Sheryl (3/5): Very disappointed & unfortunately left with a terrible experience!!! - The location Not clean, a lot mould on the bathroom shower ceiling this could of easily been wiped off, loads of dust on the shower surround, the bed was extremely uncomfortable with the thinnest pillows - no dish cloth with a well used scourer, we have stayed here several times over the years - this time we were absolutely shocked at the state of everything for $275 p/n. Disappointed as we will not return !!!

MayBe (3/5): Probably not worth the money - The bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows. I have back and neck problems, so that was a real relief. When I spoke to the man, he was kind and helpful. Ample room and enough furniture for 1-2 adults. Everything works fine - fridge, lights electrical equipment. The office was unattended when I arrived, however, staff arrived when I called them on my phone. The rooms, decor and quality of furnishings, wall and floor coverings are all very dated and some very worn. Some areas in the kitchen and bathroom weren't clean, even mould in the shower crevices. It wouldn't hurt to carry out a bit of home maintenance. The room smelt musty/fusty, so I turned on the fan and opened the door. Sadly, it is on a fairly busy road and not far from 2 intersections, so the sounds traffic pervade the night air. Not what I would expect for the price I paid.

Donna (7/5): Although the garden and grounds were unkept, we were pleasantly surprised by the rooms. - Rooms were very clean and tidy and pool well kept. Staff member at check in was lovely. The rubbish lying around and the cleanliness of the outside. Rubbish under the stairs and gardens unkept. The old restaurant had no curtains and lots of untidy mess inside. It was very unsightly but was pleasantly surprised by the room. Our first impression was what have we booked!
Peroth (3/5): Very poor performance. - Pool This facility made me to pay an extra $200 as deposit even for a single night stay and hasn’t been repaid yet. It’s been 2 weeks now after the stay not paid back. Too bad.
lynette (9/5): Great thank you - My sister in law and I travelled down from Brisbane. Family member competing in an Aquathon in the local area. We were in an excellent location to visit her events. We dont have two or three sentences in this area. Perhaps access to opening the back gate, we were on foot and had to go back to the front. As the reception was not open we did not want to bother anybody.

Andrei (8/5): Just what is needed for an overnight stay in the area: spacious and comfortable - We just needed a place for an overnight stay to catch up with our visiting relatives, for which the Runaway Bay Motor Inn suited really well. Chose a room with a spa, which helped with relaxing. The room was very spacious too, you don't see it very often these days. A small and quiet Bayview Waters beach (no surf in this part of Gold Coast) is a 5-minute drive away. Bathroom fixtures look cheap and out of date, due for a facelift. Powerpoints near the bed (yes!) but on one side only (oh no...). TV unit tight in its niche, so no chance to plug the laptop in.

Richters (6/5): Good stay, wld have given higher rating except for $200 deposit - great location and enjoyed the stay. I don’t like the $200 deposit that is drawn from account, checked out on the Sunday and Thursday still haven’t received it, phoned up and told 7-14 days - in this economy that’s too long. Worked in hotels/hospitality for years and guest only needed to supply CC details but the card wasn’t drawn on at all unless room/items missing or damaged.

Gary (4/5): The location was ideal for the purpose of my visit, but in future I would not return. - The unit was quite bright and airy. The bed was comfortable. Despite the sign in the shower stating that towels etc that required laundering should be left on the floor of the shower cubicle, mine were not laundered during my entire stay. Crumbs on the kitchenette floor remained there my entire stay. There was no broom, brush, or dustpan to pick them up. Cutlery etc was extremely limited.

Wesley (9/5): 1 night stay - Location was great as it was close to an event we attended in Runaway Bay. Shops were close and local malls. Upgraded to family room to accommodate out bed requirements which was great! Hotel itself was comfortable for our short stay. Reception unattended having to call someone for assistance. I paid a $200 bond by card and still waiting for it to be returned 5 days later. Recommend paying by cash so you can receive it back once you leave.

Grace (1/5): Terrible experience - Initial impressions weren’t good, as while driving up to the front of the property, a stranger on the street started screaming at me and ran at my car, so it appears that the area isn’t great. The booking listing said check in was available until 11pm, however when I arrived on site at 9pm, I found the place completely dark with no lights on at entry. Tried to call the number provided on the listing and it was disconnected. While trying to work through the issue with Booking.com the police arrived and started doing searches at the rear of the inn. Finally after about half an hour and booking.com emailing the hotel, someone came out to reception, who said they usually only accepted check in until 9pm. Then they proceeded to argue that I should have just called the number on the small sign in the door, even though it was completely not visible with zero lighting, rather than contacting the number on the booking listing. I ended up telling them I didn’t feel comfortable staying there so left and slept in my car, but even with all of this, they refused to refund the booking. This place should be ashamed and I would encourage others to avoid staying here. I was also really disappointed in how Booking.com handled the situation given the time of night and dangerous environment; just citing policy around email response timeframes before offering an alternative solution.

When we arrived at about 4:00pm our assigned room had not been cleaned from previous users. When given a new room the light switch in the kitchen could not be used as it was faulty.

Debbie (5/5): Clean affordable but lacks access to primary facilities eg TV and air con control. - It was very clean and a good size. The TV did not work and I tried a number of ways of checking it was on even changing the batteries in the remote with some of mine but to no avail. (I returned the original batteries to the remote after) but I could not contact the desk to ask for help. There is no book to look at for the facilities in the room. There is no internal phone and the office is ostensibley closed all day as you have to ring them during the day just to get your key. It was nightime when I returned to my room after dinner and tried the TV. You have no contrtol over your air con. It is either off or on. They gave me a remote when I pestered for it only to find the remote only aloows you to turn on or off. No milk provided for a cup of tea.

The place is run on the smell of an oily rag..more like a student barracks...no comfort what so ever..no milk for a morning cup of tea..Bathroom light did not work...the place is ancient and it looks it!..needs full renovations...outside the rooms could do with a good clean...dirty, grubby stairwells and walkways to room..etc..etc..
