- Leanne (5/5): Disappointing, costly and unacceptable response to a situation that was inappropriately managed. - Great location, we have stayed several times before.Disappointed with cost of the booking, and service from Booking.com and Hotel. We had to postpone our intitial booking due to ill health and had a supporting letter from doctor. We were charged a cancellation fee, and hotel didn’t honour the original price for the stay. The increased cost and fee were significant. There was an evacuation announcement at 10.00 pm 11/5 the message was to evacuate immediately. As we were in bed, we dressed and had to collect necessary medical supplies for my husband. He’s a type 1 diabetic,had to ensure we had his medication and food. We made our way downstairs, no access outside and no staff to assist us. We returned to our room and I called Reception, was informed it was a false alarm and that all guests were sent a text message. This is inexcusable and unacceptable response to the situation. My phone was on silent, we were in bed when the announcement was made, checking my phone was not a priority. I spoke to the manager today 12/5 as we were checking out, I left the hotel dissatisfied with her response. She said if it was a significant concern the alarm would have been consistent, this I understand however when told to evacuate that’s what we attempted to do. The Hotel needs to review safety procedures and consider the safety and wellbeing of guests. I understand we were not in danger however the experience had a significant impact on our ability to sleep. The manager on duty last night 11/5 should have made an announcement immediately informing guests it was a false alarm, sending a text message was inappropriate in the first instance. It should have been sent after an announcement. Unfortunately the cost blow out, incident and response from staff have had a significant impact on us, another visit is something we would think twice about. The hotel is clean, great location and we’ve had some great times there. See above!

- Michelle (10/5): A truly relaxing short stay in beautiful Hotel Sorrento. - I used Booking.com for my first stay at this hotel & was pleasantly surprised to have both rooms unexpectedly upgraded on arrival. My friend & I were delighted to enjoy staying in the Heritage rooms with a view of the harbour. One of our rooms also had a lovely outdoor balcony which we enjoyed star gazing from after dinner. Everything about our stay was wonderful.

- Florence (7/5): Attention aux plusieurs très mauvaises surprises malgré une chambre agréable de l'intérieur - La chambre à l'intérieur est spacieuse, très propre, meublée avec goût, bien chauffée et agréable. PS: Nous n'avons jamais trouvé l'interrupteur de l'éclairage principal de la salle de bains. L'accès à la chambre se fait directement par un petit parking privé du studio avec à peine assez d'espace pour y mettre la voiture. C'est à dire que la porte de la chambre est au même niveau que le parking, sous un escalier (voir photo). En plus, l'accès au studio se trouve dans une petite ruelle à l'arrière des cuisines de l'hotel. A 8:30 am un dimanche, un énorme camion poubelle ramassait les ordures devant notre fenêtre avec le bruit qui s'ensuit. Par ailleurs j'avais réservé une chambre avec balcon et vue. La fameuse vue depuis le balcon donnait sur un échafaudage et un chantier (voir photo). Personne ne nous a prévenus, pas de rabais non plus. La cerise sur le gâteau, le check out était à 10:30 et lorsque nous sommes revenus du petit déjeuner a 10:34 la clé était déjà bloquée. Quelle agressivité ! La réceptionniste nous a expliqué que cette situation de la clé se devait à des problèmes informatiques de l'hotel... (qu'a à voir le client avec ça?) et que le chantier devant notre fenêtre n'était pas de leur faute car le chantier ne faisait pas partie de l'hotel... No comment ! Elle m'a assuré que l'hôtel prendrait contact avec moi pour voir comment compenser ces différents inconvénients.

We paid substantially for an “upgrade with a sea view” ($946 for two nights). The view was actually of a car park and roundabout. The sea view was to glimpsed at the side when leading over the balcony. We felt ripped off.
- Amara (8/5): - We had a beautiful time - only draw back was not being clear it was adults only. I had my 7 year old son, and the listing wasn’t explicit this was considered an adults only hotel. Hotel were fine about it when we arrived, we just couldn’t use the pool facilities. Would err the team to list *adults only* in the header to be more explicit. We stay in many boutique hotels and this is usually what the non-family friendly places do to avoid the risk of booking.

Lobby bar for guests is wonderful, pickleball court on the roof great fun. I would not book suites that are not located in the main building due to construction noise.

- Luke (9/5): Great weekend getaway and good location. - Staff really nice and helpful, rooms were really nice and the breakfast foods were really good. The pool is a great addition but not heated. Paid a fair bit of money and would love to use it with comfort. Was a cold swim but nice length and depth.

- Sheena (10/5): Wonderfully renovated property with exceptional service - Beautiful property and a wonderful stay for my husband and I. We will most definitely be coming back in summer to enjoy the pool and weather. We are in our forties and didn’t bring the kids (it’s a child free establishment) and found the general patronage was 55+. You could easily spend a few days here relaxing with the spa, restaurant and bar onsite, short walk to Main Street precinct. We received free upgraded room in the renovated part of the hotel and the view onto the bay was stunning. Nothing to comment

From the time we arrived it was so welcoming once we booked in we were shown around the hotel and escorted to our room which was such a nice touch. This hotel is quality and would highly recommend. Nothing absolutely loved it.

The hotel offered various areas for dining and drinks including a rooftop bar and the newly renovated pool area was amazing. - Holland (9/5): really loved the visit. - The room and location are excellent. The breakfast was confusing for my 99-year-old mother, who looks forward to a hearty breakfast. The waitress stated one drink and one dish. Mum usually has a hot breakfast and fruit salad, etc. She is not a big eater, but she felt really put off. Perhaps say free breakfast for meals under $15, or $15 off breakfast. We are used to staying at the Crown Sydney, and your services were equal except for breakfast. We plan to come again and will specifically enquire what we need to pay extra for a solid breakfast. There should be another policy adjustment to best manage the breakfast hotel budget.

- Julie-Anne (10/5): The location, facilities, service, and particularly the staff, who were all friendly, attentive, and professional. - The location, facilities, service, and especially the staff, including Anna the Team Leader who helped us after a booking mix-up, were excellent. Anna was incredibly kind, considerate, and professional. She quickly identified and fixed the mistake, allowing us to start our five-night stay without any issues and enjoy our time at Hotel Sorrento. We have no complaints, we liked everything about the property.

- Elizabeth (10/5): Restful retreat - It's a lovely hotel, the decor is sleek with a very restful feel. Our bed was super comfy and we had a nice outlook over the pool and trees opposite. We had dinner in the restaurant which was top notch, breakfast too. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, across all the areas of the hotel, reception, bars, restaurant. All in all a lovely stay.
