Guest Reviews
- Kevin (7/5): -
- Robina (5/5): Never again - don’t recommend - If it looked like the photos on line we would of loved it instead arrived to a substandard smelly room The smell
Photos were not want we ended up staying in
Mould everywhere do you want me to send you the photos
Dusty especially the fake flowers
- Sebastiaan (8/5): Very relaxing, entertaining time away with old friends. - Big kitchen and deck. Loved the hammocks and how private it was. So many bathrooms. Wish one of the adult bedrooms wasn’t to the kids bedrooms.
- Vynka (10/5): Very lovely stay. Thank you - Everything Nothing
- janet (10/5): - It was peacful and it wasnt to far from gympie
- Damien (8/5): -
- Samantha (7/5): Homestead - They were quick to respond to us when we had a problem. The staff was really good with the children taking them down to the chickens and offered to feed the cow and horse. And the homestead is in an amazing place. We loved our stay here but when we arrived we only found 3 room when advertised for 5. They had locked the other two rooms because they just counted the number of heads that were sleeping in the beds not taking account that we booked this place because we had 5 different family's that didnt want to share rooms. When we messaged the host they responded quickly and unlocked the rooms.
- Lorinda (8/5): - The location and the fire pit The bed was just a little harder than I’m used too
- Coralie (8/5): -
- Dave (10/5): What a gem!! Wish I could have stayed longer - Clean, comfortable and cosy Nothing. It was lovely
- Leigh (10/5): A beautiful, peaceful country escape that we’d happily return to. - We loved the peaceful rural setting and waking up to see horses, cows and bulls in the morning – such a beautiful and unique touch. The cottage was cosy, comfortable and perfect for a relaxing stay. Nothing – everything met our expectations.
- Kym (7/5): Good value for money cottage with everything we needed. - Lovely location. Very peaceful. Good facilities. No response from Host about fire. The wifi log in details were incorrect.
- Christine (9/5): Pleasant Experience to relax and try and spot Koalas. - It's the perfect location to sit by the fire and relax. Check in experience could have been better, a miscommunication , with no response for a few hours.
- KAIT (8/5): Peaceful location. Bed was very comfortable - Wonderful quiet location. Just what was needed.
- Sean (10/5): - Amazing
- Ally (9/5): Get anniversary getaway, comfortable and quiet. - Quiet and comfortable NA
- Thompson (8/5): -
- Michelle (5/5): Disappointed - mixed feelings. - Grounds were nice. Outdoor chairs around firepit, overlook pleasant view. Location aestestically pleasing. Heard Koalas calling late evening.
Awesome shower/water pressure (Note - did not use spa bath, so unable to comment, but it looks awesome).
Kitchenette was great, with a microwave, full size refridge, outdoor BBQ (no oven/cooktop). Complimentary tea/coffee & 1 minature milk carton (if had known prior, could have purchased from 24hr local servo in Traveston).
Cottage athestically pleasing, nice decor and linens.
Loved that it's drive straight up to cottage and key in lock box, enables self access.
No need to disturb/speak to owners, unless you have need or wish to thank them etc.
(Note- saw no staff/owners, so unable to comment further). Booked VILLA 1 for $200, with what looked like had TWO beds. I assumed, I had booked cottage 1, however when we arrived, there was a motorbike outside cottage 1.
I checked email, thinking it'd have all the details I needed. NO. Had 4 digit code, but no cottage number.
So we temporarily parked at cottage 2 (no vehicles at cottages 2 & 3) and went looking for the lock box.
We arrived very late (after 11pm) due to unforeseen circumstances. We were both tired and I'd had an 18 hr full on day of travel (on 28th Oct).
No instructions how to use lock box, was frustrating to obtain key and let selves in. Which is a great feature and I liked that you can let yourself in.
Finally found out how to locate the combination on the lock box, code didn't work. So assumed wrong cottage and tried cottage 3 lockbox, to no avail... frustated!!!!!!
Code didn't work on either lockbox.
Went back to car. Reread all the emails nothing!
Then thought, perhaps the SMS (text messages) had more information at the bottom. As the SMS's looked very similar in context to the emails.
EUREKA! DIFFERENT code number on SMS and it stated our cottage number 2.
Suggest owners place instructions to slide-down small black cover, so people don't stand around in the the trying to lift a flap, to find a key pad to enter a code. And ALSO include to use the code from SMS, rather than the pin code sent on the email. Receiving 2 different, 4 digit pincodes was frustrating!!!! Not being able to find and access the combination lock was frustrating!!!!!
So we were finally inside Cottage 2, which only had ONE bed!
WTF!!! Felt ripped off paying $200. I had other cheaper venue options, whilst booking for 1 bed and would've booked somewhere closer to highway, if I'd known I was paying for 1 bed.
REALLY glad I was not travelling with a male friend, or I would have felt too uncomfortable to sleep in one bed, let alone a small double bed.
Unfortunately for me, I suffer chronic pain.
- Wendy (8/5): Second visit, and we again enjoyed the location, the quietness and convenience to nearby towns. - The quietness. The TV doesn't work well there, probably because of the location. (Difficulty with signal)
- Jessica (9/5): - The cabin was tidy, cosy and had every we needed. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable, and it said our room had a spa, but it was actually disconnected, which was disappointing.
- Andrew (10/5): Wonderful - Great location and wonderful spa It needs a fan and better smart tv
- Deidre (9/5): -
- Sharon (9/5): Lovely place to go and getaway. - The rustic cottages and the surrounding countryside were amazing.
Only three cabins.
Super quiet and peaceful.
The owners were wonderful to deal with.
- Emma (10/5): We ended staying on two different occasions in four weeks - Lovely little place to get away for weekend, private and tranquil Nothing…owner was very accommodating and on hand straight away when there was an issue the hot water
- Sandeep (7/5): - Quiet and secluded location. Great place to get back in touch with nature.
- Annette (5/5): Great potential to be an amazing stay, with some extra attention to detail. - The location was amazing. Beautiful gardens, quiet and peaceful. Easy access to other attractions and places to eat. Needed a spring clean. Dust, cobwebs around property and mould on bathroom walls and lights. The aircon filter was so full of dust, dirt and bugs that when we turned it on it blew hot air. We had to clean them to get it working. The bed was extremely uncomfortable did not sleep well at all. We ended up leaving one night early. It was advertised having a spa bath but the spa didn’t work.
- margaret (8/5): The area is great 😊 - The little cottage was nice and clean
Outside terrace was great To walk around wasn’t easy: no paths to walk to the pound or further around.
I think it’s overall a lack of maintenance: like: the wooden benches are to old to sit down
- Noel (7/5): -
- Jennifer (10/5): -
- Andrew (9/5): -
- Amanda (10/5): Tranquil Cabin to relax and unwind - Beautiful location, amazing little cabin. Fantastic service, even having a fire packed in the fire pit for us. Such a peaceful place to stay.
- Trish (10/5): - Exceptional value for money. Easy directions. Warm & cosy.
- Jenn (8/5): Short stay to visit friends and would recommend to others. - Country location is scenic and peaceful.
Enough distance between cabins for privacy. Hosts were responsive.
Possums in the roof welcomed us - miss them where I live. Access code wasn’t sent before arrival. Internet didn’t connect, the name didn’t match the password option. Discovered at 8:30pm and wasn’t enough of an issue to bother hosts.
- Jess (10/5): Exceptional -
- Millar (10/5): Wonderful property ,very relaxing with outstanding view of the Mary Valley - We were not in B and B No issues identified
- Wendy (8/5): Lovely stay in the country - pleasant surroundings and accommodation - We loved the area and the quietness of the country surroundings. We stayed in two of the three cabins and found everything clean and tidy and convenient. Nothing
- Lorena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Catherine (4/5): Disappointing - The spa bath did not work , the cottage spelt musty and is in need of repair.
- Felecity (9/5): Superb - Lovely spot, very peaceful!
- Janet (10/5): awesome location, peaceful and Beautiful gardens and perfect location for us - Damian went out of his way to help us including our small horse!!
- Joe (9/5): 2nd time visitors. Will be back. -
- Deanne (9/5): Superb -
- Julian (8/5): Very good - Seating area in living room could be more comfy
- Kaeleen (7/5): Very superficial cleaning completed. Walls and window sills need a good clean, especially in bathro - The location was great Could be cleaner.
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Allison (1/5): Bad - Nothing at all it was:
1) DIRTY
2)SMELT LIKE MOLD WHEN WE WALKED INSIDE
3) THE LINEN SMELT LIKE IT HADN'T BEEN WASHED
4)MY 17yr OLD DAUGHTER HAD TO SLEEP ON THE FLOOR AS THE FOLD OUT BED HAD A BAR THAT WAS DIGGING INTO HER BACK.
5)OUR ROOM WAS FOR A DISABLED PERSON
6)THE BATHROOM HAD ALOT TO BE DESIRED FOR. THE TOILET SEAT BADLY NEEDED REPLACING. NO WEAR TO PUT YOUR TOILETRIES
7)DECOR WAS WAY OUTDATED N NEEDED A FACELIFT. WOODEN NLINDS BROKEN
8)LIGHTS DIDN'T WORK OUTSIDE AND YOU COULDN'T SEE WERE YOU WERE GOING IN THE DARK
VERY DISAPPOINTED 😞 EVERYTHING
- Deepinder (10/5): Exceptional - Very quiet place. Neat and clean .very good furniture.kitchen is perfect.mountain walk is awesome.open space for kids to move around. We enjoyed a lot .we were with kids and other family members.Everone is happy. Every corner has furniture for enjoying indoor, outdoor. Mattress could be more comfortable.
- Alison (7/5): Cosy cabin - Comfy bed, good shower. Lovely outdoor firepit (needed more fire wood though) Gardens needed some attention, cabin dated but clean and comfortable, well maintained
- Veronica (7/5): Enjoyed the rest and family time. - The firepit was great and sitting around it with family and children playing around was lovely. No personal touch and cottages have so much potential. No mats and kitchen not fitted out adequately.
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samantha (9/5): Nice and peaceful - Comfortable, had everything we needed even when the power went out after a storm. Great location and nice and quiet
- Skye (10/5): Exceptional - Loved Everything and every moment
Peaceful and very clean and comfortable
- Kimberley (8/5): Very good -
- John (9/5): Relaxing stay great for exploring Mary Valley - Relaxing three day stay great place to explore the Mary Valley. On way up from Montville stopped off at Kenilworth Bakery and Kenilworth Dairy. And at Amamoor enjoyed drinks on the green and arrival of Mary Valley Ratler Steam Engine. Also recommend Eumundi markets, and at Pomona the old cinema and distillery. The cottage itself very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Nice hot shower. Easy to find and access the cottage using key lock. The view from the Frangipani cottage a bit obstructed by bushes. Some might like the privacy but we wanted more of a country view such as from the Homestead below.
The Fire Pit was an attraction. Would have been nice if there had been some firewood and kindling instead of relying on us.
- M (9/5): Superb - Nice and quiet
- Amy (8/5): Very good - Beautiful location. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- Leanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Kristen (10/5): Exceptional - Loved space and serenity The mice lol
- Mark (8/5): Very comfortable cottages, located in the beautiful and tranquil Mary Valley near Gympie - The cottages are located in the beautiful and tranquil Mary Valley, a 20 minute drive from Gympie. The cottage is well equipped with a comfortable bed and great shower. Easy contactless check-in and check-out.
- Russell (9/5): Superb - We did not see the owner at any time and entrance to the motel was by a code to a locked box. This worked well.
Lovely setting in the country and very comfortable unit. Breakfast was available but we did not have it. There was a very good hotel for dinner about a 5-minute drive away.
- Jeanette (9/5): Superb - Loved the quiet, country hillside location. Great well appointed home with a beautiful deck. Very family friendly. Damien was easy to contact, very generous and responsive. One ensuite had small saloon style swinging doors which gave little privacy.
- Joe (10/5): Exceeded all expectations. - Clean and well appointed.
Quiet and close to where we needed to be. Nothing really.
- Brittany-elise (9/5): Superb - Very peaceful country setting with beautiful surrounds. Perfect for what we needed!
- Alexander (8/5): Relaxing Stopover - Great spot for a couple of days of relaxation. Great firepit.
- Jean (9/5): Superb -
- Kerin (8/5): A great little weekend getaway from the city. - They don’t do breakfast anymore so this information needs to be changed on the site. I have talked to the owner about it. I found the bed very uncomfortable but apart from that the cottage was lovely, and well supplied. Simple things such as shampoo/conditioner, radix bliss for the spa, a torch, cling wrap, newspaper and matches for the fire were nice touches and made the stay
more comfortable. We loved the private fire pit and the fact we did not need to bring firewood was a bonus. Thankyou!

- Judith (8/5): A nice little cottage in a peaceful location - Peaceful location
- Beau (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (3/5): It was horrible. Yet the Homestead next door is beautiful! - Breakfast wasn’t part of the deal
We requested a coffee pod machine. The request was kindly accepted however, when we were on our way to the facility, we were advised that they didn’t have a machine and supplied a plunger and coffee. If I’d known on time, I wld have brought mine from home. Very disappointed. Had awful coffee for the duration of our stay (3 nights).
The tea was awful as well.
2 tiny soaps paper thin for the bathroom. No pretty shampoo s or conditioners nothing to take home as a nice memory.
Our friends stayed at the grand old ladies further out and had choice of coffees, teas, etc, etc, etc,. Similar prices and just couldn’t say enough nice things. My fault for not inspecting the place before staying. Lesson learned. The previous people left their rubbish behind.
The place had fresh towels and bed was freshly made however, the place needed a good vacuum clean then a good mop. We mopped the place. Hosed the verandahs.
Cleaned the dirty Airconditioning filters.
Under the bed is very dusty and dog hairs.
Back of the right recliner cockroaches need to be swept out.
There is a spirit of neglect over the place.
- Ellen (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (9/5): great friendly accommodation - did not eat breakfast nothing
- Irene (9/5): very relaxing country stay with everything you need - beautiful gardens to walk around and challenging climb to top of hill, dog friendly , great location and cute little cottage.
deck chairs outside would make it 10/10 😉
- Talia-bree (10/5): tranquil place to relax and unwind. - the animals and outdoor space felt calm and relaxing whilst having a private space also nice to explore the larger property. Nil
- Tom (6/5): Decent but wont be back due to price. - location and veiw was fantastic! Aswell as the hammocks, Property has a nice lay out. The animals and wildlife was an added bonus. dirty bed sheets, Owners walking around and rocking up mid visit un expected, so no real privacy and price was very expensive and booking says entire house but not entirely true as had to pay extra to unlock rooms otherwise would have had to sleep head to toe with work collegue's and no laundry.
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cheryl (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (8/5): Very good -
- Parra (7/5): Don't forget your flip flops for the shower - There you can find a good connection with nature and close to small towns and attractions to visit around. Bathroom toilet and shower need to improve their cleaning, shower has mould on walls and floor, towels smells bad, shower curtains with mould stains, I had to clean the toilet by my self too!
this is something that definitely you don't want to find when paying expensive nights in a cottage.
- Julian (7/5): Good -
- Michelle (8/5): Very good -
- Allan (8/5): Lovely place but those towels - sandpaper. - Nice location clean cabin. Beautiful surrounds. Towels - hard and like sandpaper. Didn't smell the best
- Brad (9/5): Superb -
- Ollie (8/5): Very good - Lovely location
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Shayne (8/5): Very good - The location is perfect, nice and quiet, very relaxing handy to town if you are needing supplies.
- Natalie (8/5): Very good - beautiful quiet location the bed needs replacing as your just sleeping on springs
- Jessica (10/5): I left feeling revitalised - Every morning I woke up hearing the wildlife . The atmosphere was so fresh . The firepit was a great touch .
The spa bath was amazing .
Very comfortable bed and I loved the sliding doors to break away from the Lounge/dining so it was nice and dark
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - perfect nothing
- Christopher (8/5): We enjoyed the quiet and beautiful surroundings. - We made our own breakfasts. Privacy. View. Lack of intrusion. Surroundings Wifi was poor. Everything else was just fine to very good.
- Vincent (10/5): Best home stays in Gympie - Great cottages Nothing
- Ty (10/5): Exceptional -
