• Steve (1/5): We felt so mislead and ripped off that we got up early after the first night and didn't go back. - it had a bathroom met by a scruffy man in bare feet. parked on a shared driveway and walked down an ally to the side of the house to get to the room which was attached to the house and did not look at all like the picture on B.Com. Room was tiny and not much more than backpackers level apart from shower room. We paid $726 for 2 nights here and felt ripped off and mislead. Do Booking.com even assess these places? The worst place we ever stayed considering the price. And no, we don't usually give bad reviews.

• Manuel (10/5): - The privacy the cottage offered. Comfortable bed and pillows. Nice kitchenette to prepare your own meals. Jane was very helpful on what to see and do in Te Anau. Truly recommend Templenoe Paradise to all. Loved staying here. Nothing.

• Suzanne (8/5): - The cottage was exactly as advertised and was located an easy walk to the town centre. Rustic and overlooked a lovely green space and garden. The comfort of the bedding was perfect. Mattress was a bit soft for husband but he has a bad back.

• Forde (1/5): False advertising!!! - False advertising as it states the whole house on booking.com, the owner didn't care, told us it was not his fault when asked about this, It was a room attached to the back of their house, with locked doors into our bathroom and bedroom. Could hear him snoring at night. There was no option for a refund at time of booking. $760 for two nights. Extremely let down by booking.com and the owners of Templenoe Paradise, certainly wasn't Paradise for us. The owner blamed booking.com for false advertising, but when I said it's your fault for still having it up on booking.com, he just walked away. The owner said it was his pocket money, unbelievable! Beware, if you've read this, you've been warned.

• David (8/5): A lovely quiet place with easy access to the town. - A lovely little place on a quiet road a short walk from the town center and attractions. It was clean and comfortable and perfect for our short stay in Te Anau.

• Jennifer (5/5): Read the reviews before booking - It was close enough to town to walk and decent wifi. The outdoor seating is nice. I wish I had read the reviews before booking. The photos are confusing. It was literally a separated bedroom and bathroom in a person's house. You could hear the people living in the house move around, cough and snore. The key said "king room" that had a queen size bed and it was lumpy. The room was small for 2 people with a suitcase each. While it has a microwave, there was no crockery or cutlery... it had a jugs, 2 mugs and a couple of glasses. The tv was small. There is mold on the curtains.
• Kristen (8/5): Good :) - Bed was comfy, warm, shower was great, garden was nice. It’s older inside (no issue really unless you’re expecting a luxury stay) and the blinds don’t close fully and can be a bother. Parking was a bit tricky. Good for the price.
• Tankred (8/5): Excellent location for a trip to the Milford Sound. - The location of this place is very good: You could easily rent winter equipment, you can buy food or go to several restaurants. The itinerary to the Milford Sound is very convenient. Nothing.

• David (5/5): - The bed was comfortable. Good room rate for a very busy location.. It was a very small room with minimal facilities. The main room and bathroom had doors that opened to the owners residence. We could hear the owners' TV and discussions from our room. The outside of the property around our room was unattractive. There was no allocated parking.
