The man at reception was friendly, and understanding when I thought I'd lost my room key. Fortunately, I'd only locked them in my room. My pillow was a bit hard but I managed to find a more comfortable one in the room.

It would have been more welcoming to have the fridge turned on and cool prior to our arrival as well as all the towels in the room rather than being given an extra one at check in to carry to our room along with our bags. A bit pedantic maybe but don't think that is too much to ask when we had booked for 3 people. Oh and fresh cold milk would have been nice - rather than warm UHT milk. Pleased I packed earplugs as there was a bit of traffic noise. Parking was quite tight in a bigger vehicle.

• Mark (8/5): Great location for the stadium. Easy to get to. - Room was spacious, tidy and well maintained. Beds and pillows were comfortable. I would prefer allocated parks. I checked in, parked but then had to go out to pick someone up. Upon returning the park was gone and only remaining space was too small for my vehicle. Beds on casters move too easily. When two people are sitting up in bed against the wall the beds start moving away from the wall.

With your door closed it was quiet, so it could block out most of the outside noise which was good. The TV didn't work properly. I tried using both the TVNZ and Netflix app, and you could hear the show, but not see anything. This happened each day I tried to use it. The smell of gas came through the kitchen and bathroom windows, so I did have to keep those closed most of the time. I'm not sure if the dishes were washed properly because there were tea stains in one of the cups and the glasses had an odd smell.

Not sure why. We were disappointed that smoking is still allowed on the balcony; unpleasant for the non-smoking guests.

• Fozsy (8/5): Most enjoyable. - Location to the sporting venues and a 20 minute walk to the main restaurants. Sadly the spa bath was not working.
• Loretta (6/5): Good location, comfy bed and overall pleasant. - Comfortable bed, spacious and good location. Minor things and not trying to deter people. The shampoo and conditioner containers had fallen off the wall in the shower, a wee bit more attention to the cleaning would have been good and didn't have a great experience with the WiFi.
