• Antony (8/5): Beach B&B - The B&B was situated across the road from the beach. Room was a decent size and comfortable. We never saw the host and we self checked in and out. Breakfast was continental and reasonable for $20 each. Would have been nice to meet the host as we don't bite......well not during the day!

The retrieval of the room key was very clever! Given reviews we were expecting to meet the owners to get advice on the area but we probably arrived too late and saw no one in the morning

As I have an Allergy to pineapple, they were more than happy to make a breakfast bowl just for me. It was delicious and all so fresh the weather :-) we had hoped to whale watch, but the wind and rain stopped that. But the friendliness of the owner made that much easier
• Patricia M (10/5): Kaikoura keeper!! - Great view of the ocean In Kaikoura. Good location to easily walk into town and enjoy a meal at one of many restaurants. Our room was spacious, bright, comfortable and well-appointed. Delicious continental breakfast!
• steven (10/5): - In The Bay (great name!) is in a very good location clear of the hubbub of Kaikoura town center and yet on the sea front with fabulous views. It was just as advertised with good, well maintained facilities and spacious rooms with well appointed bathrooms. Breakfast was fresh and very convenient.
• Glenda (8/5): Very good - Kylie was very welcoming. Our, room was spacious & we also had the full use of the guest dining/sitting room. Continental breakfast was enough for us & we enjoyed the homemade bread. The bed really needs replacing-it wasn’t very comfortable.
• Jalene (10/5): - We stayed in the Endeavour room and loved how spacious it was, as well as the view of the ocean from our room! The bathroom (shower especially) was amazing! Staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast provided was so great! There was also a lovely little sitting area outside for us to listen to the sounds of the ocean while enjoying our coffee/tea/breakfast. We thought the bed was going to be too soft for us, but we still had a pretty decent sleep. We did notice some dust and cobwebs in the higher corners of the room, but this wasn’t a huge deal to us, as overall everything else was otherwise clean. Enjoyable stay!

Sitting area was on the drive in which was not ideal but if you had an upstairs room this problem would be negated. Breakfast was in-room and everything was there that would be required. Bathroom was gorgeous.

• David (10/5): A relaxing and very comfortable B&B with a helpful host. - A lovely room that's stylish and very clean and comfortable. The bathroom is glorious with a wonderful shower. Breakfast was plentiful and had lovely special touches such as really nice honey. The beach is across the street and the walk around the headland to the seal sanctuary passes the front door. Very accommodating host who was very helpful.

The location was perfect, right on the beachfront, a short drive from a seal reserve. And it's great for kids, as it is across the street from a nice playground.

• Grahame (8/5): Cosy B & B in a great location in Kaikoura. - Great location opposite the beach. Our room was very clean and comfortable for our 2-night stay. The bathroom appeared to be renovated recently. Our hosts, Luke and Kylie, were very welcoming and helpful. The included continental breakfast was fresh and perfectly suitable for us as we are not big breakfast eaters. Our room, which was located facing the road, was very quiet. I'm not sure if the room at the back of the property would be a better option during busy times. Nothing really.

Beautifully presented room with the most impressive shower recess of our 3 week road trip. 10 minute walk to The Pier restaurant and 15 minute stroll into town where we spent an evening in the iconic Strawberry Tree Irish pub where the food and Guinness were excellent. And then of course there were the seals and their pups nearby. Luke and Kylie are doing an amazing job balancing family duties, careers and Inn the Bay. Having experienced the 2016 earthquake and dealt with the pandemic, they deserve every credit for maintaining their business at such a high standard. All visitors to NZ should put Kaikōura on their list. Nothing

• David (10/5): The perfect base to enjoy Kaikoura. - The position is ideal to get the best from Kaikōura. 15 mins walk to the town centre but quiet and relaxed . Luke and Kylie are the perfect hosts. The room was spacious with a good view of the bay. Good off-road parking and generous breakfast. Nothing!

Pleasantly surprised to find this was a small intimate family run Inn with our own lounge kitchen area to enjoy quiet space to relax and eat our breakfast in the morning. Would highly recommend staying here.

We stayed in the room with the Queen and Single beds and the facilities were amazing. The property has a shared living room but the other guests that were checked in were friendly and approachable. Thank you to Kylie who made my sister and mine's stay at Kaikoura magnificent!

Breakfast was nice and easy being in the room to make ourselves, and the location being right on the beach and near town was fantastic. Would highly recommend.

• James (10/5): Exceptional - Luke and Kylie were fabulous hosts, Luke greeted us and gave us great tip on a hiking trail that we did the day after our arrival. We saw hundreds of fur seals, got a great workout and a wonderful lunch at the Pier Hotel. The place has a great view, walking distance to town and rail line. Kylie even drove us to the station on day of departure. Would highly recommend this property.
