Guest Reviews
- Hali (7/5): Will be amazing once renovations are complete. - Stunning location, beautiful cabin It was a construction site with heavy machinery from 7.30 to 4.30pm with no compensation . Small print advised that spa and sauna facilities not available
- Natalie (10/5): Peaceful secluded getaway in the rainforest, near twin falls walk - Gorgeous peaceful secluded location.
Log fire inside heated cabin quickly
Babbling creek directly outside our cabin
Walk to twin falls nearby exceptional Nothing
- Taylor (8/5): - Third time I’ve been to The Mouses House! There’s many reasons why I keep coming back - the quaint timber cabins amongst the forest landscape, the fireplace, and those big bath tubs - oh, the serenity, the coziness!. Particularly delightful experience indoors during all this rain at the moment, in lieu of our camping trip that was washed out. This visit came with some disappointment whilst staying at “Bashful” - the smell of a product used to clean the sheets/towels etc was unpleasant. I also think a beer or some other alcohol was spilled in recent-past and has now gone stale on the spa-side of the bed - It smelled heavily of this which was overwhelming in odour and very uncomfortable for us to rest & sleep in for our stay.
- Sean (8/5): Very relaxing and peaceful, loved the wild life that came throughout the evening. The gentleman at reception was more th - Location and little touches
- Mark (10/5): -
- Sam (10/5): Magical Rainforest Retreat - Wonderful accommodation in a beautiful pristine environment. Great service and knowledgeable staff. Breakfast was in the fridge waiting for us when we arrived. Great communication for arrival/check-in and we were able to go straight to our cabin that was waiting for us beautifully presented. This is a wonderful retreat and we will certainly be back. Minor construction noise. Make sure any catering you want is ordered early or before you arrive as the office was closed prior to the time listed as their service hours on the day we arrived.
- Tiara (9/5): Beautiful place to get away - The location was beautiful.
- The staff were super lovely and even put balloons and a little banner in the room for us after I asked if they could do something special for my partner’s birthday.
- There were these really cute books in the drawers where you could write about your time in the Mouse’s Houses. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a pen so we couldn’t add our own entry, but it was so beautiful reading about other people’s experiences, it’s such a cute tradition!
- This place was highly recommended by my co-workers, and I will definitely be recommending it to others as well.
Thank you for an amazing experience and a chance to be back in nature ! 🌳

- Cassandra (8/5): Beautiful cabins on a natural stream in the mountains, but still close to the Gold Coast - A beautiful peaceful retreat. The sound of the running stream & birds was lovely. And the Dinner & Breakfast hamper meals we purchased to cook were great value for money. The spa looking out over the forest was private & we enjoyed the fireplace with firewood included. We were in the "Sleepy" cabin & loved how the cabin was decorated & all the little touches to make your stay very comfortable & relaxing. Staff were very responsive to any questions prior to our arrival & very helpful upon arrival. Keep an eye out for the wildlife, I went inside & came out to find a (friendly) possum & baby stealing our salad. ;o) The top loft bedroom was quite hot with no air conditioning or fan & the bed was quite hard. Although the bed downstairs was alot more comfortable. It has a straight up ladder climb up to the 2nd bedroom, so not suitable if you're not nimble or of a larger frame.

- Nicolene (8/5): -
- manpreet Kaur (10/5): Affordable - Location Nothing to write
- Shamsher (10/5): -
- Nick (7/5): Nice and cosy - Everything was good other than the lasder to access my bedroom
- Lisa (7/5): So peaceful - Tranquil. Great location! Felt damp but we were in the rainforest after all!
- Patrick (10/5): - Beautiful cabin with fire and spa set inside the rainforest. Absolutely perfect location near the start of the twin Falls bush walk. Highly recommend. Nothing
- Signe Ulrik (9/5): - Amazing cabins in the middle of the rain forest Only thing is, that it is located in one end of springbrook, meaning the drive to some of the places are a bit far.
- Sumanya (10/5): -
- Jennifer (10/5): 100 out of 10, we will be back - Breakfast great, everything fabulous, we will be back Could have some warning tape on edge of different level floors downstairs.
- Nathan (10/5): Secluded cabin all to yourself, we'll be back for sure. -
- Cigdem (6/5): Beautiful location, however Chalet was outdated. - Beautiful location - love the concept of the retreat however it is extremely dated. The refurbished bathroom was clean to standard and good lighting. The views were beautiful even though we were facing the road and a little was a little noisy when cars would drive passed. Loved the BBQ! The kitchen was adequate. The lounge couch was so uncomfortable that it triggered back aches. The bedding was stiff and uncomfortable. The linen had a little black stain that appeared to look like mascara before I even used the bed on one of the white pillow cases. It would have been nice for the accommodation to ensure that there was a pleasant smell in the room by ensuring some type of ongoing electronic room spray. There was cobwebs all over the ceiling wood, a dead fly on my bedroom side table. The room had a really bad smell, airless almost even though the room had most windows opened. For what you are paying for, its below standard. I was disappointed. The dining table was so heavy, I could barely move the chairs when sitting! The upstairs loft carpet was lifted and I hurt my foot on the metal staples under it. The idea of the retreat is wonderful - just time to upgrade furniture, appliances and cook wear if the retreat charge at the prices they are. The Panasonic main tv needs upgrading as the remote wouldn't really register the commands etc. The main room lighting was pretty crappy, even though there was 4 lamps, proper lighting from the roof would have been better as it was always dark even with all lamps on.

- Phil (9/5): We felt like we went away on holidays but it was just one night. - The property was great it catered for everything we needed.
The food supplied for our Dinner and breakfast was plentiful delicious and good quality. Too many light switches . Trouble selecting the correct one.
- Catherine (7/5): Very cosy, private, tranquil and relaxing, loved the spa and rainforest. - We didn't have the breakfast. The wooden pathway requires some attention. Some area's could do with new boards and support. Other than that, it was great.
- Angela (10/5): -
- Nicholas (9/5): Superbly tranquil, private and comfortable. Magnificent. - Magnificent and ethereal. Private and comforting. A magical get away. Nothing.
- Aaron (9/5): -
- Matej (10/5): -
- Kim (10/5): -
- Huijuan (10/5): Very worthwhile!! We will be back soon - We love everything here: fireplace, bbq, closest to nature—forest and bird chirping, spa, and soft & ambient lighting.
- Interloper (7/5): - The overall location is amazing. Super close to the Twin Falls walking trail. The bed was amazing to sleep on, and I loved the pot-belly fire - perfect for a cool night. The outside spa bath in my chalet was clearly not cleaned effectively. It smelled putrid when the jets were turned on. When I told the manager, there was no apology. All he said was that when water sits in it a while, it can smell. My expectation as a guest is that things like that will be addressed prior to a guest's stay.
The only internal table was in the kitchen, which was set off to the side and had no view. No forest ambience when eating a meal or spending time at a table.
It was made clear that there was construction happening on a new sauna/hot tub space, but not that the original sauna/hot tub had gone (they're still clearly listed in the guest information). I was disappointed by that lack of facilities. That lack should have been made clear pre-booking, and should have reflected in a lower price.
For what you get, it's a very expensive stay.
This is on me - I should have called prior to booking to find out if the available chalets were actually down in the rainforest,. I was looking for quiet and private relaxation, deep in the dim greenery of the rainforest. Instead, I got a treetop chalet, open to the sky. It was beautiful, but not what I was looking for.
- Jessica (5/5): Disappointed, we were very excited to stay but felt left down - Location was lovely Was incredibly cold, not enough blankets and the loft bedroom was almost inaccessible. There was construction work happening that we weren’t informed about prior which wasn’t ideal with the noise.
- Ben (10/5): -
- Julie (10/5): This was the most relaxing holiday my husband and I have ever had. We are now very energised. - breakfast tray was excellent which was arranged by Wayne.
Thankyou Loved the rainforrest atmoshpere. The chalet was lovely, cosey and intimitae. Loved it. Loved our stay.
- Amelia (10/5): Superb spot. - Love the location, wildlife and nature. Cosy, cute and so relaxing.
- Kim (10/5): Return visitors - Peacefully sound of waterfall and nature and the spa Nothing
- Natalie (1/5): - Smelt musty the bed and sheets , air con dirty so were the utensils and soap
- vicki (9/5): - Very peaceful 🙏
- Jasmine (10/5): -
- Mark (10/5): -
- Sharon (9/5): Peaceful couple of days . Enjoyed it very much . - Beautiful cabin, modern and clean . Our only complain was the sofa in the lounge room. It badly needs repacking . When you sat on it you slid heavily to one side and I needed to prop the cushions up with several pillows to sit comfortably.
- jiwat (10/5): “Our stay was peaceful, relaxing, and truly memorable.” - We really loved the property. The location was peaceful and surrounded by beautiful rainforest. The cabin was very clean, private, and perfect for relaxing. The spa, ambience, and overall comfort made our stay very special. It was a wonderful experience.” “There was nothing we didn’t like — everything was great. We really enjoyed our stay.”
- Matthew (10/5): Very relaxing stay, felt well immersed in the rainforest all while residing in a cozy cabin with nice amenities! - Beautiful location right in the rainforest! Amenities such as tennis court and bike rentals enhanced the stay.
- Craig (10/5): Short getaway from the city. Enjoyed every second - Beautiful location in the rainforest Nothing it was perfect. Just wish we’d stayed longer
- Maddison (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Jason (10/5): Enjoyed the peace and quiet and nestled in cradle of nature. - Quiet, peaceful, secluded. A lovely place to get away from the hussle and bustle of city life. Recharge Couldn’t find one reason
- Huijuan (10/5): - This has been one of the most treasured memories of my life.
Today, I turned 36.
And I celebrated my birthday in a dreamy little wooden chalet, nestled deep in the misty rainforest surrounded by forest critters, birdsong, and my lifelong friend: the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which still lives inside me.
I even brought my Lotso bears with me. They are my emotional support crew who go everywhere I go. Lotso, Snow White, Grumpy and even the Wicked Witch… they’re all part of the big Disney storybook family. And now, so is this place.
As a grown-up, I’ve seen many complicated things: Deadlines, pressure, work stress, exams, awkward conversations, unspoken expectations. Life gets messy.
But even now I still believe in fairy tales.
And this year, for the first time in a long time I felt like I was in one.
Thank you, Grumpy’s Chalet.
I’ll be back soon.
- Ranu (10/5): It was a relaxing and blissful experience, and we appreciate the comfortable amenities and peaceful setting. - Peaceful, clean. Everything was beautiful.
- Joanne (9/5): Tranquil and calm just perfect for a few days. - Tranquil TV in bedroom kept bumping head.
- THELMA (7/5): Was good in its time - The rain forest has had severe storm damage and is in recovery mode The fetch tv system is so outdated and slow
The buildings are in need of maintenance and repairs
- Drago Susanj (9/5): - beautiful setting and better than expected accommodation.

- Maeva (10/5): Beautiful and relaxing stay in the forest - The property is actually better than on the pictures. It was super cute and spacious. The furnitures are all very good quality and beautiful. You can hear the birds at all times. We loved everything! Would stay again!
- Jekki (10/5): Exceptional -
- O'rourke (8/5): Cute cabin on a creek - Surrounded by rainforest with a cosy fire next to a crystal stream. No coffee available was a machine only. It is difficult to get supplies in the area no shops nearby were open.
- Nicole (7/5): Immersed in the rain forest! - Location was amazing, walking on the platforms to the chalet and hearing the running river. WiFi was available. Decor and design felt a bit mismatched with the surroundings. Very blunt knifes in the kitchen. Sadly, the hot tub and sauna were not available as a section of the property was under renovation.
- Mitchell (10/5): Peaceful, get away 11/10 - This place was person every way. Have recommended to a lot of people and definitely will be back Nothing everything was amaizng!!
- Penna (9/5): Wonderful hideaway in nature - It was cosy and in an amazing location. Fireplace was great and running water outside was lovely. Could sleep in and have no idea what time of morning it is. The spa bath was awesome as was the loft . Super close proximity to amazing walks. Cute animal visitors Work being done to make improvements meant some facilities weren’t available. Tv was old and reception bad but who cares because that’s not what you’re there for

Well set up. Just wish we had booked more nights here. a perfect getaway. Would highly recommend. That we didn't book a couple of more nights. We loved it
- Marvin (10/5): Beautiful, peaceful stay. Will definitely be back. - Excellent spot, right by the creek. We stayed at the "Snow White" and it was beautiful. The bathroom with spa was super modern and felt very luxurious. The kitchen had everything you needed and the fireplace was nice and toasty on the cold night. I would definitely come back and stay for a longer duration.
So peaceful and quiet. Absolutely love it. A little dusty on the ceiling/walls, but as the ceilings are so high, I understand it would be difficult to get up there without a ladder!

Included everything we needed plus more!
Perfect place to unwind

- Chloe (7/5): Would be 10/10 if the cabins were deep cleaned and decluttered. 7/10 stay. - Beautiful setting, private cabins. Nestled in lush rainforest with runny little creek. Dusty, cobwebs. Dirty outdoor furniture. Marks/stain on on bed's douvet. Unnecessary and dusty plastic plants and decor.
- Robert (10/5): Perfect - So relaxing and had everything we needed. That we didn’t stay longer.
- Anish (10/5): Had memoriable time during the stay - Its near to nature NA
