- Susan (10/5): - Super clean room. No view of the beach but a 2 minute walk and you’re there. Perfect for my dog I’ve been there before and I will go there again.
- John (8/5): - The quality of the shower was a challenge. The water temperature was erratic and the shower head was very loose. Stayed in early October and found the heating only just warm enough. Some family type games for rainy days would be welcome.

- Alicia (8/5): - It’s in a beach facing site but don’t expect to see the sea from the cabin. They are set in a pretty, leafy garden. Lovely and quiet. I think a coffee machine promised but cafetière & sachet of coffee very welcome. The most important thing is that the cabins & most accommodation is downhill by the sea and quite a walk from the spectacular blowholes, rocks and visitor centre which are together at the top of the hill in a different location.
- Stephen JR (6/5): Hope the chef isn't too busy. - This is a great location, set back from the beachfront wall. The property was adequate but a little tired. The bed looked a bit lumpy but we actually slept well. Biggest disappointment was the chef at the linked restaurant/bar being unable to cook for us because she had a booking for 14 due in half an hour and they took priority. We felt it was badly handled and they could have offered for us to come back later. We would have happily sat with a drink and waited. Bar staff were unresponsive to the situation. There was nowhere else to go so we had to cobble something together ourselves. It was a bit of a let down.
- Vasile (2/5): - We arrived 1 hour prior to check in time and unfortunately the unit wasn’t ready. The lady doing the check in was really nice unfortunately one of the helpers (waitress I guess) was borderline rude. The area is gorgeous but unfortunately for us it rained really heavy. The units are named “beachfront” but no unit can see the beach as all the units are behind a tall sea wall. The minuses are as follow:- the shower wasn’t functional, it has some sort of heating device which was delivering either steaming hot water (for short times) or ice cold -the internet did work AT ALL.

Only negative is that there isn’t anything much within 30 miles, but the restaurant next door is great, and they sell wine by the bottle to take away. 🙂
- Frances Lee (10/5): - This ocean front property is conveniently located to Pancake Rocks. The cabin location is ideal for touring in this area. The layout of the kitchen, bathroom, and living space is quite workable. The bedroom is a bit small but had a comfortable queen bed. The staff were very helpful and there was parking next to the cabin. Highly recommend this location.

- Donald (10/5): - Right on the beach although the ocean view from the room was blocked by an armour stone breakwall. Great view from the top of the wall which made a rough walkway along the waters edge.
- Brian (4/5): A disappointing stay - We stayed for one night in a studio. Whilst the unit had most of the things you would need and was clean, it appeared very tired and dated. The WiFi connection was virtually non existent, which meant that we couldn't actually watch the smart TV. Staff warned us about this at check in, so one has to ask why nothing has been done about it. We would certainly not stay there again.

- Scott (10/5): - These are very nice individual cabins right next to the beach. While you cannot see the beach from the units, due to the break wall being in the way, you can certainly hear the surf! The units are spacious and have very well appointed kitichens.
- Keith (10/5): - The cabin was brilliant. Spacious, clean. Location was 20 second walk to the shore, which had some picnic tables to enjoy the sunset. Highly recommend. Only note... check-in is at a pub/restaurant down the street.
- Nicholas (10/5): - Lovely room with small kitchen (which we did not use). Great location. Small bed for 2 persons, but there was a small single that my wife used. Shower was okay. Short walk to a nice restaurant and bar with a great vibe. A little confusing with address, because you have to check-in at the above mentioned restaurant.
- Gary (6/5): - Property is on the beach. Fabulous walks along the roaring ocean Staff, particularly the lady in charge of the units was not friendly or willing to be helpful. Our unit had one wine glass, one small glass, and one large glass. Clearly short on utensils. When we asked to have this corrected she said hopefully staff will fix it tomorrow!!! Not happy with lackadaisical attitude toward customer service.

- Tammy (6/5): - Was a lovely place and the scenery was great, however there was so much old accumulated dust under the rugs, couches, beds etc with our children sneezing the entire time we were there. The place needs a good vacuum and mop. In hotter months I would suggest more than just one small fan, the fan was also covered in dust.
- Grant (10/5): - Overall it’s good and location is the draw card. Could have been a bit cleaner in side, dusting etc. Otherwise great. Note a cabin we had at the only pub in town before this accommodation was woeful, dirty, lights not working terrible bed and useless shower so beware, and we paid close to the same price! The pub handle the key collection and booking for the motel.

- Iain (8/5): Best Sunset in New Zealand - You have to book in at the hotel 400 meters down the road. Cabin we had fine for the two of us and faced west overlooking the ocean giving us fantastic sunsets. The downside is that it’s situated nearly 50 kilometres from the neatest store. Only the hotel is near for dinner but is a bit expensive and limited choice. Truman trail,River walk and the Pancake Rocks are not to be missed..

- Ian (10/5): - We were given an upgrade at no extra charge meaning we had very spacious accommodation. The unit we stayed in for 3 days was the unit for persons with disabilities and we found this very easy to use. The only down side was the sofa (pull out bed) was uncomfortable to sit on and was the only lounge seating.

- Helen (10/5): - It was great to have plenty of bedrooms and really interesting being so close to the waves crashing right out side. Amazing views. The motel was older but had everything we needed and there were plenty of heaters to use, and even electric blankets on all the beds. Shower and bathroom was clean with good water pressure. We only found it tricky checking in because you had to go down to the local tavern to do so. That was the only inconvenient thing. It was amusing that the strength of the waves at high tide actually shook the double bed in that back room. But that made the stay an adventure. Lovely. Would recommend it. Don't worry, the waves didn't crash through the house like I dreamt was happening. Lol

Understandable in the West Coast environment. Got use to it, but every time I walked in after being outside you would smell it again. Might be good to air the rooms out before guests arrive perhaps . The units are located at the beachfront and short walking distance from blowholes. This is a very barren landscape that is windswept. The units were nestled in away from the wind.

There were spider webs in the corners, dead sand flies on the windows, and we found a spider on the pillow. We noticed that other, smaller units were newer or newly renovated, so if you can stay there, you will be pleased. Unfortunately, for us it was not a good experience.

One minor complaint, cottage was dusty and bedcovers were musty. But if you want a true back to nature stay without giving up modern comforts, this is your place.

- craig (6/5): - Went to get milk for the coffee and found it was opened sometime ago. Should have been new not a half used one. Shower didn’t drain so the bathroom flooded. I did tell the staff and they seemed receptive to me telling them. Just average but good value for money
- Bernard (6/5): - Checking in was a bit difficult since the manager was not on site but two blocks away at a restaurant. So it took us far too long to get to our cabin. Much of this was inadequate signage on the site. The facility was neat and clean and comfortable.

It was a bit hard to find and unclear how to check in at first but then realized we had to go to local restaurant for check in. Limited shopping in area, so come prepared with any groceries you need.

- Tammy (10/5): Wonderful Experience! - This was our favorite place of the trip. The view was absolutely gorgeous - caught the evening sunset - beautiful. Location is right on the beach. We arrived a little late for check-in but they graciously accommodated us at the restaurant. They even cooked us food after they had closed the kitchen. Wonderful people, very courteous. Also went out of their way to make us special coffee. Would highly recommend. Would love to visit again.

A few steps from the seashore, the views are million dollar views. After dinner sunset on the beach just a few steps from the property was just amazing. Room was very comfortable. Highly recommend it.

Pub Kitchen was being renovated so a very limited menu which made it hard when arriving late but understandable. Lovely owners, wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

- Damon (10/5): Gorgeous - The cabin was sooooo nice. Airy, light and spacious. Even with the torrential rain, we were warm and cosy and did not feel closed in. When it isn’t raining the walk along the breakwater is stunning. Easy walk to the local pub for a delicious meal. Easy quick drive to pancake rocks. Wish we had stayed longer.

Cottages were comfortable and spacious and well equipped and sunset views on the beach were unbeatable. We enjoyed the restaurant bar and David and staff were wonderful. Highly recommend.

Walked an angry beach in the morning and saw Punakaiki pancake rocks in the distance. Room was a little tired but, clean. Looked like typical beach front cottage. Met our needs.

The floors are unleveled the head of the bed is 2-3 inches li wet than the foot and the furniture is reminiscent of the thrift store. The closeness to pancake rock is really the only thing this one has going for it.there are towns close enough that you. Ours do better for your an accommodations .
