Departure37508003612 (2/5): Bad night - Check in lady was very nice They wanted my license for a photo of it The guy Jim was very rude not good customer service at all Jim wanted my card number for a holding fee but it did not sound right. He goes pay the money or leave this was at 2030 at night also. The room has do not smoke in the room as soon as you open the it smell like cigarettes. The shower pressure is no good The room is very basic not worth $125 The road noise is very bad so loud
Mje4390 (4/5): Better places - Rooms very dated, very noisy right on highway. Only booked there because found it difficult to get a room, was quoted $145 per night we booked two rooms, but was charged $150. Looks like they may have some permanents there. People wandering and knocking on doors at all hours of the night. As two females travelling did not feel particularly safe staying there. Even though there is a chain on doors. Bed was comfortable. Cutlery plates in room and walking distance to eats. Would I stay again. Nope.

We found it clean and everything we needed. The only thing I would say is the noise from the highway was loud at night. It is very close walking distance to a variety of food options which we found convenient. We would stay again

SubmersibleHuman (8/5): Easy location, clean and very friendly staff - Firstly - I think I got the very last room in Rockhampton that night - I am so grateful they picked up the phone so late that night after 10pm) and I found somewhere to sleep that night. Granted the price was much higher than normal - a local event had everything booked out and priced over double, nearly triple the normal rate. I'm reviewing this hotel at the price listed if I stayed tonight (weeknight - Thurs) with only 1hr notification at the current price showing online - instead of the Monday just past. I don't begrudge what I paid - was just grateful for a bed that night. But I wouldn't have paid that much on a regular planned booking. -------- Very, very helpful staff - everyone I bumped into were so happy to help and also check in on me after checking in so late the night before after a 9+hr drive. (Massively slowed due to heavy rains, roadworks and traffic). Very clean room, air con worked great, bed was super comfortable and the best pillows Ive seen in a long time. Spare pillows and blanket, tea and coffee, milk and water with the fridge. Shower - water was hot with great pressure. As its right on the A1 Bruce highway - yes its noisey sometimes with road trains, but not a deal breaker. A bit dated, but good on a budget and most importantly, clean. Its not fancy, but perfect for a good sleep and shower!

Some made WAY TOO MUCH NOISE for being up at 4-5am with no regards to other people who are trying to sleep. Reverse beepers on cars & talking loudly outside the room is bad form.

Travel35501229796 (2/5): Rip you off and take your money and me no speak English motel! - Ripped me off by trying to charge me a security deposit of $500 which I refused as it was not in there terms of service with booking.com so I couldn’t stay the night and they then wouldn’t refund my room. Do not stay here!!! B
Brian18241 (2/5): Unreasonable management - Horrible place, management are less then friendly, the rooms are disgusting and out dated and it’s over priced. Bugs galore, and don’t think you’re going to get a good nights sleep, noisy as all hell.
laurmarg (4/5): ULTRA BASIC! - My husband and I stayed one night and that was enough. The room had no basin in the bathroom, no dishcloth, no glasses, no plates, no cutlery (except for 2 teaspoons) and yet there was a toaster (don't know how we were supposed to butter our toast), all the furniture was very, very old but the room's one saving grace was that it was clean. Traffic noise was pretty bad and could hear people in the next room. The motel is within walking distance to many eating places, so that was a plus and the manager was very pleasant. Sorry, but we wouldn't stay here again.

kimherring (2/5): Disgusting place - This motel was disgusting The smell of faeces in the room was awful when we got up here his morning, I can only assume it was from the drains. This place does not deserve to be trading. If you want to stay somewhere on a budget, then choose a camp site cabin.
Jason (4/5): - I was away for a sporting weekend. I specifically booked with this motel and booked the family room as it was advertised as having a washer/dryer. It did not. Instead there was a washer/dryer available to use for $7 but was behind a locked door the entire time. The manager was very nice and let me use their washer twice but i really needed to use it a few more times but because they were out of hours I wasn't able to.

We did find the floor very slippery when wet in the bathroom area at our age posed a slip risk so floor matt would be great. Goannas (4/5): Basic and cheap - It is clean and comfortable enough and the room was a reasonable size but in truth it was ultra basic. You get what you pay for, I guess. To be honest, we actually thought we were booking a different motel. Nothing really wrong with it if you're after a budget room for a one night stay, but we will stay elsewhere next time.
Rev Dr Elizabeth (6/5): - it was good to have a microwave available and washing up liquid and tea towel, but there was no crockery or utensils above three mugs and tea spoons. no replenishing of tea/coffee sachets. no hand towel or face washer. if you are willing to 'bring your own everything' except a bath towel and sheets, basic property value fair for overnight stays.

marksK3057IE (2/5): Shocking response to Covid related cancellation - Welcome Home will never get my business again. I travelled there each year from Cairns with my brother to attend the Rocky swap meet in August and have always stayed here as it was clean, a good price and close to Rocky show grounds. I had booked again this year but decided to cancel when a Delta strain case was identified in Cairns, another case was found in Rocky the previous week, and my brother has a number of health issues plus hadn't received his second vaccination. We initiated the cancellation four days before our planned stay. After being passed back and forth between Bookings.com and the Motel over a couple of days and with still two days to go, the Motel knocked back our cancellation. So now have to pay $150 for the pleasure of not going. DONT USE THIS MOTEL.

Verified traveler (4/5): - We stayed on family room 18. The property is severely out dated. Everything was old and dirty, stained curtains and old bed spreads. Furniture was 2 steel outdoor chairs, no heating in the room, a bathroom door that doesn't close and a shower you should wear thongs in. We absolutely froze in that room, it was tiled, and with no heating it was definitely a restless and broken sleep. No cuttlery or plates for a family room, but there was an old kettle and older toaster and microwave. We have never had an issue staying in older motels, but this place is not just old, its just pure arrogance to even rent out a unit in this condition!
947stormj (6/5): Tell me ur a budget motel without telling me ur a budget motel - Old but it's budget, parking is tight, room on different sight said heater in room.. no heater only aircon, no sink in bathroom, small sink in main room, jug, iron,tv, free wifi, toaster,ironing board, microwave, no utensils or plates (bring your own), no washing up detergent.. room is clean , can hear every noise in every near by room next to us, bed is comfy, aircon filter is clean..

Toilet door is closed by a barrel bolt as it doesn’t close otherwise, kitchen has stove and microwave (works well)but we washed all dishes before using as the cupboards were dirty and door hinges were broken. Only has door lock on door no extra lock. We had 3 bedroom apartment, felt like we were standing right on highway. I new the hotel was on the highway but this apartment is literally over the top of the footpath. The apartment sleeps 6 but it only has a 2 seater lounge and then dining chairs. I miss read the room facilities...assumed had washer and dryer in room and it didn’t, went and inquired about laundry and reception lady informed me she was still using it until after 6. Went and looked at laundry and I think our cloths were cleaner than laundry. We sleep in all types of accommodation but tonight we wished we were camping as it would have been much better value for money

R (2/5): - Extremely noisy location due to road traffic, our room was main road facing, and a lack of insulation/noise proofing meant no sleep. Deadlock on door broken. No bath mat, but staff quickly rectified when I brought it to their attention. No sheet for baby’s cot. I couldn’t be bothered requested one, as it was late when I realised.

The other complaint was had a park out side our unit when we ca e back all put o e park had cars and had to park 3 units away from our door also tparking spaces are not made for large 4 x 4 drives had diffuclity reversi g out and getting swing because of cars parked on fence and 4 x 4 parked beside me . Would stay again for short 2 or 3 night stay .

Navydave1953 (6/5): The Staff Made It Great - We were welcomed by Peter at the reception, what a great sense of humour, he made us very welcome. Peter explained that breakfast was no longer an option, but with the multitude of fast food outlets and restaurants in the vicinity this was understandable and acceptable. Crockery and cutlery had been put in our room as had been promised by the bubbly and helpful Rhianna. The room was clean and smelt clean. The Air-conditioner worked well and the TV was great, the bed was extremely comfortable. However, the design/layout of the room was poor, no washbasin in the bathroom, the TV centred on the bed, which meant that the reading lights were off to the right of the bed. Room furnishings were a little dated and there were no coat hangers, but considering the very economical nightly rate it was acceptable. The great attitude of the staff more than made up for the problems of the room. All in all we were very satisfied.

leavingTAS (10/5): Came for a night, stayed for over a week! - We checked in at the end of a long drive. The staff could not have been friendlier! The rates were inexpensive and we decided to make this our "home base" while hunting for a home. Laundry facilities on site, comfortable bed, and the shower is the best in Australia! The room is pretty basic, but again the rates can't be beat. Within walking distance of all the fast food places and close to some nice restaurants. The place is full every night so obviously we aren't the only ones who feel this way! Perhaps book ahead!
Grace (10/5): Convenient - Fabulous accommodation for a simple trip in the heart of Rockhampton. No problems encountered. Very clean and practical room that is an easy walk around the town’s shops and restaurants.

HelenWindle (8/5): Good spot - Spent a night here with my 2 sisters-in-law as we headed south after a nephews wedding. The decor is a bit old but our room was clean. It was within walking distance from a lively chinese restaurant for dinner. The road noise didn't bother us so we slept well.
