• Natalie (9/5): Loved the location and cozy shared house vibe. - Cozy, clean, lots of little home comforts. Delightful back yard and shared spaces. Ad said Netflix was available to use but we were locked out. Dark at night on arrival. Knowing if other guests were staying - I had people at the door late on night and wasn't sure if they were guests or not. Extra lock on door for sole female travelers would add peace of mind.

• RUI (10/5): Considering location I couldn’t have asked for more. - Location is awesome. It’s a really nice cozy place to stay (the varanda). There’s no sink in the kitchenette.

If you’ve got big cases (which we had) there’s very little space in the room to put them and most of the wardrobe space is filled with spare linen, pillows etc

• Heidi (7/5): Schönes gemütliches Haus - Die Unterkunft hatte eine schön eingerichtete Küche, mit Tee und auch Müsli. Auch der kleine Garten war sehr schön uns liebevoll eingerichtet. Wir hatten die Unterkunft gebucht und auch einen höheren Preis in Kauf genommen, wegen der Lage. Laut Booking.com hieß es seinen es nur 550 m zum Strand und 300 m zum Zentrum ist. Was leider so nicht stimmte. Es war doppelt so weit, sowohl zum Strand als auch zum Zentrum.

After 2 weeks of hotels especially for business travel, this was such a welcome break. Felt cozy and like home. Appreciated that laundry facilities were available. Loved the windows that could be fully opened to enjoy the weather even when relaxing indoors. Easily walkable to town. Would 100% stay again.
• Heide Harije (9/5): Sehr gemütliches sauberes Guesthouse - Wohlfühlfaktor - Das Guesthouse ist super süß eingerichtet und durch die überschauliche Anzahl der Zimmer sehr ansprechend. Wir mochten auch tatsächlich den Gemeinschaftsbereich. Ein großer überdachter Außenbereich mit großem Tisch und großer Loungelandschaft. Sehr sauber und gemütlich und im Außenbereich sogar mit Deckenventilatoren. Die Küche ist toll und jedes Zimmer hat sein eigenes Fach im Kühlschrank und eigene Box. Kaffee, Tee, Cerialien alles da. Auch das Parken war kein Problem. Es ist genug Platz vor dem Haus. Man ist in 2 min am Busbahnhof und in 5 min bereits im Zentrum von Byron Bay. Es ist jedoch ruhig gelegen in einer Seitenstrasse. Wir haben es sehr genossen.

• Karel (8/5): A lovely stay in Byron that I would recommend - The location was great; within walking distance of everything in Byron. In a fairly quiet street with ample parking. The fact that there was only one tap for water (the bathroom) making it awkward at times to fill kettle and water bottles. No cooktop either.

• Lenore (8/5): Perfect home base for a long stay in Byron with beautiful kitchen interior and well equipped for Bryon Bay - The outdoor deck with heating and TV was great and useable even though it was cool weather, great showers and very comfortable bed and very well equipped kitchen, and great laundry facilities - great for a long stay. Liked it was within reasonable walking distance to town and beach. Beautifully decorated throughout with lots of areas to sit and read or watch TV. Good wi-fi. Construction sound from a two-storey house being built close to the side and back fence started from 7:00am stopped around 3:00pm Monday to Friday. Bedrooms are not very soundproof : when other occupants (5 bedrooms in total at the guesthouse ) played music, TV or talked loudly you could easily hear them through the walls.

No human contact at all. . Trash on front verandah sat there for 3 days, complimentary breakfast cereal and milk not replenished for 3 days. No tissues in room and no spare toilet paper. If you run out i guess you have to run up to the local stores Totally self service.

We had a little problem with the door lock . The response from Tania was great and it was remedied straight away with a visit from a locksmith. The only small thing we would comment on is an exhaust for the bathroom would be great but didn’t detract from our visit.

• Jessica (7/5): Okay stay, great location - The location is great, on a quiet residential street but only a 10 min walk to the beah and high street. The beds were comfortable and the apartment was clean and nicely decorated. They have split the house intro three apartments so the room I slept in has a door separating me from the other guests. I could hear everything from their apartment which left me with a bad nights sleep. The parking for our apartment is awkward to park into and there is a small deck outside the window of both bedrooms that the other apartment can sit on which keeps you up. I think the deck should be for the apartment we stayed in as there is a door for access.

• Buten (8/5): Cute cottage just outside of town. - Cute house. Great for my friends and I. Door doesn’t work. Needs to be replaced / it’s flimsy. Luckily it is a safe country, but I wouldn’t recommend leaving anything valuable in there.

The building looked like it had been recently renovated and painted. Walking distance to the town centre and the Sunday monthly markets. A few more black tea bags would have been nice (only one was in the container). Apart from the dishwasher there was no place to wash a glass or mug other than the bathroom basin which isn't very hygienic.

• John (8/5): Good accommodation, with good location. - The bedroom and bathroom were a good size, with the public areas well appointed. A small casual armchair would have improved the use of the bedroom, as you had to sit on the bed if you wanted to sit down. There was no house outside light that shone on the entrance steps, nor on the key keypad boxes, making it difficult to see where you were stepping, and using the boxes. Outside lights did come on later, but well past the time that dark conditions were out front.

• Yii (9/5): Relaxing and enjoyable - We stayed in The Loft at Barbara’s Guesthouse and it was a very comfortable stay! Even though it is listed as a guesthouse with shared communal space, The Loft has a separate entry which allows for privacy. It is conveniently located in Byron Bay city centre. It is also well equipped with basic amenities and even had some local Byron Bay snacks prepared for us which was a wonderful touch! Beautiful styling and furniture which fit perfectly with the summer beach vibes. Would recommend!
• Bain (8/5): Overall, we had a great stay, weather was ordinary but you can’t change the date of your anniversary - Great location in quiet area, short walk to everything. The bed was very comfortable but a bit soft for us. We stayed in The Loft for a week and didn’t have access to the laundry for some reason, not that we actually needed it. The bench seat in the room was not the most comfortable and very hard to watch tv from unless you were lying on it in which case where does the other person sit

• Anna (9/5): Superb - The whole property was clean and tidy. The kitchen was well equipped with everything one could need. There was plenty of tea and local coffee. The laundry room was useful to freshen our clothes, and there were plenty of drying lines both inside and outside for us to use. Our bedroom and ensuite were clean, and the aircon was a definite necessity. The beach towels in the room were a nice touch too. There was no cereal or milk for the first few days, so we had to buy our own. There was a nail sticking out of the bathroom door frame, which was quite dangerous. It would have been nice to have met our host at least once in the 6 nights we were there.

• Christina (7/5): Ok - Location, looked new, we could store our luggage, nice little extras like coffee etc, laundry, good WiFi We booked the loft to have more space but it meant apparently we were not supposed to use any of the common areas meaning no outdoor seating, no proper table to eat (only a bar type table and chairs ) and also a small not very well equipped kitchen ( no small plates , no wine glasses, one small pan only etc); no air con (only fan) , sun wakes u up early as big window in living area has no blinds or curtains and there is no door between sleeping and living area so also not ideal if you cook in there as smell is everywhere; nobody on site so communication bit tricky; for us mattress was way too soft so we had back pain for 4 nights; very compact - no space really to put our 2 big suitcases….so unfortunately for us not good value for money as it was not cheap at all.

It's cosy, clean and well equipped. I loved that there are all the little things that make a difference. Byron Bay is a heaven on earth. And you'll get everywhere form Barbara's, it's easy to access all the beaches (I rented a bike) the lighthouse and basically everything. Farmers's market is nice on Thursday morning. I absolutely recommend this place, I will come back for sure, but for more days:)

• Aila (6/5): We were overall satisfied, but slightly disappointed - The house was in walking range to almost everything. We enjoyed the room as it felt very at home. The shared spaces were nice aswell. We were also happy about being offered early check-in, due to cleaning being completed ahead of time. Although we were mostly satisfied with our stay we encountered some confusion. There were multiple signs stating that we weren't allowed to utilize the cook-top and oven, which contradicted what we had read before booking and in our guest-guide. When confronting the manager about this we didn't receive a very polite response. The issue was blamed on the cleaner and we felt as if our inquery was of disturbance to the manager. We were at last informed that we could indeed use the stove, but when turning it on it was out of function. Lastly there was a lot of dust and rubbish (including an old sock) underneath the bed.
• Neil (4/5): A bit disappointing, perhaps the place could be described as an upmarket hostel. - Location good. Nice and clean with good shower. Plenty of space in communal areas. Place seems to be run by a robot everything done by text messages and E Mails. Bedroom small. Good to have a communal kitchen but was not sure what we could use as there was notices all over the place even a sign on the cooker saying not to use it! We were told by text to put out our own rubbish, never did find the bins

• Stuart (8/5): Very good - Very clean and tidy. Small room, no chair either easy or desk, no staff on site. Restrictions on towels, particularly shower mat was always wet as floor had to be wiped after every shower due to plenty of water falling outside the shower walls. Kitchen rubbish overflowed with garbage and not emptied

• Jo (10/5): If your after accomodation that is central to everything, is super comfy these rooms are perfect 🤩 - Location was perfect. Rooms were super comfy. A couple of things could be improved, toiletries. Shower gel was empty, tissues would have been nice. No sugar in kitchenette.

• Maria (9/5): Lovely place in Byron Bay - We stayed at the one bedroom Loft and it was comfortable. Place is walking distance to town and the beach. Parking is on site and very convenient. Nothing really except maybe the bed was too soft.
• Anna (8/5): Great accommodation; close to beach and shops - Location Modern Clean and not worn
• Mike (10/5): good but the extreme stress of getting access and then having to find other accommodation ruined it all - very good cottage accommodation i couldn’t get access on the day booked after nearly two hours on the driveway was told to find alternative accommodation in the town which i had to do as was 9 pm by this time
• Jonathan (10/5): Would stay again - Just as represented in pictures. Clean, comfortable. Walking distance to stores and restaurants. This is not a fancy hotel but a comfortable and well maintained guesthouse. Nice patio and small living room to hang out. Regrettably, tenants in one of the rooms were very loud. Not party people, just loud and boisterous. The sound really carried. Fortunately, they did not stay up late so it did not interfere with my sleep.
• Luke (8/5): Great location and cozy accommodation. Very enjoyable stay at Barbara’s! - Amazing location. Very soft and comfortable bed. Very little to not like about this beautiful accommodation. If I can think of anything, the kitchenette felt a bit grimy and a little too basic. Missing a few essentials and cleaning items.
