Bathroom was a treat with excellent water pressure. Great night sleep aside from the outside balcony lights left on. Turn off the balcony lights after 12am would have been good.

We booked the two bedroom option, this is right next to the air ducts/extractors in the roof, it sounded like a helicopter was taking off and landing all night long. The noise was incredibly loud and went all night, think they should re-think these rooms or move the extractors.

- Lisa (6/5): Rooms have been renovated and are quite nice. Steep stairs leading up to the room and a bit noisy. - Room was clean and neat with new fittings and furniture. My understanding from the advertisement was that the room would be quiet. This was not the case as there was a lot of noise from the bar beneath the room. Also, it was immediately on the road and there was some loud traffic. The lights were on the Veranda immediately outside my room all night, which the curtains did not entirely block out. There are two sets of stairs of very steep stairs leading up to the room. I'm unaware if there was a lift available as it was not offered. I found it difficult to take my bags up and down the stairs. Watch out for the step at the entrance of the bathroom, and on the edge of the shower. Accidentally kicking those hurt a lot! Thought it was a bit expensive for what was delivered.

Reception staff was really helpful and really appreciate the assistance given. The main bedroom was open and has no privacy for the hosts. The Bathroom has no proper enclosure for water seep.

- Geraldine (10/5): Fabulous - The Mount Gambier Hotel is definitely not your normal pub accommodation. Our "shoebox" room was well appointed with ample room in both the bedroom and the bathroom. Our only disappointment is that we did not stay another night to enjoy the facilities and the amazing wineries.

- Sanka (10/5): Elegance and affordability in a brilliant location. - The property was beautiful, elegant and clean. Wilma in reception was absolutely wonderful. Not saying this just because of the complimentary upgrade we got for a king’s deluxe, which was elegant and spacious but hotel is in a great location and the stay was perfect. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced. We were also lucky to get food half price during week. Nothing negative to comment at all.

Highly recommend and one of my favourite spots to stay in Mt Gambier. It's not my first stay and won't be my last. I wish that a face washer was provided, it is the only thing that I find lacking. This time they unfortunately did not have a pen provided in the room, but I was advised that they were in the process of rectifying this when I enquired. I also had an issue with my breakfast where elements of the meal were missing (I ordered the breakfast green bowl and the avocado and hummus were missing). But these issues are splitting hairs really, all in all it was a great stay.

I booked a box-room (a room without windows) which I didn't realise but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Very quite room :) The stairs. For older folk with a big suitcase it is a bit of a workout getting to your room.

Not ideal for privacy with 2 couples. Would work for a family but not ideal for our situation.
