Guest Reviews
- Janelle (9/5): -
- Baylee (10/5): -
- Freeman (2/5): Just dont as you'll be dissapointed - In simple terms just check in as staff were polite but obviously didnt read my reservation ! In simple terms its a shit show. I asked for a quiet room and I faced a busy road so no sleep. The Pillows provided were just terrible, bed very poor quality, you could feel the springs, There was black mould in the shower. Citlery adn crockery were just oddments put together. The bed side table was pushed in and bent the lamp plug. Marks on white walls everywhere. Its obviouslyt that this Mantra does not meet the general standard like Matra Sydney airport.
- Amit (8/5): -
- David (4/5): Crappy dump - Nothing Everything was stained or dirty i paid extra for balcony it was 2 tiles wide looking at a carpark
- Le Bas (8/5): -
- Wendy (4/5): - Had to change rooms, nothing worked in the first room.
- Samuel (2/5): Would not recommend staying here. Terrible location and the rooms were poor. Better accomodation close by. - Not much at all to like. The location is terrible and the rooms were not up to the standard you expect from Mantra. Our friends also were put in a room that was nothing like the photos (smaller, less amenities).
- Ellen (1/5): Do not stay here - Nothing. The location is in an odd industrial area that is not walkable and not close to food or ammentities. The room facilities were outdated and in poor condition. Including a slightly broken shower door and poorly constructed desk. The mattress felt so worn like I could feel the springs and the pillows were horrendously thin. It was unclean, including heavy dust on furniture and blinds, grime in the bathroom, marks on the walls and yellowing linen, particularly the doona. The gas cooktop part of the kitchennete was also soiled and looked old. The images provided on the booking.com site do not match the actual rooms. The photos look doctored compared to the actual room and are falsely advertised. My room was shown to have double mirror doors and to be much larger than it was. However the room I was booked into was very small without any full length mirrors. Additionally, there was no provided guidebook in the room.
The front desk were hesistant to help much when I enquired about my booking. They did inspect and conclude it did not match my booking but also that some rooms lack featured ammentities. In such case update your description and photos. After I enquired about a refund upon check out which I was told I could do they were very defensive and told me that management did not work.weekends, nor did they make any record or notes of my complaint about the room the day prior. The customer service is not adequate.
There is signs for a gymnasium but there is no gym. The room had a singular treadmill, one incline bench and two adjustable dumbbells that would have maxed out around 15kg for one.
Overall, there were no upsides to this stay. It was unclean, disingeniously advertised and poorly managed.
- Elisha (7/5): -
- Miltiadis (3/5): - Location The bed was very uncomfortable
- Jacki (10/5): -
- David (3/5): I was dissapointed with Mantra Castle Hill, previously could not get a booking so assumed it must be good? - Great location. Nice sized rooms. Furnishings and fittings are aged. Missing basic kitchen items. Cleaning not up to expected standard of Mantra branded hotel.
- Deborah (9/5): -
- Roger (6/5): Average place to stay - Cleaned well
Great parking
Nice reception staff A bit dated
Aircon didn’t work well
- Maria (5/5): Average - Staff were lovely The location, it should be mentioned it is in an industrial area. Very isolated in particular at night.
- Balthazaar (7/5): Alright - Car park and location Rooms didn’t match the photos in the website.
Old building. Old carpets
Bit of bad odour from the carpets at times
Can be a bit cheaper for this condition. $2200 for five night for family in this building is bit expensive.
$1500 to 1750 would have been ideal or fair call
- Ray (8/5): - Helpful staff Location.
A little isolated away from shops etc
- Oleni (10/5): Comfortable - Comfort of the room and beds, nice and clean Nothing
- Guest (10/5): -
- PHILIP (9/5): -
- Natalie (8/5): Great location, close to Castle Towers. - The location. There were quite a few items missing from the kitchen. Bowls, cutlery.
- Ben (3/5): Short stay so room sufficed however I would want to spend any extended time. - Staff were lovely. Hotel was dated and dirty
- Eija (7/5): - Office staff were very polite and was easy to work . Find this property was really hard ,even we got navigation.
Our room was very basics . We got two people but only one champagne glass and one wine glass .
Hairdryer was broken .
Room need good cleaning and renovation.
- Anita (4/5): Have stayed before, but won’t be returning. - Staff followed up with me when I let them know of the poor housekeeping I had, to make sure it had being improved after my request down at reception. Kitchenette was not fully equipped (no normal glasses, only champagne glasses and 2 small mugs for drinks).
Towels left on floor not replaced.
Housekeeping and reception calls were not answered when tried.
- Miriam (10/5): -
- Jason (3/5): Unpleasant - Staff were nice and helpful. Location was terrible in industrial estate.
Hotel swipe card never worked, had to get it reset each time.
Definately not up to Accor standards
- Erin (2/5): - Location was good Not clean, broken facilities
- Amanda (6/5): Expensive relative to its quality - Location was reasonably convenient for my work purposes and had free undercover parking. Windows opened. The room was expensive relative to its quality, and there was an unexplained discrepancy between the price I paid for a double room ($255) and the price my colleague paid for a larger room with a separate bedroom ($190). When my colleague booked and got a lower price, I looked at rebooking through Booking.com and directly through Accor, but couldn't access the same rate. When this was brought up at the property, they were unable to provide an explanation.
The mattress was thin and had no mattress protector. Curtains didn't close properly in the middle and there was a big gap under the door that let a lot of light in. Fridge needed cleaning. Aircon worked when first turned on but not later in the evening.
- Toby (1/5): Location was great but the space needs to be cleaned up well. - The location It was so badly maintained. Dirty so so dirty. It had somebody else’s underwear’s in the shelf.
The couch was so messy
- Paul (8/5): -
- Michael K (10/5): -
- Ruth (7/5): -
- David (1/5): do not recommend - Room 504A, lounge was covered in stains, appalling.
Cockroaches in lounge room, bedroom, and bathroom.
Bird poop on car in underground car park from nesting Swallows.
Floor in lift has dirt and nasty stains on the carpet.
Even the "Mantra" rug in the reception was stained and dirty. see above
no breakfast option that I thought was offered on web site.
- Sue (9/5): Fantastic stay - Staff were great
Had an issue with our bathroom as soon as we made them aware they sorted a new room
Room were clean
Location was fab Nothing
- Karlean (10/5): Very clean and tidy.. staff friendly and helpful. Bonus underground parking 😁 - Nice and clean and tidy. The updated tap cards are definitely an upgrade. The office staff very friendly and helpful. A bonus too with underground parking. Thankyou 😁
- Wachiraporn (8/5): -
- Michael (8/5): -
- Barbara (8/5): Good sized room with kitchen facilities, comfortable bed, plenty of parking. - The room size was good with small kitchen facilities. Comfortable bed. Compact bathroom. Plenty of parking.
The hotel entrance is in the back of the industrial area. A bit deceiving, but easy once you find it.
Located close to Windsor Road, Norwest and Castle hill, Bella Vista areas. Bathroom shower screen could have been cleaner.
- Stuart (4/5): Run down, needs freshening up. Just too old to charge those rates. - Not clean, smelly drains and curtain rail fell off the wall.
- Baylee (10/5): Excellent!! - The reception staff are all amazing, very helpful and my whole stay I was made to feel very comfortable which normally I feel a little anxious while staying hotels, different story here! Will definitely stay again in the future when I’m back in the castle hill area. Everything was fine, no complaints!
- Graham (6/5): -
- Lisa (1/5): The worst hotel I ever stayed at. - Nothing. This place is a complete dive An embarrassment to the Accor brand. Filthy. Fingernail clippings in bed. Big greasy hand prints on windows. Curtains with big brown stains, broken and first hooks, hangings off rails. Toilet stunk of urine. Tea bags - but no kettle or cups. Kitchen but no chopping board or knife. Paid for a king sized upgrade and got two sagging, moth eaten single beds, pushed together. Beds looked like they were recovered from one of the multitude of skip bins that greet you as your try to navigate through an industrial area to find the hotel entrance.
This place is utterly repulsive - do not book here.
- Pradeep (3/5): -
- Angela (4/5): - Friendly staff Felt like a prison, no facilities, location in an industrial estate, public hair on bathroom tiles and towels
- michael (5/5): I needed to be close to lakeview Hospital and it was very convenient for that. Needs to be refurbish - The Bed was very comfortable. has most things you need for a couple of days stay. Bathroom, The bath shower is not good when you have any type of disability. Found it so hard to get in and out of shower, very small and closed in with no room to move. had quite a bit of built up dirt and toilet stains. Kitchen does not have many utilities for a couple of nights stay.
- Suzanne (4/5): Disappointing for the price. Thankfully I brought a book with me - Clean sheets and bathroom There was no TV remote. When one arrived, the volumn on the TV did not work.
There was no shower gel in the shower, just moisteriser
There was no knives, plates, toaster or kettle. It was meant to have this in the kitchette
Lamp at bedside did not work
- Tunganetokorua (7/5): - Clean Maybe the bed is too low
- Rowan (8/5): -
- Michael (8/5): nice clean and was comfortable for a nights stay. - Room was large and was comfortable. Separate bedroom was nice and kitchen facility was good. Did not like that the Air-conditioner was a very small undersized split system in the lounge room only. We needed to keep the bedroom door open all night for the cold air to circulate into it and even then, it did very little to cool.
- Scott (5/5): - Over priced for what you got.
- Keith (7/5): -
- David (1/5): Very disappointed considering it was an upgrade because my original room wasn’t ready even when I arrived right on check - It was quiet. It was dirty and cockroaches everywhere . Also very minimal cutlery and crockery . The couch was dirty and stained .
- Joan (7/5): Very hard to find - Easy parking The front desk is very hard to find have to go through an industrial complex around a corner a then there it is. Maybe more signage would be good.
- Jeremy (6/5): Comfortable room but not somewhere to stay without a car to get places - Room was a good size for a single room, table and chairs provided a spot to sit that was not on the bed and allowed me to be self-sufficient. Aircon was good and kept the room consistently cool. Hotel is at the back of a semi commercial area, there is nothing around it to walk to. The entry gate to the garage was stuck down, no signage to say to use the other entrance or where to park. Noise travels through the hallways and rooms significantly, there is no way to close a door quietly unless you try, most other guests didnt try, even at 1am. It felt like i could hear movement and activity for most of the night.
- Vijayathasan (1/5): -
- Michael (7/5): Met my needs well, but glad I had a car ... - was a one-bedroom apartment with a full kitchen. Though I didn't need to make use of it.
Unit was light and airy, with good airflow. clean and comfortable. Location might disappoint as it's in a commercial area, not near any restaurants or retail venues. Didn't notice a lot of public transport in the vicinity.
Access is within a factory unit complex, which might confuse those looking for it.
Its not that I didn't like it, just found it in an odd location.
- Natalie (7/5): Served our short term stay but was far too expensive. - Loved the space in the units, fast lifts and parking availability. The bathrooms were clean and carpet vacuumed but all the other surfaces need a good clean.
- Yuvraj (10/5): -
- Karlean (10/5): Staff friendly, rooms are good size and under ground parking 👍 - Good to have under parking, staff are great. Room is a decent size with all the facilities you need.
- Greg (7/5): Great location - Location Only gave me one tell for the four days
- Michael (5/5): Although we were able to stop & rest. It wasn’t value for money- & we won’t be staying here again. - It was a stop over on our way home- adequate but not exceptional- Very difficult to find the entrance to the Mantra- tucked in behind/middle of an Industrial area- even though we had an upgrade it was very very tired. We were warned about the dodgy bathroom handle- but I managed to get locked in twice- quite distressing-
luckily my husband was on the outside to fiddle with the handle. This unit should not have had guests until the issue was fixed!
- Marina (6/5): Adequate for the purpose of my visit - Bed was comfy. The location was convenient for my visit but the entry was a little hard to find The bathroom was small and in need of refurbishment, mould stains in the floor tile grout and bottom of shower screen. Carpet was also stained
- Steven (7/5): - Clean and comfortable Location not the greatest,
- Sophie (5/5): ok - Location was close were we need it to be Wasnt very clean when we arrived
- Felicity (5/5): -
- Blake (10/5): -
- David (5/5): - The fridge was cold Lounge broken. No fans or cooling in bedroom..
- Mohammad Emran (9/5): -
- Fiona (4/5): Probably won’t be a returning customer. - Free parking Tired, run down, room felt dirty and for the love of god do not look under your bed sheets. Fortunately we only saw what lay beneath as we were packing to checkout.
- Nasar (1/5): Bad experience - The lift was broken, the receptionist was stinking like rotten fish even from a distance. Had to cancel booking. Reception staff, lift facility
- Razkar (1/5): -
- John (5/5): Basic amenities, hotel in need of renovation. - Welcome from staff Cleanliness of room, aged crockery in kitchen, broken curtains&No air conditioning in bedroom.
- Marc-Edouard (7/5): -
- Alison (3/5): A disappointing experience. Will not recommend. - Decor Mattress had coil sticking through the top, no knives and forks, one of the stove burners did not work, kitchen bench top was dirty and sticky - had not been wiped down, unable to close the shower door. No security in the car park, no security from the car park to lobby.
- Margaret (4/5): For $180 per night, it was very very disappointing. Expected a lot better! - Bed was comfortable. Water in shower was nice and hot. Reception was lovely considering I made a late check-in at 10.15pm The shower door was broken. The tv didn't work. The bathroom smelt musky. Lots of traffic noise. WiFi was useless. Booking said hairdryer was supplied, so I didn't bring mine - there was no hairdryer.
- Karen (7/5): -
- Ann-Maree (5/5): - staff Bed was terrible
Lounge was stained, and uncomfortable
No a/c in bedroom
- Nick (1/5): I will never stay there again. - Location was good It was very old, looks like the furniture is 20 years old, and sinks when you sit on it like it is 20 years old. The mattress is so worn. Wifi wasn't working. And based on options when I booked it mentioned breakfast for $15. But when i arrived there is no kitchen - so no breakfast, no room service available - it is essentially a bed and crappy one at that.
I would have left the room and gone to stay elsewhere, if there had been a reception - they left as soon as I arrived.
- Wendy (10/5): Happy as usual 😍 - We go there a lot , good value All up to expectations
- David (3/5): Great potential, but insufficient investment to reach it. - Staff were very friendly and seemed to go out of their way to help, but were clearly limited by a lack of resources. Rooms were good size, and the provision of a washing machine and tumble dryer in the one bedroom unit was helpful. The hotel has great potential, but is let down by poor maintenance. Curtains were torn and did not fit properly any more, the air conditioning did not work, there was insufficient crockery for our room and the carpets did not appear to have been vacuumed for some time. Also, the keys were continually demagnetising, and since the desk is only staffed until 8pm, there was always the concern of being locked out of your room.
- Wesley (4/5): Disappointing. - Only 10min drive to Valentine Sport Park. No staff at desk to check me in on arrival, stood there waiting for 20mins.
Reverse cycle aircon didn't work so no heating in winter .
No tea coffee in the room.
Hotel located in random industrial complex, no decent food and beverage in walking distance anywhere.
Birds nesting in the undercover carpark, found my car covered in bird poo after one night.
- Julie (1/5): Absolutely awful - Nothing It was filthy everything was broken I paid for a king and on the first night I got a queen and didn’t get money back for the mistake the washing machine flooded everywhere there was cockroaches no kettle it was filthy couldn’t watch normal tv cups and plates were dirty the place needs to be condemned
- Mufaddal (1/5): -
- Melinda (1/5): Never ever again - Onsite parking Apart from being locked out of our room for 7 hours due to a door malfunction and no emergency locksmith? One of the bedrooms had no curtains and staff were unable to assist with that. There were not enough towels, not even enough for one per guest. There was a grimey cap under the table (guess the cleaner didn't do such a great job) and the room's overall decor was very old. It's located in the middle of an industrial area, surrounded by warehouses.
- Sarah Jane (1/5): Very shocking - It was unclean and very dirty Cigarettes on balcony (15)
cockroaches in drawers
Food crumbs in knifes & fork draw
Carpet not vacuumed due to there vacuum being blocked which I fixed
Food stains on the walls
black mould in the air conditioning
Human hair on base of kettle
Black mould in shower
Clothing left in bathroom
I did ask them to clean
- Satheeswaran (10/5): - Every thing good.
- Shweta (1/5): -
- Shane (7/5): -
- Samantha (8/5): -
- Mohamad Taufiq (10/5): -
- Thandie (5/5): -
- Ian (8/5): - Location
- Marian (7/5): Convenient and neat/tidy. Friendly staff. Bonus free parking. - Convenient location and friendly staff. Free parking. Shower door wouldn’t close completely. Reported to staff on check-out. Gym had basic equipment.
- Rachel (6/5): Not what you’d expect from a mantra at all. - The staff were lovely , we had an after hours checkin . The lounge was red but you could see how dirty it was and how badly it needs a clean. It didn’t feel nice sitting on it .
The curtain in the room was all ripped and needs replacing .
The shower drain had handfuls of hair in it from previous guests .
There was tea and coffee on the counter but no milk to make a cuppa and no vending machines to get food or snacks (or milk for that matter).
- Coral (8/5): - The Mantra was a little hard to find but it suited us for our stay and was good value and comfortable and clean. The facilities are looking a little old and worn.
- James (1/5): I will never stay at this hotel again and I will tell all of my freinds and relatives the same. - The free undercover parking This was probably the worst hotel that I have stayed in for many years. The electronic key for the doors did not always work, The curtains in the room were broken and would not close, the air conditioner was not working properly, the bathroom was not cleaned properly and had a strong urine smell. Power points were broken the room was generally dingy and needed a thorough clean.
- Ama (8/5): - Convenient location with good value for the money we spent over the 7 days stay. Loved it being only 5 mins away from our family who we were visiting and the free car parking.
The cleanliness can be improved.
Staff were very friendly and super helpful.
Overall it was a good stay and we would stay again.
Thank you
- John (5/5): Cheal, convenient, and don't ask for much. - It was a place to spend Christmas Night between travels in and out of Sydney. It was cheap by comparison. It was well located near the M7, which helped us get going in the morning to our next destination. The room was spacious and clean. It is looking rather rundown. We arrived on Christmas Day. There was only one staff member on the reception desk who gave us wrong information about the availability of breakfast. The corridors of Level 1 smelt of smoke, although the room was pleasant. The tap in the kitchen sink was hanging loose. One of the bedside table lamps was not working. We were told that there was a change of management in progress, and not all facilities were available. We asked for a late check-out but were walked in on by a room cleaning maid quite early, which was embarrassing -- and I mean she didn't wait for us to answer the door -- she just walked in!!!
