• Christine (8/5): Great location and friendly staff - Location was great close to everything. Room was clean and they had a lift which helped with getting our heavy bags upstairs. Staff were lovely. Noise from the pub across the road was loud till late. Queen bed was firm and not comfy but the single bed was good.
• Borg (3/5): - Location We had an awful sleep. The bed mattress was so uncomfortable we both sunk into it and had restless sleep.and sore backs. As for the shower and toilet set up with the step up it became a hazard if water landed on step down, and toilet being presssd up against the shower screen make it awfully hard to sit on the toilet properly.
• Russell (7/5): Nice place to stay - Good location. Nice restaurant. Noise from other guests going onto the common balcony to smoke late in the evening and early morning. Apparently not the staff's problem.

Reception left after we booked in at 2pm and was not available again until 7.30am the next morning. Durning the night we had a storm and our room flooded and we could not use power in the room due to amount of water. Left before reception started but called to advise of incident and all we were told was "well that's usually" No offer of compensation
• Tania (7/5): Outdated but location is excellent. Bathroom was not what we expected and others who we stayed with had worse bathrooms - Location was perfect Lots of power points!!! Great for charging electronics phone etc. The bathroom you see on the booking page is not what you get!!! Misleading!

• Greg (9/5): Great place to stay - Great location, excellent views, handy to food options. Excellent for the last night in Tassie on the way back to the spirit in Devonport. There is a full day drive and exploring possible after checkout including places like Stanley, The nut, rocky cape, sisters beach and heaps more. Bed could be a little firmer

I was showered with dust when I opened the curtain. Dirty windows and microwave. Room was not as depicted in photos, was dark and dated. Shower fan needed cleaning. Some light globes missing or not functional.

• annhD9509PL (6/5): You get what you pay for - Basis motel - you get what you pay for - rooms clean bathrooms tiny - unnecessary third bed meant room meant felt very cramped. Breakfast adequate but no fresh fruit options.

• Louise (5/5): did the job but would have been better with more sleep 2nd night - view was nice,room was clean no after hours help,had to sleep on the sofa and single bed as tried to contact someone as the electric lights were shorting out when you moved in the double bed. neighbours were playing football in the hallway and being loud
• Ian (4/5): Loved the location - Excellent location - right beside the beach so ideal for going to see the penguins. Parking available. Very strange room - the bed was one that folded up inside a wardrobe. Another single bed also in the huge room, as well as a sofa, and a dining room table with 6 chairs! Windows overlooked a side street where there was a gaming shop so noisy until late. We were there on a Friday night and the local kids surf club had a competition on so the loudspeaker was announcing races from 8 am.
• Stuart (7/5): It was good - The location is wonderful and close to all the services that I required I was surprised that the Restaurant wasn't well occupied which seems to be a waste of an opportunity. My suggestion is include it in the price which can obviously be pretty easy to do. It's not like there are many options available close by and this is a good up sell opportunity plus create jobs

There is nothing I don’t like about the property but it would help if you had smart tvs in the room.

• Rodney (10/5): Pleasant stay, will come back for longer stay. - Didn't have breakfast, every thing was good. Receptionist was very polite and very helpful. Very good at her job, and obviously loves doing that. Made us, very welcome. Lighting is a little dark, but loved everything else.

• lynellew2019 (10/5): Friendly helpful staff at well located hotel in Burnie - Delightful hotel opposite the waterfront where the Surf Life Saving Club was located. Easy walk to the Little Penguin Observation Centre. Fabulous restaurant Bayviews also just across the Road. Wonderful staff too!

I was on the corner of the building on the top floor & my friends were jealous of the view from my balcony, so a few of them visited before dinner for a wine.

Bathrooms need updating but were at least clean considering age. No basic kitchen items, plates or cutlery like a toaster. All food had to be bought or ordered.

Linen was clean but unfortunately the bed and pillows were terrible, had an awful sleep. Did not eat at the restaurant so unable to comment although trip advisor was not kind to them.
