Guest Reviews
- Denise (10/5): Amazing location - Absolutely beautiful grounds. Cozy cabin. Quiet and peaceful.
- Richard (10/5): - Our stay at CapeTrib Farmstay was a trip back to nature. It gave us peace, relaxation and home comforts and all secluded within the farms ripening fruit trees. The cabin had an air conditioned bedroom a funtional bathroom and the extended canopy provided cover for comfy seating and a kitchen with gas burners and fridge freezer in an open air environment. Our Host Sam provided us with a fresh picked fruit platter which was a delight and he was very helpful with local knowledge and his kindness shone. The local shops and beaches were all just a short walk or drive. This is not a fancy 5 star luxury accomodation but it does give you a 5 star smile. We can highly recommend this if you enjoy the outdoor life and fancy a unique opportunity to stay on a working fruit farm. You will leave rejuvinated after a happy experience.
- Allison (8/5): - Nice style of glamping with some great comforts. Only downside was once dusk hits the insects are out and the only inside area is the bedroom...no tv or other entertainment makes for a quiet night. Very peaceful area close to all Cape Trib has to offer.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - excellent farm stay with beautiful environment. A peaceful place with lots of tropical fruit to discover, great place for pictures and to stay away from the busyness of the city.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great owner great place great stay! Fairly remote part of Australia but well worth it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly staff, clean cabin and beautiful location.
- ALBERTO (10/5): - Excelente, en todos los aspectos. Una familia acogedora, amable y predispuesta a ayudar en cualquier situación. Se nota que aman el lugar en el que viven. Altamente recomendable.
- Dave (10/5): - Wonderful stay very nice friendly staffs. Great birds watcher place and bats.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A great location in Cape Tribulation Daintree National
Park. Out the of the way enough to feel offtrack. The owners are very nice and helpful with a great family history to tell. The rooms are lovely and come with nice touches like tea delivered to your room in the morning and fresh fruit picked from the farm for breakfast. Gear restaurants close by and some lovely walks. Highly recommended for the young (I’m 30).
- Akash (10/5): - We had a wonderful night at Cape Trib Farmstay. Jeremy was very helpful and even organised a travel cot last minute for our wee one. Great people, location and wonderful exotic fruit for breakfast. What's not to love?
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fun. The proprietor was able to recommend the things to see, restaurants, etc. the direction was appreciated.
It’s in a unique setting-and a unique breakfast.
- Jan and Richard (10/5): Get-Away-From-It-All retreat - We had a relaxing stay in a simple but attractive cabin set in the beautiful orchard at this exotic fruit farm. The owners were so friendly and welcoming. No in-room TV or WiFi but that just added to the charm. The well equipped farm kitchen was available for guests and a wonderful breakfast was provided. I especially liked the early morning tea delivered to the cabin veranda so we could enjoy the first cup of the day looking out onto the rainforest.
- david (10/5): Tropical delights - Very friendly hosts and very helpful with local knowledge.
A most relaxing atmosphere,
It is a gem !
- Susie (10/5): Rainforest tranquility - Wonderful, relaxing couple of days at "the Farm". Enjoyed the owners hospitality, the comfortable, quiet cabin, and the delicious breakfast each morning with loads of fresh fruit.
- Amanda (10/5): Memorable Stay - Sam was a great host! His parents were on holiday while we were there, but Sam was there to make sure our stay was comfortable. The fruit in the mornings was delicious and fresh (and of course it came from the farm). We looked into other options prior to our time in Cape Tribulation, but this seemed central while also giving us private accommodations. I would definitely stay at the Farmstay again. Excellent experience!
- Michelle (10/5): Unforgettable Farmstay - Great stay with very warm and friendly hosts and fantastic tropical fruits available for every breakfast. Incredible sounds of the forest every morning as we made our way from our cabin which had seemed to all alone by itself seperated by giant palms from other cabins. Best stay we have had!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent choice in Cape Tribulation - Owners are very friendly. Fruit breakfast was interesting. The area is beautiful
- RHIAN (8/5): - Peaceful location which is very typical of the area
- Brian (10/5): Unique B&B Experience - Cape Trib Farmstay is the most interesting B&B that I have ever experienced. The location is on a tropical fruit farm and consists of several individual cabins with rainforests and mountains all around. The family that runs Cape Trib Farmstay are incredibly generous hosts, and they go above and beyond to ensure a great stay. If you need anything at all, they are willing to help you with it. There is a free exotic tropical fruit breakfast consisting of some familiar and some fruits that I have never heard of. They also offer a daily tropical fruit tasting tour, which we were unable to take advantage of.
- Chris (10/5): Wonderful location for families, great staff. - Dawn and the rest of her family couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Even the pets were lovely. It's a beautiful location among fruit orchards and forrest; not far from Cape Tribulation, the beach and other attractions. There are only 5 cabins and they're a reasonable distance apart (20 metres or more I'd guess).
Because electricity is primarily solar generated there's no fridge in the cabins, but space is provided in 2 large fridges in the communal kitchen. The kitchen and attached lounge/dining kitchen is located in the old homestead and gives a wonderful view of what life liked to be for residents in Far North Queensland. The views from it into the thick surrounding rainforest are lovely as well. All the exotic tropical fruit provided for breakfast was gorgeous.
The cabins themselves have electricity, power points, hot running water, air conditioning (we didn't need it in August) and are very well cleaned.
Lucy the Kelpie/ Border Collie dog was a standout for my 2 year old. All the pets though are very evenly tempered and obviously used to dealing with boistrous youngsters.
If you're of a technology dependent bent keep in mind that mobile phone reception doesn;t seem to have penetrated as far as Cape Trib, at least not with Telstra or Optus. Which means you probably won't be accessing the internet. On the plus side, no work emails!
- Linda (10/5): Really close to nature - beach, forest, fruit! - My partner and I stayed at Cape Trib Farmstay for only one night, and wish we could have stayed longer. Jeremy was a very pleasant host who know a lot about the area, and was very hospitable (he even called up our tour company to confirm or booking for the following day and arrange pick up). We were disappointed that we couldn't stay for one of the fruit tastings - there are plenty of delicious tropical fruits growing on the farm - but we were really impressed by the lovely breakfast fruit basket (along with homemade jams, toast, tea and coffee) that was left for us in the morning. The kitchen facilities are shared, but the cabins are very private. There are only a few cabins on the property, and we found the stay very peaceful and relaxing.
Thankyou for a wonderful stay!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Simple and relaxing, just what we were after. - No mobile phones, no internet, no TV, just a few days in a beautiful Cape Tribulation.
- Jacquie (10/5): Cape Trib Farmstay - It was a lovely place. Cute little cabins, modest but well provided for. We didn't need much room as we were out most of the time. The staff were very knowledgable about the area and about other tour operators and were wonderful in being able to book the local restaurant for dinner for us and also called arrange one of the tour operators to pick us up at the farmstay.
The tropical fruit tasting that the farm stay offers was a fantastic experience that we chanced upon. (As I have always wondered about all those exotic fruits that I have never tried.) Our only regret is that we should have stayed longer! So much to do.
