Guest Reviews
- Sarah (8/5): Close to town, very comfortable and great view and - Great view from our spacious room and the most comfortable bed we slept in over our many motel stays over many years! Close to main road but little traffic sound!
- Susan (8/5): - Good location. Nice cafe next door & our dog could stay.
- Jillian (9/5): - Riverside tables etc Room adjoined kitchen/reception. Woken at 6am to pots and crockery rattling. Also woken during night to ringing telephone in reception. Any other room would have made the stay fantastic.
- Julie (8/5): Don’t judge it from the road — the river and valley views are spectacular. - A surprise gem on Tweed Valley Way. While the exterior may appear a little dated at first glance, our upstairs motel room (well worth the extra $) completely exceeded expectations. The room overlooked the beautiful Tweed River and valley, offering spectacular scenic views that made our stay truly relaxing and memorable.
The king size bed was an especially welcome surprise — extremely comfortable and perfect for a great night’s sleep. Although the bathrooms are older in style, they were very clean and featured excellent hot water pressure in the shower.
The staff were friendly, welcoming, and very informative about the local area. We also appreciated the bonus complimentary continental breakfast, which added great value to our stay. Everything was great.

- Angela (9/5): Lovely river view and complimentary breaky was a lovely extra, and unexpected but appreciated - Location - Love that it is on the river and we were able to take our small dog. It’s old, but clean and we appreciated being able to take our dog.
- Grant (8/5): A good value stay in Murwillumbah - The motel was a reasonable price and included a simple continental breakfast of cereal and toast. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. Once we worked out the shower it was very good. The room included a mini bar which I thought was reasonable priced with a beer costing $5.00 Nothing
- Delys (9/5): - Breakfast was ok.
- Glenda (8/5): Really surprise about the beautiful location and how much we loved staying there. - We stayed there unexpectedly due to my grandson being sick and us needing to be close by. The staff were beautiful and the shower spray was very strong, which I loved. it was definitely great value for money and my husband said he really loved the bed it was soft and for me who has psoriasis found the cotton sheet very nice. It even had a desk which was great as I needed to work also. the suite is tiled but it would be great to have a small rug
- Julie (6/5): As a cheap clean alternative to up market accommodation, it provided what I needed - The owner/manager was very polite and helpful. The designated area for smokers was not what I would call safe for women at all. Two other men who were staying there continuously watched and waited for me and my daughter. I felt quite unsafe.
- DOUGLAS (8/5): - Location. Get a room with water views.

- Silla (8/5): Great pit stop on the river with a wonderful view - A great pit stop. Seafood cafe next door and a petrol station. Easy hotel. Simple and straightforward. Lovely view of the river!! Clean and tidy. It can be a little noisy.

- Ben (8/5): Great Budget Motel on the River - Nice, big room. Big double bed. Very new & clean bathroom. Terrific view of the river from my balcony.

- Bonita (6/5): It would have been beautiful in the 70s, like me. - The setting and customer service was wonderful. The room looked and smelt like it came out of the 70. It was very musty. An having to pay twice as much as the room the night before which was update with all the amenities I could think of, it was a bit of a let down.
- Ian (9/5): - Being on the river is beautiful. The owners were wonderful. The memorabilia was amazing Pool is a bit tired.
- Katherine (9/5): - Great value for an overnight stay, rooms were spotlessly clean and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
- anagram2002 (10/5): Great location - Waterfront room with views, complimentary breakfast, easy cycle to rail trail start, access to river for SUP.

- Janine (10/5): - The friendliness of the owner, Bob. Lovely person. We were on the first floor overlooking the river. Stairs are always difficult for me but I managed.
- Heidi (10/5): All in all it was a good place to stay. - A free breakfast, clean pool and most facilities were great. The fan in the room was noisy and the shower squeaked.
- Dharmesh (8/5): -
- Paul (1/5): Buy some cleaning g supplies - The view to the river was very good. Mould and bugs all over the bathroom and shower, we didn't want to shower it had mould, got in anyway and there was bugs coming out of all the broken grout. Went out on the balcony to enjoy the view and all the floor was moving the tiles are all loose. Pool was green. Definitely not 3 star. Been in accommodation before were its not modern but there is no reason for mould, bugs and didn't feel safe on the balcony. To top it all off. Not even a smart tv. Didn't get pics of inside shower that was the worst

- Anne (9/5): Lovely outlook of the river - Great location, comfortable bed and friendly staff and a lovely view of the river. A little on the older side, but clean and comfortable

- Sanel (7/5): Good location, clean, needs couple of improvements from managers/owners - We liked location of the property, as it was right on the river. Room was clean and tidy, beds, pillows were comfortable. Bathroom was good. It was quiet for most of the time. The room was ok value for money, the sink in kitchenette is used as bathroom vanity FYI. We were hoping for pool to be available, as it stated on website, however, it had a lovely, non-inviting green colour. Advertising on website and signs around property, as well as dedicated smoking area, suggests non-smoking facilities, however, upon confirming with owner, I was told that people can smoke around and outside the building. Nice....NOT! On Saturday night we had very noisy people above us until after midnight, so early sleep went out the door. The owners live at property, and by the noise level, I'm sure they would have heard it.
- Steve (9/5): Superbly clean and comfortable with friendly welcoming staff. - Friendly and welcoming reception upon arrival with relevant information shared immediately. Super comfortable roof and bed with a modern very well cleaned ensuite bathroom. Good amenities in room allowing for a comfortable stay.
- Clinton (9/5): We will definitely be back and stay longer. - The room we had was 30 metres from the Tweed river, being about to watch the boats in the morning was lovely. Couldn’t fault it.
- Marlies (7/5): Affordable for an overnight stay. - Staff very friendly. Had cable channels. Bed was comfortable Very old
- sean (10/5): A hidden treasure - Don’t know it was there so was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Good clean rooms. Comfy bed. Quiet. Free breaky! Nothing.
- Maria (8/5): - Trevligt och prisvärt
- David (8/5): -
- Bob (9/5): Down for a few days cycling, handy to Town & the Rail trail, a pretty good area for cycling - Most comfortable, friendly owners, great location Nil
- Kei (1/5): 0 Stars - Host Enters Rooms and Removes Belongings - Leaving Be aware: this host entered my private room and removed my belongings without my knowledge or consent.
After returning from a trip from town, I later found out it was because certain wipes were "not allowed." Instead of communicating like any reasonable host would, he accessed my room and took them. There was no prior discussion, no emergency, and no clear signage explaining any restriction.
As someone who is pregnant, this experience was extremely distressing and made me feel unsafe staying there. I felt unbelievably violated that someone had gone through my things without my consent and decided to remove them.
I also explained to Bob, the host, that I had not actually used the flushable wipes yet and the antibacterial wipes were only ever thrown in the bin, which the cleaner (who didn't actually clean anything or change towels/bedding etc) or himself would have been able to see - plus I needed those wipes to clean surfaces etc since hygiene is paramount especially in my condition. (Plus this Motel is pretty dingy and some of the demographic seem like substance abusers)
Regardless - This is not about wipes. This is about boundaries and guest safety.
When you book a private room, you expect privacy.
You do not expect the host to enter and confiscate your personal items. That is a serious breach of trust, not to mention, legally questionable.
I have never experienced anything like this in all my years of travel. I would absolutely not stay here again and would urge others to think carefully before booking if privacy matters to you.
- Mark (7/5): - Great view from family room of river. Quiet corner of motel. Beds were ok/good. Room needs to be repainted. Needs a proper clean from top to bottom. Outdated and uncomfortable furniture.
- Marilyn (8/5): Very comfortable and clean. Complimentary breakfast a fantastic idea - Property very clean
- Haylee (7/5): -
- Patricia (10/5): Will book here again. - Breakfast was unexpected & vey welcome. Rom was veryy clean & comfortable. Location very good & quiet
- Jane (8/5): What a lovely stay! For a budget motel we didn’t expect much but were pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly an - Location
- Andy (7/5): Small friendly motel in great location - Easily accessible location with a quaint little Chinese restaurant a block and a bit away. Steve was very friendly and made a point of checking the room before we moved in. No bath mat to step on when exiting the shower - in fairness Steve said to ask for anything else we needed but we didn’t realise until after the office had closed
- Derek (1/5): - Nothing, i walked out Everything, i did not stay there. It was very dirty smelly and very old furniture abd bedding. I janded key back in and lefy. A REFUND IS NEEDED.
- Kim (10/5): - Love the location, room looked straight onto the river, loved watching the bird life.
- Christine (8/5): Considering what the motel has been through the last few years it was good. - Surprised that cereal juice toast and coffee were available and included. Lovely looking out over the river while having breakfast. Nothing
- Brenda (8/5): Great option for dog friendly rooms - Loved that it was dog friendly, and that the rooms were nicely appointed which can be rare for dog friendly rooms. (Call ahead to confirm if you are bringing dog). Pricing very fair too.
Bed was comfy, great supply of crockery, appliances, and cleaning stuff. Room was also clean. We didn't try it but there was a popular seafood takeaway next door with a back deck overlooking the river. Liked the grassed area bordering the river, a great place to sit with a book and take in the scene. We had a car so location was fine for us, but it is out of town a fair way.
Did have one swim in the pool but it was quite cloudy and lots of bugs floating in top, put me off.
- West (7/5): -
- Sheryl (5/5): Very quiet and had a great night sleep. - While it is a bit out of town it is right on the river with lovely views of it. Seemed a little bit more run down than last time I was there.
- Salanieta (8/5): -
- Heath (10/5): -
- Diana (9/5): - River view and balcony. Very quiet. Clean and tidy People smoking next door
- Amie (8/5): -
- Graham (8/5): It was an excellent location and beautifully quiet - Quiet, great view of River and free breakfast
- Helen (8/5): Clean comfortable room, everything we needed - Was nice to be able to have a tea and coffee and toast before we headed off We were very happy with our stay. Next time we will try and book a room facing the river
- Leisl (8/5): -
- MARK (6/5): The price should be no higher than $120 per night considering the lack of water pressure in the shower and the uncomfort - Nice view from the balcony over the river. Water pressure in the shower was extremely poor and was affected greatly by other rooms use of the water.
The king size bed was two singles placed together however there was a big ridge in the middle making it incredibly uncomfortable to sleep as a couple
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- Wayne (1/5): For $150 a night I expected more. I don’t want to run down someone’s business. But it was only worth $80 max. For the - Jug of milk, bed was great Ns welcoming owner. Cockroaches, silver fish, earwigs and ants.
- Sandi (9/5): Very confortable - Location was excellent and it was very comfortable and clean. Will stay there again. No shampoo although that didn’t worry me as I had my own.
- Denise (10/5): -
- David (8/5): -
- Teasdell (8/5): I'm happy - Location Bottle store next door
- Richard (7/5): -
- Scott (5/5): Passable but wouldn’t stay again unless I couldn’t get anywhere else. - The location is great, right on the river and close to where I needed to be. The mattress was super soft yet the pillows hard. Made for an uncomfortable sleep. The complimentary coffee is International Roast which is a poor mans coffee. The toilet paper was super thin and cheap. The water pressure in the shower is really low making it hard to clean everywhere. The battery in the aircon remote is just about dead and so couldn’t use the aircon except at it’s pre set temperature of 30’. Also, there’s a sign saying if you leave any dirty electrical appliance’s there’s a $30 cleaning fee???
- Sharon (10/5): Highly recommend, Friendly, comfortable & clean also amazing views of river. - This motel has a relaxed friendly atmosphere.
- Anne (8/5): -
- Debbie (8/5): Very good nice place to stay - Great location on the river very peaceful Nothing really but maybe they need to have disability aids in bathroom ie. grab rails & non slip mats
- Leonardo (7/5): - Semplice motel, con un bel prato che dà sul fiume
- Peter (8/5): -
- Leah (9/5): Relaxed - The views
- Roger (8/5): Great visit - Surprisingly com No ice maker.
AC was a little slow.
- Steve (7/5): -
- Qazi (7/5): - Beautiful views and activity area with the river. Small pantry.
- Wayne (9/5): Unexpected gem for the dog loving family - Family and dog.friendly....right on the river, which was great to.SUP on. Has a pool and.adequate breakfast for the price. 25 mins to Gold Coast Having to leave...and forgeting that the most excellent pizza/fish n chip shop.next door closes early.
- Sian (9/5): We had a lovely few days. The dogs loved the big grassy lawn by the river. - We loved the dog friendly attitude and the beautiful location. The bathroom could be updated a bit.
- Tomas (10/5): -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Quiet, relaxing, GREAT location thank you - Love the view on the river N/A

She was fabulous !!
- Katrina (5/5): Was overpriced for what it was - Bed comfy Some 🪳 living in the kettle base
