Guest Reviews
- Julie (6/5): - Manager of the property was
Lovely. Window air con was really noisy.
- Dan (8/5): - I know this motel is not very premium but the receptionist Is super friendly.
- Robert (8/5): - Helpful staff
- Nicole (8/5): - The staff are very friendly. And facilities very clean. You can see the new owners are working hard to upgrade the amenities. All the best to the new job on your hands. Would stay again.
- Wayne (2/5): - Terrible
- Angela (2/5): - Mould all over the bathroom walls and the room was so filthy. We got moved to another room which was slightly cleaner. After a long flight we decided to just sleep. We left the next day and requested a refund. People drinking and partying next door at 10am! Do NOT recommend
- Tia (2/5): - This place is gross! Pay extra stay somewhere else. It smells like mould and BO. It’s dirty and unclean. The pool is green.
I was too scared to sleep in the bed so I slept on top. Don’t stay here!!!
- donna (4/5): - Very outdated and ran down. Smoke detector was held together with zip ties as well as the tv on the stand. Bathroom every morning was full of ants
- Verified traveler (4/5): will not visit here again - the beds were comfortable, that's about all. There was only 1 glass int he cupboard and no staff to request a second glass. All the window sill were dusty. There was no security screen on the bathroom window. We did not shower as the Lino on the show floor had come loose from the wall, and it was dirty. Although it advertised a playground, the swings were broken. The pool was dirty and half full.
- Jarrod (2/5): - Cockroaches, Termittes, dirty utensils, Staff not manning office had to wait 10 mins for him to come back at check in, had to leave early due to flooding crisis booked 3 nights only stayed one night. Wont be staying here anytime soon I DO NOT RECOMEND
- Laurence (2/5): - The mold in the room
- trevor (4/5): - Nothing it was run down and old
- Carrie (2/5): - Property was awful from the beginning. Broken window out the front, dirty stained carpet in the entrance, curtain all ripped, aircon falling off the wall where it was held on by tape, fluffy white mould in the microwave, chewed hole in the carpet, blood stain on the doona cover, mouldy shower curtain, bed hard as a rock. Didn’t like anything about it.
- Diane (2/5): - Very dirty, had no cutlery, when asked they couldn't even find us forks.
- Lorraine (8/5): - I found this motel to be comfortable, clean and inexpensive. It is an aged motel that could use a reno but it served me well and I was able to walk into town and enjoyed my stay. The WiFi didn't work but I was advised this could be the case. I would go back again.
- Rich (8/5): - Good enough for what I needed :)
- Peter (8/5): - Located in a good location but property needs some upkeep.
- Ebony (10/5): - It would be a great property if they cleaned it up and done it up a bit
Quiet and lovely room
- Lorelei (2/5): - The people who were next to my room parked over the line so I could barely squeeze my car in. Not ideal when you have a hire car.
When I arrived and until after midnight two males sat outside my room smoking and drinking booze. At one stage they were playkng very loud music.
It would have been nice to get more than 6 hours sleep.
- Maude (6/5): - Beds are rough as so uncomfortable woke up with sore backs everyday
- Anita (4/5): - We checked in at twelve past two she wasn't there. When we rang she was running an errand. Our room was open. She didn't give us a time when she be back. My partner rang her. She was at the bank apparently. On a Saturday at 2.30pm? We didn’t have the keys for 40 minutes. She dropped them round with some milk but only cause we where planing on going out soon. When i used the bathroom because its close too the shower i noticed a few long stray hairs on the floor. Then right in the corner of the shower stall i noticed a big chunk of hair in the corner. So not impressed. After the way we where recieved i didn’t bother to say anything. I hygienically cleaned it up myself. I understand basic cheap rooms but i expect it too be clean. I have no idea how it was missed.
- Peter (4/5): - Property is poorly maintained n could do with a big Reno in all rooms. Paint peeling on walls, aircon sounds like a jet taking off, stains on carpet and wet carpets
- Verified traveler (8/5): - For the price, it was very good. Only stayed the night but offered all i needed. Shower was really good. Room size very good too. Everything was clean.
- Grant (8/5): - Good value
- Morris (6/5): basic accommodation - basic accommodation, and very dated, but it was clean.
Host was friendly and helpful. Handy to Showgrounds.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I had no complaints you get what you pay for and I’m happy . Thank you and I’ll go there again if I’m in town
- Verified traveler (2/5): horrible - i did not stay in the end, i had the hotel cancel my accom and i went to hotel monaco instead, so much better 👍
the pool was dirty and out of order the place looked rundown and reception look like it wasnt cleaned since the 80s
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Bad odour in the room
The good thing is that it is cheaper
- Peter (8/5): Good value for it's age. - Just one issue that was reasonably quickly fixed - same as previous visit, the TV wasn't able to find channels and needed assistance.
- Amanda (6/5): Clean but older - It an older motel. Our room was clean but quite dated. Hand towels weren't provided, which isnt a big deal, but a normal thing in other motels. Staff were great. There is full time residents there. We never had any trouble with them. But always go to know when booking
- lynette (6/5): - Bed not comfortable rooms very tired and needed some work
- John (2/5): - Worst motel I’ve ever been too. Rough area. Left as soon as I was threatened buy another quest who was high or intoxicated or both. Stay away.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The place was clean, though needs some major renovations. I cannot complain as I did not pay for 5 star service.
- Mandy (6/5): - I got what I paid for. I didn't pay for, nor did I need or want 5-star accommodation. The roof didn't leak during all the rain, it was clean and the staff were pleasant when requests were made.
- Cathy (10/5): - Very friendly
Good communication
Rooms nice And clean
Good water pressure
- frank (2/5): - it is a dump that about sums it up was staying for 3 nites 2 was enough
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Run-down, dodgy motel. Definitely heard people having very loud sex next door. Room was super not clean and there was a lot of wear and tear damage to many parts of the room. Shower taps are the wrong way around, and the towels needed replacing a while ago. Check-in was frustrating, issues with the booking and extra payment. Do not recommend.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I stayed there for 4days and it was full of drugos and fighting evey night the owns need to kick them outt and stopp them for coming back there i was so ashamed of staying there when this was happening
- Shan (6/5): - Service and staff were very good. But the property is a typical 1970s motel and not been upgraded since. The food served was good. Cleanliness was good
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Old, tired and grotty. Far too expensive for what it is. Never again
- John (8/5): Not the Ritz but reasonable - Read bad reviews & expected the worst, however was pleasantly surprised. An Older property. Found it to be clean & comfortable. Could not fault & was ok for one or a couple of nights stay. Great price what it is.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Was clean and tidy. Professional staff, easy to approach with anything needed..
- Susana (6/5): - It is an average hotel accommodation
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Disgusting, it was run down and smelled terrible, pool was green and the toilet leaked the only thing in it’s favour was at least the sheets were clean and the bed comfortable.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Dirty room, ants everywhere. Loud aircon and tv remote dodgy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very central, close to what we required, not over glamerous but what we neded
- Verified traveler (4/5): - This property needs a lot of attention. The paintwork is chipped doors have cracks in them, the air conditioner was old and noisy and held together with tape. while the staff try their best I wouldn't stay there again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Decent pricing which is ok, BUT the pool is green no sign of any food offering as displayed on sign. No one in reception worst but not least I had someone knocking on my door and trying to get in at 2am not what you want at all...
- RJ (8/5): - Clean bedding, clean carpet, TV was good clear picture and sound. Supplied with kettle coffee and sugar was good. Bathroom was clean with good hot water pressure.
- Rod (10/5): - Friendly owners & hassle free. Basic overnight accommodation, will stay again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Not worth the price paid. I'd give the place a two star, at most.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a good stay it was only for one night it was good
- Keith (10/5): Ipswich City Motel stay - Room was a good size, fair price, water was nice and hot, room was clean and tidy, owners were awesome and area was pretty good
- Verified traveler (4/5): A Nightmare - The hotel was close to the hospital which was the only good thing to say about our stay. The overall condition and cleanliness of the motel was very disappointing - the sink had a constant running tap, the shower had several cracked tiles and the floor was covered in god only knows what. I had to lay a towel down before even thinking about stepping foot into it. Beware do not stay here!!
- Michael (10/5): Good value stay - I always stay here when travelling through the area. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There are nearby parks. Take away places are a short drive away.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Cockroaches and ants in the bathroom. More Security needed front door and bathroom windows
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Jus a place to sleep for me but it was way comfy. That’s enuf for now
- Verified traveler (2/5): A st!thole - The smell in the room was sickening. No power points broken window in bathroom and I suspect this motel is used by hookers, I left and went somewhere else
Do yourself a favour, don't even consider this place
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very noisy with traffic & flight path. There was 3 of us in the room, 2 cups, 1 bowl, 1 dessert spoon, 3 forks, 2 knives, 1 teaspoon, 3 dinner plates, 1 bread & butter plate, no sink to wash up, no detergent, you had to wash your plates in the bathroom hand basin. Not very impressed. Ok price was cheap, beds were comfortable,Air conditioner was very noisy, had to have tv loud so you could hear it. Would not book this again.
- K (2/5): - Asian at reception could not speak English, place was very dirty and ordered 2 double beds and received a room with 1 double and 1 single meaning my son had to sleep on the floor!!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff was very helpful But very run down outside by the owner. Would be a really good motel if dune up like gardens, pool was green, needs a lot of painting to be done. The lady who was there on the Saturday was so nice and helpful.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Nothing at all
- Kristina (6/5): Not worth the 3 stars - This hotel is really just a bed for stopping for the night. Quite rundown establishment with not much going for it. Still overpriced at $86 we paid for the night, when I booked it, I expected a bit better than what we go. Would not return.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was ok for an overnight stay. We got there late and were leaving early the next morning but if I was spending some time there I would be very disappointed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good overnight stay. Close to ipswich city. Owners got our room ready early for us.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This was very disappointing.
NO POOL was green no shade in pool area.
BBQ was filthy bird droppings all over them
no screens on windows or doors
the iron had brown marks all over it
kettle had no lever to turn on
- Coogee (4/5): - On arrival found refrigerator not turned on, probable reason when running froze everything inside even after adjusting thermostat to just the cool setting. After making hot beverage wanted to clean cups and utensils only to find there was no Washing Up detergent. Could not listen to radio as all knobs and switches were missing. Insect screens were either missing or very badly damaged.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very very old, not well maintained. Basic but adequate for one sleep
- Tianna (2/5): - It was 38 degrees when we arrived and noticed the green, algae ridden pool with a dead bird in it. Cobwebs in room. Mould behind front door and on shower curtain. Bottle cap holding aircon vent in place. No screens on windows. Tomato on carpet beside the floor. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Disgusting! How is this place still open?!
- Graham (6/5): - No one in the office when we arrived had to phone some one to get our room number
- Yogi (2/5): - Bedspread was torn on top and in view, bed was as hard as a rock, possums or rats in the roof having a good time, room smelt of cat pee or possibly possum pee, no floor towel or face washer given. No instruction book or what is around town in room. Felt filthy and would have driven home and not slept there only for the fact that we would have had to contend with the kangaroos on the way home.
- Debra l (2/5): Not worth the money - Not worth the money.
- Ros (6/5): Good location for our venue - Was told Reception would b open til 8.30 when I rang to say we would b arriving late but Reception wasn’t open so had to ring to get room number - most inconvenient!Didn’t realize Expedia had paid A/c so waited til supposed opening of Reception which was later than when we wanted to leave & once again needed another phone call!!Not all T V channels were available!!!No toilet roll holder!!!! Shower head was very low for my 5’11 son to use comfortably!!!!!
Bed was comfortable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The staff were accomodating to my requests.
Thankyou.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - old and run down needs a refurb badly , should cover the green pool in the winter ,it looks disgusting. Room was clean but plates and cutlery in poor condition
- Kiaura (4/5): A little disappointed. - Rooms were clean but motel is generally in need of a make over - broken switches, peeling paint, ripped bed covers.
We never saw any office staff (we were there for 5 nights) but cleaning staff were friendly.
Quiet enough for a city motel unfortunately could hear next room's TV all night.
- Katie (6/5): - Very run down the best I can say is Staff very friendly and is very close to Ipswich Hospital.
- Emma (6/5): Iffy - First there was no soap in shower. The walls had clearly been vanalised and painted a different colour. It was cold that night, 3 degrees, only 1 thin blanket extra.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No one at reception. We had to wait a considerable time and then ring management to gain access to our room. Air conditioner vented dust when turned on. AC noise ,no milk provided, no water jug in fridge.
- Travsgran (2/5): Motel nightmare - A louvre fell out in bathroom, pool filled with pea green water with balls of furry stuff on the bottom, room dusty, spider webs around the ceiling, paint peeling off eaves outside all rooms and growing black mould, tv didn't work - no channels, hot water tap in sink in room was frozen - wouldn't turn at all, but dripped all night. Veneer peeling off wardrobe doors and entrance door. Pedestal fan with broken stand, hot water in shower set at an unacceptably hot level, would be dangerous to let kids regulate the shower. Bedspread torn, room smelt dank. Pillows lumpy and hard. Mould in shower. Whole place looks uncared for.
Mattress must have been in plastic cover, very sweaty and uncomfortable. Air conditioning didn't work.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - You get what you pay for i should have spent more, i booked for two nights stayed for one
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Air conditioning didn't work provided room with pedestool fan that was falling apart and rattling. Hard time also making the door lock. Shower was clean and the bed was ok.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Noisy, very rundown but clean no foul smells, pool disgusting
No one to greet us at reception on arrival at 3pm, communication by phone and then several attempts to contact before phone was answered
- Mike (6/5): - Cheap accommodation, get what you pay for, noisy aircon and a green pool.....
- jo (2/5): Horrible - Bad bad bad !!!!would not even let my dogs stay in here Do not I say do not book in here $95,_ a night looks cheap but way to expensive for this place Wotif. Should not put this on their site.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - ...lovely staff, room service food was very nice..
- Beccy (2/5): CONVENIENT LOCATION - BATHROOM SMELLED OF SEWERAGE. SWIMMING POOL WATER WAS A LOVELY SHADE OF GREEN.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Disappointed with price and lack of service. Difficult to get some sort of breakfast organised. Condition of room poor. Was clean. Tv would not work properly. Noone on front desk when key was returned next morning. Pool was green.
- Verified traveler (8/5): All we needed - Ipswich City Motel had everything that we needed for an overnight stay. Clean and comfortable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Two nights and no problems. It was cheap and comfortable with air conditioning on two very hot days. Staff were very accommodating when I changed my plans.
- Graeme (8/5): friendly and helpful staff close to work site - Staff very helpful and friendly on my arrival room clean and comfortable.
- Vicki PS (4/5): Very basic - The room was clean and the air conditioning worked. That's about as much as I can say. The room was shabby and poorly maintained (i.e. DIY repairs badly carried out). All the basics were there, and the lights and TV worked. The weather was very hot, but the swimming pool was dirty and closed (same as the last time I stayed). The motel is convenient, all rooms ground level and parking at the door of each unit. Beds were very hard.
- rob (4/5): Needs a lot of maintenance to be acceptable - Cracked tiles in shower, floor not vacuumed the three days we were there, dirt on back of door whole time there, tv kept loosing signal, milk, coffee not replenished daily, floor in bathroom not cleaned daily paint peeling off whole building, pool water green, pool artificial turf falling apart
- Sam (8/5): great for both traveller with or without cars - My stay for very pleasant, room was very clean, there’s a bus stop right outside the motel so easy access to public transport and staff are very nice and welcoming.
- Verified traveler (4/5): close to my appointment - cheap but very tired in appearance
needs refurbishing
- KP (4/5): Basic Accommodation - Old motel in need of refurbishment. Bath room and carpets not well cleaned.
Pool not operational.
- Rahera (4/5): Find another motel - Will never stay here again
The room looks nothing like the ad
There were no eating utensils or dishes
Towels were not changed
Felt more like one of those motels where you rent the room by the hour
- John (4/5): Terrible condition overpriced at $90 - Rooms have not been maintained effectively.
Main window has come out of molding. Mossie screens were missing on main window, pushed out of molding at rear. Bench held together with packaging tape. Pool unavailable due to lack of maintenance & not totally filled. Tiny TV not meant for a room but more for rear seat of a vehicle and basic channels unavailable.
Tried telling reception on leaving but closed until midday..
- Helen (8/5): Nice Hotel - Room was clean, friendly staff. The queen bed mattress needs replacing, one side I almost fell out of bed. Little bar fridge was too small as we stayed there for 4 nights.
- Marty (4/5): A convenient location, BUT oh so bad! - We booked this motel online, it was convenient for our visit to my son. What we didn't expect, was the state of the room. It looked ok when carrying our bags etc in, but then when we settled down and started to put things away and relax, we started to notice things, like the 4ft fluorescent light and its heavy timber housing hanging off the wall above our heads. To make a cup of tea, we had to get the ants out of the kettle first, there is a sign above the jug, telling us that ants are a part of life in Queensland! It was then I noticed the fact that there is only one double power-point, with an extension lead going through the benchtop with a power board to the fridge and TV, then there is a double adapter with the microwave and kettle plugged in, none of which have current test and tags on them. We tried the TV, it worked the first time then after, it took a lot of button pushing and button holding, to try to get it to work, when it was working, every time the fridge cut in or out, the TV would make loud crackling noises. This room had an interconnecting door which allowed a lot of noise from next door, to penetrate into our room. The plumbing next door was very noisy. The air conditioner had about a two metre lead on it, very dangerous with young children around. I am not sure of the significance of the fishing hook, stuck into the top of the door frame, into the room next door? The swimming pool was an interesting shade of brown and green, so we didn't get to try it out.
