Guest Reviews
- Robert (2/5): - This property is no longer used as a hotel. I was not informed that my booking had been transferred to a new hotel until I arrived at check-in. The replacement hotel was npt satisfactory. Avoid Accor.
- Zheng (4/5): - the bathroom is awful. I will never come back again.
- Danika (8/5): - Very good location, nice pool. Everything is walking distance and the public transport is right there- easy to use.
- Gene (10/5): Wonderful location in the heart of Surfers. - This is an excellent choice if you enjoy being in the middle of everything. Hundreds of things to do and places to eat one minute away. Good size unit in good condition. If you book a normal unit it may not be so well renovated. We booked an "ecexutive" unit which means a renovated unit. Each unit is individually owed and different.
Good quality body lotion, etc. Washer and drier worked well. Not stingy with supplies. Lovely staff.
- Christine (6/5): - Stayed many times over the years and never had a problem till this stay. The room was terrible. It was dirty. The bathroom mouldy. The lounge torn and a window held with tape. The shower was covered in mould and lime scale. Very disappointed this time round.
- Jeff (8/5): - Generally all good but the spa tewmp wasnt fix i asked to increase the temp a staff member said she had reset it but thta made no difference na d no follow up was done
- MARK (8/5): - Location was the key - great rooms could have better pillows thou 😉
- Jeremy (8/5): - Was great only thing we didnt like is cheap toilrt paper and no dustbin shovel with broom otherwise it was great
- Chris (10/5): - Liked everything. 3rd stay and will be back.
- Craig (8/5): - Overall very good and handy for what I was looking for
- Warwick (2/5): Wont be back. - Stayed in many apartments in Gold Coast this is by far the worse. Im surprised that a company like breakfree have this property on their books. Its super dodgy and feels unsafe, the building it is located in is run down and many vacant shops that gives it the dodgy feeling. The rooms are cold and uninviting, middle of winter and they give you a bed sheet and 1 thin blanket, i know its qld but come on. Its like this building has a dark past to it, balcony furniture broken and the unit we stayed in need a revamp. We were so uncomfortable in it we checked out a day early. Location is good but if you can put up with noise of cars, trams, slingshot screams and doof doof from nearby nightclub then it will suit you.
- Catriona (6/5): - Bad smell in the apartment. We stayed 7 days and they wanted more money for extra towels and toilet paper. No wifi unless you paid extra for it. If the fire alarm went off in the apartment they said they would charge us 1500 dollars. Very noisy but very close to everything we wanted very easy to walk and get food and see the night life.
- Bridget (10/5): - A great location- we had a superior apartment- 2 bedrooms, a HUGE shower and seperate toilet!
The tram stop outside the door, the grocery shop across the road- fantastic location! Older property, but location makes up for this! Can be noisy Thursday-Sunday- but you are in the CENTRE of town- it’s to be expected!!
Will definitely be returning- very impressed ❤️
- Heather (10/5): - The rooms were very clean neat and tidy. The apartment was near new except for the seating on the balcony very old and torn. 9/10
- Biljana (2/5): - Proprietary was extremely dirty. Every single dish in the cupboards was with stain, some food scrap was glued on the plates, cutlery, glasses, had lip marks, and stain from the drinks, floors had a hairs all over, linen had stain.
I understand is old but cleanliness was 0/10. After first night sleeping on the portable bed my son got rush on his body. Doors are could not be closed, curtains was half falling from the rod. Remote control for TV didn’t work. Promised Foxtel, not even normal TV worked. Wifi didn’t exist until you asked. Apartment was falling in part. Tiles on the balcony was health risk, broken and very sharp. After complaining at the service desk I was told someone will come and do cleaning never happened. Promised in half week someone will come and clean, never happened.
Pool, spa, sauna, bbq and outdoor area I just visited and look nice. It is clean but there is a lot of sharp edges on tiles in the spa.
I spend one week there, report on first day to receptionist and I was told to write email what I did but not anyone was addressed this during my stay. Ask receptionist few times but nothing was done.
- Julie (10/5): Location - Excellent location staff and amenities ✅
- John (8/5): - The reception staff were excellent. The property is a bit noisy at night but location is excellent
- Fiona (6/5): - Empty beer cans rolling around all night in an area fenced off from our balcony kept us awake all night. Obviously the cleaners are not looking at the surrounding areas.
- Mitchell (6/5): - Good budget accommodation in the centre of Surfers Paradise.
Noise can be an issue if located on a lower floor like I was. You're also surrounded by construction that starts early in the morning 6-7am and a slingshot ride that operates late into the night. But sometimes thats a realistic sacrifice for the convenience of having the tram stop right out front and being so close to Cavill Ave.
My particular room also had loud plumbing and was right next to the garbage shoot. Wouldn't recommend to light sleepers.
- Stuart (10/5): Excellent choice for centre of Surfers - Spacious deluxe 1 bedroom apartment in the centre of Surfers. Old but in good condition and clean. Lovely views of city and sea. Convenient and easy basement parking.
Centre of Surfers means rather noisy at night, but closing the balcony doors solves this if a bother. Good desk staff but limited hours.
Overall excellent value for money when under $150 / night.
- Kate (6/5): - The property was good for the price. However, the couch was falling apart leaving leather debris all over the floor. The dryer needed clearer instructions and the pole holding the kitchen countertop was broken and wasn’t touching the ground. Yet the rooms were clean and the view was good for the location. The amenities were clean and useable. Overall, not bad.
- VIC (8/5): - Location
- Gavin (8/5): - The hotel was in a great location, close to the centre of Surfers and also trams. We had a great vie from our room. It is not a new building and that is evident in the rooms but did not impact our stay. The only real downside is the pillows were like bricks.
- Jade Nicole (8/5): - The property was great! The only negative was there was no wifi.
- Carolyn Lorraine (6/5): - Very noisy on a weekend with night life going to about 2am
- Joanne (8/5): - Great location and views. Comfortable beds, but furniture and rooms do need a little freshen up. Staff were friendly and amenities good. Would go back again
- JOHN (6/5): Great holiday in Surfers. - An older building and I would guess the apartments are individually owned so lucky dip on the condition. Hotel is well located and we had a view to die for. Great reception staff but rooms only serviced once in 12 days. Our room was getting tired with dirty carpet and not overly clean . The washing machine , dryer fridge etc very good. Bit of night club noise at night, but overall we got it for a cheap price so was great value.
- Chris (8/5): - The reception staff were brilliant particularly Kylie. There was a mistake in the booking (caused by my misunderstanding) and she fixed it up perfectly. Highly efficient, friendly and genuinely helpful.
- craig (8/5): - Very close to transport and places I wanted to go.
- Jaimin (2/5): - Location Location Location and thats where the positives end. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing as most of the amenities in the room were faulty and issues related to cleanliness like bed sheets were stained. Aiva at reception was extremely rude throughout multiple conversations during the day and only after we demanded refund, a new room was allocated for the night. That was 6pm on the day before our checkout but they had already lost what could have been a happy customer. Hate to do this to a business but am never returning to this place again or would ever recommend anyone as we did not feel we were treated well.
- Regan (8/5): - Great location. Walking distance to Cavill Ave and tram. Great ammenities. Room was not very clean with rubbish and food under the beds. Could do with a deep clean before next visitors. Despite this I would stay again.
- Alan (10/5): - Apartment was spacious and very clean. Staff helpful & polite. In the heart of surfers, close to everything.
Will be staying again.
- Sarah (8/5): - Would stay again
- Jeremy (8/5): - Central location but be mindful of the late night clubbing noise. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Pool and spa were good but overall the property is dated.
- Matthew (8/5): - For a hotel.located in the heart of Surfers Paradise the room was quiet when the external doors were shut.
- Ange (8/5): - Great location right in the heart of Surfers (Cavill Ave) everything at your doorstep!
Apartment was great, right size, great spacious balcony, had everything we needed!
Only complaint would be the couches are outdated, they peeled all weekend making a horrid mess everyday all through the apartment but other than that we had a GREAT STAY AND WOULD STAY AGAIN!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Centrally located. Close to everything. Value for money.
If you are upto level 7or8 then you may find it little noisy.
Otherwise it is great accomodation.
- ashley (10/5): Centre of surfers - Great location in centre of Surfers. Opposite Cavill av. 😀
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Ricky (10/5): Nice property - The units were nice and clean staff were helpful close to shops and beach and very close to trams and resturants would definitely stay again
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Situated right in the centre! Old property! Average outlook. My basic was overflowing. I had booked a superior deluxe 1 bedroom which had no feels of deluxe! Lol.
Could not sleep at night because people on street scream till 2am over weekend. Beach was hardly visible from 7th floor.
Would NOT recommend this property for people who need luxury!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very centrally located and close to some nice eateries.
Reception staff are friendly and helpful, check in is a little protracted due to COVID but it’s understandable. The room was well appointed with decent sized balcony and some sea views. Can be a little bit noisy due to close proximity to a night club but not overly so.
- Sarah (8/5): - Great central location to Cavil Ave. Room was nice & clean. Only let down was the noice. We were on the 8th floor and it sounded like the noice was right out the front of the window. We could definitely tell there was no double glazing on the windows. Otherwise no other issues.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The air conditioning unit was not clean and a little concerning.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent location but that comes with some street noise throughout the night and early hours with can be annoying. Other than that I couldn’t complain about a single thing!!
- Stuart (8/5): - Deluxe Apt RM 223 was refurbished, modern fittings and excellent value. Staff were very nice and friendly. The worn dilapidated sofa that was flaking PU leather everywhere was the only negative aspect of the apartment. Highly recommend this hotel and prime location. We stayed a week and loved it.
- Leigh (8/5): - Great location, perfect for a great priced getaway in the middle of town.
- BIGFELLA (8/5): - Close to Light Rail but sadly Surfers is at the moment very dead due to Qld Gov border closed and many shops shut hope it picks up soon for all there .
- Arnel (10/5): - It was nice stay at the cosmopolitan apartment, close to everything you need, shopping, restaurant, clubs & trams, definitely refer to lots of my friends here in Adelaide and also have friendly staff specially the receptionist name Miss Katrina, we look forward to seeing you soon👏👏👏
- Sandra (8/5): - Very handy to everything and also great to have parking available
- Nelson (10/5): - The roof top pool and BBQ area is awesome and the view from up there especially at night is amazing. I have stayed in a lot of apartments in Surfers Paradise this was the only apartment to have this rooftop feature.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good view from living room. I can see sunrise from balcony.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Property was very unclean, dated and unkept. One towel per person for the stay additional ones at $1 each.
Location is great, right on Cavil Avenue and fab for public transport. Downside is noise but it wasn’t too bad.
Well stocked with kitchen items if you wanted to cook.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Could not fault our stay we had a few issues that were fixed within minutes ie; hot water and air con. Mai tangents fixed both issues promptly. Will stay again. They also gave is a late check out free of charge. I was very impressed with that!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - the location was nice, but everything was little old and something was broken.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I loved the location everything was so close bye the room was very quaint oh and the views were exquisite
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very central, although the builsing is old, the room was well maitained and clean. Facilities were really good.
Due to thisntimenof year with schoolies, the room wasnt ready on time, but jn saying that, they gave us the room we wanted with ocean view :)
- Robert (10/5): - Motel clos to Cavall Ave and annentives
- Vernon (10/5): Awesome stay - We had an awesome stay one again
- Melissa (6/5): Great location but very noisy - Lovely reception and quick check-in. 2 bedroom apartment small and dated but had all the amenities we needed except a bath. A little dirty, especially around the windows and behind the doors and beds (had to move furniture to recover lost toys!). But the worst thing was the noise! Poor sound proofing so the noise from The Island and backpackers across the road made it difficult for us and the children to sleep, thus I wouldn't recommend this hotel for families and wouldn't stay here again.
- kwee ngoh (8/5): Excellent - Good location and convenient. Easy to access many places. The receptionist staff very hospitality too.
- Arnie (8/5): Close to beach - Nice place only negative was it was very loud at night due to close proximity to night clubs but still a good place and close to everything
- Georgia (10/5): - Perfect location and great rooms! Highly recommend
- Louis (10/5): Happy Customer - Good service, good price, good rooms, friendly staff and close to everything
- keith (4/5): - Location, Location, Location.
Sleeping comfort bad due to loud music from the clubs being played up until 3am every morning
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice friendly staff. Very comfortable room right in the heart of Gold Coast
- ANNA (10/5): LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION - My stay was fantastic. I had booked for 6 adults and received 2 separate units. Ideal for our family. The location was spot on. Right in the middle of Surfers Paradise. Walking distance to the famous beaches, a large variety of retail shops, plenty of restaurants also great entertainment along Cavil Avenue for the young and old. The room size, great, and our beds were comfortable. The ladies at reception were friendly, very professional going above and beyond their job to make us feel comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel.
- Lisa (10/5): 5*+ fantastic place to stay - Such a great place to stay. Best place we have ever stayed in. 5*+
- Louise (10/5): Close to everything - Had a great stay, convenient and comfortable. Can’t wait to stay again
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Room was run down, shower dripped non stop, poor water pressure in bathroom, no air conditioning, tv was poor and constantly cutting in and out
- Sean (8/5): Perfect spot, and so
Close to everything - Loved my stay at the Breakfree Cosmopolitan!! The hotel was nice and comfortable and quite elegant with lovely tiles throughout the whole building. Enjoyed using the facilities such as barbecues and pool/spa. Perfect spot for a hotel right in the heart of Surfers Paradise.
- lee (8/5): Surfers paradise short stay - Perfect place to stop if you want everything literally on your doorstep.
Good size apartment in good condition.
Would definitely recommend.
- Peter (8/5): Great Location, But not for the light sleeper!!!!! - Great apartment with awesome features including fantastic large BBQ area, basketball court, artificially-grassed mini soccer field and great warm pool and spa. Directly opposite Cavill Ave light rail station and 5 min walk to bus stop for major theme park attraction and other coastal sights to the Gold Coast. Bedrooms are very spacious and beds comfortable which is always a toss of the coin with hotel stays. Only downside was the floors weren't very clean especially the carpets in the second room. Spaces around toilet and vanities were very dusty as well. I requested at the front desk to have them cleaned and it done staright way....... Front reception staff were always very freindly and accommodating....The noise at night around the building is quite loud from the nearby nightclubs and traffic which was really the only downside to this place as the windows aren't double insulated like most modern hotels. Didn't really bother me as I slept no dramas as I was tired enough to sleep through it...... Then there is the garbage collection at about 6am on the Monday which is a bit annoying but all in all if you are a young person with no kids this would be perfect because of the location and proximity to nightclubs and eateries. It was seriously value for money at just under $150 a night for 5 nights. Great desserts in beach road at The 4217 Tella Cafe and other restaurants....... Locations 10/10 Noise 5/10
- Annette (6/5): Extremely late check in - With only an overnight stay booked we were hoping to make the most of our minimal time there. Arrived at 2pm (check in time) and were told our room was not ready. Had to wait nearly 2 hours to receive our keys. This, unfortunately , is not good enough. The room was a good size and clean and the lady at reception was extremely friendly. Also was unimpressed with entrance to hotel, very messy and difficult to access. Overall, I was unimpressed with our stay there.
- DAVE O (8/5): CLOSE TO LIGHT RAIL ( The G ) and supper market - ITS a Great place to stay close to light rail and shops Banks ATMs supper market Woolworths and Coles Subway Pitza ect
- Rob (4/5): Renovated Hotel, close to beach, town & transport - First impressions upon arrival, Wow, great room, great view, clean & well presented.
However, once it was time to go to bed, you could hear all the traffic noise, people screaming, police & fire brigade, the street performers, the live act coming from across the road, etc, etc, etc.
The noise did not stop until about 3.30-4 in the morning, this was for 3 nights, (Any more nights and we would have changed hotels). The hard lumpy mattress did not help matters.
The positive was that we slept in every day because we were tired from the night before.
- DAVE O (8/5): GREAT close to G light rail Wollies Coles - GREAT PLACE GREAT STAFF ON THE FRONT DESK THE LADY GREETS YOU WITH THE BIGEST SMILE > THIS SET OF APARTMENTS SO CLOSE TO EVERY THING LIGHT RAIN ALMOST TO THE DOOR I AM BOOKED AGAIN FOR 8 DAYS IN 6 WEEKS TIME.. IT IS A OLDER BUILDING BUT BEING DONE UP NICLY I HAD A BRAN NEW ROOM VERY NICE .
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great location - Great location and value for a 2 bedroom apartment with ocean view. They are currently under maintenance so power tools including jack hammer will make you up early. The Islander Hotel playa music until late on Fri and Sat which you can hear from your bedroom. Beds are really comfortable and the apartment was clean. Also, on one night the best door neighbours had a full blown domestic at about 1am which wasn't fun as walls are very thin.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Was kinda lit.... I guess..........................
- Pat (10/5): Great apartment in centre of Surfers - Best place we have stayed in great value for money.
All new appilances , great deck & views lights & beach.
Pools & sauna used daily.
- C (10/5): Nice recently renovated unit. - Clean and tidy , fox TV bonus, could not fault this unit.
- Caroline (8/5): Central location - Great location , but noisy at night , particularly during the weekend. But I knew this when booking so not complaining. Disappointed that the spa was pretty cool so only used it once. Did bring it to the attention of staff but nothing done. Unit very nice but dryer was not functioning properly, but this was attended to immediately. Overall I would stay there again. This was my second stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Location was the beat thing about this place, other wise it's an average run-down hotel apartment.
- Verified traveler (8/5): good location but noisy though - everything is a walking distance. noise coming up from the bar down the road though. fortunately it doesn't stop me to get to sleep because of the tiredness ;)
- Ng (10/5): - Great location and comfortable will come back next time.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Close to everything - The two reception girls are helpful and friendly. . It is right in the centre so close to everything . Pool and bbq area fantastic. The bed was terrible was so hard! The room needs upgrading especially the bathroom and kitchen, the mirror was broken in the hall and was held up with sticky tape. The vent in bathroom needs a good clean and also the air conditioning unit.
- John (8/5): Convenient location - Hotel was convenient to central Greyhound bus station. Close to beach. Would have been nice to hsve higher floor.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Excellent location - Clean, decent apartments. Amazing view and excellent location. Great for families
- Anna (8/5): Good location. Central to to Cavill Shops. - Unit nicely renovated and pretty clean. However very small unit. Location is close to nightclubs etc and can get very noisy at night.
- Fer (10/5): Good location - Staff members are very nice and helpful
Very close to public transport and shops.
The location is just walking distance from the beach
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room was fantastic other than the shower being dirty.
Staff were wonderful, organised early checkin and we're always willing to help.
PERFECT location with easy access to Cavill Ave and the beach.
Will definitely stay again when I return to surfers paradise
- Ricky (6/5): Amazing location, ok service/room. - Amazing location, tidy and comfortable room. The airconditioner was broken, so was the TV, they expected guests to clean everything but didnt provide sufficent materials.
- Colin (10/5): great position in the heart of surfers - The day we arrived the lifts were not working which was a problem as we were on a high level. However, one was repaired and our stay was very pleasant. We would stay there again when next we go to the Gold Coast. The manageress was very informative and helpful. Reception is unmanned after 5.30pm and a mobile phone number is advised should you need assistance at a cost of $50. A security device is given to guests and it is their responsibility for entry and exit to the building after 5.30pm. This did not pose a problem for our stay and reinforced our sense of security.
- Lawrence (8/5): Would recommend. - Great location and central to almost everything. Reasonably noisy as it sits in the night club precinct.
- Leonie (10/5): My Stay. - Had a great time, the staff were very friendly and helpful.
- Grace (10/5): Always great - Had a great stay at Cosmo as always central to everything on surfers
- Liam (8/5): Our week stay - Only downside was no free wifi and wifi was really expensive.
Other than that, it was fantastic.
- Shelley (8/5): Nice stay in a nice compact apartment - We had a 3 night stay on our way up the East coast. The location was great, with free parking included it was a great deal. The pool area was nice.
The apartment we stayed in was clean in the main (maybe needed a slightly more thorough clean as i found things left by previous occupants that hadn't been cleared away, such as a used razor. There was a few things that could be done in the bedroom as there were some exposed pipes which looked very grim, however in general it was great.
The kitchen and bathroom were spotlessly clean (apart from the dropped razor).
The laundry was a nice touch also, this could maybe have done with some yellow tape or something on the slight step into the bathroom though as every one of us managed to stub our toe entering.
I must admit, I did miss free wifi which is offered almost everywhere else.
- Samantha (8/5): Perfect position in Surfers Paradise. - The room was nice, clean, beautiful view. There was a sauna, pool & bbq area on the roof & on the 1st floor was a bigger pool & spa with sports courts & a small gym.
Perfect spot in Surfers paradise, a short walk to the beach, shopping, restaurants & public transport.
The only thing I cold complain about would be the noise at night but once you fall asleep you don't notice it, & you should expect it staying in such a central area.
I woukd definitely stay here again.
- Sahil (8/5): 4 night stay - My stay at break free was overall great, the rooms were a decent size and the beds were very comfortable, the hotel provided convenient access to all the main attractions in surfers paradise.
