Karen (2/5): - If you plan to stay here, I would suggest you bring the following….all cleaning products, cloths etc. Flyspray! All cooking utensils…there are pots and pans but no utensils. Hand soap…there is none! Also, will need to request clean towels as they picked mine up from the floor and hung it so nice and wet in the morning. Check the drapes in your room as I checked 3 rooms before finding one where the curtains closed fully. Bring a blanket as in the middle of winter they have a sheet and thin cover on the bed, no electric blanket, no spare blankets. Bring salt and pepper…they have none. Most importantly bring google translate set to Chinese as they barely speak English. THE MOST DISGUSTING PLACE. EXPEDIA SHOULD REMOVE THIS FROM THERE LIST.

Verified traveler (4/5): - Beds were the worst you could imagine. Broken springs, rock hard beds, may as well have slept on the floor. Carpet had rips, mould on the ceilings, woollen blankets? really? it's worst thing an asthmatic can come across, mould and wool. Seriously need to update or bulldoze this property it's a health hazard. The outside swing is a real concern and an accident waiting to happen. The only good thing was the linen.

Verified traveler (4/5): - Unfortunately this property is very run down and this makes it feel grimy. I will not return and suggest others avoid (despite lure of low price) until the owners pay some attention to extremely poor state of units (frayed cords, torn, gritty carpet, etc)

Verified traveler (2/5): - It was cheap. what didn't like - specifically: the heater was totally inadequate, the bed was the hardest I have ever come across, the plug was too small for the was basin, the microwave should have been thrown out ages ago and replaced by something that worked properly.

Country (4/5): - Needs improvement. Hardly any kitchenware, room was not clean, toilet needs repair (it kept running and would splash onto the floor every time you flushed it), we found a huge live cochroach in our room. Sorry, but I won't stay there again.

Shellie (8/5): Nice but a bit dated. - It was a huge surprise to find we had 3 separate bedrooms, although a bit cold the heaters provided improved that. We enjoyed our stay and I could say we would definitely book again at the Ascot motel. We did have a couple of queries but none of which are bad.
Michelle (4/5): No understanding or compassion - I had to check out a day earlier as 2 family members died suddenly. I got the phone call from Australia. I'm from Australia and was holidaying in NZ. The call came in at 11 an NZ time which was 9 am Australia time. I rang reception explaining what had happened. When taking key back told cleaners have gone check out time is 10 am. There was no comparison what so ever. No exception. I would have thought a family members death so suddenly would be an exception. My room was not at all clean sink dirty stove 2 front elements not working. Cobwebs in shower. Couch back you could feel the wooden frame. Kitchen table has cardboard under the foot not level. Power points not at all in bathroom np fan for steam. Very old run down place.i was to take photos to show but due to the sudden deaths I didnt have time.

Margaret (8/5): from the 60s but clean and comfortable. many beds - this motel was probably built in the 60s. so it doesn't look modern and flash when you go in. BUT. don't let that deter you. it is extremely clean...AND has a bath. not many have baths these days.. also ha a shower.. was awkward tho in the bath. I didn't have soap. I had to get up and put the soap foam from the basin. that was a pain. great pillows. comfortable bed. continental breakfast only. would have loved to have had a cooked breakfast available. but the breakfast was nice. very warm. good heater
Brian (6/5): - The property is tired, built in the early 1960's and not updated since. Needs to be modernised and re-equipped to justify the nightly charge. Also, the condiments need to be fresh, stale tea bags do not make good tea. One electric blanket and a single power outlet for two single beds is totally inadequate.

Double bed very uncomfortable sore back material very old style & outdated same with the single beds hard uncomfortable??? 3) very cold/damp / condensation. I believe the units directly across from the office are in a better condition then the units behind which is where we were??? upgrade needed??
Katarina (6/5): Value for money - Enjoyed our stay as was close to our function and had everything we needed. It is an older style motel, but was clean and comfortable. Only issue was our unit was right next to a busy main road so we could hear traffic throughout the night.

Haualofaia (6/5): - The staff were very good and they accommodated for our need for late check time (2 hours) at no extra cost, which was greatly appreciated. We also have an extra adult to add to our booking when we checked in. The rooms were clean but the furniture are a bit outdated. The sofa in the lounge was so uncomfortable that caused back aches to whoever sat on it. One of the single beds was so hard so was very uncomfortable. Grateful for a room on top of our heads for one night but I recommend that they consider replacing those chairs and beds.

Alyssa (2/5): Keep looking - Booked a room with my husband as we had an early morning appointment in Hamilton. There was not a lot of vacancies in the area so we ended up here. Big mistake. The owners were pleasant enough however the rooms are outdated and uncomfortable. From our room I could here EVERY vehicle that passes from the road. The carpet felt dusty. The bed was small, springy and quite old. To add to that my husband was woken up around midnight with itchy bites from the bed. We spent most of the night scratching away. Despite being tired I did not sleep a wink. For the same price I'm sure you can find better accommodation elsewhere.

Jim (6/5): motel in hamilton - Overall this could be an excellent motel, our apartment no6 was good size and next to an outdoor swim pool. Towels and bed linen were excellent, and room cleaned everyday to a good standard. Couple of takeaways nearby ( unfortunate we arrived on a Monday and they were shut) but several open approx 2-3km away.
Steve (10/5): Oldie but a goodie - Tell me what is wrong with a bedroom, a full kitchen, toilet and shower at the price because I can not find anything wrong with it. We booked 4 units and everyone (15 of us) had the time of there lives. The hardest part was dragging everyone away from the pool. All of us will be back.
luke (6/5): Economy motel that ticked all the boxes - Helpful management. Assisted with extra towels. Motel was inexpensive, not too far from town easy to find. Google maps thinks the road is dual carriage way. It isnt and you can turn right to enter directly.
Richard (8/5): Clean motel with friendly staff - We just needed a place to sleep as we were busy in Hamilton everyday. We were able to sleep well in this motel, so that was great. The shower was pretty weak (just a trickle) but the hot water did not run out. The motel was clean and tidy and the staff were friendly. Lots of ants climbed into the kitchen through the kitchen window.
