- sallysW2494CC (2/5): Looking for a nice, well-priced room in Ocean Grove? Keep searching because this isn’t it! - Upon arrival at this outdated establishment we were underwhelmed to say the least. The proprietor doesn’t bother to greet his guests, check in was enabled by a text advising of the room number. We were bemused by the proprietor stating that “Sorry but due to the covid still lingering we aren't able to offer room servicing as we need to protect our staff from potential infection and keep the Motel operational and honor future guest bookings” worried about Covid in 2026… 😂 really? Just an excuse to provide as little customer service as possible while charging exorbitant prices. The room itself was tiny, decrepit and in desperate need of repair. At the outrageous price of $410 for 2 nights you can understand our disappointment. The room was so basic it would have been too expensive at $60 a night. The outdoor pool and spa looked amazing on the website, however both the pool and spa were freezing cold on a 26c day, with no ability to turn on the jets in the spa. The sliding glass door to enter the room was extremely heavy with a temperamental lock, the bed lumpy and uncomfortable, the shower was over a tiny hip bath with cracked and aging tiles. Ants and cockroaches were found inside the room. I would not stay here again under any circumstances.
- Road09389856330 (8/5): Brilliant budget getaway! - Needed a place to stay while moving house and the Boat Ramp Motel fit the bill. Very reasonably priced, basic but comfortable accommodation and a pool and BBQ area. Very friendly and casual owner. Not a place for a luxurious stay but a for a budget beach getaway, definitely! Centrally located and walking distance to a cafe.

- john (4/5): Stay elsewhere for service - Only here for 1 night. All ok until around 8.30pm. POWER FAILURE to all of the motel only. Got a brief message from the ppty owner that problem is being attended to. We were in absolute and total darkness as our phones had run out of power and unable to charge. Not able to get light from our phones - 3 phones all together!!!!! Power was out until around 12.30midnight!. No one offered us a candle a torch or anything else despite contacting the owners several times. Understand issues happen but total inaction towards the clients is very unacceptable.

- WayneD1690 (10/5): Perfect spot to park the boat or work trailer, safe parking - We stay here for our early start fishing trips, it’s all neat and tidy with plenty of room to park the boat or work trailer. It’s been here for a while so don’t expect everything to be shiny new. The prices are pretty good for this area there seem to be a few tradies and workers who stay here from time to time. Friendly staff who are onsite most of the time, a very safe place to park boats or work vehicles

- sallywX5065BR (4/5): Needs an upgrade - The location of the hotel was good and the owner easy to contact by phone, no one was available at reception while we were there. The bed was clean but soft and uncomfortable. The room was outdated with stains on the floor, sticky blinds ( possibly food? ) no sheer curtains for privacy and a noisy aircon that worked well. The spa didn't look anything like the website ( neither did the beds for that matter ) but the pool was maintained and clean. We ended up leaving after the first night and I have no idea if the owner even knew or cared? This hotel has an immense amount of potential and I hope they take the time to update and rearrange the rooms to create a better experience for guests.
- Fay (10/5): A nice stay. - We've stayed at the Boat Ramp Motel a few times. The rooms are always spotless and the staff always friendly. There is a kettle and toaster in the room, some crockery and cutlery to use and the fridge has a small freezer. WiFi is available. All basic needs are catered for. We haven't used the pool but it looks very nice.

It was very wet & the yard was full of potholes full of water but was dried up by the time that I left the next morning. I would highly recommend this motel anytime.

- K835COmuratc (2/5): Terrible experience - Places do not go here as the room smelt like moist and it was very noticeable my wife didn't want to stay as the room was very cold also to heater wasn't working properly we went out to buy some food and left the heater on and still it was very cold and when we first arrived at the motel the tvs remote was not working called the guy up to report it he mad me go to another room to get another remote which was inconvenient we didn't stay only stayed a couple of hours which we booked for 2days I asked for a days refund which he didn't accept like I said please don't go there there are way better and cheaper alternatives cheers

"Too bad, he said" He clearly didn't care one bit. I don't see how it could have been any bother to him to accommodate us at another time. Very Poor.

The heater was put on prior to our arrival, which was lovely considering it was quite a cold day. Exactly what we were looking for, for a quick stopover. Friendly operator

- Ulrike (8/5): Charming - today - The place was charming old, 70‘ but the bathroom all new, very comfortable beds, sheets and towels today good standard, directly on the water for a beautiful sunset. We communicated with the staff by telephone, very friendly and in Covid times very good!

He would text me the room number and leave the key in the door. He said it would be fine anyway as he lived on the premises. When I arrived at about 1230 am neither of the things he promised had happened. The office was shut. From behind the office where he lived I could hear extremely loud rock music so he did not hear my phone calls or the door buzzer. I had to wait until a break in the music to bang on the windows. He staggered out, didn't even seem to know who I was or what I might want, saying he must have dozed off. And said he had forgotten to text me or leave the key in the door. He then gave me the key. No apology. Not exactly a smooth, welcoming check in.

The amenities however were old and the heater either did not work or did but there were no instructions and the cord did not reach a power point. The kettle needs attention and the room is cramped and TV not in a good position but the reason for the poor rating was the toilet was dirty and very obviously not cleaned.

- Michael (8/5): Pleasant motel in quiet street - An overnight stay as part of a longer trip. Nice modern room with friendly staff. We were a bit concerned by the name as it implied it might be in a noisy location but in fact a quiet residential street. Close to the Golf Club which we were told had nice food. It certainly had a nice location but our informant forgot to tell us that the kitchen shut at 7:00pm on Sunday so we will never know about the food! Fortunately an easy drive to the town centre

- ELILANG (2/5): Worst service - We were to be going here from interstate for a wedding but due to covid lock down 3 weeks ago we were unable to go The booking was made over the phone with Justin and payment done the same way the only email from the stated the dates and price nothing about refunds We canceled when lock down was announced and they said there would be no refund {$400} telling him why we had to cancel he said email the details which we did now after 3 emails no answer I find this so rude I understand times are difficult but we all need to support each other Lock down was the only reason for us to cancel we could not fly in or out Justin at no time told us no refund and Justin will not even respond to our emails Worst service ever I have traveled the world a lot we will be back in this area at a latter but will never think of staying here
- marionlI6388HT (2/5): No refund - I was to arrive in Feb for my niece's wedding from QLD. But due to covid 19 and lockdown in Vic I had to cancel. Rang 4 days before to cancel and get refund. Told to send email. Have now sent 3 emails!!! NO RESPONSE AND NO REFUND . VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING.
- Vivienne (6/5): Ocean Grove Stay. - The motel itself was a bit tired, like the bed we had. the motel was very clean and the shower was great, and it was within walking distance of the golf course which had a great restaurant. Overall not a bad place to stay for a couple of days, very reasonable.

- jeannieduggan (6/5): Old Style Motel - We stayed at the Boat Ramp Motel in late December/early January. We wanted to book 2 nights, but 4 nights was the minimum. I'm not sure if it was because of the time of the year. It is a pretty old style motel, but in a good location. It's a typical 70's style place, exposed brick walls etc. The place was clean, there was daily housekeeping, so the bathroom was kept clean, which is very important. The bed, while smaller than we are used to was fairly comfortable. The cost of $900 was quite a bit to pay for a 3 star motel, but I suppose the time of year had something to do with it. I assume it wouldn't be that much at other times.

Someone before us has obviously had a pie and sauce and put the plates away dirty and staff hadn't checked them. The bed was comfortable enough for a reasonable sleep.
