Guest Reviews
- Gretchen (7/5): - Beautiful old pub! Very deceiving from the front. Dinner was nice. Nicely decorated room. If you want to use the spa put water on & go have dinner !! Very low pressure so didn't bother. Overall for the money it was good value! The mattress was really uncomfortable!
- Adam (7/5): -
- Jessica (5/5): Very average - Location The smell the hard mattress
- Julie (8/5): -
- Michelle (9/5): We would definitely stay again. - Great location, comfortable room and friendly staff. Very good value. Shower was cold.
- Leah (10/5): Short stay but stay again - Clean and tidy Nothing
- June (9/5): - Staff and food lovely
- Michelle (8/5): One nighter - In the centre of town, easy parking out the back. Continental breakfast in a box was great and having the facility to make a cuppa in the morning Nothing
- Anthony (9/5): -
- Jen (9/5): - Excellent place to stay. The breakfast packs were so good. All good.
- Axel (8/5): Great place, good food. Nice room. - Great location. Conviniently lnked to the pub
- blackaspirin (10/5): Great country hotel - Efficiency from staff..rooms were clean..bar and bistro were excellent and location was superb.. meals were lovely and well priced Carpark for small cars only and no lift to rooms as they are all upstairs. I know its hard to put in a elevator but disabled ppl wouldn't be able to stay there ..
- Spaghetti (8/5): Comfortable and Excellent, Happy, Friendly Staff - The room was very clean and a comfortable bed. Staff were fantastic. Didn't realise until the morning there had been no bread left for our toast however breakfast package was good. Wi-fi kept dropping off in our room which was a bit frustrating. Overall very good stay though.
- Hernandez (9/5): - Location Shower head burst water
- Wayne (3/5): - Venue and food was good Very dirty, hallways were filthy, room was alright in main areas, but they obviously never take the foot off the vac and do the edges, fluff and dust all around, had to change room after 1 night as a/c was like it had never been cleaned. Owner/manager made excuse to hard to find a cleaner. But if your taking my money, put some effort in and do a bit extra cleaning yourself or send some pub staff to do a bit, it's not that hard, just laziness.stains on some linen, freshly painted but switches and fittings are all stained from nicotine. Definitely won't be back
- Helen (4/5): Never again and Strathalbyn itself rather lacking. - Our room was clean, comfortable and tidy with breakfast provisions included. The accommodation is at the rear of the hotel itself. The hotel was extremely disappointing - dull, run down and staff rather off hand. We did not eat dinner there as planned. A glass of local white wine was a choice between $18 or $16 for a regular size glass of wine. We moved on elsewhere where we found staff friendlier and locals chatty. As to Strathalbyn itself gone seems to be all those interesting shops to be replaced by 'cheap shops'.
- Michelle (7/5): - Overall was a nice place to stay. The mattress was very uncomfortable. Could feel the springs. Both my partner and I didn’t sleep well both nights we were there.

- Edward (6/5): Good staff good meals - Easy to find , staff where excellent couldn’t do enough for you! Room needed airing strange smell in it! Air conditioner needs some attention as the front of it is broken and wouldn’t let the air out! Cleaner needs look old bread etc milk open
Air conditioner needs repairs
- Noeleen (7/5): - The noisy early morning rubbish trucks and the stairs
- Burden (10/5): Thoroughly delightful weekend stay at this hotel in a beautiful little town. - Absolutely blown away with the quality of the hotel room, cleainess, added breakfast supplies and the service from staff was excellent.
Will 100% return to this accommodation and recommend to anyone travelling to Strathalbyn.
I plan to revisit in the near future for a one night stay.

- Kay (9/5): -
- Carol (10/5): Comfortable Ambient well priced - A continental breakfast was included in the tariff which was a welcome bonus Everything was spot on
- Gayle (9/5): - Comfortable and convenient Wasn’t ready when we arrived
- Sonia (6/5): Good location, neat and tidy, needs some maintenance - Location was good. Accommodation was booked out by wedding quests so guests entering after midnight, myself included. My room was located next to 1st floor corridor to all rooms, problem was people were entering a door which constantly squeaked when opening and closing and then shut with a loud bang. Therefore I was not able to have a restful sleep. Room and bed were good but maintenance not up to date.

- Lisa (8/5): -
- Jonathan M Wade (8/5): -
- Sharyn (5/5): We came up for a wedding and the accommodation was adequate for the 2 days we were there. - Location was central in the town
Breakfast was fine
lovely restaurant downstairs There always seemed to be people out the back of the hotel near the accomodation rooms making a lot of noise and leaving their empty glasses on the stairs
our room must have been close to the kitchen, there was a lot of banging doors, I had to turn on the tv to drown it out so I could sleep
Beds/pillows hard/uncomfortable
- Christine (8/5): -
- Mateusz (8/5): -
- thomas (10/5): nice overnight stay in a quiet town - breakfast was just a breakfast box which is ok.staff good.food very good.room good size and very clean nothing
- Lindsay (9/5): - The food in the restaurant was fantastic.
- Michelle (8/5): -
- Andrea (8/5): Nice comfortable stay - Clean, comfortable
- Angela (7/5): Great place to stop for the night and very easy access to the pub lounges etc. - Great hotel for meals and drinks Rooms a little outdated but fine for a night
- David (8/5): -
- Irena (5/5): - Comfetable bed Room had a strong smell in it,when closed curtains a lot of light coming from the top still, would be nice if had a powerpoint on both sides of bed as i was sleeping by the slide door and couldnt plug my phone to use in bed
- Ethan (10/5): -
- marialangewouters (10/5): - Erg fijne kamer, van alle gemakken voorzien. Goed onderhouden en schoon.
Ze serveren heerlijk kangaroo vlees We moesten wel heel het gebouw en restaurant door om de receptie te vinden.
- Jillian (10/5): - Location, staff Nothing
- Catherine (8/5): Recommend a visit! So much to see that highlights the character and charm of the area. - Beautiful historical building set in a stunning little town full of more nineteenth century charm. Loved ordering dinner from an app in my room. Great food. A little tired accommodation but did the job.
- Sarah (9/5): Will defintely be back. Great place to stay - Great location, staff were so friendly and meal was great. Clean and comfortable rooms The shower wasn’t great, needs a new shower head
- Diane (10/5): -
- Richter (8/5): Excellent stay but bad wifi - Great location, Woolworth across street. Good size rooms that are quite clean. Internet was really bad, smart TV couldn't connect at all on the hotels own internet. Bins were emptied underneath my room by a truck at 6am.
- Sue (8/5): Enjoyable, clean and comfy - The wifi kept dropping out while watching the F1 qualify.
- Anthea (6/5): I would stay again but not in the outside rooms over winter - The hotel was very good, the food, location etc loved the fires throughout the bar and restaurant areas. The breakfast packs were good The room weren’t serviced properly daily. Staying for 5 nights l felt the sheets and towels could have been changed at lest once. The room was cold, being located over the carpark and therefore exposed to the elements on 4 sides it was hard to heat. I had to put the S/system on 30 (worked poorly)and eventually the room would warm , then lower the S/system and the room would cool quickly. Spoke to staff they just came when l’d had the heater flat out and said to turn it up. Room floor dusty and grubby around the wall edges, not vacuumed properly. Internal corridors dirty and debris on floor for day after day. Is there any underlay under the newish carpet or just cheap one which wouldn’t help to protect the room from the cold
- Tim (8/5): Great location, meal was fantastic and the room was neat, tidy and very comfortable. - Great idea with the breakfast packs. Shower Head needs attention. Room 6
- felicity (10/5): Great stay in a fantastic location. - Spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable. Exceeded expectations in amenities and the balcony was lovely. Breakfast pack and plunger coffee was a nice bonus. Beds comfortable, and the room was spacious. Would stay again and recommend.
- Mia (10/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): Comfortable, relaxing and fun! - Nice central location, lovely restaurant, comfiest bed we’ve ever had when on holiday and the spa bath was huge and relaxing! Lack of sink in the kitchenette and only 3 short glasses, no wine glasses.
- Julianne (9/5): -
- Teresa (5/5): Budget price accommodation, ok for one night. - No hot water - warm for 2 minutes then went cold.
- Giselle (9/5): Very clean, comfortable & friendly staff - Right in town, very clean & also a nice bistro
What’s not to like ?!! Need 2 coffee mugs in the room
- Hacquoil (9/5): Excellent - Breakfast, Large modern rooms. Nice and quiet. Bed was a fraction soft for my back but probably fine for most people.
- Malcolm (7/5): - Neat and tidy room, good shower, no noise, no complaints
- John (10/5): we will be back -
- Frank (8/5): Enjoyable stay would stay there again - Clean spacious very comfortable room Nothing to complain about
- Margo (7/5): -
- krystle (10/5): -
- COLIN (8/5): Perfect for a one or two night stay on the way through to the wonderful wine area of Langhorne Creek - Breakfast was basic and acceptable.
Room was a good size and clean
Staff were good and the meals in the pub were quite good.
Overall it was a pleasant stay! Nothing - all was good in lovely Strathalbyn.

- Donna (4/5): Most probably not staying again on this place - The location is good The pillows does have smell, we also smell unpleasant from outside and we are not sure where it is coming from. Our room is not advisable with senior because the room is outside with steel stairs. We are with my 74 years old mum and she is struggling to go up.
- Dene (7/5): Good value - Well located Hard to keep room cool.
- Julie (2/5): Night noise - Convenience close to everything and clean and tidy room. Nice breakfast provisions. Hard bed.
Very very noisy all through the night even early hours in morning. Banging of doors, people in stairwell being loud and unrespectful for others trying to sleep.
The noisiest place we have ever stayed therefore will not be back.
- Belinda (9/5): Safe and good food - Nice and clean It was fine
- Maria (7/5): -
- Noel (9/5): I needed accommodation and it was what I needed. Staff whom I met where good - Perfect for my needs No fault
- Janet (6/5): - Location mainly Steps outside were very steep.
Shower had a Hot water issue.
Musty smell in the room.
- Graham (7/5): - Staff were helpful Room needed a few things, eg missing lightbulbs, fridge was frosted up. Nevertheless clean and sufficiently equipped
- Margaret (9/5): - Clean and tidy Nothing
- Paul (8/5): Couples trip - This hotel is central. Room is fairly big with comfy bed. Shower is excellent. Fridge in room with kettle and toaster. Also has air con which is ok. Small breakfast is left in room but we didnt use.. free wifi but not best reception in room itself.
Nice bar and restaurant downstairs. Bar staff nice and friendly . Room was pretty clean but not spotless, walkway area upstairs outside could do with cleaning.Wifi dropped out in bedroom. Lots of stairs to take your luggage up and down. Would have liked mugs in room rather than tiny cups.
- Rosie (3/5): Uncomfortable heat wave - Impressed with blackout curtains truly amazing
Cold water jug in the fridge delicious comfy bed
Breakfast pack Noisy air conditioning whirring
Man in the next room getting home late then snoring
Multiple flies enjoying our bathroom
He amount of light coming in bathroom after lights out I swore I thought I’d left lights on . Light coming though door gaps
No bedside light and no switch on one side
Hot noisy restless should have bought ear plugs and eye mask
- Julie (8/5): -

- Daniel (8/5): - Friendly staff, great town, comfy bedding and good air conditioning Shower was disappointing, no water pressure and the temperature kept fluctuating.
Have normally had good showers there could be a problem with that room specifically.
- Shane (10/5): -
- Michael (9/5): -
- Rachel (10/5): -
- Lisa (8/5): - Spa Air conditioner could have been put on as it was a hot day
- Deborah (4/5): Very basic hotel - Good location. A description of what kind of free breakfast the guests will receive would be helpful. Didn’t like the sliding doors. Did not feel safe.
- Frank (8/5): -
- Rowan (8/5): - It was value for money and included a continental breakfast the staff were very helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. The carpark was limited and was very hard to get out of.
