Guest Reviews
- Angelica (1/5): We weren’t even able to stay or sleep there because the room was so dirty and the beds even have lil bugs on them. Serio - nothing to like about it. it was dirty, moldy and dusty.
- Ed1964 (10/5): -
- tony (1/5): bad - What Breakfast, wouldn't recommend to anyone nothing
- Cory (1/5): -
- Elaine (4/5): -
- Ivo (4/5): -
- Maree (1/5): -
- Don (3/5): Very disappointing. - No breakfast available but the location was good although very noisy Facilities where not as listed on the app. Very little in the way of kitchen ware and cooking needs. Very limited toiletries.
- Stuart (3/5): Only stayed because notyhing else was available. - Convenient location. It was clean. The place, inside and out, was very run-down. Holes in the walls patched with paper and paint. Broken doors on the wardrobe and the kitchenette sink bench. Rotten wood in the shower surrounds. Lavatory cistern defective. Towels worn and threadbare.
- Carol Ann (3/5): - sugar in cup and on plate
- Monica (4/5): Comfy bed however, room had a foul odour. Room in general requires updating. - Bed was comfortable Stains on the carpet and foul odour. Tight parking spaces. On very busy road, every time a truck drove past, it rocked the room.
- Mark (9/5): -
- Susanne (1/5): Horrific Expensive. Stayed at other motels in TA for less and excellent facilities - Absolutely nothing to like. It was appalling No kitchen to cook or to wash dishes
No milk for coffee
Curtains not matching and stained with?
Double bed bumpy and spare bed warn out
- Barry (2/5): -
- Eric (1/5): Terrible - Everything except the bed
- Wairama (2/5): Even at cheaper rates a motel needs to meet certain standards - Location close to where I needed to be early morning. Manager up graded me to a better equipped room after I realised room I had booked was totally in adequate for a motel room. Awful smell in bathroom area. I bought my own bleach to try and stop it. Whole motel area both outside and inside rooms needed urgent maintenance including basics such as cleaning windows, reasonable quality bedding ( small holes in sheets). On arrival manager immediately suggested I upgrade my room to full kitchenette. I understood why when I saw the room I had booked I still would have taken the original room if it had met the minimum requirement of a motel and had safe entry. Outside original room the supposed pathway needed major work and was quite unsafe.
- Beaton (5/5): - Location
- Ramon (5/5): -
- Mark (10/5): -
- Babs (6/5): It was nice location. Noisey trucks shakes the motel when they drive past - Location Needs some upgrading
- Rose (3/5): - Easy to get in to It needs a massive makeover and clean. Everything looks old and well used
- Birgit (7/5): -
- Liz (1/5): HORRIFIC - Horrific banging noises for about an hour at 2am and people swearing
- James (6/5): Woken by aggressive neighbpur - The staff was nice and appreciated him contacting me prior. It was adequately furnished and provided for. And reasonably priced. Was a park outside though felt a bit cramped if otgers were there. It was pretty bland and felt a bit skody. It was clean enough though. Just had a bit of a run down feel. The traffic was loud. And a man close by woke me up in the morning morning yelling, swearing and banging loudly for about an hour. He sounded aggressive and it felt a bit threatening. I dont know whether he was on the property or close by but he sounded unhinged. It was a bit scary.
- Matthew_NZ (2/5): It was the only place available - It was literally the only place in town with availability The wifi was very unreliable, the red curtains don't block out any light and give the place a creepy red glow, there's only one power point in the bedroom, and the reception isn't staffed most of the time which made it hard to check in. It's on a very busy road with road works happening right outside.
The guy two doors down was up all night having a screaming and swearing competition with himself all night long outside the room. It went all night and made for a very bad sleep. For $160 per night I don't expect to have to put up with that.
- Joy (2/5): Dissatisfied - Couldn't have a spa bath water was cold, cutlery was dirty we had to rewash everything in a very very small bathroom sink. Wifi didn't work. Needs work done on these rooms.
- Ashwin (2/5): - It was extremely disappointing.
- Hugh (6/5): - Pretty basic, free toiletries were just 2 small soap bars only, the 2 towels for showers were the size of larger teatowels, walls had holes covered with tape and painted over and the free wifi kept disconnecting to the extent l had to hotspot from my phone so l could watch programs from my laptop.
- Vicki (6/5): - For a 1 night stay it was convenient
- Stephen (10/5): -
- Josh (4/5): - The staff were friendly Almost everything, while I appreciate the allowed later check in on the Friday evening . That's where it all went down hill. Tape holding doors. Holes repaired badly. The whole vibe of the room was beyond outdated, sheets stained. Etc.
- Brendon (2/5): Give it a miss!!!! - The unit (2) was filthy and in desperate need of a refurbishment.
The worst thing was the filthy bathroom. I think they missed it when cleaning the unit as the shower and toilet were both dirty. The toilet still had faeces under the seat. Shower had black mould, soap scum and spider webs. No hot water or water pressure so were unable to shower.
The sheets had stains, obviously not commercially cleaned. Curtains were dirty. Had been repainted at some stage but was just slapped on over imperfections, switches etc.
A power cord came from outside into the room from a hole in the wall and was plugged into a standard power socket. We found out this was the wifi.
Definitely not worth the money paid. Will not stay here again.
- Susan (6/5): - I appreciate that there are old photos in the advertisement for the motel and that it is in need of tlc. I found the owners to be friendly and helpful. IReception is clean and tidy, my unit with a little more cleaning would be great the bed was comfortable and apart from the noise of the traffic my stay was okay but it was ruined by a rowdy, rude male next door to ruin it.
- Paula (4/5): - The people running it were lovely. Would not go back.
- Marilyn (2/5): Very poor -
- Fleur (6/5): - It was damp, slugs on the floors and condensation max! It was dripping onto the floor during the night. The toilet had issues in the middle of the night we couldn’t fix so was awake from the noise from 3am onwards. Very sad but the staff were friendly.
- Elaine (4/5): Disappointing - Close to Town Almost everything
Not good facilities and place looked dirty inside and out
No toaster, microwave.
- Clarke (5/5): Passable - Handy area I guess you get what you pay for but only budget
- Iris (1/5): Bad - The room was really cold. It had no heater. I was booked for 2 nights but only stayed one night
- Sharlene (10/5): Exceptional -
- Serena (3/5): Poor - Nothing Was smelly an old could've been a lot better for price
- Kevin (6/5): Pleasant - Handy location Average quality roadside motel. Shower water flow and pressure poor. Parking limited. If you got back late others would be parked outside your room.
- Sean (2/5): - Just dont
- Gavin (1/5): never again - Location The whole room was in disrepair. Bathroom had patched holes in walls, shower was pathetic. Kitchen was rough and dirty. Asked for a single room with Queen bed end up in a room with 3 beds squeezed into a single sized room.
- Gregory (8/5): Very good to stay at -
- Wendy (6/5): - Mediocre place to stay which is very run down and in need of doing up.
- Bryce (1/5): Worst motel I have ever been in. - Location was fine. Worst motel I have ever been in.
No air conditioning, no microwave, very hot and stuffy, poor quality furnishings; tatty carpet mats and painted breezeblock walls.
Just like a crappy 1970's cheap flat.
I only stayed about 20 minutes. The time it took me to google another motel.
- Shirley (5/5): Passable - We didn't have breakfast there. Very noisy with lots of trucks for most of the night. I do prefer running water in the kitchen and not have to fill the kettle in the bathroom basin. Tea and coffee were provided but no hot chocolate.
- Rimmer (1/5): Bad -
- Luke (2/5): Glad we finished work a day early. - It was close to the town centre.. all be it a small town It’s right on the main road. The unit shakes as heavy trucks drive past. The lights blind through the curtains at night. The door handle in the bathroom had clearly broken before and been poorly fixed resulting in someone getting stuck in the bathroom. The lights didn’t all work in the unit.
- Roland (4/5): - We booked 2 rooms, no hot water. Bed uncomfortable, could feel the coils. Noisy street. Sink had no plug, no cloth to wash dishes and no tea towel. Looked like they had revamped the toilet seat with a paint.
- Dia (1/5): Old , outdated and grubby . A real feel of ewww. - Location . It was close to where I needed to be . The damp smell . The mismatched bedding , the crispy towels ,the sheets were flannel .the oillows smelt bad . The bed cover didn’t look like it had been cleaned from prev user .
I
I felt dirty but didn’t shower because the towels were these grey printed hard tiny things . I know it was a cheap motel but no excuse for dirty . The whole feel of the place was gross .
Checking in and checking out was great . Lovely guy at reception . But I would never ever stay here again
- Diane (4/5): Disappointing -
- Sheyne (8/5): Very good -
- Pease (1/5): Bad -
- Nui (5/5): Passable -
- Daniel (1/5): Would not recommend -
- Harata (7/5): Good -
- Raymond (8/5): - Close to shopping etc
- Norman (4/5): - The property was very old and in poor condition.
It appears as though it is being updated and this could change things. The proprietor was very nice.
- Carolina Narona (2/5): Poor - Not so good. The whole motel condition is very poor. Won't recommend it to anyone.
- Bruce (3/5): Poor -
- daryl (8/5): Fantastic - Not far from the best roast takeaway place you will ever have
I also really like the whole white paint theme they have got going
- Darryl (2/5): - The worst property I have stayed in 40 years of travel. Room not serviced, no smoke alarms. Holes in multiple walls covered in tape and painted over. Hot water flow next to useless. The whole room had been painted with little regard for masking over light switches, taps, benches. No breakfast offered and general amenity was from the 50’s without updating. Reception was abrupt. Avoid at all costs. I moved to another property during the paid-for period
- Marlene (1/5): Disgusting! Wouldn’t recommend staying here. - Location on a very busy main highway. Room condition- carpet dirty with marks all over.
Curtains disgusting with grease marks, holes and not hooked up to curtain rail properly.
Bathroom- soap tray in shower held together by masking tape. Towel rail rusty and not fitted to wall.
No toiletries as stated on booking information. Only small soap x 2.
Had to wash louvre window net curtain as stiff with dust and dirt. Louvres needed a wipe down as did window sill.
NO FIRE ALARM or SPRINKLER. NO FIRE EVACUATION INSTRUCTIONS as to where to assemble in case of fire.
NO Information booklet.
No doormat- a bathmat in place of.
Manager not welcoming..
utensils / china had used marks over them.
A microwave would have been nice.
- Rosie (5/5): Won’t ever stay there again - I paid $2OO for one night and it was hori as! We have stayed in flasher motel/hotels for the same price
- Caroline (1/5): Bad -
- Karen (1/5): Only option when booking...never again!! - Fridge seemed clean Very rough and poorly maintained, run-down units. Shower walls, windows filthy. All furnishings worn and dirty. Fresh white paint on some walls very roughly applied. Smelly stained carpet. Outside very unkept and rough.
- Potter (1/5): Bad - Nothing The room was smelly, the front door did not open easily. The unit was cold with no heater or extra blankets. The bedding was thin , the pillow on the single bed was dirty. The 2 cups plates and knives/forks were displayed on the table as there was no cupboards. No sink etc. For $159 it was disgusting. The smoke alarm had been removed. We left and did not stay the 2 nights as planned.
- Paul (1/5): I regret having paid so much for this accommodation. - Nothing If I was charged a quarter of the price, it would have still been expensive.
There were stains on much of the furniture [looked as if it was recycled] and the pillowcase.
The only light switch for the room was by the entrance door with a single ceiling light. The other light was in the bathroom. The cutlery was not clean. Didn't use it. There were people moving around outside the room during the night.
I regret having paid for this accommodation before I arrived,
Unfortunately, there were few options, but I should have taken note of the previous reviews.
This standard of accommodation shouldn't be on booking.com.
- Trevor (1/5): Don't - Location suited Dirty and outdated. Obviously full of Gov't homeless. I was woken at 4.am by someone selling drugs. Was supposed to be 2 nights but left after one.
- Nigel (4/5): Disappointing -
- Gary (1/5): We wanted a place for an overnight sleep and we got that. - Brand new cooking elements and the fridge was large and worked well. On arrival a note to tell me I had to ring the manager for the key. He arrived 5 minutes later and told me he had to fix the toilet leak. Immediately after he finished, the toilet flush did not work. I called him back to fix but the cistern but once filled it continued to run and the flow of water continued to run into the bowl. The shower was so bad that the water really only trickled out. There were only 2 small hand soaps for 3 people. There was no dishwashing liquid or brushes to do the dishes. The parking space outside the rooms was small and gave little space for others to drive past. The rooms are old and hygiene and cleanliness were not good. The towels were small and only 1 per person.
- Hohepa (1/5): Avoid this place!! - Nothing I didnt like ANYTHING...This lodge is very outdated. The room was musty, so much so that I just left and cut my losses...I lay down for about 5 minutes and ended up leaving to find somewhere else to stay.
- Tony (8/5): - Clearly the place is being spruced up. Worked well for us
- Tamara (5/5): Passable -
- Jane (4/5): Disappointing -
- Ross (8/5): - This was a booking for 4 people....The manager was nice when we got there, explaned that they are doing up a unit so would be a bit of a mess outside( cool). We entered to find a very small tv and sky box on a roughly panited tv stand a table for only 2 people, only 2 plates, knives, forks etc didnt explain how to turn on the hot water for the shower which had extremely low pressure. No way to cook a meal on the stove no microwave in the unit. It was roughly painted inside, and over holes snd switches. Paint on curtians and the windows hard to shut, and the wardrobe door handle came off in your handno curtain to cover the glass front door facing the main rd, not enough seating for people to relax, broken lights, no dish cloth or plug for the sink. The toilet seat was roughly painted and looked awful just the start of my list but i think you get the picture by now. To finish off this stay we had some friends visit in the form of cockroaches. Wont stay here again......
- Morgan (1/5): As above - Nothing Unit was disgusting, carpet stains curtain were stained worse motel ive ever stayed in. No smoke detector.would not recommend to anyone let alone family or friends
- Daniel (2/5): - The Property should not be in operation.
Is is in terrible condition.
- Mark (2/5): - Sky. Channel
- Tuirirangi (1/5): Bad - Never happened, we were told, we had no booking We were told ,he don't deal with Booking.com ,
- Wayne (1/5): I booked and paid but was told dont use booking.com and they were full - I booked online and paid online for one night's stay by booking, com. I arrived and was told that they no longer use booking.com and that they were full and overbooked. I would like a refund for the money I spent on a night's accommodation and never received. Feedback on Booking.com is very hard as I have feedback on my recent trip overseas about your service. I am not happy. I booked online and paid online for one night's stay by booking, com. - Verified traveler (4/5): - This was the worse Motel I have every stayed at. Poor facilities, couldn't check in at the check in time, had to park my car on the street, only had a jug in my room and the place is been used for temporary accommodation. The people next door were awake most of the night and I couldn't sleep. This Motel should be taken off the Wotif website. Wouldn't stay here again.
- Amelia (2/5): - Wasn’t what we expected room wasn’t that clean had an odour smell through the unit shower was poor water pressure and worst of all we slept with cockroaches not very happy
- Chris (6/5): - Excellent location. Property was outdated. Would be nice to have a microwave in the room
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Nice to see garden around property, just a shame a little noisey with a road each side.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Could of had a toaster at least. Only could mak a cup of tea or coffee
- GordonBeattie (2/5): - This Motel was terrible. We did not stay there as conditions were so bad. Everything looked old and dirty and unkept.
We would reccommend that you remove it from your web site.
We would also like to be refunded the $99 we paid , as we did not stay.
Regards Gordon Beattie.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very run down not at all very good at all could do with some money being spent on some up grades and new bedding and a decent cleaning
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Badly stayed kitchen chair and carpet. The hand basin had like big burn marks and a chip out of the hand basin.
In the twin room I stayed in they didn’t have any dinner plates. Also the room can hold 3 people, expect there was only two of plates, cups, and life and fork.
They don’t even supply a flannel, any extra blankets or pillows that alone a Iron.
In the family room that the people I was with had a hole in the ceiling.
There is only one door in all the units so if there was a fire in the room and you couldn’t get to the door you be stuck.
There no nets curtain so in you have to pull the blinds to stop any one seeing into your room.
- Traveller (8/5): - All we needed for a stop over. No frills accomodation for a dtop over.
- O (2/5): - Filthy. Dirty. Noisey. Pokey. Out dated.Would not reccomend. Not even a plug for the hand basin come sink.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was a handy location to our next destination and easy to find. In the motel rooms, you needed more blankets it was very cold. The decor was a bit dated.
- Fred (8/5): - Nothing spectacular but good value for money. Economical one night sleep over spot. Price correctly for what you get.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Cheap for TA - The place is a bit old but tidy. It can be noisy at night with a main road just a few meters away,
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Curb appeal wasn't that great, disappointing upon my arrival. Staff member who greeted me was ok but could have welcomed me better. I had to wait for the room to be cleaned before I could use the room. I would never stay there again, considering the main road and how close this is to it, and it seems really dangerous in terms of the room we had because it felt like a vehicle, truck could crash straight into the room. I did not feel safe in that room especially when I had my three young children with me. The amenities need serious upgrading. The stove was rusted and old looking. I would not pay this amount for what service and room we received.
- Rosamund (6/5): - The Motel was OK, but very run down and in need of some refreshing paintwork.
But the manager was welcoming and friendly.
It would have been good to have a toaster.
- Angie (8/5): Clean, cozy and central. - It was comfortable, clean and central.
The children enjoyed the hotel experience in the family unit. We went opshopping Saturday morning and got some good scores. We visited the museum , which was very interesting and then went to local park for a walk with the children, nice playground and water and ducks. Would have visited the rose gardens if it was the season of blooms.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very small room that was ment to be a studio suite. Very outdated and over priced
