The bathroom was clean The rest of the cabin was very tired and we were not offered breakfast. The couch was really dirty to the point that we didnt want to sit on it and we had to scrub the coffee mugs before we used them. The kettle and toaster were not really clean either. The blind above the sink was broken and there were screws sticking out at the top of the chair at the dining table.

The sofa was quite comfortable and the air conditioning worked well, the pool was very much appreciated on the hot days we had. Have the air conditioning on before we arrived was a nice touch too. Close to the golf club and pub, both of which we used a couple of times. Not much to dislike really, we knew what we were booking and the descriptions were accurate. The bathroom hand towel had brown marks on it before we used it but I assumed it was properly laundered and therefore hygienic. A minor issue really.

• William (6/5): Very concerning that such a nice place like barooga could end up being very tiring - It was weird there wasn’t extra bedding for the pull out couch and luckily I brought some spare pillows and blankets. The young people partying out the back of the reception screaming on Saturday morning with loud music til 3:30am and when asked to stop one of the men tried to kiss me and I felt extremely uncomfortable. The same morning an ambulance arrived at my cabin which we didn’t call or didn’t need either which was very concerning and we were left with no explanation. On Sunday morning our front door wouldn’t unlock from the inside. Which made me late to my golf comp. When I tried to call the number off the information booklet it wasn’t connected. I couldn’t stay another night and had to leave Sunday afternoon even though I was tired and exhausted. I hope the staff read this and make the changes needed for the guests sake.

The basketball ring is inside the tennis court fencing and this made it hard to play tennis when people came in to play basketball. You'd think that on so much land, they could find another spot for the basketball ring.

The compressor for the heater was right outside the bedroom and very noisy so we had to turn it off, making the unit very cold overnight. But the worst part was the text message late Saturday afternoon stating there was a PLANNED power outage starting at 8am Sunday morning, meaning we had to get up early so we could have breakfast, shower etc. I feel we should’ve been told this earlier

• Regina (7/5): Our Stay at Cobram Barooga Golf Resort – A Peaceful Setting with Room for Improvement - We recently stayed at Cobram Barooga Golf Resort and appreciated the peaceful country setting and thoughtful after-hours check-in process. We had messaged ahead to notify the resort of our late arrival, and a key was left out for us as arranged, which made checking in seamless. Our two-bedroom cabin overlooked a beautifully manicured green lawn, with views of the pool and playground—ideal for families. After turning on the heater, the rooms warmed quickly and comfortably. We enjoyed hot showers with good water pressure, plenty of clean towels, and clean, comfortable bedding that allowed for a restful night’s sleep. However, there were several areas that let our stay down. The fabric sofa was heavily soiled and in need of a professional clean. Unfortunately, we had to wash all crockery and cutlery before use due to soiled items, cockroach droppings in the cutlery drawer, and a wine glass with a lipstick stain. The kettle was in poor condition, showing signs of blue dye, brown staining, and mineral residue—we opted to boil water on the stove instead. We also found a broken wine glass and a chipped coffee cup in the cupboard. More concerning was a blood smear found on the wall beside the children’s bunk bed, which was quite distressing. Additionally, the cabin requires general maintenance: a section of skirting board was missing with nails exposed, the floor showed damage from golf shoes, and there was a hole in the main bedroom door. In summary, while the resort offers a lovely location and some thoughtful amenities, cleanliness and maintenance need urgent attention to ensure a more comfortable and safe experience for guests.
