• Carol (10/5): Excellent stay thank you. Cosy, warm and comfortable. - The room far exceeded our expectations. They have been presented very well, obvious that there have been quality renovations and not just a lick of paint. The bathroom was especially well done. We arrived after 10pm as we were travelling and we were given very clear and prompt instructions on how to get our room key. It was also a lovely, peaceful view to wake up too.

• Lucy (5/5): A nice and quiet location, with comfy beds. But the cleaning and upkeep need a bit of work. - The location was nice and peaceful, and our room had a nice view of the hills across the road. It was something of a retro Australian visit really - with much of the fit outs from 70s or 80s motel decor. The beds were very comfortable so we thankfully slept well. The motel is a bit rundown and could really do with a facelift, or at least a bit more attention to detail. I felt cleaning could be a bit more thorough as there were bugs in the corners of the ceiling, a stain on the blanket, only one bowl in the room etc. I really don’t mind older style motels, but they have to be super clean.

It was a bit small , there were only 2 pillows available and they were a bit low. Considering the cost of the room it was expensive.

• IAN (6/5): - Room clean this is my 4th stay very convenient for town and the Hume Highway. Wifi is very poor and un reliable. There needs to be a proper lock on the doors. Just having a chain is not adequate. Wifi that works and a front door that locks from the inside.

• Thomas (4/5): Very disappointing and would never stay there again. - Nothing. When looking for overnight accommodation in Gundagai our decision was swayed by the photos of the new look bathroom attached to the Deluxe Queen room. Unfortunately, that’s the only feature of the room that was deluxe in any way. The room was extremely small with a lot of the space taken up by a corridor running from the front door to the back wall. The bed mattress had moved sideways so that it was hanging approximately 20cm over the edge of the bed base and tried to roll me on to the floor when it collapsed with any weight on it. There were no hangers in the wardrobe. To top everything off the smoke alarms in at least 4 rooms decided to wake up all the occupants at 2 am with everyone congregating outside wondering what was happening. One of the occupants tried to contact the emergency number with no success. Fortunately, it only happened once. All in all, the room was grossly overrated and nowhere near the money we paid for it.

Unlike some of the other motels, it's on a hillside with pleasant views across the valley. Friendly reception, quiet location, close to eateries in the main street of Gundagai near the bottom of the same hill.

• Robert (7/5): Comfortable, clean and quiet. All we could hope for in a stopover. - Motel rooms are old but all you need. Beds are comfortable, room was clean and has a nice pool. Not really walking distance to the town centre but it's only 3 or 4 minute drive. Manager/owner was very friendly. Great place to stay if like us you are driving from Sydney to Melbourne. We have stayed here before and will no doubt stay again one day. There wasn't anything we didn't like.

Don’t expect breakfast despite the signs advertising it. - The air conditioning in the rooms There is a sign for a breakfast room but there was no staff to let me in or help. I don’t even know if they do breakfast anymore , if they don’t then they should remove the signs as it’s very confusing.
