- xuezheng (10/5): Amazing stay - Its clean, bed is comfortable . Bathroom is bit small for family of 4. Its a amazing stay with farm experience and kids like the horse riding.

We needed to make up the beds for the children, which would have been good to have them made, and only 3 towels were provided for the 4 of us. There was no grater in the kitchen, but it was otherwise adequately stocked. It is in an excellent location- close to all the attractions on the Tasman Peninsula.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely characterful cottage. The shower was a challenge, very small and no water pressure but the bed was very comfortable.
- Anthony (6/5): - The cabin was basic but OK and suited or needs. We had 8 which was a little tight, would suite 6 with more comfort but we weren't to fussed. The owners seemed nice and wanted to ensure it was a comfortable stay, which is was but for a few minor things, but it was good place to rest the head for a night . I believe the owners, who have only recently taken over, wish to improve the imagine and quality so hope to see it improve in time.
- Anne (8/5): Great little Shack - The cottage was really good for a family or small group and is well located close to a number of attractions around the Port Arthur area.
- wendy (4/5): Below average - Room stunk, dirty fireplace, stove top did not work, fridge not cold, flies as no fly screen on door, sheets obviously old. Surround not tidy, long grass and snakes looking.

- Anthony (10/5): Brilliant family cottage - We booked the Stationmasters Cottage for our trip to the Tasman Peninsula. What a great place to stay. Very cosy with an old world feeling and a lovely log fire in the living room. Everything you could ask for and a great place to base yourself and explore everything the region has to offer.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect venue and helpful staff. - Great staff who had made specific notes about our interests in the area to suggest detailed and interesting activities when we arrived. We loved our two nights and the relaxed atmosphere. Beautiful location and perfectly central to the peninsula. However, we thought it a bit intrusive to have our self-contained accommodation (for two nights) entered into while we were out for the day and all powerpoints turned off (eg bedside lamps, which weren't on). This included the powerpoint for my battery charger, which was on. The garbage was also emptied - perhaps it was garbage day and they wanted to minimise accumulations during the week? The place is up for sale. I hope the new owners are just as good, as we would love to return to this part of the world.

- Karina (10/5): Lovely rustic cottage in the trees. - My husband, 12 year old son and I stayed at Taranna Cottages after a long day exploring Port Arthur Historic Site (which is a remarkable place to visit). We were warmly greeted on arrival by Colin, Marge and Patch (super-friendly dog). Colin inspired us to look around the local area a bit more and we are so glad we did. On the following day, we visited Remarkable Cave (which we loved - the surrounding area and the bays you pass along the way are also gorgeous and we made a few impromptu stops in order to soak up the views or walk on a beach), the Coal Mines Historic Site (most interesting), Tasman Arch, The Devil's Kitchen, the Blowhole and Eaglehawk Neck, before continuing on to Oatlands & Ross. Upon reflection, we would have been happy to stay a few more nights at Taranna Cottages and used it as base to explore more of the Peninsula (including its walking tracks). About the cottage - super comfortable and private with a well equipped kitchen (including mini-oven and plenty of crockery/cutlery, etc). The bathroom, while narrow, is perfectly formed. Lovely queen-bed in separate bedroom with plenty of pillows. Two sofa-beds in living room plus awesome fireplace. Visits from local pademelons. We loved it - very cosy and with a warm and friendly feel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely bushland location - We needed a place with 2 bedrooms and were very pleasantly surprised with the lovely self-contained old-fashioned cottage (but with modern amenities) with lovely views into the bush. As it was summer we did not need to use the large open fireplace. The fireplace for us was the only negative as it created a very strong smell throughout the cottage, possibly as it still had a big pile of ash in it.
- Scott (10/5): Fantastic - We stayed at Taranna Cottages for one night. Our plans to do a wild seal encounter had been cancelled at the last minute due to poor weather, but Marje was very helpful in recommending some alternative things to do nearby. We ended up going to Port Arthur and doing a ghost tour in the evening. Reception at Taranna can arrange prepaid tickets to Port Arthur which was a great help as the regular ticket queue was over 100 people long when we arrived. The cottage accommodation was basic but comfortable, and the surrounding wilderness very beautiful. Take care driving after sunset as we saw dozens of wallabies running around the property.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cottage Diappointment - We booked for 4 people the website VERY misleading saying 1 queen and 2 sofa beds unfortunately that was NOT the case it was two small day which you could not sleep on when I spoke to them and asked if another room available I was told I should of had a different cottage that could sleep up to 8 well they are the ones who made the arrangnements for the cottages to knowledge the people that were in that cottage was only a couple, surely that could have been swappef around.Although the owners were helpful getting 2 extra disgusting matresses which were placed on the floor not even made up. I didn't book for 4 people for 2 to sleep on the floor NO compensation was offered for this.

- Chi Man Flora (10/5): Countryside cottages near port arthur - The hosts and their dog were very kind and welcoming. The cottages are 5-10 minutes drive from Port Arthur. The cottage was very clean. I like the countryside atmosphere and saw a few animals around the cottages after dark. The only negative point for me was the shower was not strong.

I think this would suit a couple, especially in the winter with a fire in the fireplace. The day beds were a little small for an adult to sleep on but the main bed was great.
