• MARYROSE (7/5): - The room was clean. Bed was comfortable and always like the fact that there are more than one pillow to select from. The bathroom is a bit outdated. There was no soap but fortunately we always carry our own for the shower but would have been nice to have it for washing our hands. No tissues in the room.

It was a hot day, air-conditioner would have been a nice feature to have had. No soap in the room, had to go and collect from reception as I had left my travel toiletry bag at home.

• Elmine (5/5): Good location but that’s all I can say. - The location was excellent. The beds were comfortable. No hairdryer. No wifi. The parking space for the unit we stayed in, was a joke. Tiny and overgrown. They didn’t give us enough towels and since we got there late on a Friday, we couldn’t ask. The man running the place is rather grumpy and unfriendly. We survived but we won’t be staying there again.

We had to request towels, t towels, soap etc. The power also went out about 7.00am on Sunday with no notification, so we left and bought breakfast at the bakery. Overall the experience was not entirely enjoyable.

The ring neck parrots ( which the proprietor didn’t know anything about ) were in the trees . They are beautiful birds and I was happy to see them there . No aircon Shower appeared to be a handyman job and hot water only available via a little lever that had to be turned on and off . TV didn’t work Power points - only one worked . Electric blanket didn’t work Old stained face washer left to wash dishes . Spare toilet roll not wrapped in paper - was it from another unit ? Furnishings tired and grubby . Carpet stained and smelly. Due to the cold temperature we asked for another blanket at reception. A blanket was subsequently pulled out of a box beside the front door , which was highly unhygienic . Office not open when we checked out - at 9.03am . We were not inform where to leave the key as we were under the impression that the office would be open . So we were not able to voice these concerns to the proprietor. The motel needs a complete renovation . The gardens and grass are overgrown and need some TLC . The location is beautiful and a clean refurbished functioning motel would be an asset to the town.

While everything else in terms of amenities is manageable cleanliness is very important when you travel with young kids, for the price i paid
• Ken (4/5): We won't be coming back! - The motel is located close to town facilities, eg hotel. This motel is dated and very tired. The room, décor and facilities have not been updated since the 1970s. We were not provided with soap, shampoo or conditioner! It was frustratingly difficult to contact the owner - his phone went to voicemail. At reception, there was a sign on the door indicating that the office was unattended. When we finally made contact with the owner he said that the sign was always on the door but that he was there - very confusing to say the least.
