- Karlotta (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great family vacation, highly recommend - We loved the beach, it was really clean and the sand was so soft, the best we have experienced in Bintan. Our villa was really nice too, it felt bigger than the photos and everything was in great condition. The variety of pools was perfect for the whole family. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The food was pretty good too, and even catered for my vegan diet. Overall excellent value for money. The kids club is really good and big, but would have been nice to get more variety of toys. Also, the gym and the sauna both smelled a bit musty, I think they need a bit of a renovation. But these are very minor things, we would definitely stay here again.
- Valter Henrique (9/5): - Staff very helpful and polite, location and infrastructure excelent. The mattresses could.be more comfortable. Not a big issue.
- Hugh (10/5): -
- chingying (8/5): - 整套樓面積很大而且早餐很豐盛 有點舊
- Sophie (8/5): The staff and facilities were amazing, the villa is tired but it served our purposes well - The facilities (eg pools), staff and the family friendly activities were amazing! The villa itself was a bit tired and some of it wasn’t that clean or user friendly (eg kitchen cupboards weren’t very clean and were mostly filled with cleaning equipment like mops, could have done with a good clean, toaster and few more cooking utensils etc)
- KUMARI KARTHIK (7/5): Enjoyed with family though not happy with the property, certain individual and overall service and facility. - Spacious. Not Senior friendly (not rooms in ground level, old people must climb steps each time to access rooms.
Not all bathrooms have bath facility.
Bathing area is not fully glass shielded (in common bathroom), water flows everywhere near toilet and wash basin.
We travelled with 8 year old kid and 60+ years ladies. Our ferry time was at around 8:35 am giving us less than 30 mins for breakfast at The Coffee Shop restaurant. It was too early for them to have breakfast. Even after requesting for carrying a few Croissants, a male staff denied this request. This being our 4th visit to Nirwana Gardens group we can clearly see that the hospitality levels are coming down. May be we should be exploring other options and cut ties with Nirwana Gardens group.
- WAI YIN NICHOLAS (8/5): Descanso asegurado - Lo mejor es el entorno que es paradisiaco y el personal. El wifi no funciona del todo bien
- Mark (6/5): A nice place, but not great value on the whole. - The compound is vast and beautiful. Beach is nice and the available activities are varied and extensive. Just about everything costs extra and is expensive. It detracts from the holiday experience that you are asked to open your wallet wide, every time you want to do anything other than use the pool. The resort is far away from external activities and transport is tightly controlled so that it's very expensive regardless of where it is booked.
- Jemma (8/5): Great Bintan resort - The staff were fantastic and always attenrive. The location was wonderful, beach was awesome and all very clean. The pools were large and great for children and the watersports area was also fun. We were made aware in advance by the resort that there was a lot of maintenance and repair going on when we were there, however this will be great for future customers. The resort is not close to a local village so you are bound to what is within the resort unless you hire a car.
- Avik (9/5): - serene atmosphere, friendly staff, pristine beach, spacious villa, good food at the restaurants no shampoo in the bathrooms
- Filip (10/5): Nirwana Gardens – A Slice of Paradise - Nirwana Gardens is an exceptional resort, I love spending a few days there, the staff war very friendly, meals in the restaurants were delicious and the pool / beach was also a very nice place to be. The villa was very spacious inside, with all what we needed for our stay. It was surrounded by well maintained garden, in the resort itself there were possibilities for sport activities and also the option to book a trip outside the resort. There's truly nothig negative about our stay
- Yang (5/5): Passable -
- Keith (6/5): Pleasant - Spacious, clean, appliances to use Bathroom was very bad. Shower holder was broken. Water leaks out of shower due to insufficient depth. No door for shower.
Shower drainage poorly designed. It was at the back of the shower where there wasn't any door, so water flows and tends to flow out of the shower area. To make things worse, the depth of the shower was so shallow that you can't turn on tap fully.
One of the nights, the water wasn't hot after 10 minutes. Very bad shower experience.
- Matthew (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (7/5): Good -
- Joel (4/5): Disappointing - Service was great, ice water was fresh accommodation was bad- I booked the Suria 7,8. Facilities are out of date, badly need a refresher. Beds were harder the floor, toilet
- Guillaume (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bernard (10/5): Rest & Relax - Pub beverage is too expensive. Overall stay was good and staffs were nice and friendly .
- Sunita (7/5): Nice - Location was awesome, villas were good. activities were good too. Food was not great, not much options were available. We were there with 1 kid and 1 baby. Bed were too small (queen size) to co-sleep with baby/kid. Bathrooms were too small and smelly.
- Daryl (9/5): Superb -
- April (8/5): Overall, good experience. Very clean room. Suited my family of 7. Very friendly and helpful staff from reception, housek - 1. Clean and spacious with kitchen facilities.
2. free buggy transport to and from main reception.
3. Friendly staff 1. No shelter to the main building.
2. Living room is not air conditioned.
- Krishna (9/5): A great holiday - Excellent location, not too crowded and good food.
- Krishna (9/5): Excellent. - Friendly staff. Great location. Excellent food. Lot of activities and not overcrowded.
- Angel (9/5): Fun and adventurous - It was big and spacious area with nice swimming pools near me and delicious food near me. There were many insects flying around and a cockroach went in my bathroom somehow
- Vasu (8/5): Nice, value for money - Breakfast was very nice, location is along the beach which is very nice No aircon in the hall
- TOMONARI (8/5): - Employees are so kind that we felt comfortable
- Cátia (10/5): Exceptional - Very pleasant experience. We plan to come back.
- Shak (4/5): Disappointing -
- Hari (9/5): Superb - 1.Fan speed wasn't good enough
2. No air-conditioning on the ground floor
- Karen (7/5): Great stay over all, minor quibbles. - Great selection of restaurants and plenty activities to do. Villas were great for family of 4 with golf cart access. Breakfast choice was exceptional. We went around end of July and the resort was quite empty. A large choice of activities but they all came at a price.
- Shilpa (8/5): it was a pleasant stay for our family. - The staff-service at the resort is excellent. The beach is pristine and very serene ( we were in the off-season).
The villa is great for a large family like ours. we enjoyed our stay. The prices at the resort store is exorbitant. Also the breakfast spread was great only on the first day, in the rest of our stay, there was no buffet, but only the standard repetition.
- Neha (9/5): Overall nice and memorable stay - All the activities and facilities of resort are quiet well managed Pricing is on high side. They should give group or family discount.
- Jagjit (8/5): Overall it had been a beautiful stay and will surely come back ! - Loved the service by concierge team and the Housekeeping team. The buffet breakfast closes too early .. it should be till 10.30am as it is a holiday resort most guests will want to wake up little later.
My brother in law was upset with the service at the swimming pool on the request for the umbrellas to be set up for us. It took over 1 hour for the service to be delivered. That was disappointing as we saw that the staff were quick to assist the other guests (American/European). A number of excuses were given and finally they did set up the additional umbrella.
- Unnithan (8/5): Very good -
- Jeen (9/5): Superb - Rooms are big and spacious. There were 2 wall plugs that was burnt. This is risky as someone could be electric shock.
There was no area for barbecue.
The internet was bad.
- Varin (8/5): Nice - Very spacious There were a lot of cockroaches and lizard
- Benjamin (8/5): Great hotel with very friendly and helpful staff - Well maintained Some basic activities need to pay. E.g table tennis
- Leonel (8/5): Very good - Beach, Swimming pool, Villa and hospitality of the staffs. Foods and drinks are very expensive and we felt a little rushed out of breakfast every morning even though the staffs always talked to us in a very polite manner.
- Dewanand (10/5): I will return with my family again for more nights. - The location and rooms were excellent. The staff put on a good display and were very helpful. The beers were very pricey. But its ok.
- Sigrid (5/5): When all was settled we had an enjoyable stay. Staff was very helpful and friendly. - Did not stay at Villa as staircase unsuitable, switched to main hotel.
lifts location inconvenient. needs upgrading
- Sreekumar (9/5): Superb -
- Nisha (9/5): Great place for a family holiday - Staff were very professional and friendly.
Facilities were clean.
- Parve (10/5): Experience was great but not economical - Location, staff, cleanliness Villa Living Room should have Air Conditioning
- Jia (9/5): Superb -
- Chen (8/5): Very good -
- Yan (1/5): Disappointing with the poorly maintained facilities and not good value for the price we paid. - Beautiful spot right by beach with several restaurants Facilities are extremely tired and not maintained at all, resulting in 2 accidents where my brother’s leg got cut as he accidentally stepped on an already broken drain cover by the poolside; followed by my sister-in-law tripping and falling down as she was about to sit at the poolside round settee as it was left right by the curb, resulting in multiple ankle fractures and 2 surgery plus hospitalisation! One of the 2 gym bikes was broken and there whole area was dirty with no gym mats for stretching . Our villas were also dirty when we checked in, with balls of hair all over the stairs and on my daughter’s bed..
- Shu (8/5): Very good - Food was never an issue for us with two young kids and elderly. Nirwana Gardens has got shuttle service to the other part of it. The beach is not exactly clean nor encouraged for swimming. But I am glad the huge swimming pool made up for it.
- Nuit (7/5): I enjoyed the location & resort. I’ll come back but stay in a hotel. - Location is close to ferry station. Bathroom & bedroom upstair are small. But it is just enough for a family with 2 adults & 1 child.
- Winzy (1/5): nth, the villa is super old and smelly. The food and drink all overpriced compared to other country. Would not come back - nth, the villa is super old and smelly.
- Adam (9/5): Superb -
- Boon (7/5): Good -
- Denis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Frank (8/5): Nice stay in the tropics - Great staff and location. No A/C in the ground floor of the villa made for a very uncomfortable to stay. The property is not exposed to sea breezes so it is very hot and uncomfortable. Installing a small A/C on the ground floor would make the stay perfect
- Eric (6/5): Pleasant -
- Yi (9/5): Superb - The staff there is very friendly. Some restaurants closed. The eating choices is not enough for long stay.
- Hendra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Varadharajan (9/5): Superb -
- Muhammad (8/5): Enjoyable - Beautiful beach and excellent staff. Resort facilities good and well maintain. Will be better if they install aircon at the 1st storey of the villa.
- Bibin (10/5): Exceptional - great place, great service. NA
- Mary (7/5): Good -
- Nadiah (10/5): absolutely lovely! - loved the view! the place was such a great getaway and we absolutely loved everything about the villa. staff were amazing and we felt so welcome from the moment we arrived suria 4 toilet has a funny smell but probably just piping, could just put some good air freshener in the toilets. food abit pricey.
- Tien (5/5): Passable -
- Rachel (8/5): Very good - Services Living room no aircon
- Imelda (3/5): Overpriced. Low quality - Staff Overpriced. You basically have to pay for everything- kids club, activities even floats for pool! Room furnishing old. No toiletries. Need to ask. Food was way overpriced but lacking in quality. Breakfast venue was under renovation and they set guests up at poolside cafe. No fan, hot sun. Pretty obvious management did not walk the ground to experience for themselves how guests would feel in such conditions. Even their staff were complaining about the venue. Won’t be back
- Abhishek (9/5): Superb -
- Laurens (8/5): Very good - We had a good stay and the villa was very spacious. The swimming facilities and connection to the beach was excellent, the kids had a great time! The prices of food is rather high for Indonesia standards.
- Wk (7/5): decent. - Staff were friendly & responsive. No Aircon on first floor of villa. can be very warm in the afternoon. water pressure of the shower was not strong.
- Jodie (9/5): Fantastic big family getaway location. - The staff! They are really patient with our requests and always try their best to help. I had mentioned in the online chat that I am travelling with an elderly and would like to borrow a wheelchair. The moment we got off the bus when we reached the hotel foyer, the wheelchair was already there waiting. They provided buggy service to bring guests to and fro the lobby and villa. However, it is not that far to walk to and fro too. Only takes about 5 mins from the villa we were staying. We also did not have to wait long for the buggy to pick us up. Food served during the breakfast buffet at the Coffee Shop is delicious, although not many varieties. Food at the Dino Bistro and room service is also yummy. Firstly, the seasports centre is under a lot of renovation now. There is no food available. The number of activities is also quite limited. We tried kayaking and snorkelling. Kayaking qas fun. However, snorkelling is a bit disappointing as the area which they brought us to has got murky water. We could only spot a few small fishes. The corals were not very nice.
Secondly, there are 2 restaurants in the hotel lobby area. But one of them was closed at night and in the afternoon. So, food is limited. Would be good if the convenience shop at the hotel lobby can sell some food which we can buy back to the villa to cook. This will solve the limited food issues.
Thirdly, we have 2 family members staying in the hotel room. So, we requested for the room to be nearest to the villa possible. However, they gave us a room at the other end.
Fourthly, some toiletries, for example, the toothbrushes and combs, are only available upon request. So are the bedroom slippers.
Lastly, it would be good if there is aircon at the living area of the villa. Currently, there is only aircon in the room. The living and dining area can get a bit warm and stuffy.
- Chai (7/5): An "almost perfect" short stay @ Banyu Biru Villa. - Breakfast - no complain, wide spread.
Room - big enough, comfortable. It will be pleasant if there is air conditioner in the living room, provide better comfort for the guests, especially on hot days.
Toilet - should have provide the toiletries up front.
Kitchenette - will be good to have microwave oven. allow guest to heat up food
Washing bay - suggest to have clear signage to lead guest to wash sand off the feet and footwear before entering the room Could have increase the bus frequency within the resort area during peak hours (milk run bus shuttle service between resorts)
some facilities are closed i.e bowling center.
no shuttle service to outside Nirwana resort (confined within resort compound)
- Pradnya (9/5): Lovely - Amazing variety at breakfast, beach, clear calm sea, pools, villa, choice of activities Hardly any vegetarian options (except the spice restaurant)
- Sei (8/5): Very good -
- Frank (8/5): Very good -
- Hasnita (6/5): Pleasant - Spacious Buggy facilities since its expensive to rent one.
Didn't upgrade even though in booking.com listed as such
- Rob (9/5): Superb -
- Georg (8/5): Beautiful getaway for a few days - Extremly friendly and helpful staff. Everybody grew beyond theirselves to make our stay pleasant for all of us. We had a 3 bedroom villa which was perfect for our family of 6. The surrounding gardens are well maintained, the location was peaceful and especially the kids loved the pool with waterslide. Kids club was lovingly, they took good care of our grandchildren. Food options very limited and expensive for what you get. Due to the remote location there's no chance to dine outside the resort. During our stay many places were closed and after some days they even reduced the breakfast buffet to mainly a la carte. After complaining to the management we found a satsfying solution for us.
- Yati (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ronger (8/5): I wish I could stay longer! - the staff are super friendly and helpful. there are lots of facilities and activities in the resort. things are overpriced in general. a can of beer is triple the price in a small local mart. difficult to navigate outside of the resort, as it’s far and not convenient as to transport.
- Loh (8/5): Very good - The villa, rooms, beddings were clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast spread was quite good. The food at The Coffee Shop restaurant was good too, though the wait for food was slightly longer, probably die to the holiday season. The children enjoyed the swimming pool at Nirwana Gardens.
- Abhinav (7/5): Good -
- Kai (7/5): comfortable and clean -
- Stephanie (8/5): Very good - Rest and relax cosy place Cleaness abit down, lighting abit down.
Staff of the cafe attitude is below expectations.
- Hazel (7/5): Good -
- Grace (8/5): nicer than expected - stayed in 3br villa and pleasantly surprised by the villa and resort. there were 3 bathrooms (though downstairs shower had no shower curtain), big tv downstairs (smaller one in master) with lots of channels and overall well maintained. just at this price point, expectations a little higher - living room not big enough for 6 pax, no helpful amenities like beach bag, umbrella, slippers
- Anonymous (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lai (8/5): service - 15min from ferry terminal and Safari Lagoi. bugs & creepy crawlies everywhere!
even on the bed. while this is prob not their
fault since it’s forest and foliage all around. also the internet is abysmal. I can’t even load a photo onto Instagram. even if it’s free I wouldn’t use it. rather pay for faster internet.
- Stephanie Wai Ling (8/5): - Villa was nice and clean. Staff were nice and friendly.
- Roger (7/5): Good - Villa was good...beach excellent... The whole complex demands refurb...it also needs to entice customers...why charge a fee for everthing inc table tennis....ridiculous...no happy hour, so why drink there...drinks greatly inflated prices as was the food. Mini market us hotel owned so same exorbitant price. ..you must entice customers to spend more at bars....most eating areas not in use....wont go back
- Patricia (9/5): very pleasant stay, responsive and nice staff. - very clean and well maintained property, despite slowly coming out of covid woes. strange smell in the toilet, not because it isn’t clean but just some strange smell that I can’t identify.
- Sebastien (8/5): Very good -
- Satyendra (9/5): A pleasant stay at beautiful place - Clean and well maintained villa. Lots of greenery around and small ponds with lotus flowers looked really nice. Very close to the pool and Nirwana hotel. Very polite and helpful staff, always willing to assist with smile. Wish the bedrooms were also on the same floor. Spice restourant wasn’t great experience due to poor service and not properly cooked food, may be they were too busy on Saturday.
- Michael (9/5): Lovely stay in Bintan at Banyi Bira Villas. Resort staff were very welcoming. - Our villa was lovely - very clean, quite and very well cleaned. The villa would benefit from a small bluetooth speaker system to play favourite music.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - it is good value for money and staff are very friendly.
- Che-Wei (8/5): Great place for family - Great place for relax and leisure time.
- Crystal (10/5): - Very cosy & pleasant staying here. But the in-house activities & restaurant prices are slightly more expensive than Singapore.
