- Patricia (9/5): A quaint old pub with nice accommodation. - Nice surroundings, an on site bar and restaurant . The unit was quiet, well set up and pretty much everything that we required for our one night stay. The shower is not particularly well set up because the floor is not angled and the water runs against the wall and all over the floor, even out into the kitchen area. Quite dangerous on the tile floor. Also, the path leading to the units was quite uneven making it difficult to transfer a suitcase along it.
- Paul (3/5): Disappointing - Booking was simple, easy access to unit and well placed for Four Square market The building seems to be suffering from leaky building. Strong smell of mould and physical mould evidence at floor level. Facility due for a major upgrade.

Heaters didn't work Spa bath that 7 year old insisted on using took 40 minutes to fill fo bubble jet line. Shower was mouldy. Bought infection wipes for bath and shower.

- Lydia (7/5): Comfy beds, wet bathroom. - Great set up of rooms, comfortable large beds, good location but no views - however super convenient for using the pub! The bathrooms were wet rooms and in our unit, the shower ended up flooding the whole bathroom floor and even water seeping out into the kitchen area. We had to leave at 5am for a flight so unfortunately couldn’t speak to any staff to report the issue.

- Shonagh (1/5): - Location Units very dated but that is ok. However the bathroom floor tiles were discusting. The grouting was black and no it was not a black grout. The cabinet in the bathroom was rotten at the floor as was one in the kitchen. The place had an awful smell which was probably due to the rotted cabinets. I asked for a room change which was very reluctantly supplied. This room was better but the shower floor and walls needing major attention. Would not recommend.

No water flow control on shower resulting in flooding bathroom floor. Electric blankets without electrical connections. No bedside table in 2nd bedroom. In general just a lack of attention to detail.

I appreciated that I was booked into a disabled unit.The evening meal in the Inn was lovely Our car broke down and had to be towed to the garage in Glenfield!😖 nothing to do with the Inn

- Karen MJ (7/5): A little bit sad - It was conveniently located and relatively quiet. The room was spacious and the pub food at the restaurant was good. The room looked like it needed an upgrade. The furnishings were dated (1980s) and the curtains had seen better days. The bathroom was 'accessible' but it was not pleasant. It looked dirty and the shower curtain was attacking me while I was trying to wash. Water got all over everything. A redesign of the space could make it very nice. The bed was comfortable.

Would stay again - Location, availability at last minute, spacious and all kitchen needs met I took the single bed and my husband the big bed to get a good sleep before travelling. Husband slept well and mine was less as mattress/base on wall-side sagged a lot.

- Vijay Farley-Naiker (7/5): We recently stayed at Salty Dog Inn and had a mixed experience overall - The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made the stay more pleasant. The room was clean and tidy. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the food was enjoyable. The room had a noticeable mouldy smell, which was unpleasant. The bathroom design meant water went everywhere when showering, leaving the floor very wet. In the restaurant there was no table service for drinks, so you need to go to the bar to order them. There was an incident involving a fight in the carpark overnight, which was quite unsettling.

The car parked outside and safe It was quite shabby, dirty very marked carpets and sofa for instance. The whole place needs a revamp including the pub, too much furnishing is dirty and grimey. The heating didn’t apparently work so the pub manager kindly came over and found us an oil filled radiator,

- Christine (3/5): Aweful, not as described. Coastal hideaway? Yes, 500 metres away, across a main road and tucked in behind a supermarket - It was somewhere to try to rest and sleep. On arrival the staff were everything but welcoming, the “reception”, in the bar, was everything but cosy. The ground floor room, no views, was open to all to looking in from the access paths. No soundproofing and noise from the stairs and upstairs rooms. The description said it was close to beach, but it was half a mile away over a main road and down a hill. Parking area right outside the rooms. AC unit and back of 4 Square supermarket at rear. No outside terrace, it’s a through pedestrian route with plastic chairs, the “ garden” was plants between the parking and the accommodation block. Described as a coastal hideaway, I agree, between a laundromat and supermarket. Would not recommend.

- liliane (8/5): Clean and comfortable - The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were hard. Spacious. Our room overlooked a garden. We could hear people walking around in the rooms upstairs. The water from the shower poured onto the floor as there was nothing to contain it.

Given this it was still a great stay and for the price really can't complain, would still go back
