Guest Reviews
- Teena Fuller (7/5): -
- Keri (3/5): - Unclean. Decor needs tidying up.
- Dwan (8/5): - The bed was comfortable. The room met our needs. We stayed two nights to attend a funeral. So all we needed was a place to sleep and shower. It met our needs.
- Donna (5/5): - Availability for a overnight stay for 5 adults. No designated parking. The smell in unit was a mixture of shake & vacc power use to disguise the smell of mould! Sleeping was impossible for some as they felt the smell was in either the mattress or carpet. Mouse dropping in cutlery draw. I would not recommend this accommodation to anyone.
- Pene (6/5): - Location is great, staff were good Room had a not so nice smell in there
- Nielson (3/5): Very average, would not choose to stay again. - Breakfast was not on offer No shower pressure, grubby shower curtain, not vacuumed properly, odd musty smell, kitchen drawer had been gnawed by rats! Rest of kitchen in very average condition.
- Erena (6/5): - It was okay for a night’s rest with two boys.
- Kori (10/5): Would definitely consider staying again if our travel plans align - Location helped with our travel plans
- Shalaraye (10/5): -
- Pompey (7/5): Room12 - The location was perfect Having no transport to get to and from places
- Pompey (7/5): - Location perfect
- Amber (5/5): Time for the new owners to invest money in improving the place beyond another coat of paint - This is the closest accommodation to an event I go to each year. Every year this place gets a little worse. The toilet was on a lean. There weren’t enough cups or bowls for the people staying. The place smelt musty and there was a full ‘Damp Rid’ container in one of the wardrobes. Mattresses are SHOCKING. The afterhours phone number didn’t connect either.
- chancesworld (1/5): Unimpressed - Smelt of curry wen I first walked in.had to keep spraying perfume through out my stay,3 nites,,bedding had the odor az well,I thought they mite of gave fresh towels each day.but no,shower had no pressure, jus dripping..and pool was green
- Raewyn (8/5): The motel is old but you get what you pay for! Handy to where we needed to be for a as couple of nights. - Friendly staff and value for money. Clean and the bed was comfortable.
- Karen (7/5): -
- Trevor (5/5): It's OK, have stayed there before, it is budget & getting a little bit tired in places now. - The location was fine for our purpose
- Jan (8/5): Apart from the above comments the stay was fine thank you - Didn't stay for breakfast and the location was fine. The facilities were a bit tired and in need of a tidy up. E.G. a paint job, a new sink bench and an upgrade to the shower area.
- Wairerekura (5/5): Ok if no where else to stay excellent customer service - I could get a room Pictures were different to the uploaded pictures of motel
- Ara (2/5): Not a good experience - We checked asap We were in Unit 1 and unfortunately the condition isn’t up to the standard we were expecting.
We found parts of bugs on the bedding, there are cobwebs and spiders on the walls throughout the bathroom, toilet, bedrooms, and kitchen, and one of the bedroom lights is missing a bulb and there is insufficient towels, Additionally, some of the furniture appears to be damaged.
Given these issues, we’d like to request a refund and will plan to check out at 10:00am. We’ll come by to return the key shortly before we leave and discuss this further with you then.
Thank you.

- Christopher (9/5): Adequate for the stay I had. - Friendly The floor in the kitchen was patched and unstable.
- Ingrid (7/5): Clean and Tidy - Clean room, staff were great and convenient location. Road noise
- Lana (10/5): - Booked last minute and was very happy with our stay.
Very basic but had everything we needed.
Staff were super helpful and lovely Could do with a bit of modernization but good value for money. Would definately stay here again
- O'Keefe (1/5): - Room was dirty pool was green an an unfit for people
- Amanda (3/5): Bit of a comedy of what not to look for in a motel - Room lacked care - TV didnt work, bathroom sink was blocked, we turned on an element on the stove to cook and it set the smoke alarm off. One of the beds sheets hadnt been changed. When we plugged our phone into multi plug in kitchen - the fridge stopped working.
Other units appeared to have permanent people who had many "people pop in and visit" for about 5-10mins at a time, assumption is that it was drug deals
- Sarah (10/5): -
- Philip (4/5): Good bed for the night, but not good if you were cooking or eating or trying to watch tv. - Fridge not working, tv not working. Slept 3, but only one chair at the dining table. Insufficient cutlery. Floor vinyl was sticky.
- Marko (10/5): -
- Haley (1/5): - Location was good Advertisers that theres a pool but it doesn't say its not available. Beds had hair in them when we folded blankets sheet back. Kitchen floor had a huge rotten dip in it they have tried to cover part of it over with a metal sheet that is so sticky and yuck.

- Brent (8/5): -
- Munivai (7/5): -
- Kevin (9/5): -
- Eben (9/5): Excellent staff, very clean, comfortable and tidy. - Very clean and tidy, I really was pleasantly surprised... . The Google photos are old and made me worry initially, but I'm happy to report that they have revamped the hotel recently so everything was relatively modern and comfy.
Bed was huge, perfectly prepared and very comfortable (it even had a heated mattress!). Everything was exceptionally clean, with more than enough amenities for me to be able to relax and not need to make a trip to a shopping centre. My one and only complaint is that paint from a section of the wall on the back of the shower was peeling off, but other than that it was a great stay and I'd highly recommend it
- Karleena (8/5): - Friendly staff and comfortable bed!
- Nancye (7/5): Not the worst motel we have stayed at. Wouldn’t take much to get it to a really good level - Easy access, close to the cemetery. Close to the expressway. Good sized room. Comfortable bed. Kitchen bench and dishes were spotless. Wifi worked well but there were 2 different passwords which caused confusion. The room we stayed in could do with a deep clean. Walls, doors, skirting boards and carpets, windows and mirrors. The carpet was horrible to walk in , in bare feet. Shower head was quite low.
Terrible pillows. Pool was in bad condition, either clean it up or get rid of it. No one wants to look at a green algae covered pool
- Julie (5/5): Staff good, bed good, but needs a revamp - Receptionist was friendly and welcoming The establishment is very run down and needs a total revamp. If the bed hadnt been comfortable I would have been totally dissatisfied with the room
- Anthony Rogers (10/5): -
- Pete (7/5): Location - Convenient Location
- Peterson (8/5): - Easy to locate Nothing to dislike
- Kevin (9/5): Wonderful. It’s my hometown, so its close, but not TOO close, yet close enough to Enjoy - Great Location and value for money.
Overall, nice quiet part of the area if you are just happy to chill, and enjoy the night.
Also, Great team on site I must add. Always Happy to Assist when and where needed. Only issue were the facilities.
Whether accomodated for short people, at my height (5’10 - not that tall), I had to bend in the shower to wash from the shoulder up. And the water pressure was not great. But for the price, happy to return.
- Cameron (10/5): Great place to stay, thank you for the hospitality 🙂 -
- Duane (9/5): -
- Oliver (10/5): I enjoyed my stay staff were great - Location was great near ever thing
- DEIRDRE (2/5): Disgusting odor in fridge. Cockroaches in kitchen. - Rm 14 cockroaches on bench & shower head dispersed very little water.
Rm 5 gave 2 towels for 4 people. The mini fridge had the worst odor it was intolerable.
Good price, clean, comfortable beds. See above
- Glenys (9/5): A cosy place to come back to after a long day - I found the staff to be exceptional nothing was too much trouble which is unusual these days It was exactly what we needed at the time
- Courtney (6/5): Cheap and Dated - Location to the event that i was attending. This motel is dated and in need of a full refurbishment. Painted bench tops over old Formica threadbare carpet and holes in the wall where old appliances and fittings were.
I was treated buy a room full of spiders and accompanying webs and no air conditioning. You can hear the TV from the adjacent room and people walking around up stairs.
- Jim (8/5): -
- Skells Whanau (6/5): It's fine eny - The fair cost for a family of four. The easy location. It's not very clean. It's fine, we survived but wouldn't want to hang out longer than one night in it.
- Donna Marie (10/5): Passing through - Very tidy and clean the place looked on arrival. Staff very friendly and helpful 😀👍 I cannot think of anything that I didn't like.
- Nurdayana Binti (7/5): Easy parking and a private, quiet room—ideal for a short stay. - Convenient location, easy parking, and a comfortable room for a short stay. The property is slightly dated, but everything was functional.
- 袁 (8/5): -
- Erena (7/5): -
- Sandra (5/5): Was ok. - Handy to expressway. One light in kitchen did not work. Bathroom floor very slippery when wet, had to uee one of the towels to dry floor and for safety.
I felt locked on door wasn't secure, also need a security chain. When staff came to door after 7pm, could not see who was at door and I was hesitant to open until she said who she was. Opened milk from previous people left in fridge.
- Kristie (6/5): - Location No air con
Needed security stays on windows so you would be able to let air at night and feel secure.
Needs alot of TLC
- Jo (5/5): -
- Jennifer Stanley-Adams (8/5): Amazing Service - We liked how we were offered to stay in the office room as our hotel room had a problem with it. Decent size room, beds were comfortable The shower was a little low pressure and I struggled to find hot water. The room was a little hot but cooled down overnight.
- Jennifer Stanley-Adams (9/5): Comfortable room - The beds were comfortable. Decent size room The shower was dripping constantly after having a shower.
- Pani (6/5): If you're passing through Huntley and just need a place to sleep, then yes. It provides that well. - I had requested a particular room and received confirmation. On arrival was told the room is unavailable. Was given another room (Apparently it was an upgrade). Space was smaller, so I don't accept it as an upgrade.
Hotel is very outdated, floor is uneven in areas. Poor ventilation - had to keep doors open for breeze and cool air but that just lets the bugs in at night, so had to close the doors. Small fans are provided by that just blows the hot air around.
- Tango Bravo (10/5): Father and Kids Reunion - Visiting my children. Having a place close to my kids where they could come stay, swim and play.
- Duane (5/5): -
- Guanzon (10/5): -
- Kere Crystal (5/5): Just needed a place to stay - The location for the kaupapa we were in town for. Very very dated. Beds aren’t cosy. Not a very cosy place.
- Marina (4/5): The pool was the only highlight -
- Philip Heng (5/5): - There were ants and spiders in the kitchen area.
- Paula (1/5): -
- Cullen (9/5): Wonderful -
- Paula (10/5): -
- Poututerangi Kowhai A Unique (10/5): -
- Rhind (2/5): Poor - It was close to our venue where we had all our meetings. Not very clean doors where hard to lock and unlock for older people
Lots of spiderwebs everywhere
Fridge defrosting
No lounge suite to relax in
- Vijeshwar (3/5): Dishes were dirty wet bed smelly Ned sheets - Location Smelly bed sheets
- cherryn (6/5): -
- Natasha (10/5): -
- Natasha (10/5): - I like the room because it was clean and tidy plus when u need things for the room I got them straight away I loved the lot
- Leah (5/5): OK. - Staff were really friendly and helpful. Really ppreciated the man's help in holding a room while waiting on friends from overseas, and sharing his butter with us. Very kind. Stains on carpet and bathroom and toilet needed good wipe down or a repaint job.
- Carolyn (10/5): - Great location and really nice people. Great for family get together
- Arahi (6/5): Satisfactory - Room was comfortable. The room was smelly and noisy neighbour, there were plenty of rooms but seemed to be all cramped in together at one end of the Motel, instead of spreading guests out, so the noise from neighbour hearing everything they were doing was disturbing.
- Poututerangi Kowhai A Unique (7/5): -
- Paula (9/5): - Room was preheated before we got there at night N/A
- thomsonboy (4/5): - Location ok. Shower pressure was ok Toilet needed a bit more elbow grease scrubbing around bowl. Smoke alarm not connected. Ants all over bench.
- Paula (9/5): -
- Siiri (9/5): - The location is bit far from everything, but the views are pretty and there's is a supermarket nearby. The staff is really kind and helped me with my car. -
- Benni (5/5): - Close to where I needed to go.
- Isaia (6/5): Nice and warm - Good location there
- Paula (1/5): First room was disgusting smelt musty, it was dirty, second room was dirty dusty and broken stove - Island lady cleaner was awesome did her job great Other workers were rude unhelpful and never did their job correctly
- Kane (7/5): Oh yeah, g it was pretty mean as, aye - The location was really convenient for what we needed. It was only a 15-minute drive to Hampton Downs, which worked perfectly for our plans. Huntly was also just 10 minutes away, making it easy to grab breakfast and anything else we needed before heading out. The internet didn't meet my expectations.
- Paula (7/5): - Location Wifi kept on cutting out
- Jeanne (9/5): -
- Kathy (7/5): -
- Joanne (3/5): -
- Jim (9/5): -
- Juanita (6/5): Pleasant -
- Rach (6/5): Pleasant - Location was good Bed was awful
Room stunk of cigarette smoke
You get what you pay for
- Joel (6/5): Pleasant -
- Wayne (7/5): Good - The first motel I've stayed at that had decent lighting. I could actually read my book at night. Seemed like a fairly new building
compared to other units. Unfortunately the fixtures and fittings were on the cheaper side.
- Paizley (7/5): Good -
- June (5/5): Would stay again but request one of the units without stairs - Handy to event & reasonable price Motel is old & dated but clean & beds comfy but not much has been done in the unit I stayed in since last using the Motel 7 years ago. Had problems with hot water & step up to shower was not appropriate for an older person. Had friends in another unit & looks like bathroom had been updated so maybe doing gradually.
- Thomas (5/5): Good sleep - The shower is in need of a mixer handle as this is broken and the pressure is very very poor.
Outside stairwell in need of work as it is dangerous and needs very good clean to remove moss. Good bed
- Dana (8/5): Very good -
