• Troy (10/5): Overall, a wonderful stay - Location to beach. Layout of the apartment. Felt like home. It wasn’t too bad, as i went in April when nights weren’t that humid, but the cooling in the bedrooms isn’t quite up to par. If there’s no aircon in the rooms, you need either a ceiling fan directly above the bed or a pedestal fan for each room. The ceiling fan in the master bedroom did not spin fast enough to feel a breeze, and was located above the foot of the bed so it was essentially useless. One pedestal fan was provided, but it’s a 2 bedroom unit, so….

Overall, the condominium was very spacious with two bedrooms and a balcony. It also had great facilities like a pool and a sauna. The beach was within walking distance, so the location was fantastic. The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived, which made our stay very comfortable. On the other hand, the area is very quiet, so even going to buy groceries felt a bit far to walk. I wanted to use Uber, but it didn’t work very well in the Coolangatta area of the Gold Coast. It was usually fine in the morning, but in the evening it was often unavailable, which was quite inconvenient. I realized that having a rental car would probably be necessary

• Frank (9/5): Great sea views and breezes from this comfortable apartment. - Great position, one street back from the esplanade and with quite expansive views over the water from two large gaps in the front buildings. Great ocean breezes, lovely to watch the surfers at the beach from our large balcony. As we arrived on a Sunday we didn't meet the staff - entry was via a coded lockbox which worked perfectly. We had a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom Ocean View apartment, which we were very happy with. Our USA guest had 2 x singles in her room, while we had a queen sized bed. Both bathrooms were not terribly fashionable but very workable. Kitchen had most things we needed except for a coffee machine, but had all basic supplies such as instant coffee/tea/toilet paper/UHT milk etc. Parking under the building was from the rear street (one way downhill). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Walking distance from all the beaches and restaurants. The sauna, spa, and pool were an added blessing. In need of renovation. Lighting and fans didn’t work great or were noisy. No aircon in the bedroom. Patio door kept coming out of the track. The patio lounger was ripped. Bathroom was clean but old and the shower was quite small.

Part ocean views from the balcony was great and the free car parking was a real bonus. Only one air con unit for whole apartment, could have done with another air con unit in twin room.

Management was very helpful with requests that were made. Bus services easily available to large shopping centres, airport and train stations. Heated pool. A large apartment with a lovely verandah. For seniors with some mobility issues the hilly location, steps down into the pool. Unable to use the stove as no instructions. Rails in the shower could be added.

• Colin Buckley (6/5): Roomy older style of apartment but too noisy with a 12 month build. - 1/ staff were efficient and helpful 2/ good views from balcony 3/ large rooms with good facilities 4/ good pool and spa 5/ good offstreet parking 1/ Construction next door from 7.00am-5.30-6.00pm each day except for Sunday. Noisy and difficult to sleep. Could not sit outside during the day and read or even eat as constant construction noise surrounded you. 2/ down the road, similar builds going on. Many trucks entering and street blocked off at numerous times.

Great views up the road at Point Danger to engage in whale watching. Friendly staff. Nice warm spa! Great coffee up the street at Black Dingo Cafe. Full kitchen was handy as was the laundry. Construction next door was pretty noisy, but it was manageable as we were out most of the day doing things. A coffee plunger in the kitchen or a coffee maker would be a nice bonus.

The new managers (Brendan and Kylie) had only started the day after we arrived. However, they honestly couldn't do enough for us during our stay to make our accommodation experience comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you both for all the little things you did, i.e., making a top for the spa pool (your day two) to see if it would make it warmer for our 7.00am spas. The kitchen was sparse with items and initial supplies to get you on your way, i.e., no pepper and salt, no oven glove. The unit could also have been cleaner, but to be fair, the new managers had only just started after we arrived.

• Werner (1/5): see above - The location and the very friendly staff. It is an extremely dated apartment that deserves a complete renovation. It appears that the owner does not seem to be too interested in investing in this property, which, unfortunately, is often the case. However, perhaps that's already planned, which I'm not aware of. I also recommend closing the door to the sauna, as I received a visit from a friendly, large rat while sitting on the bench. The rat was also excited, as the sauna seemed to be rarely used and was very dated and unpleasant, too. When I clapped my hands, it ran away. Apart from that, it is unacceptable and considered misleading and a misrepresentation under the New Zealand Fair Trading Act 1986 that Booking.com does not mention on its website the massive and extremely noisy demolition right next door, which starts at 7:00 am and lasts until 4:00 pm. Although Booking.com relies on the information provided by the accommodation owner/host, they are liable for their advertising, even if the responsibility to provide accurate information lies with the owner/host, as likely to be found in their Terms and Conditions (T&Cs). Due to these unacceptable circumstances, I have claimed 50% of my booking fees back in good faith, trusting that Booking.com will resolve the issue with the owner/host. I consider this a fair offer to resolve the issue without taking further legal action, but it depends on their timely response.

• Natalie (5/5): location great but not sure how things got so messed up - location was great upon arrival we only had one room booked or though they thought so second room was not what we wanted was hastily made up with little thought no towels and not cleaned properly even found someone’s passport in the first 10 min of being in the room called all day to confirm booking just to have no one answer phone 2 adults slept on a bunk bed not happpy

• Penny (9/5): We needed a few days to relax after a stressful couple of weeks and it was perfect for our needs! - Good location for our favourite Rainbow Bay. Well stocked kitchen and so handy having a washer and drier for a traveller! Lovely shady balcony when hot. Pool was a perfect temperature. One of the chairs on balcony was very wobbly. A sun bed would have been nice.
• Demelza (10/5): Comfy spacious apartment in great family friendly location - Wonderful family friendly apartment with a great view in a great location and an awesome big balcony. Quiet, nice pool and easy walk to the beach. Staff were so welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be back again soon! This might become our regular holiday apartment from now on! The hardest thing was trying to get an uber to the airport in the morning! Recommend booking in advance as it’s just so close to the airport no Ubers would take us!
