We would have sought accommodation elsewhere where the facilities we were looking for were actually available.

- Anton (10/5): Comfort inn - amazing stay! - Amazing stay at bishops lodge, amazing room with adjoining room for the kids, very clean and well presented - only issue was hotels.com not passing on our contact information, comfort inn did their best to contact hotels.com to get my details but were unfortunately directed to an American email address. Luckily we showed up before they closed reception and the lady was incredibly welcoming and explained that she was just trying to let us know what to do if we showed up late. I would highly recommend comfort inn bishops lodge to any travellers passing through hay.

- Rolf (4/5): Paid for a King Suite, got a small Standard Room - Booked and paid for a King Suite $205.00. Arrived was given a Standard Room. No explanation. Tried to contact Reception at 6:35PM shortly after I arrived. Reception closed and locked up. Intercom no answer. Tried the Phone Number on the door. Rang out. No answer. Could not leave a message. Manager no where to be found. Room I was given was a small corner room. Dirty carpet and floor. Because of the corner location came with parking issues. Even though the Hotel was half empty, the Manager decided to cram everyone together in the back corner. Noisy neighbours. Noisy Highway right outside. Restaurant not open Friday/Saturday or Sunday. Breakfast $12.00 for something that came in a plastic box. Multigrain or Weetbix and some milk. I guess if you can't get basic things right like assigning the room that was paid for, you probably don't care about your customer. I will be passing through Hay quite often. Definitely won't be staying at the Bishops Lodge ever again.

- Donald (10/5): Good place to stay in Hay - This is a clean and functional place to stay, making it easy to self cater, and get on the road at a time that suits you. It is not in the centre of town, however. But with your own transport that is not a problem.

- john (10/5): Yummy meals - Really great meals! Room was all we needed for a one night stop. We were also able to charge our electric car. Pool was a nice bonus. A little traffic noise from large trucks but quite OK considering we were right on the main highway

Room was ok, bathroom very basic, easy check in/out, and parking right at door, very convenient. The Motel advertisers a tennis court, my daughter was looking forward to a game after a long drive, unfortunately the court is overgrown with weeds, no net, and clearly hasn't been usable for some years. It's dissapointing they're still advertising this as a feature.

- Belal (2/5): - I had an absolutely terrible experience staying at this motel. I found a black spider under the wardrobe, and there were wood mite insects everywhere—on the beds, pillows, towels, walls, and even the ceiling. It would have been better to sleep in my car or continue driving through the night than to spend another moment in that room! I was particularly concerned for my baby’s safety. None of us slept well as we tried to avoid all areas infested with insects, just to get some rest before continuing our journey the next day. We were also terrified that the insects might get into our belongings and come home with us. Although the motel provided insect spray, I don’t think this was an adequate solution. I strongly advise against staying at this motel—it was an appalling experience!
- Sarah (8/5): - The room for 2 adults & 2 children was comfortable, clean & modern. The kids swam in the pool which was good enough to cool down on a 36 degree day. We were disappointed the restaurant was closed without any prior notification. This made it difficult to find somewhere decent for dinner & no breakfast options. Overall, our room was very good for a one night stop over.

I arrived unannounced to the restaurant on a group booking night and I was lucky that the crew were able to squeeze me in, for what was, a tasty dinner at a reasonable price.

We had a second room for the kids which was large with their on couch, 2x single beds, heater/aircon and TV. The kids loved their room. The linen was nice and clean and crisp. Bathroom updated and clean. The service from the hotel manager was great, we arranged a late check in and early check out and was very easy. He even recommended the Hay Pizza bar for dinner that would still be open when we arrived late which was one thing we didn’t have to worry about when we got to Hay with the kids. Would definitely recommend to stay here.

Asked for garlic bread it was given to the wrong table and was served food after everyone else had eaten and left. Another table got uncooked food. We will not be returning. The shower in the room was not satisfactory either with no water pressure just dribbled out

- David (10/5): - We arrived late at night from Sydney on our way to Adelaide. I've stayed here many times years ago with a young family and was glad we could stay again. The property is on the main highway, so easy to find, but set back enough that it's quiet. Our car was covered in grasshoppers, moths and bugs from the Hay plains, and I made good use of the car-wash bucket and squeegee outside our room to clean the windscreen and lights. A great, thoughtful innovation. We did have minor incursions by bugs (not mozzies) when the door was open, but they caused no trouble and we were able to keep them out. One thing not rated in these reviews are the beds - a key feature for distance travelers. The lodge had great beds that were very comfortable. The microwave, fridge and tea facilities were much appreciated after a long drive. The room was large and the staff helpful. Looking forward to our next visit.

Lovely clean room, nice shower and comfortable bed and all the staff were helpful and friendly. Our only negative would be the parking, although there’s a lot the uneducated who park other guests in was our only worry. We knocked on the offenders door and They moved but seemed totally oblivious to parking at the side of the room for them to park in. If you’re in Hay I highly recommend staying here. There’s a restaurant onsite which we didn’t need as we have family in the town but we opt to stay here because the staff make the stay enjoyable

I accidentally booked on the wrong days through Wotif and she not only got us a room right there and then, but changed the booking dates for me so I didn’t have to go through Wotifs processes. The room was beautiful and the bed had lovely clean sheets. The bathroom was very cleanly and the tiles were spotless. Wet much recommend!

Cold tap a little noisy though. Only downer was smoke coming under the door from people smoking on either side of our room….it wasn’t very nice. Had to put pillows by the base of door to prevent the horrible smell coming in. Time for smokers to have own area away from the rooms.
