right on Horseshoe Bay, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing getaway. The rooms are consistently clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the resort offers excellent value for money. The staff really make the experience special — always friendly, professional, and helpful. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this resort and will definitely be back again.
