The beds were comfortable that's legit the only things I liked. Staff were not friendly, they looked grubby. It was dirty! And Dark. For an extra $40 I should of booked an entire apartment at the Quest TV didn't work Fridge didn't work
- Paint & Render (2/5): Disappointed is an understatement - Not much really Room was dirty. Shower was caked in scum. Microwave had grease all over it. Walls and floor dirty. Power to bedside table was dangerous to say the least. One of those Kmart specials used way too often. Sparked when I plugged my phone charger in. Toilet had shit stains in it. No joke. When I turned up my room key was in someone else’s name. The guy on the phone had no idea and babbled on. It sounds like I’m one of those pissy whining pricks but I’ll never stay there again. And yes I’m moving through there often.

- April (7/5): Good for a short stay in Mackay. - Good location, friendly staff- perfect for a short stay in Mackay. The room felt a bit rundown, especially the bathroom.

There is a nice restaurant attached to motel and they brought dinner over to our room. Food was very nice and beautifully presented. The bed was fairly basic and too hard for our liking.

No toaster in one of our rooms so couldn’t make toast for breakfast as planned. Absolutely no plates or cutlery in the rooms. Somebody parked in our parking spot which made it harder to get elderly father to our room.

Window very small. Very busy road. For those familiar with UK hotels etc it reminded me of a poor Travelodge. Wouldn't recommend, wouldn't stay again. Stayed in motels across Australia and New Zealand and had better for similar amount of money.

- Susan (7/5): Value for money. - Great location and great food at restaurant. Just the noise from the overhead planes landing was a shock. But that does stop around 9pm. The owners are so friendly and amazing service. It’s in the flight path and noise is so loud thought the plane was landing on me.

The Motor Inn is well located, central to most things in Mackay. Would have been good to have plates, wine glasses and the full range of cutlery available in the room. In saying that, the room offered almost everything required for a short term stay.

- Cadence (4/5): There were issues with noise, a plumbing leak and damaged linen, the manager did his best to resolv. - The owner and manager have a positive attitude to resolving issues and agreed to refund the second nights accommodation when there was no option to stay, and I had to find another motel to stay in. The NOISE from the main road, NOISE overhead from helicopters and planes landing, Noise from the industrial garbage collection next to my room at 5am. I mentioned to the manager that the noise should be advised on the web page, so people have a choice to stay there or not. It's unreasonable to expect customers to find out how noisy the location is until they arrive and pay... especially if they've been travelling all day and also, being on the flight path for the local airport! The clean, white linen was stained/damaged and I had to ask for it to be replaced at 8 o'clock at night. The manager was helpful and replaced the linen before I went to bed. The next morning, the manager explained to the cleaner what had happened. The cleaner refused to listen, walked off, disrespectfully. There was a plumbing issue, the shower recess leaked water half way across the bathroom floor, even when it wasn't being used. The manager was good about it. The room was determined as Out of Service and the only other room available was a pet friendly room. I stayed one night, then found another place to stay for the 2nd night in town.

Parking conveniently right outside the room. The bed was comfortable, not cloud-like but it certainly didn't keep us awake at night. The staff were friendly and happy to help and, check-in and check-out was uncomplicated. A toaster/plates/cutlery would be helpful in the room - we had to ask for a those but the staff were more than happy to supply them.
