• Olivia (3/5): - The location. We arrived at the hotel at approximately 8am following an early flight. Prior to arrival, we had already informed the hotel that we would be arriving early, and we made it clear that we only wished to leave our luggage before exploring the city until check-in time. However, upon arrival, we were greeted by a receptionist who was extremely unfriendly and unprofessional. When we politely asked if we could leave our bags, he raised his voice and said, “Girls, it’s 8am, what do you want me to do? I have clients asleep.” This immediately created a very uncomfortable atmosphere and was not the welcoming start we expected. The following day, due to severe jet lag, we remained in the room until around 3pm. Earlier in the day, housekeeping had asked whether we wanted the room cleaned, and I explained that it was not necessary at that exact moment and asked if they could return later once we had left. I later messaged the hotel via WhatsApp requesting that the room be cleaned, only to be told by reception that it had already been done. I replied explaining that this was impossible, as we had been in the room the entire day. Instead of checking properly, the receptionist continued to argue with me and insisted the room had been cleaned and that they would not clean it again. It later became clear that he had confused us with another British group staying at the hotel. Despite this mistake, no apology was offered for the rude and dismissive manner in which we were treated. In addition, our room was covered in mould and felt damp throughout our stay. I raised this issue with reception, but the response was simply, “I’ll get the cleaners in.” Unfortunately, mould and dampness are clearly maintenance issues, not something housekeeping can resolve. No proper action was taken, and the condition of the room remained unacceptable. Finally, guests are required to pay a deposit upon arrival, which we did.

• Julius (6/5): Fair stay - The staff reception particularly Dominique was very nice. He helped me find a laundry shop nearby the hotel to wash my clothes. He also took the initiative to ask whether I needed my bags to be left at the reception for a few hours after I checked out from my room. This was super helpful as I had a few things needed to do today. I stayed there for a week, and I found the location for this hotel very accessible to all the work-related things that I had to do. It is also close to Kings Cross Library for admin tasks and close to Kings Cross Station to access transport across CBD and Central Sydney. For hygiene purposes I found the bedsheets (on my first day of stay) quite smelly. I informed this to Dominique and he was very receptive to my concerns. The bedsheets were replaced and cleaned. I never had issues after. Shoutout to Dominique for resolving this issue for me. It was not comfortable to enter my room because there were no elevators. I had 2 big bags as I came from the airport, and it was difficult to carry them all the way to first floor because they were both heavy.

My room was up the stairs from the entry (so passing the reception desk) and unfortunately the room doesn't really have any noise isolation by the door so I could hear the receptionist talking (checking in other guests) and they woke me up in the morning.

Great value for money, and the location is super convenient. The bathroom is a bit small and gets all wet when using the shower. I also would improve the cleaning... but overall it is perfect for a short stay. Good value for money.

The bed was extremely soft and uncomfortable, and the shower I think must share hot water with the next door apartment because when I was showering in the morning it kept flicking to being freezing, I assume when someone else was running a hot tap? The room was also missing a bunch of little things - hand towel, face cloths, dish towel, tissues, and the coffee cups provided won't fit under the spout of the coffee machine. Aside from the shower issue these do all seem really easy to fix, though.

One niggling issue too was being charged for a bottle of water which I drank while the water was cut off from the room for around two hours. A minor matter I admit, and the $4 for the cost of the bottle of water isn't going to break the bank, but I think management should have at least provided the water for free given the inconvenience of the plumbing work at the hotel for residents No wireless

I got a crazy good rate and so I am sure the rooms are based on rate. The location is so convenient. I thought the pillows were pretty average (very flat) and only two on the double bed. I got a room at the back of the hotel which was nice and quiet but no air or view at all. I way prefer the rooms with the balconies at the front of the hotel where I have stayed before. Room felt like a bit of a cupboard. The tea was awful and only one towel.

There isn’t a lift so you have to use the stairs. I liked this but if you have mobility issues you’d need to stay on the ground floor.

• Xin (2/5): Won’t choose it any more. - The positive side of this hotel is the customer service. The staff were polite, responsive, and handled issues relatively quickly. The location is also quite convenient. Firstly, the room was completely different from the photos shown at the time of booking. It was much smaller than expected. There was only one power outlet near the bed, which made it very inconvenient to charge phones, especially for multiple guests. Secondly, housekeeping was not provided daily. More importantly, cleanliness was a serious issue. When we first checked in, there were visible stains, including what appeared to be blood stains, on the bed sheets in both my room and my parents’ room. On several occasions, we also found small insects on the bed, which was quite alarming. Although the staff responded politely and changed the bedding on the third day after we reported the issue, the problem was not fully resolved. I still found an insect on the pillow afterward, and even the newly changed sheets had stains. This made the stay very uncomfortable and concerning. Overall, while the service attitude was good, the hygiene standards and room conditions did not meet expectations.

Made sure we had everything we needed and explained everything really clearly. The room was beautiful, with a lovely balcony. The location was perfect, only a few minutes away from Oxford St which was really important to us. The bathroom was also absolutely gorgeous! The air-conditioning kept us very comfortable. The Smart TV is a little misleading; it can only run cable TV and some other obscure stuff; no Chromecast, and YouTube does not work. The doors to the balcony are not very soundproofed, so you can hear everything on the nearby road, including construction early in the morning.

Comfy beds, awesome balcony room for chill hangs between meetings in town... and a just-perfect location in Darlinghurst, close to transport (quick walk from Kings Cross station) and SO CLOSE to amazing food and drink. will stay again :) no problems :)
• Tomas (10/5): Fantastic. - The room was excellent, cosy and comfy. The staff were incredibly kind throughout my stay. Couldn’t have stayed at a better place. I even ended extending for an extra night which was seamless. Can’t really fault
• Brooke (10/5): - The guys at reception were so nice and helpful. The room was everything I needed bed, shower and toilet. Its in a great location close to food, the train station and with in walking distance to the hospital which is why I was staying there.
