Guest Reviews
- Rogelio (10/5): - You get what you pay for, descent for backpackers like myself the sheets on the bed could be cleaner
- Euan (4/5): - There were stains on the bed toilet and was horrible
- Francis S Gutta (6/5): - The owners were willing to let me pay for nice room when one i bought was dank.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owner of the lodge is very accommodating. The standard room is very cheap and it has complete amenities. There are some part of the room that has dust but this is just a minor issue for a $5 room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Don’t expect too much for the lower price but for one night is just okay :) staff is super friendly
- garyarthurwilliamm (4/5): Screaming kids - My advice would be to only book 1 night and see how it goes. A local family so it comes with young children lol, so if you like noise in the mornings this is the place, after visiting Asia for 10 yrs I've been in alot better for the price so shop around. Close to amenities, beach etc but so are alot of others too. The cleaner is a good guy, little English but all in all good.
Only concern was kids and chickens.
I would not stay here again or recommend,
- Chin (6/5): - I moved from standard to a bigger room, and it was good. The staff is friendly.
- Martins (2/5): Dirty - Dirty place. Never again.
- allen (6/5): Pay for upgrade room - As lve told Hotel.com before,,the photos of rooms yoj show are not the rooms you get unless you upgrade
Please correct this issue
- Robert (2/5): If you want get sick, book a room there!! - We Not stay there half of the Room molding!!
- allen (2/5): Book room in photo,,for westerners - Having booked for dept n arrival in Bali,,l paid extra to go into AC room on dept,,but just normal room arriving at 2am
The rooms are for local Indos,,paying by the month,,so hot,,no window,,n small fan
Unable to sleep,,left at 6am
Have already informed Hotel.com that the rooms they show are not the rooms you get,,and that the cheaper rooms should not be on your site
Im already booked here for May,,but unable to cancel
- Thilak (2/5): - Roof and walls covered with black fungus .
- Warren (10/5): Great place to stay - Great place to stay, I upgraded and have good AC, Hot Water, big bed it's nice and central and huge room.
The place is back off the road and is nice and quite on the 2nd floor.
- traveller (2/5): noisy, annoying - I could not sleep at night, very noisy, there were worms in the bathroom, no air conditioning, only a terrible noisy fan.
- Will (2/5): Do NOT stay here - Do not stay here. We booked this hotel after seeing the pictures, and it looked reasonable enough. We arrived to a terrible, hot and tiny room with no toilet roll, no sink to wash hands, no bed sheets, broken shower, no toiletries, no city and totally different from advertised. When speaking with them, they were unwilling to let us move to a room with the amenities described without charging us 100,000 more.
- Leonard (4/5): very basic - The Standard rooms are very poor condition. No wash basin in the bathroom. Water from shower does not drain away as floor slopes the wrong way. No toilet paper. No shower head, just a hose.
No sheet or blanket to cover you. When we asked we were given sari's to use as a sheet.
Because our flight was arriving late I made a special request and asked for an airport transfer. It was ignored. When I rang to ask they hung up on me.
The Superior rooms or whatever they are called are newer and bigger so maybe they are OK.
I would not stay there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place and very good service :) - I needed a place to stay for one night. Got to the airport really late. Even though it didn't had 24/7 service, they let me in my room in the middle of the night (I had to woke up the boss for that). Room was small, bed was semi-comfortable, it can always be better. But the price I paid was not much at all. One thing, that really annoyed me, was that there was no blanket. It would have been ok, but it was too hot to sleep without the air-conditioner, but the conditioner blew on me all the time. So just even a plain bed sheet would have been nice. Not a luxurious place, but actually livable for couple of nights. :)
- Diane (6/5): You get what you paid for - Great location(beach, Lippo Mall, transportation etc,), friendly staff, low cost. I was upgraded to a Deluxe room which was reasonable give that i only paid about US$11 per night for a standard room.
- charliecolter (2/5): Haha. What an intro to Bali. - I wrote the hotel to let them know i would be a day late.. no response. I walk there from the airport (it is close) and noone is around. I finally find someone and he speaks no english.. it was tough to explain that i had already payed online. I was taken to my room, which was a shack next to the building that you will see pictures of online. It was big enough for the bed. The fan worked. No wifi which i payed for. There was no breakfast which i payed for. There was a wifi signal but the guy kept telling me no wifi no wifi. Bathroom was a toilet and a shower head. Thats it. All in all it was crap. I have stayed in worse but payed much less as well. I just needed to sleep...get up... and leave..so i didnt care much. Oh .. i did go for a walk in the morning to kuta beach which is where i took the attached pic..
- Andrew (8/5): The hotel is quiet, clean and shady. - I enjoyed staying here. It is quiet, clean, and friendly.
- Molly (6/5): Basic room but good location - We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. The room is very basic with a double bed, fan and small table. The bathroom only had a toilet and shower (which didn't have a hook so you had to hold it in your hand) there was no sink or mirror in the bathroom.
The location of this homestay is really good! Its just a short walk from all the bars, restaurants, markets and the beach and there's not much noise as you're not on the main street.
Woukd reccomend this to travellers!
- Pam (2/5): Terrible experience.. - I was looking to stay in a budget homestay close to Kuta and Legian. I was not looking for luxury, just somewhere clean, cheap and convenient. When I arrived at the homestay I was met by the owner. At first sight the room looked ok until I opened the bathroom door to met by an overwhelming smell of urine coming up the drain. I was unable to shower in my bathroom at all. The general cleanliness of the rest of the room was also very ordinary and apparently it was unreasonable to ask for a clean towel after 5 days. The owners of the homestay kept a large dog confined to a cage and as an animal lover I found it very distressing hearing him bark day and night, not even being let out of the cage to clean it but hosing the cage out with the dog still inside. They refused to listen to our offers to help with rehoming the dog to a more suitable environment, telling us that he was "security". The last straw was when I watched a woman and man arrive without luggage, hand over some cash and then enter a room, leaving an hour later.
- 732lukeg (8/5): comfy rooms, super location - I only stayed at Swandewi Homestay for one night and had a really good experience! The location is fantastic; right next to the new mall (which has a big supermarket downstairs, many shops and a starbucks), super close to the airport and a 5min walk to the beach! Rooms are very spacious, modern and clean, great hot water/AC/wifi/TV. Big comfy beds and clean towels. Quiet area. Owners and staff were all super friendly and welcoming. All in all, super value for money, comfy rooms and great location!
- I-am-amy-nz (8/5): Nice place to stay - Friendly people running the place, and let me check out late the next day for a flight. I only stayed one night for a stopover, super close to the airport, walking distance! Close to shopping and restaurants and beach. Was a bit loud during the night with dogs barking and motorbikes coming and going. Good place for a night or two
- NusaVeber (8/5): good value for price - We stayed here for two days. Location is ok, very close to the beach but 15- 20 min walking distance to centre. Owner is very friendly and helpful.
The room is nice, very big and clean.
I would recommend this homestay to anyone. Best value for price.
- NeelaKaren (10/5): Best Place to stay in Kuta!! - I stayed here with a friend of mine in Decembre for over a week and we enjoyed it so much!!
The Homestay is located near the new Lippo Mall with a lots of shops and a huge supermarket with everything.
It's a 5 minutes walking distance to the beach, and there are a lot of places where you can go and eat something.
The owner is soo friendly, always smiling and willing to help and in a relaxing mood!
There is a place directly next to the homestay where you can give your laundry!
On the road there are a few places where you can rent a motorbike for 40-50 Ruphia!
It's not direcly located in the centre where all the clubs are, but i enjoyed that.
If you want to go clubbing, you got the opportunitie and easily can take a cheap taxi.
During the day it's easy to get around by motorbike.
But SwanDewis Homestay is also giving you a place to relax and enjoy.
Thanks so much for making our stay in busy Kuta wonderfull!
