Guest Reviews
- Kay (3/5): A cheap and nasty place. In need of an upgrade. I won’t recommend it or go back. - There was a good heater and Sky Television. The property needs an upgrade everything is very old . Better more comfortable beds are needed. The shower can’t get the right temperature. Even the kitchen utensils were very old.
- Amirul Izzat (10/5): All good, we are so happy overal. Thank you! - The motel manager is very nice. She provide family room for my family, and she prepared special parking for us. The toilet cleanliness can be improve.
- Sarah (5/5): - People were friendly Not very inviting needs a upgrade

- Pip (1/5): -
- Melissa (6/5): - This was great accommodation for the price and everything was a 5 - 10 min walk away.
- Alex (10/5): - The location was perfect and the staff were helpful
- Rajeeva (6/5): -
- Michael (10/5): Perfect - Exactly what we asked for clean fresh good location to beach and cbd
- Shane (5/5): -
- Adrienne (1/5): Horrible. Smells, bad staff, bad vibes - How central it was to our Walt appt in New Plymouth Stunk like smoke, changed rooms and it was under a man’s room who must be staying long term with winz and he kept asking for change aand spare food. Dropping ash from smoke from his balcony. It was awful. Wouldn’t refund. To dark from my kids to find another place
- Nikhil (5/5): -
- Hayley (8/5): -
- Philo (9/5): -
- Eddie (5/5): Don't know why Any booking agent would recommend staying at this place very poorly maintained motel - Location good Not cleaning rooms and changing towels everyday and not enough toilet paper
- George (6/5): - The meth dealers up stairs were a put off for me!
- Dave (6/5): - Cheap and cheerful
- Shelley (4/5): - The location was good for us , walking distance to town The room had a terrible chemical smell when you entered that I had to ask for odour neutraliser to try & remove as it was very intense, room was quite dirty & run down, no toilet paper, shower didn't stay on consistent temperature.
- GrantNZ (7/5): Good value - Spacious, clean and all facilities worked. Thin toilet paper
- Raymond (4/5): Disappointing! - The shower pressure was great but The linings had come away from the in places. No plug in the hand basin.
The whole place needed a thorough clean. A 1970's. run down building. The table had cobwebs hanging down.
And the outside furniture was very rusty. As above
- Sebastian (1/5): - Nothing Full of junkies selling drugs, making noises all night and scary as hell.
Worst possible place to spend a night.
That place should be banned from promoting it as a place to spend a night.
- Michael Kirke (3/5): - Nothing Dirty, noisy and expensive
- Chris (7/5): -
- Mere (1/5): - Nothing It was very dirty and the people there were going off at each other and the room had no lock on the door so I felt very uncomfortable and left I would like My money back
- Niquay (10/5): Will return - Like a mini house , amazing bed , quiet calm
, relaxing. Great tv Loved it all
- Jacinta (7/5): - That it had its own bathroom shower stove fridge had everything you needed Overall was pretty good
- Gough (3/5): Never again - The beds were at least comfy. Didn't like the terrible language from the other tenants. Couldn't use our car park because they parked their cars and motorbike in our spot. Didn't like the wind whistling through the closed windows all night. Wouldn't go back.
- Stephen (9/5): That was all we needed for our stay. - It was basic clean. That was all we needed for our overnight stay. Thanks. Noughting.
- Nafisa (5/5): -
- Bronwyn (1/5): Never stay it was so dirty - It was filthy
- Karen (3/5): Didn’t enjoy - Location Everything, noise from upstairs people, hard bed. Wouldn’t use again
- Yalda (7/5): -
- Catherine (7/5): You get what you pay for - The staff were amazing, very friendly and kind. Very understanding when we misplaced our key. The room was a decent size. It's also close to basically everything, very easy to navigate to and from. It has sky tv which was good for our son as it kept him entertained while we were trying to figure out where we were going. The beds were comfy and a decent size The room smelled like someone had been smoking inside, it felt damp and it looked a bit different from the pictures, the pictures looked like they were taken 10 years ago. I'm pretty sure the dampness made my son sick because he got a fever on the second night, and wouldn't stop coughing. As we were packing up I lifted up the bed skirt to check under the bed and it smelled really musty and made me immediately nauseous. I was on a tight budget and that's what this motor inn felt like too. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone travelling with a young child or anyone older than 60.
- Michelle (2/5): Disappointing - Didn't like that the motel is used for emergency housing - my daughter did not feel safe with her young children there so left. We would not have booked if we knew that. The reality of the motel was very different to what was advertised. Mouldy curtains and the whole place felt unclean.
- Hannah (7/5): -
- Felecia (6/5): - The location, the full kitchen and sky television. The room smelled musty. The beds were very uncomfortable.fortable. we paid for 5 guests but only had 4 plates, knives, spoons etc.
- Monique (2/5): -
- Maude (5/5): -
- kaye (7/5): The stay was ok. A bit noisy from other guests. It was a quick stop over. - Didn't have breakfast The rooms and especially the bathroom needed a much needed face lift. Location was excellent, but disappointed in condition of place for the price.
- Joop (8/5): -
- Lisa (3/5): It was not a good experience and I do not recommend staying there - Nothing It was rundown and it is home to quite a few permanent residents, we had one resident that would not stop continually coming to our rooms. If you had a area for the travellers and one for the permanent residents it would not have been so bad but your all mixed in. At times you felt uncomfortable I would not recommend staying here to anyone. The owner needs to either make it a place for permanent residents or a motel not both. I am sure they get sick of people coming in and out of there space as well.
- Donna (7/5): -
- Helen (6/5): Reasonable rate for a one night stay - Location is great handy to city centre, staff member was friendly. Shower was hot and had great pressure, double bed was comfortable. Good car parking in site. As stated by a number of other reviews the place is very tired, could do with replacing furniture and fittings. I did not enjoy other guests keeping us awake until 2am in the morning with their kids running up and down outside other units yelling and screaming. There was a lack of usable power points for charging phones. The windows were hard to open and as stated there were no power points to plug in the electric fans to cool the rooms down.
- Frankie (1/5): Wouldn’t stay again. - Its proximity to the town centre. It was not that clean, the beds were too soft and the kitchenette basic.
- Jo (2/5): Never again - The motel looked like it had long stay residence who partied all night. We did not feel safe in this environment!
- Wei (5/5): -
- Abrigo (5/5): -
- John (1/5): Not good - Not applicable Very run down, make over needed
- patel (7/5): -
- Danielle (2/5): - Close to town and cheap There were very intimidating people staying in the premises. There was a dog 2nd room over that barked at 6am each morning. The cleaning of the room was slack considering there was left over food still in the fridge.
- Sultani (8/5): -
- Ty (8/5): - It's in the center of the City. Clean rooms. You can hear the people next door.
- Scott (1/5): Phoned police for Domestic violence. - Central. Emergency housing tenants.
Avoid this place at all costs.
- Wul Onn (10/5): -
- Nguyen (6/5): - Good deals Okie
- jason (7/5): -
- Melanie (3/5): would not stay here again and would not recommend this place to anyone. - The location was good - it was within walking distance to where we were going stains on the carpet, the light in the room 'buzzed' when you turned it on. The bed was uncomfortable - it had a big dip in the centre of the bed, the cupboard doors on the vanity had been removed and boarded up. There was black mould around the bottom of the shower, the shower curtain was grubby and water ran out of the nozzle in a flow similar to a garden hose. Some of the other guests looked like permanent residents. I could hear the man upstairs using the toilet during the night.
- Pravin (2/5): -
- rachel (7/5): - The staff were very helpful The initial smell was like it was inhabited by smokers and oven cleaner....
- julie (7/5): comfy and ok for money, great shower not to be missed. - Shower was excellent all was ok

- Philip (9/5): -

- Antony (7/5): -
- Polina (8/5): I liked it - I really liked the location, nice value for money, clean and tidy room, also, pet-friendly.
- Peter (7/5): Enjoyed my stay I would go there again - Convenient location, comfortable, parking. Shower too small
- Martin (7/5): -
- Kathy (8/5): Arriving back to - No breakfast provided. I felt parking should be noted to each room.
- Arohananda (7/5): -
- Hung (10/5): -
- tawhirangi (10/5): - Very spacious and comfortable No bins in toilet area for personals
- Sherre (1/5): -
- Stanley Ernest (3/5): it was just somewhere to sleep - the bed was comfortable not being told it is used for social housing and parking
- Juliet (5/5): Okay, didn't spend heaps of time in the room. - Friendly staff, excellent location. A bit run-down, the fridge froze everything solid. Parking was extremely tight.
- Wendy (8/5): -
- Brian (6/5): -
- Sorley (7/5): -
- Mandy (7/5): Grateful - Honest staff.
- Justin (6/5): - nice
- Finch (8/5): - Good location for the activity we were doing
- Sandra (6/5): - Good price and handy location. The bed was too soft.

- Kevin (7/5): -
- Neil (2/5): Not very clean - Not much Double booking through Booking.com and no refund
- Asish (4/5): Not a good place to stay - The rooms are quite old and lack sufficient heating. The toilet/shower doors have large gaps and are not in good condition. Having kitchen appliances near the beds is not safe. The staff are not friendly. The room is clean but quite old. Maintenance is required for the doors and several other areas.
- Vivienne (8/5): Restful short notice stay - *Liked that I could book at short notice on the day, secure with card and pay on arrival.
*Location on main traffic route providing easy access to amenities.
*Kitchen facilities enabled adequate food preparation, cooking and storage - I enjoyed the opportunity to make dinner and breakfast.
*Studio/sleeping area had ample room and storage, good sized tv and faced northwest, capturing the afternoon sun.
*The heater was excellent for warming the room - only needed to be on a.low temperature. I particularly enjoyed having an electric blanket to warm up the bed. Extra blankets.and pillows were a bonus and appreciated.
*The shower pressure/temperature was fantastic and I was impressed to see there was a hook to hang a bathrobe - often not available, so well done. The gardens around the office and parking area could do with some care and attention, perhaps a lick of paint on the trellis fence.
- maree (1/5): this should not be on Booking.Com for anyone else to be able to book into this appaling place - we didn't stay as when we arrived we could tell it was a type of emergency accoodation it looked run down andvery unappealing
- Donald (7/5): -
- Alena (3/5): Poor - Bed was comfortable Doors were dirty. Bleach smell was very strong.
- Garyasta (9/5): Superb -
- Josh (1/5): We paid for 2 and left after 1 - Location Housing nz people obviously living there
