Guest Reviews
- David (8/5): - In it's hay day it would have been an amazing place , like so many of these places they require a huge amount of expenditure to maintain and run which was showing. The staff did a great job with what they had to work with
- LEN (6/5): - Hi there:
Thank you for the email. but some how when we went to the place , they charged us $220 for the stay??
We don't understand what was the rules.
anyway next time should give us the true price or asking the vender follow your marked price will be nice.
- Michelle (8/5): - If you’re looking for heritage this is the place for you. If you’re looking for a place that has somewhere to
eat, swim and play tennis, it has it all. I enjoyed the uniqueness of this place. Makes you realise how old Tamborine Mountain is.
- julie (2/5): - We had planned to stay here for three nights. But left after two.
The hotel is very neglected. The rooms are extremely neglected just about everything it’s broken or not functioning as it should also filthy. You don’t want to use it.
The hot water tap had a hammer that would wake the entire complex every time you tried to turn it on. The curtains were so filthy. I didn’t feel like I could close them because I didn’t want to touch them. The door lock was broken on the Veranda and the only thing keeping it in place was a slide bolt . The windows had to be kept open at all times because of the smell in the room from being mouldy and dusty. What made worse was the people Next Door with smokers? So on occasion you needed to close the windows and then smell the dust? Not sure what’s worse smoke or dust?
The hallways were covered in cobwebs and the door opposite our room frame was so rotted away that it didn’t reach the ground any more.
Our first day/night there the room next door was not made up and the doors left open and the stench of the wet towel seat into the corridor just adding to the general ambience of the place.
On entering the room the first sight we had was a dead cockroach on the ground followed by a dead spider. The only benefit I suppose is that they were dead.
There was no hand soap or shower wash I didn’t bother asking for more because I thought I was for better to use stuff I brought from HoME.
Would not recommend staying here at all.
- Stephen (10/5): - Anniversary celebration. We go here each year. Feels like home. Safe and friendly. Love it and Tamborine Mountain.
- Skye (10/5): - Property was unique, clean and staff were excellent. Restaurant food was amazing
- Mark (10/5): - Everything was special. We will be back
- Rachael (8/5): - Charged our EV also. Pretty gardens.
- Mark (6/5): - Building is aged but style is nice Victorian era.
The staff are a bit impersonal and not very friendly.
The price is slightly expensive for what you get
- Kylee (10/5): - Great location. Clean, comfortable and quiet rooms. Comfortable bed and a nice hot shower.
Lovely grounds with a friendly kookaburra. Staff are very friendly. Restaurant, pool, courts and close to shops.
- Ali (10/5): - The food was amazing with lots of gluten free and vegetarian options that cost a lot less than a lot of cafe's. The Victorian Suite was spacious, charming and had thick walls so I could play my guitar at night without disturbing anyone. The four-poster bed was very comfortable and I slept like a faery princess!
- Anthony (10/5): - Property is a couple of minutes walk to the gallery walk.
Room was clean and plenty of room.
Dining in old part of property has charactor. Food was well presented and good quality.
Staff were freindly and efficient.
Overall a great experience.
- Jan (10/5): - Very good
- Aurora (10/5): - Charming little place that’s located perfectly, walking distance to Gallery Walk, the brewery, and creamery. The staff were absolutely lovely, with lots of local recommendations. The decor is whimsical and everything was spotlessly clean
- Dannielle (10/5): - Super old-fashioned like something out of Fawlty Towers. But a great place to stay dinner was amazing. The first night the rooms are very generous in size even though they’re quite funky and out there. Shower pressure is also amazing to have a shower would recommend and would definitely stay again.
- Carolyn (8/5): - We found the room large well appointed and good value for money. We would stay again
- Karen (10/5): - The property was very quaint and the room extremely comfortable and the food was lovely unfortunately the staff were incredibly rude and inhospitable which was very disappointing as they seem to be the owners. I would stay there again to try it one more time as the property itself was lovely and great location.
- Karen (8/5): - We keep coming back to the Manor because we really like the old world charm, comfortable, spacious rooms and location. We love the lounge and dining area and the food is wonderful. Being a heritage property, the constant upkeep and costs of maintance/replacement would be considerable and the owners are doing their best. There is work to be done but it does not detract from the experience of staying here. We keep coming back and recommend you visit.
- Adam (8/5): - Overall the stay was great. Very comfortable, even with the furnishings with the room.
Good points, shower had power, especially good after long days traveling. Comfy bedding with extra pillows.
Only negative - room booked for 3 Adults (Bed and sofa bed - had to pull out and set up the sofa bed) Not enough towels for three either.
- Aimzpage (2/5): Would never recommend - When we arrived, the front of the building looked good. The staff were lovely. Then we were taken to our room and as we entered the building, it was just yuck... smelled musty and of cigarettes. The dust and cobwebs, carpet is so old it needs replacing. Got into the room and I nearly left then... probably should have. The mattress needs replacing, was springs poking out and made noise everything we moved. The taps fell off the wall in the shower that had cracked tiles and mold. The freezer in the bar fridge was frozen over with spilled red liquid in it. The fireplace which was gorgeous was not in use and instead had a tiny, kogan, electric fireplace put in front of it.. the lounge is broken, one side sinks down and the other side has a big spring poking up the middle. Was meant to be a romantic night away but can safely say i was glad to no longer be in that room and grateful it was only for one night. Would not recommend for anyone with health issues or allergies..
- Luke (4/5): - Don’t stay here. Bed was terrible the
- Robert (6/5): - If you like a place with a lot of old character and charm this is for you. This would have been really nice once upon a time but it's starting to need some love. The floors clunk and creak, there were cracked tiles and a vent hanging off the wall. The small A/C was the only heating and was not up to the task, it was -1c this morning.
The plus side was everything was clean and the bed was comfy so still a lot better than many places.
PS If you want dinner check first as they only open certain nights.
- Stuart (8/5): - The Manor is only a short walk to the "Gallery Walk" at Tamborine Mountain. The Manor is at the front of the property and contains the restaurant, decorated with items from the original family. The accommodation rooms are behind the main building, and decorated as a charming country manor.
I would not have thought that it is wheelchair friendly; but there is an electric car charger at the front.
The only disappointing note is that it could do with a refresh, and there is a need for some maintenance on fixings.
Overall, I'd consider coming back again.
- Susan (10/5): - Short walk to gallery walk. Comfortable bed.
- Samantha (8/5): - We had a nice stay for two nights. The room was inexpensive but had everything we needed. The staff were lovely, noting a particularly exceptional moment of customer service where a man at the front desk went out of his was to get the coffee machine back up and running after that service had stopped, just to make a coffee for me. I didn’t have the expectation that someone should do that for me but it was greatly appreciated that he went above and beyond for me.
The bed was also quite comfortable and the shower surprisingly good for an older establishment.
The bar area had so much charm. We really enjoyed having a few drinks there. And there’s a great brewery right across the road.
We will definitely be back frequently for our staycations, especially if they keep their prices so competitive.
The visits to our balcony from the local birds was also a highlight.
Thank you to the team for such a great little getaway. :)
- Ahineea (10/5): - Very nice
- Russell (8/5): - 1. Room was spacious with separate lounge area to raised floor section that housed the bed and bedroom furniture.
2. The TV screen was on the small side and the remote didn't work. Was attended to by the manager - it may have needed fresh batteries. 3. The shower recess is looking tired and non-sterile; it is in need of a good clean - had missing sealant where wall tiles meet the floor tiles. 4. No microwave provided. 5. Overall though it was a comfortable place to stay for a few nights.
- Luke (10/5): - Beautifully layed out and maintained location. Gorgeous rooms, plenty of space, and scenic areas.
- Liz (8/5): - Historical nature of the property. Room was spacious with a nice balcony. However, the view from our balcony looked on the back of the main building and it is definitely needing some love. Still, however , a lovely garden with birds. Also a pickleball court, a sauna (??) and a pool (we didn't use).
- lisa (10/5): - Fantastic hospitality; amazing restaurant with huge variety of tasty meal options.
Room upgraded also, olde worlde charm☺️
- Kerrie (4/5): - The room stunk musty like the carpets had been wet at stage. The bed was uncomfortable.
- Mikyla (8/5): - The staff were so lovely and helpful. The food in the restaurant was amazing!
- Karen (4/5): - The manor is beautiful outside. Inside the unit it is mouldy. The bed was hard. The blankets had stains. The bathroom was where you made coffee or tea. The orange carpet had huge mould stains. Would loved to leaved but had no where else to go. Tried to call reception no answer.
- Richard (10/5): - The Manor was enjoyable location with a lot of history. Rooms were well presented, a little worn, but this is expected.
Service from check in to check out was exceptional, really made you feel at home.
Restuarant was fabulous, service once again excellent, food was great and quite reasonable priced.
- Tania (4/5): - Sadly we were waiting for reprieve from the hot weather as the air conditioner struggled to cool the large room. Being such a small unit even at 16 degrees, it failed. Thankfully my partner and l managed to get to sleep. The shower was not functioning properly & my partner played with to get the pressure right. Sleep is a priority. No room service was a letdown.
- Stephen (8/5): - Very friendly staff …a family run business which is great to see …..
- Cameron (10/5): - Great Owners and Staff are amazing will be going back
- Chris (8/5): - Was comfortable and great value
- Cushla (10/5): - The owners were very helpful at all times and went above and beyond to make our night enjoyable
- VILAYPHONE (8/5): - 1960 set up love it
- Jayden (8/5): - The room was absolutely gorgeous and beyond spacious. Booked only because of the decor of the rooms. All Victorian/80s/90s themed- it was like being in Europe. Designated luggage room near bathroom. The location is the best there is, such a short walk to the Gallery Walk. The property, which is so picturesque, could use some TLC. Would stay again has evident charm
- Karen (8/5): - Beautiful old property, owners have kept with the history of the manor.
- peter (8/5): - Restaurant not open on Suday Eve
- Angela (4/5): - 4 all night. Bed comfortable but bed side lamps very dirty. No sleep due to a feeling of asthma attack coming on and a constant wheeze in my chest. Up early and felt very unwell indeed. Showered in the fantastic shower, packed up and headed home. We were due to stay x2 nights, we could only do 1.
We feel that a good thorough clean would be a great asset. Get rid of all those dust collected items like the old rattan, frilly cushions and lace curtains!
1 night away has resulted in me probably needing a week off work now due to respitory illness.
- Peter (8/5): - We stayed 2 nights and we didn’t get fresh linen the second night.
- Vicki (10/5): - This place is old fashion but in a charming way .four poster bed and it look last century. Its very quiet and convenient to gallery walk.
- Jack (10/5): - Absolutely beautiful, nice and quiet, relaxing, fresh air, was like staying in a castle
- Ritendra (10/5): - Nice place to stay and escape from urban congestion
- Sai Teja (10/5): - Lovely place, old asthetics. Travelled back in time q century. Beautifully maintained. Comfortable stay.
- Sonia (10/5): - Love the vintage decor staff were friendly and helpful. The food was very good and at a reasonable price. Great location to the gallery walk/shops. Will stay again. Aspects of the place need a refurbish and fixing up.
- Karen (10/5): - Very homely feel. We loved it and had a great time. Would highly recommend.
- trudy (8/5): - Wow this place is so much fun, quirky as. Dinner at the restaurant, such a magic old fashion building - food was basic but good, atmosphere and staff amazing - highly recommend as a weekend getaway or gathering with friends
- millcher513 (10/5): A little breakfast gem filled with old world charm - Had a wonderful unplanned little breaky and coffee at The Manor. Lovely place with a lot of old charm and character. Beautiful friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere and very reasonably priced. Definitely a place to stop when on the mountain.
- Chris (10/5): - Nothing at the Manor is too much for the management and staff.
They're very accommodating and make you feel like you are staying with family.
It should be everyone's first choice for accommodation at Mt Tamborine.
- Madonna (10/5): - I love the beautiful historical building, rooms & furniture. Staff are very friendly. Great shower and bed.
- Piper (6/5): - Very gorgeous room and place, visibly old but adds to the charm, pool is dirty and not heated but wasn't much of a problem as there is a lot of cute cafes and activities within walking distance or a short drive.
- MD Majharul (10/5): - 5star
- Melissa (10/5): - I love this place, the old Style of the was great to see, I want to go back all the time
- Azizah (10/5): - All good
- Jan (6/5): - Bed ok, hot water ok, rest is very tired and uncared for.
- Michael (10/5): - Very restful
- Alan (8/5): - Great place to stay freindly staff and good food. The property could use some TLC.
- Michael (8/5): Old world charm but needing some upgrade - It was OK. The image of old world charm needs to be backed up with quality furnishings and fittings. Although interesting the rooms are ‘tired’with some maintenance required on walls, taps, shower (dirty), blankets (dirty), even the AC. Service is friendly rather than efficient. Transit from car park to accommodation would be uncomfortable in rainy weather. Menu at restaurant was good and prices reasonable
- Sharon (10/5): - Such a lovely place. We spent 2 nights. We will return. Very clean 😁
- Joanne (10/5): - Beautiful hotel which offered old world charm. Lovely staff who were very welcoming and helpful. Restaurant offered home style, yummy food.
- Verne (8/5): Family stay. - We were so excited to stay here as we love the Victorian era, but unfortunately we were put in a balcony suite, not a Victorian suite that we had booked.
We double checked our booking and it was for the Victorian suite, but the owners said these aren't big enough for families. This needs to be updated on the hotels. Com site, as this created disappointment. We still loved the manor, and the grand entrance however and had a great stay.
- adrian (10/5): - I could not Fault The Property or Staff. I and a friend Dined there twice and was very impressed.
- Janette (10/5): - It was great, nice and relaxing. Staff where great .
- Paul (10/5): - Lovely hosts, super quiet rooms and easy access to other food and drink options
- Stephen (10/5): Anniversary retreat - Have stayed here before and will again. Love the Victorian experience and the people are great.
- KAREN (6/5): - Comfortable room, facilities are a little run down, no microwave was an inconvenience. No, Do Not Disturb, sign for the room door eventuated in being awoken with someone entering my room on the first morning of my stay. Pleasant.
- Kelly (8/5): - Old but charming, close to everything with lovely staff. Just needs revamping as the place is very old. Props to the wait staff who made our delicious irish coffees.
- Jamie (8/5): - Would stay again
- Alfia (10/5): - The property is well maintained, clean, comfortable and the cafe's menu had lots of choices, and the service was prompt and the food was excellent.
- Melhem (10/5): - History
- T8832SJruthm (10/5): Old world charm with excellent accommodation & meals. - The Manor has a wonderful old world charm, with excellent service, spotless accommodation. There are spots that need a little TLC, but these do not detract at all from the rnjoyment of the place. It is so good to see them operating when so many family fun businesses are closing down.
The restaurant meals are absolutely delicious - there were 9 of us an no one had a meal that they didn't love.
The staff are so friendly and accommodating. The surroundings are peaceful.
The Manor is 2 minute walk from Gallery Walk.
It was the perfect place for our family to celebrate my husband's 70th.
We all decided that it is somewhere we would be more than happy to return to.
- John (10/5): - Beautiful old world charm in the hotel with beautiful old world service. The rooms are huge and comfortable. There is everything there that you need.
The family are very lovely, friendly and helpful.
Could not have asked for more.
- Leanne (10/5): - Everything
- Cassandra (10/5): - Had a wonderful stay at the manor, thank you!
- Cameron (6/5): - Not what we expected from pictures
Served a purpose , hot shower , clean & a bed to sleep in .
Broken furniture, run down.
- Elaine (10/5): - Lovely place to say nice and quiet
- Jan (8/5): - A wonderful view out to the ocean from the garden and an easy walk to Gallery Walk - what better location to explore Tamborine Mountain!
We thoroughly enjoyed being there on a Monday night when a group of musicians come together for a jamming session in the restaurant - a lovely meal and great music.
This is, however, an ageing property with lots of work to be done - but, although needing an update, our room was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.
- Prerna (8/5): Old school feel in a quaint town - Lovely property, just a 10 mins walk from dining and shopping at Gallery Walk. Beautiful gardens. The manor itself is dated but that is their selling point. The bed was comfortable and room was fitted with a heater and AC. The restaurant and bar are open on limited days but are good.
We stayed one night. The room was not properly cleaned prior to us checking in. The coffee machine still had old coffee in it. The room floor was dirty and there was some mold looking stains all over. We left the hotel sick with cold like symptoms but I can't confirm where the infection came from. The owners are really old, I felt bad complaining so didn't say anything. It could be a good place to stay if the cleaning is done well.
- Kylie (10/5): - the owners of the property are very friendly and will be coming back for sure.
- MICHAEL (8/5): - Large rooms. Old but you have everything you need.
A bit of a “take it or leave it” attitude from the front of house. Bar and restaurant staff were great.
- Sutapa (4/5): - The hospitality could have been way better. Greetings were missing, atmosphere was not very cordial, however it could add so much more value to the place. Wasn’t very welcoming, wouldn’t choose to go back again.
- Deanna (10/5): - It was a very quiet, cosy and comfortable stay with excellent friendly staff
- Kylie (8/5): - I bought this night for my sons girlfriends 30th birthday. They stayed there together and loved it except the tv had no reception and were unable to watch it, i was very disappointed about that. They had to of known
- DAVID (8/5): - Quiet setting , close to village and restaurants.
- Danielle (10/5): - We booked 4 x rooms and all were clean and had everything we required. We all loved the size of each of the bedrooms. We also loved the fact that once we parked the cars we could walk to everything we wanted to do for the week-end.
- shelley (8/5): - .
- Wayne (2/5): - We booked a long weekend away for our our Wedding Anniversary and it stated that they are pet friendly. . . After a two hour drive we then found out that they were not.
They were VERY rude about this situation and we were not allowed to stay. In our notes we mentioned we had a small dog and to inform us if this is a problem. . . they did not inform us then we had another two hour drive home.
We conntacted WOTIF for a refund and they were VERY helpful but again when WOTIF contacted them they were very rude.
On the service alone we will not be going back
- Jason (10/5): - Great location and proud history.
- Aaron (10/5): - Warm and welcoming, large rooms with a comfortable bed. Food was great too and the staff were awesome, will definitely come back!
- Bo Hyun (6/5): - Maybe because of wet weather, the building was musty and damp. Check-in was 3 pm and we arrived at 1:15 pm. No one was there, the telephone number provided for contact didn't work. After 3 pm we could meet a staff working there. It's really close to the mail road and every shopping places. Not sure if I will stay there again with my family, though.
- Karen (6/5): - Overall a little disappointed with the property, I think it has seen better days. Also, the Restauant was closed for the whole Weekend
- Elizabeth (8/5): - The owners & staff were fantastic , rooms were spacious and clean and beautifully decorated. Having a restaurant on site was also a bonus. Would definitely stay there again .
- Rhonda (8/5): - This was a relaxing older style property, which was great for a mountain retreat.
- kevin (10/5): - Wonderful owners and staff
- Barry (10/5): - This is just a general comment for the area, nothing open Sunday night for dinner in quieter times.
Apart from that everything was great 👍 👌
