• Chloe (1/5): Check your bedding... you don't know what's lurking between the sheets. - The location was good...but only because it was close to the wedding venue I was going to. My bedding was completely covered in stains. And when I stay covered I mean absolutely covered. I like to think they tried to wash the bedding first, but my GOD it was absolutely horrific. When a blanket is stained that bad, THROW IT OUT. Do not put it back on a paying customers bed! I paid $500 for the privilege of sleeping in someone elses bodily fluid stains. I don't even want to think about what the stain was from... There were sheets on top and beneath the blanket so I didn't see it until I had slept in it one night... I'm sure I've probably contracted some disease from it.

• Darren (6/5): Good, helpful staff. Perfect location. - Central to everything you need, restaurants, bars, cafes. The staff were really nice, Lilly checked me in and was helpful. Probably needs a bit of updating. The shower seemed like it needs new tiling. The aircon unit in my room was very noisy. Otherwise no issues, would probably stay again if I find myself needing an overnight stay that was good value.

• Emma (6/5): Great location and pleasant staff but the room was a disappointment. - Location The “private balcony” was next to the hotel smoking balcony with only a thin trellis partition. It was flooded from a leaking tap and had no drainage. As a result it was unusable (you’d have been sitting in three cm of stank water). The ceiling in the bathroom and bathroom door frame was rotten / mouldy. The cost of the room was expensive and we expected a much higher standard for the money.

• Sarah (6/5): The accomodation was fine for what we needed. The beds were comfortable. - The beds were comfortable and the location was handy for public transport. Having to check in at the bar wasn’t ideal, and the atmosphere when we arrived didn’t feel particularly comfortable for two women on our own. There was also quite a noticeable cigarette smell throughout the pub. The bathroom door doesn’t open and close properly.

• Navigator44869708022 (2/5): Please do not choose this hotel. - Cockroaches, mold, toilet did not flush, the “eco-friendly” hot water heater took 20 minutes of continuous running water to get warm, air conditioner barely worked, and the sheets were clean but the bed linens had stains. This hotel is frankly disgusting. We did not read reviews beforehand because of our travel circumstances we just needed a place in the area for a couple nights.

Left running for a while as directed by staff and nothing changed. Cold showers for the 3 days there. The doors and walls were dirty. Metal handles were missing off the doors. The bathroom door to a 3 bed room was poorly frosted glass so you can't use the bathroom with the light on unless you want everyone to see everything. There were stains all over the ironing board and chair.

Price did not meet the level of accommodation given. Happy to stay in a pub, and not expect much more than a bed if the price is right, but the price charged should mean the quality of the accommodation is better. Probably wouldn’t stay again, unless price is more appropriate. The pub downstairs was ok, but definitely better watering holes in the area.
• Relax11310379889 (4/5): Could be better - Ok but i wouldnt stay again. Cocroaches in the room running away when i put light on. Also no windows can open , small vent in bathroom, room is dump and no fresh air to breath. You breathing your own CO2. I cannot understand why windows are not able to be opened, are their people jumping down? I ended up staying at friends place despite i paid for the room actually stayed multiple times in 2025, not one time. Also i put sign on the door do not disturb as i didnt want cleaners coming and going through my stuff, but despite the sign they always went in and changed towels etc and did the bed , im very private person and only book for 1-2 days no need for room service plz , so it was very annoying. Theres absolutely no parking anywhere, free or paid, so dont bring your car. Perhaps across the road shopping offers very expensive daily rates parking. Last time i stayed lift wasnt working. Also lift looks 200 years old im really scared to be in. I also suggest they allow pets, as a lot of pub hotels now do. I really did not want people clean my room when i put sign do not disturb. Also all hotel and bar staff speak little english i had trouble even explaining in the pub that i booked the room , i dont even know if they are all in australia illegally if they are students they need certain english level to be here.

Asked for fan, told no fans left as last one loaned out to another room where air con didn’t work. Lost plastic door key, charged $100 to replace it. Thought this amount very excessive considering how cheap they cost to buy.

• Luke (8/5): Great place, great Location. - It was a completely self contained unit in a great location. Walking distance to Moore Park/Stadiums/Hordern Pavilion, etc. There are windows in the ceiling of the upstairs bedroom with no shades/blinds. It is crazy bright as soon as the sun comes up.

• Price (8/5): Fantastic stay - The staff where fantastic it was super affordable great location definitely would stay there again. For a hotel it was great. The drains in the bathroom seemed to be a tad off, the sink was really quite bad and the shower was only bad if you had the shower running at full pressure. The water just seemed to pool in both.

• Noel (9/5): A good visit at the Crown. - It was interesting there but comfortable. Noise from the Vietnamese Restaurant below the below. Both bedroom doors need passage door handles fitted and be able to close correctly. Kitchen area is ok but it is easy to hit your head on the doors above. Could do with a doorbell downstairs.

Lovely complementary touches like water, cereal, juices. Free complementary drink in the bar daily. Lively pub below but we had no issues with noise levels. Room tired in places. Air con not working properly but not needed much.

Great location and access to public transport. Shops and coffee very close and handy, but small breakfast, juice, milk, water, tea and coffee were provided.

The room is simple and good enough for a few days, despite a very small bathroom. The room was a bit underwhelming compared to the pictures. There were red stains on the bed fitted sheet, which is the reason of this mid rating. The basic requirement is to have clean bed sheets when checking in.

• June (5/5): - Small but clean room , comfy bed & good location for local restaurants A lot of cleaning must go on as there are buckets, brooms & mops all around a communal kitchen area. Cold shower!!!!!!!!! The hot water kicked in as I was done , about 10-15 minutes later. Reception is the bar at the downstairs pub/ pokie venue. We wondered if we had the right place. On asking a girl came from behind the bar and took us in an elevator upstairs to a check in office.
