• Kamil (10/5): - This is a very affordable place. The rooms are basic but clean with air conditioner. Bathrooms are assigned to each room but not internal. Staff are great and so is the resident dog.
• Verified traveler (10/5): - I really enjoyed my stay at Tubotel, as far as low-cost hostel stays go it was an exceptionally comfortable stay. Booking a private room was really a good choice. I booked the private partial sea-view and really appreciated that I did. Even so the area is so easy to move around and the patio is right on the ocean so you have great views no matter what. The staff were helpful and friendly. The complimentary breakfast was great! Definitely recommend the chicken burgers. For a single smaller negative, it was quite difficult to get to the main beaches from there without taking a taxi. Though they are very affordable and quick to arrive.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Need maintenance - It use to be a nice and cost place but now it's a bit run down with no maintenance done for some of the cubicles. We was allocated one with termites.

• Neni (2/5): - The properties not as pictures e.g. there's no daybed. Alex the boss is arrogant. He even scolded the staff in front of guests. Toilets are old and rusty. Location: quite far from the beach and town. You may need your own transport unless you prefer just being stucked there.
• YW (8/5): - Close to hotel RM10 from airport. Bed is good for one pax as u can spread ur luggage n stuff on bed. Toilet n shower block is clean w hot shower water n shower cream provided. There is a restaurant behind Tubotel for an easy dinner.
• Jonathan (6/5): Decent low cost accommodations - Its not bad for a cheap hostel type of accommodation. The single room is just the size of a queen bed but the sheets were clean and environment quiet and I slept well in it. Although the wifi does work it was very slow and subpar and only in the common area. This is the most important thing to me that I would recommend management address. Make the wifi connection easy and get the speed up to normal quick speeds and eliminate dropout periods.
• Charlie (8/5): Tubotel, Langkawi - Vi bodde på Tubotel 2 nätter, som stop mellan Singapore och Koh Lipe. Sängen tar upp hela tuben så är ganska trångt, men det hade vi räknat med. Mysigt ställe med trevlig personal! Perfekt för backpackers som vill övernatta en eller ett par nätter. Det negativa med tubotel är läget, tar ca 30 min att gå till "stan" med butiker, restauranger osv. Finns dock en taxihållplats 100m bort. Kostade 30-40kr. Personalen var jättetrevlig och hjälpsam! Glatt positiva när vi åkte vidare!

• Alla (8/5): Quirky, fun place but pricey for what you get - Great view of the water, but there's no swimming. Playful and quirky hotel that is more suitable for younger people than seasoned travelers. Menu was limited to just pizza. Each tube was only big enough for a bed. Shared bathrooms and showers were not even coed, just one for all.
• dan (8/5): Original but far from beach - Despise this original and funky (in a good way) hotel been next to the ocean, the actual beach is a good 20 minutes away due to a creek and rocks. Nice staff. Horrible internet. Breakfast was a nice surprise having several options but sadly none was very well cook. Planes constantly fly above all day long. Good for a short stay and to take a few pictures inside a huge concrete pipe!

• Verified traveler (6/5): Pleasant view with unpleasant experience - We enjoyed the unique concept of sea front view and friendly staff especially a Malay girl wearing tudung. However, there are few problems we need to highlight about. The bathroom experience wasn't as expected. Bathrooms near sea front rooms are cleaner but most water heaters weren't working. Same goes to bathrooms behind check in counter, some water heater weren't working and there are no racks for placing our own toiletries. Besides, hotel should provide 2 towels for 1 room. Garden view walkways have insufficient lightings which make guests feel lack of security. It was raining almost everyday during our stay, it was kind of annoying as there wasn't any shelter outside our rooms as well as the walkways. We had to get ourselves wet while heading for shower and get wet again after shower. Sigh. We found sands on the bed sheets and my friend's room didn't come with a carpet, floor was wet and dirty. The small bar with water bottles was full of dirt as well. Cat poops can be seen at many walkways, I accidentally stepped on it upon arriving the room. It was really an unpleasant experience, I was shocked that there's such thing happened at a hotel which price is higher than other same grade hotels. The wifi coverage wasn't that good as some of us couldn't get to connect. Lastly, the noisy sound came from jetty was the most unpleasant thing, it disturbed us whole night while sleeping. We really hope to see improvements made so that we could recommend to others.
• Abraham David (8/5): Enough for what you pay - Good place to stay, it's an original idea and the beds are very comfy, but they should clean the rooms at least every two days, we spend one week there and nobody cleaned our room. and put more attention in the facilities maintenance

• Yeong Chean (10/5): Superb stay for short getaways - Tubotel concept is magnificent and cosy. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Excellent view for sunset viewing... I would say it's a great place for relax and chill by the seasides.

• Feng (8/5): Best buy at Cenang Beach - The view faced with the sea was very beatiful and the staff were kindly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious too. Hope the AC remote-control and other usefull stuff can be put somewhere reachable, otherwise customers have to creep on the bed to get them in an uncomfortable posture. Another thing is that the sheet is not cleen actually.
• Richard (10/5): Really good hostel! - This is a really good hostel, the room was in a shipping container which sounds strange but was really nice! VERY clean, clean linen and storage for your bags! The breakfast is the best I have had in a hostel and I have been traveling for 5 months! The location is about a 25 minute walk from the main town and out of the way which is good if you want to chill out like I did! The only thing I think this hostel needs to do is sell drinks from their bar as they would make more money, there is a vending machine but it's annoying as you always need correct change, if you could sit and chill all day and order drinks (even just soft drinks) they would make more money and would be easier for guests (it's not an issue but I think it would be good for both guests and the hostel alike) I would stay here as it's quiet and nice surroud
• Laura (6/5): Nice relaxing hostel - This is a great place if you want to unwind and relax. The common space is amazing with tons of comfy places to sit and enjoy the amazing sunset. Dorms are clean and bed comfy. However, as a solo traveler the location was not good... not close to the center so you have to take taxi to town 15-20rng both ways. Also, need to walk 1km to beach. Close to airport, friendly staff and amazing made to order breakfast! Overall I ended up spending too much money on taxis.
• Shaheera (8/5): Nice basic hotel - It was my first time to this type/concept of hotel. I choose the seafront which is worth the money as the view is spectacular. I'll get to see the sun set from my room, and when the night falls, it was romantic and relaxing. The bed fills up the room, and I was shock initially as i was worried there is no space for my luggage. But underneath the bed there is some space for baggage. In my opinion, this hotel is best for backpackers or those looking for a unique stay and don't mind the shared toilet.
• CHONG (8/5): nice hotel close the beach,special room - first time stay,overall ok.. For a budget hotel it was okay ,I guess the only problem is the space. Apart from that,everything was up to par. The staffs were very friendly,very relaxing and calm place.

• Jake (4/5): Meh - My girlfriend and I always splurged on the sea view tube with king size bed. very nice view, neighbours are a little too close for comfort but manageable, the beds are terrible. Considering you're paying upwards of 50 $ CAD for a room, you'd think the beds would be decent enough. Oh and pizza the only thing on the menu?! Really?? come on now. location is quite a ways out of the main strip of cenang Beach but easily solved with a scooter. Staff were okay, could have smiled more and been more inviting but maybe that's just me, they're slow to start in the morning. or at least they were until the manager showed up.

• Ashleigh (8/5): Recommended for backpackers. - The rooms were nice, comfortable and air conditioned. I was here for 3d2n, staffs were friendly, clean bathrooms and toilet since they were shared. Breakfast was provided from 7am-11am and the menu was pleasant. In fact, they were prepared freshly and delicious. Great view of the sea from where we stayed and a great location to just chill and witness the sunset with calming sound of the waves and it's quite breezy. Though there will be planes flying in and out due to the location of the hotel which is just at the south of the airport but it didnt bother us, it was fun watching them arrive and take off. If you are a simple not fussy traveller, this is a great place to stay.

The rooms although small, you literally had no space to stand, basically once you open your door, you collapse on your bed. But the breakfast included was satisfying.

No WiFi in rooms and no WiFi in the lobby (they said it was under maintenance) -- seemed like it has been that way for a while by reading other comments. • Sarah (8/5): Lovely sea view - if the weather is good! - Dont stay during rainy season! The tube is fine although mattress very hard. It rained most of the time we were there, which not Tubotel fault of course, meant we couldn't enjoy the little balcony & chairs so were pretty restricted to the confinement of the tube. Toilets are a little walk away so if you have to go in the middle of the night you'll probably get soaked! Showers were fine but toilet overall wasn't the cleanest. Breakfast fantastic!!!
• Verified traveler (10/5): Quirky cool and beautiful views - Such a quirky hotel! Tubes are not hugely spacious but upgrading to a sea view was definitely worth it! Views are amazing. Super easy to rent bikes or motorbikes for about £3/day to go down to Cenang. Staff were polite and helpful. Breakfasts were very nice too! Overall we had a great time and it's brilliant value for money.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Dreamland waking up to the sea! - Unique hotel but worth the Sea View! I would recommend having a sea view room for the experience. Wifi and breakfast was good, room was bigger then I actually thought. It is a little out of the way, however cheap to get to places or a good walk. It's a shame they do not have the pool or hot tubs or otherwise it would of been the perfect getaway.
• Jon (10/5): Sunset on the bed - You just cannot get any closer to the sea from your bed than this. I could have happily stayed in bed and stared at the open sea all day. It's perfect for couples. So snug and cute. The bathroom facilities are shared and the reason it must be shared only becomes obvious, if you are thick like me, when you see the tube rooms in person. The website should make this clear. While always clean, they need a bit of TLC. Breakfast was delish especially the bread and Chorizo con papas.

The tubes are just big enough for a double bed with your suitcases stored underneath. I did have a lot of tiny black ant sharing the bed with me, which wasn't that fun. The breakfast made up for my tiny tube guests.
• Verified traveler (6/5): beds can be quite moist. - It rained during my stay, so the bed and doona are pretty moist. Need to lay down a towel to sleep on. Toilets and shower rooms are in condition you will typically find in a shared rental preperty. Toilets are fever wet.
• Nick (10/5): Fun and edgy little hotel with a great view - As other reviews have said this hotel is a bit different, and if that's what you're looking for that's a good thing. The "tube" rooms themselves are small. The beds are fine, but that's all there is in the room and you will have a hard time fitting in a large suitcase (let along several pieces of luggage). The shared bathroom is clean and well supplied. And the breakfast is excellent; it's definitely one of the better hotel breakfasts I have had in Malaysia. The view from the hotel patio and the rooms is also fantastic. I enjoyed sitting on the patio behind my tube with a drink looking out across the water. There are a few things to be aware of. You will need to leave a 50 ringgit deposit for the key, so make sure you have 50RM when you check in (and don't lose your deposit receipt). The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from town (or a 3-minute drive). They also play music on a loop for most of the day, which I was ok with but some might find it annoying. Overall I would certainly come back on another quick visit.
• Liqing (8/5): Best value for a hostel! - The place is awesome. We came from Westin after staying there for two nights and reached sometime near evening. I chose here after learning about the good reviews and because the location is nearer to the airport and decided that you can pay much lesser than 5* rate but still get equivalent good views! It's totally different leagues altogether of course, but Tubotel has its own charms and pros in its own right. When I come back I will definitely stay here. It's a great thing that there's a limited number of rooms and it's really quiet and cosy at a night - like staying at a beachhouse. Food and drinks are really affordable, and the host and hostess are very kind and friendly. Pity kitchen closes early, but I guess this means not too much crowd and noise at the common area, which is a good thing so you can enjoy the breeze from your room, and marvel and relax in the beauty of Langkawi's night sky. The beautiful pictures of the hostel online are usually true to real life and it's usually what you see is what you get. I will definitely come back to stay here again at a fraction of Westin's rate!
• Zyx (2/5): Terrible service! Terrible Staff! - Due to some technical issue happened between Expedia, Bank and Hotel, I booked 2 days and pay the hotel room for 2 days, the invoice also stated check in on 5/5/2015 and check out on 7/5/2015. However. the invoice only show the amount for 1 day staying. After the hotel staff realized that, they took out all our personal belonging from the room and put it beside the counter. I understand this situation but they never try to call us regarding this issue, and took out all our personal belonging without our permission is definitely unacceptable! (Me and my friends are not around in hotel during that time). Just saying sorry is unacceptable in this incident, they just spoil our mood in the entire trip! Terrible Service!!!
