Guest Reviews
- Michael (8/5): - The motel is in a beautiful area where walking brings in beauty!
- Thomas (2/5): - The property is conveniently located.
The room is in serious need of mainttenance. The handle on the sink faucet was broken. The wood trim was badly done. The wall has areas in need of paint. But worst of all was the matress. Every time we sat on it, or wile in bed turned over or mad any movemenr, it mad a terrible grating noise that sometimes awakened us.
The only bright spot was the reception person. She was very nice and helpful.
- Henry (6/5): - Very old building, need repairs.
- jennifer (2/5): - This property looked like it should be condemned.
- Debra (10/5): - grounds could use gardening. otherwise clean
- ETHAN (4/5): - Staff was very kind,
- Alan (6/5): - There old motels but staff was amazing she did everything she can do with the property
- Tom (6/5): Just OK in Blaine, WA - Check-in was bizarre. Push a button, a person comes to a small window that opened to a small porch where your payment was exchanged for a room key. This was at 3pm. Room was OK, about what you would expect at this price point. Good mattress. No room service at all for a 2 day stay. No amenities.
- Helmer (4/5): - Old facility needs an upgrade.
- Janette (8/5): - The management were very helpful
It was very reasonably priced
- Laura (6/5): - Property was convenient and fine for the one night we were there. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, so that was nice. Room was a little run down and there was an old bar of soap in the shower. But we didn't have high expectations based on what we paid for the room. It's fine for what it is.
- Mary (6/5): - It's old and rather rundown but clean and comfortable. Good location for Blaine. "Bayside" but no views.
- Vernon (4/5): - Well first I list the pros. The room was clean and didnt smell, the bed was comfortable and bedding and pillows were good, had a flat screen, mini fridge (no freezer) and microwave oh and the towels were soft. Now the cons. The property courtyard had not been taken care of, no lobby, no ice machine, walls were painted cinder block,No shampoo only tiny thing of bar hand soap, no phone, no ceiling light, furniture looked like it was second hand, dollar store shower curtain, did have a new toilet, no drain plug in bathroom sink, their was a door that was covered over with a steel plate, carpet was stained. You couldn't get into the office, they had the door locked and a small slider window to fill out the registration and give you the key. The room door didnt have a do not disturb sign and you had to turn the key real hard to open the door. They made me pay up front for the two nights, which is odd.If your looking for a cheap place to stay when your on the road and need a place to sleep and shower I guess it works.
- Ken (6/5): - A quiet motel. The room was ok, clean and beds were fine. The property is dated. The staff would provide towels, tp, if you asked. The staff was pleasant. The exterior needs cleaned up, decluttered. The ac was fine but it was programmed by staff.
- Lori (4/5): - the property is running down and mosquito inside room.
- vivian (2/5): - This place is so disgusting drug people around it property was not clean TV did not work everything was dirty in the room you should take this off of your site and some other properties there's a second time and I'm getting done with you guys
- William (6/5): Once Was - Like a lot of older coastal motels, this one has suffered from decades of mismanagement and poor investment. The room was shabby and showed wear and tear. The WiFi was weak and I had to use my cellphone for YouTube and Netflix. The location is great but a management team that is committed to investment and improving the property is desperately needed. Use only if nothing else is available.
- Julie (4/5): - Room was clean but very old and feels outdated. Property need maintenance, very unkempt. Front staff was very friendly and helpful.
- Ginalisa (4/5): - it feels like an old hospital converted into a hotel. the lady was nice. this place needs more attention.
- Marion (8/5): - An old motel that’s dated and has a lot of longer term tenants. The price was reasonable for a clean comfortable bed to sleep in. Plenty of clean hot water in the fairly small shower as well. Room was clean and staff was friendly.
- Samuel (10/5): - Older dated facility, but it is clean, quiet and well located
- Donna (2/5): - For $85.00 a night, I, at the very least, would think we could stay somewhere that didn’t stink to high heaven. The room looked like it was on the verge of falling down completely. It was so bad I didn’t even want to take a shower, step on the floor or even touch anything. We got exactly 2 towels that were the size of a kitchen towel. I would never stay here again even if it was cheap which it was not
- Andrew (2/5): - Bad vibes. Junk everywhere outside.
- Ralph (10/5): - Older facility, but reasonably updated and clean. Only negative was lack of ice-making machine.
- Paul (6/5): Would return - Had some problems with older A/C but check-in lady got it running---Older stained bdrm rug--wear shoes----The bed is very comfortable and slept well--Mostly quiet.
- Natalie (4/5): - It’s really old and run down! It was clean but definitely needed new furniture, blinds, and the shower was so scary that I did without- I had a lower level room and felt unsafe
- Eugene (8/5): - Good except bed was sideways to tv making it impossible to watch tv without a sore neck
- Sherri (4/5): Do NOT stay here - Never recommend Bayside again. It was so rundown that we nearly left, but it was late at night and we were exhausted. The courtyard was in shambles and a hazard to anyone walking into their room. The bathroom was dirty, towels thin and rough. Thins walls, other guests sitting right outside our door chatting until after midnight and no ice to be found. The website photos show a rather charming motel. Not true. A prison cell would be more comfortable.
- Joe (8/5): Very adequate! - This is not the nicest place that you will ever stay in but it is clean, roomy, comfortable, well equipped reasonable. I have no complaints and would stay here again if the need should arise.
- Pat (8/5): - No shampoo, no hand towels or washcloths. Very strong smell of air freshening cleaner, not pleasant.
Very comfortable bed.
- Ray (10/5): - Retro, but clean and comfortable.
- Myrna (8/5): - I just needed a one night stay so it was inexpensive and the checkin person was very friendly. easy parking and close to water, restaurants etc.
OLD building...
- David (8/5): - Just the basics - worked for me!
- Donna (8/5): - Reasonable price and friendly staff within easy walk/drive to downtown restaurants. Facility is dated but was clean and bed was comfortable.
- Seong (10/5): Overall great! Will use again - Good location along the coast, and just a short walk to the Peace Arch border. Area is quiet and calm.
Staff were extremely friendly (even when I called at a very inconvenient time). Checking in and out was a breeze.
The room and was well stocked. The linens were also clean and debris-free.
Overall a very pleasant experience, and will definitely stay here if I visit Blaine again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Old building but very clean. King bed was very comfortable and the sheets were the softest! Non-Slip Mat in tub was a nice saftey feature. Worth the money!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful scene and friendly staff
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Decent. Stayed one night. No complaints. Yard area and building a little run down. The woman who served me was positive and pleasant. Handy to downtown and close to the bay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very run down
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It is an old building and it shows. But, they allow pets which is what we needed for our bunny. Although they did up their pet fee $5 from last month when we stayed. You would never know we had a pet in there, we clean up after ourselves.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Just okay. - It’s an old motel, struggling to stay open through the pandemic. Everything works, but lots of visible repairs, which is okay. Quiet and safe neighborhood with friendly and helpful people on the street. Expensive dog fee, $40. Easy walk to the downtown area.
- John (6/5): Maybe not again. - The grounds needed some help. Reminded us of trips to Mexico-cheap motels in Mex or south central LA. But room was clean. There was a boarded up door to where we don’t know? Old maybe original everything in room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This place is old as is everything in it, definitely nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. They are pet friendly which is great! But they could get some towels that are bigger, the ones they have are kid size. The area is fantastic and within a short 10 min walk there are any number of places to eat.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It is a very old property. I would not want to spend a lot of nights here but for short visits it is fine.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Pet friendly with a great field for ballchasing across the street
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very old motel/inn. Clean helpful nice staff. Outdoors needs an overhaul
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Just your average hotel very comfortable bed though
- Brandon (6/5): - My only real complaint was the bed. Just not comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Bayside Motor Inn and Motel International had very friendly, accomodating staff. I enjoyed my stay and would stay again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean! It’s an old motel but it was worth the price!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice Motel - The staff was very friendly and helpful. A good motel for the location. Nice location across from the ocean. It was fairly clean.
- MT (8/5): - Great place to stay overnight. Excellent location.
- Sza (4/5): - The bedding and bathroom was clean but it's like polishing a turd. The building is very very old and is in dire need of updating. It would be a great subject for Hotel Impossible. There was nobody at the registration window, we had to walk around and find someone. In the room, there were many wall patches, hokey shower curtain set-up. The bed was creaky and miserably uncomfortable. In fact, the 2nd night we went home instead of dealing with bed torture again. Good news...no bug problems and Blaine was wonderful.
- R.P (8/5): - It was for one night so it was pleasant. The room was clean and everything worked. It was good
- Dave (8/5): - Inside was fine. Outdoors needs some work. The staff was helpful and perhaps overworked.
- Lorraine (2/5): - The property was very old and NOT a 10 min. walk from where we wanted to be (as advertised on the website) - NOT happy, but was unable to cancel when we looked at the property.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quaint. Clean. Very accommodating. Nice view of water. Overall a nice place to stay. Nothing fancy but clean and well kept with friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good value, overall, and friendly staff. Internet service slow and spotty, however, not better than a mobile hotspot.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Hard to wrire this review. For the price I suppose the room was ok. It was squeaky clean and the bed was comfortable. Clearly the owners are trying hard and have replaced appliances, the bed and bedding, and the sinks and faucets. But the heaters are falling off the walls as is the wallpaper. The room smells of smoke. The place needs gutting.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - For a one night stay the room was o.k. It is very dated and the shower was a bit scary.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location, friendly, good value, convenient. Good bed
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Convenient location for our needs. Room was ok. It was clean.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room wall paper trim was torn and falling off.
.The shower was drity and molding The bed was a second hand mattress The wood trim is falling off.We would have left but we were very tried The room in general was very drity.Iv ..
- Bob (8/5): - If you’re looking for a quick overnight before crossing the border, this works. Easy access for a walk along the waterfront
- Timothy (8/5): Great Service and Location - Right by the bay which was visible from our door, even on the 1st floor. Amazing service from all, the manager Jae is doing a great job. Cassidy really helped us out as well. All were kind and understanding, going beyond the call of duty. Older on the outside, inside the rooms felt new and comfy. Would stay again!
- Mohammed (6/5): - The customer service made up for the old facilities. It served my purpose of having a place to rest at end of day. Close to food and ocean view from room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Outside looked very rundown but room was fine. Clean and comfotable. Bed, tv, fridge, microwave and coffee maker all worked well. They did minimal cleaning the four days I was there. Did mot make the bed up, nor restock except towel and garbage. But I would stay there again.
- Alison (8/5): Friendly staff, clean and comfy - Little rough around the edges but clean, comfortable and quiet room.
Nice staff.
- Alison (8/5): We would stay again - Hotel is very old but our room was clean and comfortable. The area is loud (train and seagulls) but we slept with a fan on so slept great. Nice big tv and a full coffee maker.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean and reasonably priced. Good location, nice people.
- Kimberley (6/5): Comfortable and clean - Room was clean. Bedding was white. Odor of smoke was in the room but I read this in previous reviews so I brought a candle and my diffuser
- Samuel (6/5): - It was a decent room. Beautiful Blaine but people were kind of sketchy.
- Pam (6/5): - Friendly staff. Room was basically OK, but rather "funky".
- Guest (6/5): - Hotel is in a nice location right by the bay. It has a lot of potential. The staff was very friendly. The mattress was newish. It was very quiet. However, the wall were filthy. Huge stains running down them and torn wallpaper. Basically the hotel is so old and dingy that it's hard to tell if it's clean. I think it was pretty clean, but it badly needs a new facelift. Please know that this place also rents by the week so it's far, far, far from a Holiday Inn or similar.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Old, outdated and rundown!
All the rooms are 'non' smoking, so every room has a chair outside in front of the door where everyone smokes so the rooms reek of cigarette smoke.
The staff was very nice and attentative.
The bed had a decent mattress
- Verified traveler (2/5): Roach Motel - In 40 years of travel we have never (in the US) experienced such an awful motel room. The room was dirty, it had a weird stench in it and had cobwebs, no toiletries. The curtains didn't close were old and didn't fit the window. I had to use my barrette to hold the curtains together so we could have privacy. At check in they took a Xerox copy of our drivers license and wouldn't give it back at check out. When we went to check out the office was closed and had a note on it that said they wouldn't be back until 9am so we had to wait. There were stains on walls, the baseboard was coming off in multiple places and there was mold everywhere. The shower was awful, had mold around it and almost no water pressure. Just a small stream of water came out. The shower faucet was broken and we had to keep adjusting it as we showered. We would never stay there again!
- Nicole (4/5): Old & Worn Out - First room, although "non-smoking", reeked of smoke and disgusting, so we asked to be moved. Desk person accomodating and moved us to a better room, but still a bit of smoke smell, cigarette burn on bedspread, large cobweb in kitchen area. lots of peeling paint areas, toilet very difficult to flush, took several tries. This place is in desperate need of updating everything! Would NOT recommend it.
- Robert (8/5): - The room was very adequate & for our needs & well priced thank you.
- patti (6/5): Old falling apart but oddly very clean and comfy! - So I do many many reviews on hotels and restaurants but this one I must write about . If you are used to 4/5 star or even confront Inn style this one will shock you when you walk in cause it is old dated small and not even close to up to date with decor and old smoke was slightly in the air however it was cozy and actually cleaner than some of the comfort inn style ones I’ve stayed at . The bed was amazingly comfortable and the place had an ease about it . I said to myself I have to write about this place when I got home . So if you are a princess this is not your place but if you want a strangely unique quiet comfortable place to spend the night , book it but don’t expect too much more than that .
- Lisa (8/5): Sweet town, lovely location - This hotel was clean and comfortable, a bit dated, but pleasant overall. The town is sweet and there was plenty to do without driving from the Saturday Market to the vintage passenger ferry ride and lovely walks and vistas.
- gregory (8/5): Good place for a quick stay! - Good location right next to border, great view of area. Very friendly people.
