Guest Reviews
- Jennifer (10/5): Amazing location - The studio was located over the water in a small quiet private marina on the banks of the lake. The view was amazing, over to the Hindmarsh bridge, past the boats moored in the marina. Very relaxing and well supplied with self-catering items.
- Wendy (10/5): Beautiful place to stay - Amazing location right over the water
- Dianne (10/5): We had 3 studios and we had a bottle of wine in the fridge which was a nice touch. The other 2 studios didn’t get any wi - Good location for the rail trail Goolwa to Rosetta Head All good
- Bec (8/5): A great location with a comfortable bed and clean facilities. - The beautiful view and closeness to the river and the walking track. We had issues at the beginning accessing entry. I think it was due to wi fi and we didn’t receive the instructions.
- Peter (8/5): Overall a great stay but recommend work is done to sort out the shower. - Location and general comfort of the accommodation Shower was a problem in the unit we occupied. Difficult to control water temperature and flooding of the bathroom floor.
- EMILIA (9/5): Room with a beautiful view - Being on the water , with beautiful views of the water
- null (10/5): -

Beautiful clean room with lots of extras to ensure our stay was comfortable. Friendly hosts. Will definitely be back.
- Andrew (8/5): - Waterfront location, close to cafe, walking path & main street. What's not to like?
- Lena (10/5): Stunning location over the water, beautiful accommodation. - Beautiful location, comfortable and had everything you need. We sat for hours looking out over the water and even on an extremely hot day the unit was really comfortable. I think the natural air conditioning of the water helped.

- Lenore (9/5): Tranquil & peaceful - being on a houseboat without effort of a houseboat - Fabulous location on the water. Smooth check in (very easy - no fuss).
Absolutely loved the views and watching the wildlife on the water.
Stayed in studio 2 and had a great view of the marina. People staying on the boats were friendly and welcoming.
Studio provided everything we needed to be comfortable during our stay: warm blankets, well stocked kitchen with utensils (pans, cutlery, cooking appliances, induction cooker plate). Bbq on the deck. We cooked simple meals during our stay.
Location is close by to a local cafe (well worth visiting for a great coffee and breakfast- less than 10 minute walk away).
Marina is close to town!
Would absolutely stay again and recommend to our family and friends!! The bed was firm for our liking but that’s our personal preference. Everything else was superb!
- Jeff (10/5): Loved it - Unique accommodation on the water Possibly a coffee pod machine , not a biggy though
- Marlene and Terry (9/5): A tranquil getaway in a comfortable studio right on the water - The studio was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Loved being right on the water watching the boats and wildlife
- Catherine (9/5): A haven on the river. - The studio was bright, comfortable and well appointed. With a scenic view of the river! The welcoming bottle of bubbly was a nice touch. It was a great base for exploring the town and attending the Jazz Festival. No dislikes to report.

We were staying here as we were seeing a band at the Murray Delta Juke Joint which was 5 min drive away.
- Christopher (10/5): - Great river views from the docks
- Loz (9/5): Superb -
- John (9/5): Superb - We had a really great stay and would stay again
- David (10/5): A wonderful place for a getaway. - Location, comfort, outlook, facilities, quiet
- Zhi (8/5): River Murray waterfront stay in central Goolwa, you'd have to stay on a boat to get better! - A river marina style accomodation, right at the waters of River Murray, with great views of the Hindmarsh Island and Bridge. Fairly central Goolwa town centre location yet felt private enough for a relaxing night or two. Unit is well-equipped with basic amenities you'd ever need for a short stay - microwave oven, small stovetop, warm water shower, comfy bed. Room can be a tad gloomy dark but it's personal choice. Carpark available and at doorstep literally. Like one of the comments seen - it's probably as good as you can get for a riverside waterfront experience barring staying on a boat itself. Room lighting could be better, bathroom ventilation too. But these are very minor compared to the positive points.
- Mingon (10/5): Quiet little accommodation by the water. Just perfect for our little getaway - Clean, quiet, had what we needed. Nothing it was all good
- Matter (9/5): I loved the view of the river through the beautiful big glass windows - The location and the view. The base of the shower felt weird in that it felt like I was going to fall through it or it was going to crack. Not sure if this was a normal structural thing?
- Glazebrook (8/5): Very good -
- Dennis (10/5): - Love how it was close to the water. Had everything we needed. Great location. Did not charge extra for our petIt was our 4th stay...enjoyed it everytime
- Maria (10/5): A relaxing time away with amazing surroundings. - It’s in a great location, easy to find. Very peaceful right over the water. Excellent facilities, well laid out and clean. Loved it all
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Nicole (10/5): We loved our stay and we will be back - The location was fantastic. We stayed in Studio 2 right on the water, looking towards the bridge to Hindmarsh Island.
It was walking distance to the wharf and main street of Goolwa with a wonderful walking/bike path that went straight there.
They had bikes and kayaks, which we were allowed to use, and Rebecca and Peter were very friendly and helpful.
- Browning (6/5): Pleasant -
- Yvonne (10/5): Like being on a houseboat, without the effort of having to do the rope work! - Felt like being on a houseboat, without having to do the ropes.
Loved being on the water & watching the boats. Nothing
- Veronica (9/5): Superb -
- Nadinne (9/5): Superb -
- Heather (9/5): Superb - I loved the river view from my living area and the fact that it's right next to the walk/ride shared path along the river. It was also just a short walk from a lovely cafe and friends who were in Goolwa at the same time. Ideal.
I was also very appreciative of how lovely, friendly and helpful the owner was when I called her with a query before my trip. Much appreciated.
- Sarah (10/5): - Was a lovely spot to stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. Great communication from hosts before arrival. Would definitely recommend Boathaven Studios.
- Tania (10/5): I surprised my husband for his birthday and we were both very much gratful for the experience. A hidden gem! We will def - Peaceful, quiet location on the water. Perfect spot to relax.
- Suzanne (6/5): - The property sit on the river and is close to the town
- Benson (8/5): Lovely quite great views - Clean comfortable lovely decor Shower curtain
- Ioana (10/5): Peaceful location - We had a very nice stay here. The studio we stayed in was facing the water and it was nice to spend some time on the verandah watching boats go by. The room was clean, had everything we needed and the area was quiet so we managed to relax and sleep well.
- Cathy (9/5): Will probably not stay anywhere else in Goolwa - Location the best in Goolwa, looking out over the river, literally. beautiful views. Bed was very comfortable. TV very high up and a bit uncomfortable to watch.
- Edwards (10/5): perfect - close to the water. secure parking. beautifully presented cabin nil
- Fiona (10/5): - Very relaxing and quiet.. most things were generously thought of, which made our stay perfect. If there was one improvement I could suggest, it would be to fix the noisy air conditioner as it kept waking us
.
Overall I would definitely recommend it ⚓️🛶
- LUCY (10/5): - We really liked the quiet tranquil setting away from the main township yet not too far away from everything we wanted to experience.
- Jo (8/5): - Unique accommodation spot
Lovely views of the water, bridge and wildlife.
Very quiet, secluded feeling but still so close to everything! Lovely hosts, too!

- Verified traveler (10/5): Boat haven. - No complaints. Would happily recommend.
- Cindy (10/5): - This was a great little place to stay, right on the water, plenty of parking space. Well suited for couples, but my daughter and I stayed in the family cabin which has a double bed and double sofa bed. Really nice little place, can wander onto the wharf and sit on the bench at the end to watch sunset. Host was very helpful and friendly.
- Debra (10/5): Loved the accommodation, and will be returning 😀 - Location on the river is outstanding, breakfast not included, but tea and coffee available Maybe Nespresso coffee machine
- Sandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gary (8/5): - Great spot, felt like we were on a boat part of the marina.
Will go back for sure.
- Woods (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely everything was perfect. What a fabulous experience. Would highly recommend this property. Check in was so easy, the studio was superbly decorated, spacious and extremely clean.

- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ellie (8/5): Perfect peaceful pad - Lovely mini getaway here. Quiet, super comfy with everything needed for a quick break. The host was lovely and welcoming too. Perfectly located with a quick drive to the centre of Goolwa/wharf. Loved all the bird life around too, the swamp hen that said hello and the wrens flitting about. Loved our stay here. Not a thing.
- Gabrielle (10/5): - Lovely little peaceful spot, with amazing views!
Had everything we needed for our stay!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Haven by name, haven by nature. - We loved our couple of nights and will definitely look to return. Staying in the studio was like staying on a boat but without the rocking. Very private and relaxing with very friendly and helpful hosts.
- Monique (9/5): Peaceful spot right on the river - Perfect little studio for our little family of three. Tidy and cute! Host met us and said hello, was very welcoming. We loved waking up and walking down the jetty. Very peaceful spot. Only feedback would be I think the bed base or mattress on the main bed could be upgraded. But overall we really loved our stay here, so much nicer than being in a hotel room somewhere. Very peaceful and pretty. Host even offered for us to use their kayaks but we ran out of time, if we had stayed longer than 2 night's we'd have used them for sure. :) Mattress felt a bit lumpy or springy or something on the bed. The fold up lounge bed for our son was great though.
- Rod (9/5): A quiet way to relax - Location Shower needs a full screen
- Judy (10/5): Fantastic - Loved the location. Very relaxing being on the water.
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sunitha (10/5): Fantastic will book again as so close to Adelaide - Location location location Being picky but no steam iron……lol 😅😅
- Jayne (9/5): Superb -
- Diana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Domenic (6/5): - Communication from Agent was poor. Waited 1 hour outside before we could get in on check in day.
Very noisy location with traffic, i couldn’t sleep.
- Anne (10/5): Fantastic and relaxing break. Will definitely come back. - Beautiful and relaxing outlook. Great place to get away and recharge Everything perfect
- Samantha (9/5): Relax and enjoy the view - We loved the fact that you can't get any closer to the water and the view is lovely. The studio is clean, well presented and comfortable If there was anything, it would be the standby lights from the electrical items were quite bright when you turn the lights off. We put something in front of it.
- Helen (10/5): A relaxing couple of nights watching the life of the river. - Charming, delightful location.Well appointed with everything we needed. Everything fine
- Megan (10/5): - A few unique and fine detail touches that made our stay so delightful.
The wind protected patio, complete with fairy lights and heater.
Comfortable bed, plenty of pillows and quality linen.
Tastey local bubbles in the fridge and push bikes provided to make it easier to access local area.
Super friendly owner on sight.

- Lee (10/5): - Lovely location, easy walk into Goolwa. Very clean and beautifully presented. Great hosts
- Genevieve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (10/5): - Lovely views and amenities were good. One improvement would be to defrost the freezer.
- Geoff (10/5): - Situated right over the water, property gave spectacular views over the river. Spotless interior and everything looked nice and fresh. Nice outside area for relaxing with a coffee and taking in the river. Probably one of the most unique and best places we have stayed.
- Tatyana (10/5): - hese studios are a hidden gem in a beautiful town of Goolwa. We stayed in Studio No 2, which is located right over water in an incredibly romantic setting. With peaceful river views and lovely sunsets we had little desire to leave the studio. And there was no need to go out in the evening because everything was there, a well-equipped kitchenette and a bottle of champagne thoughtfully left for us by our kind hosts.
The room was tastefully decorated and our bed was comfortable. It was like sleeping on a luxury boat without the motion sickness.
The bathroom was spacious and modern with a great shower.
In Boat Heaven studio we felt as on a mini honeymoon.
We hope to return to this magic place someday.

- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Terina (10/5): - Our studio was over the water, great sounds from water lapping underneath
