• Hannu (8/5): Viihtyisä motelli - Hyvin hoidettu jo hieman iäkkäämpi motelli. Tilava ja siisti huone. Kaksi supermarkettia aivan lähellä mutta keskustaan (Town Basin/Hundertwasser Museum) on noin 20/25 minuutin kävelymatka. Kamo Streetillä on liikenne vilkasta, liikenteen melua mutta yöllä hiljenee. Lyhyen kävelymatkan päässä on hyvä Thai ravintola.

• jocelyn (8/5): Good comfortable motel ideal for four nights stopovet - Great location near two supermarkets and Close to CBD. Roomy motel with proper kitchen and a stove. Quiet at night . Comfy chairs and couch. Table and chairs. It hasn't air conditioning but did provide two fans. Older motel which may need kitchens refurbished soon . Only one bedside lamp not two.
• Tamás (8/5): Nice motel from the 80's, good location, nice staff and bath supporting elderly people's need too. - This is a classic US style, standard motel from the 80's. So, you have to set your expectaions with this in mind. It was in general a nice, comfortable, clean place, everything was up and running, the staff was really supportive and we watched DVDs(!) in the evening from the 80's, as they have DVD players and 1000 movies to rent from that age +players attached to the TV sets. The motel was close to the centre so it is good to use it as a base camp for visiting the downtown (Hunderstwasser centre, KiwiNorth, Kauri Museum, walks like BreamHeads and many more). Nothing serious. If you are comfortable with these motels and have no luxurious needs, it is a good place at a reasonable price. Maybe I would replace the hob and renew the shower.

• Grbich (8/5): It met my needs. The lady was pleasant and heful. - Didn't have breakfast. Location was good. I walked to the supermarket. Bed and pillows great. It had a large free standing fan which was great. I felt the bathroom was shoddy. Rust on the towel rails and the vanity needs replacing. Shower was good. But it didn't look clean because it was shoddy, tired looking. The lounge and bedroom appear to have been done up, but not the bathroom.

• Jenny (9/5): Great location and generous sized rooms - Great location in easy walking distance to eateries and supermarkets. Handy driving distance to shopping center and waterfront walkway. Friendly approachable owners. Located on a main connecting road, which can get a little busy and noisy at times but is great for direct travel to anywhere in Whangarei.

• Nga (10/5): Cypress Court Motel ticked all the boxes - my family & I will return here again at out next visit. - Conveniently close to all amenities - next door to Woolworths for our basic groceries etc. Close proximity to our LDS Church. quiet Rd and close to town. It was precisely as depicted on booking.com. The rooms were very clean, inviting and very comfortable. I normally sleep on a mattress on the floor (due to a chronic knee & back injury) but I slept on the KS bed 2 nights in a row - fantastic. Peter swapped us from a 1st floor unit to ground-floor due to my knees - no issue - appreciated that. We visit Whangarei 2/3 times a year to visit family & friends - best one we've stayed in. Reasonably priced. None really.
• McCarthy (10/5): - We enjoy our stay immensely, I forgot 2 items of clothing and they rang us straight away, luckily we were still in the area. The room is a little dated, but everything is well maintained apart from one of the lights in the kitchen was blown, but we coped with it.

• Alvin (8/5): It was all about location. Most excellent - Didn’t have breakfast. As I was there for an eye operation, the surgery was next door. Couldn’t be better. Nothing really. The location was perfect for my eye surgery. Just walked about 15 metres.
• Stokes (8/5): Our top choice if in the area again - It was comfortable and, as many others have said, it is very close to two supermarkets. I walked to both. We stayed here on our way up north and on the way south - if we didn't like it we wouldn't have stayed again. Can't think of anything.

I liked the round table and three comfy chairs in the middle of the room. The room was clean, tidy and warm. Location was great. We could hear the people in the next room who were talking quite loud as we were trying to sleep.

The beds were very comfortable and I had a great sleep. I am 5’3” and had to balance on the lip of the showet enclosure and stretch to reach the controls.

We stayed in Unit 5 and in the early hours of the morning we could hear the toilet flushing and shower running from the next unit. The light bulb in the dining area was blown and there was insect (daddy long leg) in the bathroom with dust behind the toilet.

A pedestal fan was provided to cool the room but this was very noisy and not practical to use at night while trying to sleep. While the room was well presented it was very dated. Our room could have done with a spruce up. Maybe start with the threadbare shower curtain.

• Maarten (7/5): OK option in Whangarei - Easy check in. Large room, which was cleaned daily. Nice shower. Like many Whangarei motels this place appears a bit run down and in dire need of some TLC. Would suggest new lighting, some extra paintings on the wall and new matresses. No shower extractor fan and no noise or climate insulation.
