• Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel - Rooms need a freshen up, in the shower the water was running out and nearly went out the door. The bather rooms need a really good update

• Ree (4/5): More like a Motel - When we entered our first room, there was a stain on the floor where the door was and a funny smell. Tried to put up with it & put the aircon on, but after 10 minutes, we had to ask if we could change rooms. The staff was very helpful in allowing us to do so and kept us on the "sea view" level we paid for. The second room still had a smell but not as strong. The condition of parts of the room weren't great. However, the bed was comfortable and clean. After arrival, we didn't feel content with the price as we expected better quality of the accommodation. I understand though, that it could have been more due to a last minute booking for a room on a Saturday night. Either way, I wouldn't go back.

• Kevin (2/5): What a dump - The door almost fell apart opening it, the light didn't work, there were mould stains on the roof of the shower. Grubby, dingy, dirty. Was expecting a break in or by car to be on bricks in the morning. Was surprised not to see hookers using the rooms. An absolute dump.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Clean, quiet, comfortable and convenient - Absolutely loved our stay here! Yes, this is a budget hotel - $120 for a seaview queen room. However the rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff lovely and helpful and the location was wonderful with a beautiful beach and restaurants nearby. I would not hesitate coming back here, I'd rather spend more time in this beautiful place than more money on a room I only sleep and shower in - not forgetting that the rooms have air con, a bar fridge, iron and hair dryer if you wish also. Thank you so much, this hotel was a pleasant surprise!

• Rhonda (2/5): The hotel was nice but not the rooms - When we arrived we were asked how we were going to pay and we had already pre paid .Gave us a room key and when we opened the door cockroaches ran at us the room was disgusting the fridge was all rusty.Went and complained they gave us another room they said was renovated sure was better than first room. No phones in room or alarm clock .To bad if you didnt have mobile.Had to ask for milk for room new floor mats for bathroom and thats after the cleaners had been in there.I suggest you look at your cleaners or check your rooms after they so call clean them.The restaurant was excellent very clean and the wait staff very friendly would highly recommend this.

• Darryl (6/5): Very convenient location. Staff were very friendly - Club facilities were very good. The food was also very good & reasonably priced. The Tom Jones Tribute event was very enjoyable & entertaining.
• Local (4/5): Room was ok, but prices need to be more reflective - Stayed here overnight to be close to a family function and didn't want to drive home. The reception is hard to find but staff were helpful. The bed and linen were clean and comfortable, room was clean and tidy but had a musty smell and noticed a big dirty hand print on the shower wall the next morning. Don't think they should be advertising it as a balcony sea view room as the balcony was not private where you could enjoy the view, it's just the outdoor walkway. Probably wouldn't pay $120 again but would stay again if the room was a more realistic price.

• Bev (8/5): Nice hotel by the beach - Room is basic but has all your essentials, top level has views of the beach. Could do with an extra blanket in the room as we were a little chilly so slept with the heater on for a few hours, but otherwise has everything you need.
• angela (2/5): Rushed in before checking out reviews - When we arrived it took us about half an hour to find out we're to collect the keys, the lights outside the rooms were switched off we had to find our way in the dark. First impression of room basic, after 10 minutes we found 3 cockroaches near the sink and in the toaster. It was very noisy at 3 pm in the morning. We only booked in for 1 night as we were going to support the local park run, we should have checked the reviews before we booked. We did not use the restaurant but found a nice Chinese restaurant to have our evening meal.

• R (6/5): Room - Room had been upgraded since I stayed there 4+ years ago and it was clean but there was nowhere to hand my clothes. I only stayed one night. The office was not in use and I had to ask where to check-in. Bed wad comfy.

• Robyn (2/5): The Bates Motel - This was the most disgusting hotel I have stayed at in a very long time. It was like staying at the Bates Motel. I ha to walk in to the gaming room to get the key, the exterior of the rooms was all cracked paint. The room itself was like something from the 50's and very dirty. The internet did not work in the rooms - only in the hotel bar. Staff were very unhelpful and unpleasant. I do NOT recommend staying here.
• Warbs (8/5): Christies Beach Hotel - Clean and tidy room. Side tables for bed didn't open but no big deal. Plastic spoons for tea/coffee a bit different. Bistro had a good menu and nicely priced.

Some of the people staying next to us weren't the best seemed like they may housea halfway house situation. The neighbours would yell and scream at 5am and late at night. Didn't bother me as I usually wake up that time anyway but I could see how it would annoy others.

• Verified traveler (2/5): This was a very dirty run down hotel room. - We thought we were getting a balcony room with a sea view but that is not at all what we got. The room was a concrete box with no view and the carpet was filthy, the shower leaked water out of the door and up the corridor, the TV did not work and staff could not fix it. No one could be found to check out and complain to so key left with cleaner.
