Guest Reviews
- Kellie (6/5): Try for strath creek cricket pitch accomodation (the village green) - Lovely location in the valley of a thousand hills Bit run down and tired looking. Could do with a refresh. Upon arriving one of the owners came straight over to where I’d parked on the grass to unload my car, to tell me not to park there 🙄
- Amber-lee (10/5): Perfect cosy weekend away - Great property and location! Pam and John were so easy and lovely to book with and made our stay seamless!
- Christine (9/5): -
- Sunny (10/5): • “A peaceful and homely stay with lovely hosts and their three adorable dogs — Stacy, Jodi, and App - “Such a heartwarming stay. The hosts (a husband John and wife Pam) were so kind and welcoming — they offered coffee on arrival. The place was clean, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. It really felt like a home away from home. Would definitely come back!” There were no resturants for dinner near by.
- May (4/5): Farm Stay Experience - -The hosts were very welcoming and warm
-The dogs were very cuddly and friendly
- Bed is comfortable
- Fireplace inside the room
- provide slippers and bathrobes
- beautiful scenery
- can patt donkeys - Bath tub not clean and moldy on the grouts
- Hot shower time is very limited, pretty much only enough for me to shampoo my hair and the water turned cold
- The bedroom is filled with dog scents
- Not much privacy, the WC and Bathroom is not within the room, needs to walk out to Living room to access it
-Not good sound proofing, can hear guests in the kitchen chatting till late
-Tasty cooked breakfast but got dog's hair in the scrambled eggs

- Jeremy (10/5): Perfect weekend get away. Highly recommend - The room was very clean, and comfortable. We loved the fireplace especially! John the host was lovely and was very welcoming and showed us around their stunning property . The dogs were definitely the highlight of the stay, and were so gentle with our puppy. The area in general is a stunning part of Victoria, so much beauty and wildlife. It was the perfect winter weekend!

- Frances (10/5): A getaway that is just what all stressed city people should experience. - Everything about Berner B & B was fantastic. We loved being greeted by three beautiful dogs and the Donkeys were adorable. The scenery was breath taking, the property ticked all the boxes, the bed was to die for, the first time we ever had a good sleep whilst away. It was quiet, relaxing and the host, John was really lovely to engage with. We met Pam briefly and will definitely go back.
- Stephanie (10/5): A place I'll be returning to again and again. - I stayed with Pam and John and it was everything and more. I had such a long day and was expecting a longer day the next so I was aiming for a B&B that was homely, warm and comfortable to stay in between. They were so inviting from the beginning and made sure that I had everything I needed. They knew I was coming from a big job as I was travelling for work so they offered me a wine which was greatly appreciated! They also allowed me to join them for dinner which was something I didn't realise I needed. They took care of me and was extremely accommodating. The bedroom and bathroom was private and fully stocked. The bed was also very comfortable, I fell asleep straight away. I also appreciated the bath robe and slippers :) Nothing. The stay was wonderful.
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (10/5): A lovely getaway, easily accessible from Melbourne with a range of local activities to explore. - The house and property are in a lovely peaceful rural location. Our hosts Pam and John were warm and welcoming in conjunction with their beautiful Bernese mountain dogs. Our room was lovely and the bed was so comfortable. I really liked that breakfast time was flexible as this was a mini break for us and we do like a sleep in. We had a resource list of local places to shop, eat and sightsee from the hosts also. We had lovely dinners at the Country Club and Peppercorn hotel and visited the Sedona estate winery after sampling some Rose' at dinner. We could have stayed longer.
- Kristie-lee (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely a wonderful experience, with beautiful views & welcoming hosts.
Taking donkey's for a walk, truly a must for anyone.
Accommodation was comfortable with exquisite art & furniture design.
Breakfast was delicious.
Look forward to going back.

- Ruth (10/5): An Unforgettable Stay at Halls on Falls Homestead! Absolute Perfection! - We stayed at this beautiful accommodation for a relaxing weekend away with our family, including 8 adults, 5 kids and of course our dog, Miley. 😊
Stringybark and Hillview were nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality by the incredible hosts Pam and John, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable.
The homestead itself is stunning, blending rustic charm with modern comfort. The attention to detail in the décor, the cozy furnishings, and the well-equipped amenities made it feel like a true home away from home. Whether relaxing by the pool and having a swim, enjoying the peaceful surroundings, or taking in the breathtaking views, every moment was pure bliss.
My particular favourite was getting to socialise with the beautiful animals on the property, getting lots of love from their gorgeous dogs, donkeys, and Highland cows.
The amenities were top-notch, a fully equipped kitchen, spacious and beautiful rooms, with all linen provided which was an added bonus! The outdoor spaces were just as impressive, with beautiful gardens, scenic walking trails, and plenty of wildlife creating a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
The hosts Pam & John were the genuine highlight of our stay. Their kindness, attention to detail, and passion for creating a welcoming retreat truly set this place apart. They were always available if needed, offering great recommendations for surrounding areas, and ensuring every aspect of our visit was perfect.
If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature, incredible hospitality, and a beautifully maintained homestead, Halls on Falls Homestead is the ultimate destination. We can't wait to return! A 10/10 experience that we highly recommend! 😊 Nothing, everything was perfect! 🥰
- Kylie (9/5): Very clean and cosy with everything we needed. The property had a lot of character and charm. Loved the dogs and animals - Very clean and cosy with everything we needed. The property had a lot of character and charm. Loved the dogs and animals. John was fantastic with the kids when they helped him to feed the animals. Loved the indoor fireplace and the fire pit outside. We couldn’t get the oven to work.
- Grant (10/5): Great fun. Engaging hosts. - Very friendly hosts. Good conversation before retiring for the night.
We gave the hosts very little notice of our impending arrival and they still did all they could to accommodate us.
- Findlay (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly hosts. House was very clean. Gorgeous views of the hills
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional - the hosts were wonderful, kind and accommodating. Their 3 beautiful dogs were an added bonus to be around.
- Shalani (9/5): Superb -
- Punit (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paola (10/5): We stopped by with my friends and the place is very comfortable and cozy. The next day we were able to see the animals a - Me encantó el lugar ❤️❤️ I love it!
- Whatho (9/5): A thoroughly enjoyable stay on a scenic property we'd be glad to return to (in warmer months). - This farmstead offered my group a much-desired space to explore mindfulness and conscious connections. We were able to stargaze, climb a nearby hill, and enjoy warm, comfortable rooms all at ready convenience. The houses were a little cold but that problem was mitigated with log fires, plenty of hot drinks and the extra bedding provided. Thankful to the hosts for being so kind and generous where it came to check-out and providing amenities. Would certainly consider coming back again. There was nothing disagreeable about this property, aside from the unavoidable fact that the outdoor pool is closed over the winter months (it cannot be heated). It does require a steady supply of logs to feed the hearths though, if the rooms are to be heated without the AC split system.
- Duniam (10/5): Exceptional - Utterly delightful home in a gorgeous setting. Pam could not have been more hospitable. Absolutely wonderful and will certainly return. Thanks Pam!
- Jake (8/5): Very good -
- Huijuan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (7/5): Lovely Farmstay - Lovely farm style accommodation. Loved sitting on the front porch and using the private woodfire. Very welcoming hosts. Will want to be accepting of three large Bernese dogs close contact, noise at night, and hound aroma permeating the living areas. Lack of privacy and sound proofing due to the bedrooms poorly sealed entry door and undersized venetians exposed to the hosts living spaces.
- Chris (10/5): A brilliant country retreat on a beutiful property. - A fantastic property offering a real break in the country. Hosts were brilliant, the property had everything you needed and I couldn't reccomend this enough. A lovely way to surround yourself with nature.
- Theresa (10/5): comfortable & welcoming - I booked this accommodation for my sister who needed to attend a function near by and the hosts went above & beyond to make her feel welcome and help her
She said the hosts were wonderful and the breakfast was delightful and that she would love to visit again
- Niko (8/5): Nice place for quick break. - Great wood heater. Animals for kids to feed and pat. N/a
- Salsabila (9/5): Nice short getaway - The room is very cozy, clean, and homey. The host are very kind and friendly. We brought our little puppy and they're very welcome. Little bit far from shops.
- Candyce (10/5): Amazing, fabulous, stunning - a place to relax and unwind - Gorgeous location, well set out accommodation, good communication, lovely hosts and incredibly fog and family friendly. A perfect place to relax and unwind alone, with a partner, kids, family friends and your furry friends. Well equipped, modern amenities. Really loved the general store in Strath Creek and the local markets. Can’t wait to return. Nothing, absolutely nothing.
- Ashley (10/5): Luxuries of a hotel with a homely feel - Our stay at Pam and John’s Bed and Breakfast was amazing. They are great hosts and made us feel very welcome, along with their three beautiful Bernese mountain dogs.
The bedroom had everything you needed and what would be expected in a hotel rather than a B&B (including bathrobes and slippers!). The room is at the other end of the house from Pam and John so you have your privacy and the bathroom was just down the hall. They provided lots of ideas on where to go in the area for food / drink and exploring. We tried one of the suggestions in Flowerdale and it did not disappoint.
It was so tranquil and the views across the fields are so pretty it was exactly the night away from the city we wanted. The breakfast was delicious, which we decided to eat out on the deck in the morning sun, and was a perfect end to the stay. I highly recommend and would definitely go back. Nothing.
- Maria (10/5): Beatiful stay with amazing views and very friendly hosts - Absolutely recommend this stay if you want to escape into the tranquility of nature just 90 minutes away from Melbourne city.
Pam and John are the kindest and most amazing hosts you could ask for. We were thoroughly looked after, I’d even say pampered.
And the best part of the stay is that we met these three majestic Bernese Mountain dogs who welcomed our golden retriever into their pack, and our dog absolutely had the time of his life. This was the most dog-friendly place we have been to! Nothing, all was great!
- Nikhil (9/5): Superb -
- Janice (10/5): P.E.R.F.E.C.T - Serene and peaceful along with wonderful hosts and their trusty side kicks, 3 Bernese dogs and 3 Highland cows. Everything was what we hoped for and beyond!
- Shelley (9/5): Superb -
- Martin (9/5): Wonderful location, great family time and really nice owners. -
- James (10/5): A relaxing weekend surrounded by wonderful Strath Creek scenery - We loved our stay at Halls on Falls! Pam and John were wonderful hosts, welcoming us to the property, inviting us to feed the highland cows and meet their dogs, and popping by with some homemade nectarine jam on our last day. Quiet, rural surrounds in Strath Creek, fields and trees, a barbecue for guests and an outdoor pool for hot summer afternoons. A short drive into town and the new general store, The General. The Kerrisdale Mountain Railway is also nearby with rides on Sundays at 11am and midday. A perfect weekend away with our toddler!
- Jocelyne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sebastian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicole (9/5): Superb -
- Suchira (9/5): Superb -
- Jenny (9/5): Awesome, highly recommended - Beautiful view, comfortable, have stuff needed
- Tamara1512 (10/5): Great stay - The house was lovely for a country getaway. Very spacious and had a nice outdoor area.
- Sohini (10/5): Exceptional - The location and the hospitality was just amazing. This place is so Beautiful and the most thoughtful off grid properties we have spent our weekend.
Pam & John are extremely kind and lovely couple. The farm is gorgeous and the animals are very friendly. Our pet loved it and our friends and their kids enjoyed it to the fullest.
We totally enjoyed the stay....we just sat and watched the clouds move through the mountains around us while the world around us with kids, pets and parents were running crazy !! Simply the best time to unwind.
Highly recommended and must visit homestead to unwind. There was nothing not to like
- Verified traveler (10/5): Serenity +++++ - Most amazing place to stay. All facilities that you need, quite rural setting with only the animals to disturb. No racing, noisy traffic just sheer tranquility. The cottage was clean and beautifully presented, better than the photo's.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not Good for the Family in Cold Seasons - It is a nice place, however we only stayed there for one hour as we discovered a few major issues. House does not have central heating, rooms are cold and only electric blanket suppose to keep you warm. Curtains all around the house are see through and provide zero privacy. Also there was no freezer, just a fridge.
