Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The rooms were very clean and well presented,a very comfortable bed
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location is good, restaurants nearby, a grocery store about a block away.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The reception desk was able to accommodate me switching to a ground floor and a late check in
- Joseph (10/5): Good - Very amazing place to stay in Cairns.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not for me - The accommodation itself was fine, however the all night until 4am screaming and running up and down the hallway and stairs by others was unacceptable, if there was an onsite manager they declined to address the issue.
- Alexander (6/5): - Very noisy late at night- not sure if guests or visitors were causing the noise dragging tables and chairs around, arguing and swearing until another guest yelled at them to be quiet. Stayed here a few times before and not had this problem.
- Greg (8/5): Good value for money and convenient location... - I stayed at the Adobe Motel for six nights recently. My stay was agreeable and comfortable.
The after-hours arrival arrangement worked flawlessly, the room was noticeably clean, it was comfortable enough, motel staff were welcoming and helpful, wi-fi was reliable after logged on, location is convenient for walking around Cairns, and quiet enough to sleep okay at night. It was good value for money, and I recommend this motel if stopping at Cairns.
- John (6/5): Stop over on work trip - I chose the motel because of the value for money. Cheaper thann most. Àbout a 15 minute wLk into town which was nice.
Bit noisy
- Julie (6/5): rough n ready - very basic, cldnt tell me where the hotel was on map! got disturbed on 3rd day of stay with raised eyebrows saying i shld be out, i paid for 5 days! they tried to blame computor glich, no chairs to sit by the pool, very average, smokers sitting at my window!
- Trish (2/5): Do not stay here - Ray is not interested.
1. The place is filthy. Dust and dirt all over skirting boards, power points, power switches.
2. No blankets are supplied.
3. Air conditioner doesnt work cannot operate panel.
4. Stains all over the walls and doors, like someone has splashed tea or drinks on the walls
5. Window doesn't have a lock
6. People down the verandah were up with kids screaming until 3.30am
7. The rubbish man turned up at 5.30am and dragged the plastic skip down the narrow driveway and back, waking everyone one
8. There is only about 6 car parks or park out on the road.
9. The drive way is so narrow you have to reverse down the driveway
10. NO HOT WATER in the shower or the sink
11. Fridge was dirty
12. Only 2 cups with teaspoons sitting on top of them supplied
13. No microwave available.
Just a filthy grubby place.
- Tony (2/5): - Not a nice hotel, very out dated, not very clean, paint peeling off the walls. The floor is dusty, as if it hadn't been moped.
The place is quite noisy. Won't be back.
- brian (4/5): inexpensive for a reason. - staff were friendly that's why i gave a two. the room was dated, stains on the chairs etc. time for an update. parking is tight - bedtime and no blankets and its july, reception was shut. fortunately i had a sleeping bag in the car.
noise from the business next door kept me awake. i will not return.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hotle is fine for an over night stop. Bit out of the city but close if you want to walk, wouldn't want to walk at night though. There is a night owl and few cafes on the next block. The hotel was dirty, my towel had a mark and the pillow had some sort of stain. The internet is good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to the city, friendly staff and a comfortable bed. What I needed
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very good value for money, would definitely stay again
- Josie (8/5): - Room was comfortable only wrong was the tv did not have a good reception
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Two problems: 1) no wifi; 2) Manager had no record of WOTIF booking made approx. 3 hours prior to my call to confirm, as a consequence I made another booking with c/card and ended up being billed twice. I am awaiting a refund but there seems to be a communication problem between WOTIF and management.
- Silke (8/5): Adobe stay - Nice comfy room. I arrived after hours but I had easy access to the safe to retrieve the key. Parking is not really good there especially with a 4x4. So I used the parking strip on Sheridan Road which is ok. Internet access is a great bonus
- Roti (10/5): Nice Hotel - Hotel was nice, staff friendly room clean with TV & fridge.
Had a comfy stay Thanks Adobe
- Lyn (10/5): Return guests. Good, clean motel. - Room was lovely and cool when we arrived.....so different from most places where the room takes ages to cool after being closed and super heated by Cairns hot summers. Beds are comfy and everything was clean and crisp. Friendly staff....could not ask for more.
- Verified traveler (6/5): No information at check in - No information provided re housekeeping request, how to use wifi, check out time. Staff unhelpful.
- Charlie (8/5): Down to earth, and honest accommodation - The Abode Motel is an honest accommodation that delivers more than you expect. Staff went above and beyond, amazing to chat with and give recommendations. I had to arrive a lot earlier than expected and they were very accommodating, ensuring a room was well cleaned and cooled down on short notice. The rooms are older, but the linen and towels were clean, crisp and comfortable.
- Don (2/5): Worst place - Pay for what you get pay extra and stay somewhere decent..
- janis (6/5): - Very handy to hospital and esplanade very good restaurant on premises
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location - I had a lovely overnight stay, very quiet and comfortable room
and close to all shops.Thank uou
- Greg (6/5): Only for an overnight stay so price was important. - Just up for the day to get a tow bar fitted. Just up for the day to get a tow bar fitted. - susan (6/5): It is what it is! - The hotel was reasonable but really needs updating! The staff were friendly and helpful, it's ok if you just need a shower and bed for the night, the air con and fan worked well!
- Peter (8/5): Great location - A convienient location close to the airport.
Room was spacious and comfortable.
Great restaurant at the front. Will stay again if I'm in Cairns
- Stu and Joyce (6/5): It is what it is.. - No point sugar coating it reasonable little 1960s motel on a main road near the airport with guests cars parked outside you window if your on the ground floor the planes start flying overhead around 6am. Other than that the room was OK the restaurant on the expensive side and very few car parking spaces...for the money OK.. it has air con but the maintenance is falling way behind..drfinatly overdue for a refurb.
ed
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good for a weary traveller who needs a warm shower - One night stay to catch the next flight. Budget conscious travel. Good.
- Dez (10/5): - Well i never excepted some that cheap would be that great the staff was very friendly always asked if we need anything always willing to help if they could i would definitely stay here again
- Verified traveler (6/5): - There was a few issues with booking in and the room had some faults as well
- norm (6/5): over night only - very old but served its purpose for the price only stayed over night on route to the gulf
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable and easy to get to from the airport. - Great place for first night recovery from long travel time through several airports.
- maria (10/5): - The gentleman at the front desk is absolutely wonderful. He made my mother and I feel very welcome. Was incredibly helpful with whatever we needed. Highly recommend!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very comfortable bed - Comfortable room and value for money. Good for short stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): On the main strip to town ,airport, beach etc - We stayed for convenience and we chose with our package as it was cheap ,as long as we had a bed and a shower ,all was good ! The pool was lovely and clean etc ,
- Jane (10/5): Good Budget Option - perfect for a short stay pre or post flight.. this I an excellent low cost option Friendly, low cost, efficient.
- Geraldine (6/5): - Arrived late.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The stay was alright.
- Lisa (8/5): Hotel close to cairns base hospital & a good price - Parking a bit tight but you can park out on the street. Restaurant nice. Takeaway can be ordered & taken to the room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Was only an overnight stay but suited my completely, clean and tidy.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The stay was ok. Be aware that there's no amenities provided. The check out time is 9.30am and I found it was a bit too early. Normal 10am would be better.
- David (10/5): CLEAN & VERY COMFORTABLE - We had a fantastic nights sleep, which really is all you need. Although the motel is not a modern one it is clean, comfortable and the staff are welcoming.
- Angus (6/5): Good location . - No microwave no toaster we stayed a weak more a place you would stay for a night.
- A (8/5): Cheap and pleasant stay - We stayed overnight as we had an early flight following day and hotel is Close to airport. Simple process for late check-in and early check-out. Room was clean. Parking inside was a little tricky as its a very small space so you need to reverse all the way back out if you go in! But other than that, very happy with our stay.
- David (10/5): very convinienent and good price. - Always very friendly and all the staff are willing to help if needed.
- David (10/5): Very clean - I have stayed at this place a number of times it is within walking distance to everything and i will be staying there again
- Jason (6/5): Cheap but ok. - Clean and quite the night i stayed here. Will probably stay again if i need a room.
- Bruce (4/5): Not worth it. - This was one of the noisiest motels I've stayed at in Australia and nearly anywhere else I've traveled. If you must stay here DO NOT let them put you in a room on the street (which is a very busy street). They do not mention in the listing that wifi is not free, and it's fairly expensive and not good service. The whole motel needs updating, has uncomfortable beds, and I would definitely suggest looking elsewhere even if it costs more.
- Alexis (8/5): Close to city centre - The hotel was low cost but surprisingly was really nice to stay in. The room was large and contained its own private bathroom which included a cupboard to hang clothes. The shower pressure was AMAZING and one of the best parts. The bed was quite firm but still alright to sleep in and pillows soft. The room was also very clean. Our one major problem was parking. The first issue stemmed that, while you could park inside, trying to get out was hard. You had to reverse through a gap with maybe a foot on the side of the car but with poles, speed bumps and people walking in behind you while you're reversing. When we arrived were able to park directly in front of our room which was great. We left and returned and parked on the street as it was easy to come and go. Luckily as some had parked next to the park we used but was over the lines and taking two parks. We left and returned at 7 and faced a problem. We now couldn't park inside nor on the street as the hotel has a pizza restaurant (quite expensive) out the front and there was no street parking whatsoever. We had to park across the road which has 6 lanes of traffic to cross. That was largest let down.
In the end we left quite happy though. The room was cheap, clean and staff friendly. I would happily stay there again.
- Greg (2/5): Awfull - Rooms not clean and in bad state of repair. People stay up to 2am talking loudly (making it not even good as a one night journey break). Parking puts your car in risk of damage.
- Verified traveler (6/5): good value and excellent location - stayed six nights ,only one night very noisy. room very clean.
- David (6/5): You get what you pay for! This is a budget option - Great for the price! Youd need a hire bike or car unless you LOVE walking. The room is clean and tidy with a nice compliment of badly outdated compliments! If you like a quiet night sleep then DONT book here. Neighbors were very loud and inconsiderate and I there were noises like someone was renorvating upstairs while I tried to sleep.
BUDGET - Budget !
- Vicki (6/5): Close to facilities - Motel was fine. The entrance was a challenge as was the parking - but at least there was off street parking. Room was comfortable as were the beds and pillows. All more than satisfactory. Would certainly stay there again. There is also a restaurant on site - Italian food. No breakfast available there though,
- Barbara (10/5): My one night at Adobe Motel - When I arrived I was greeted by a very friendly guy,
who gave me the key and booked a taxi for me for
the following morning at 4AM to the airport.
The room wa spotlessly clean and the bed very
comfortable. I was very impressed and will tell my
friends and I will be happy to stay there in the future.
Thank you.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value for money - Good value for money their close to restraints and the hospital
- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to CBD - Enjoyed the motel. I could just live there for the duration of my stay. I had a choice to have my bed made or not.
- Connie (6/5): - Helpful reception
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Conviently close enough to city , very pleasant staff.
- Michael (4/5): Adobe - Stayed just overnight.
Room is dated, and in need of some maintenance - toilet door in our room didn't easily close due to the Timber of the door frame and on the door expanding.
Bed was extremely hard, and although i have stayed in many motels and managed to sleep, on my stay this time i couldnt get to sleep.
Car parking : is a nightmare!!! Tight to get in and out of, to the extent you may want to just park on the street. Parking between 9-5 is only 2 hours, so you may be fined through these times.
Unless you are amongst the first to park at motel and back in, you will have to back car out of the tight carpark as there is no room to turn any car in the small area available.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Stayed hare as it was close to hospital, was given a room on the ground floor which was excellent and although we could have eaten anywhere we ate a the in house restaurant almost every night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great budget hotel - Good location, off street parking...friendly staff and clean rooms. For $65 a night it's great value as well.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Place - It's a great place to stay. And easy access to C.B.D. and the motel is very comfortable. They make you feel at home.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Accommodation while on business - Reasonably comfortable for the price paid. Room was not spectacular but was clean and tidy.
- James (8/5): - We arrived late and the key was readily available and the room was clean and well presented
- MTherese (8/5): Good Week Stay - Had a good weeks stay at this motel - close to airport and all Cairns North activities. Cannot complain about anything. The price was good and the staff were friendly. Would come back and stay again.
- katy (10/5): Very good! - The room is clear! Reception is very nice n helpful!!!! I love this motel!
- not again (6/5): Very noisy. Guests fighting and yelling at night - Noisy tenants fighting that seems like semi permanent tenants at midnight
When leaving it was great having staff stand behind me on stairs watching me struggle down the stairs with 2 suitcases and a long rod tube. Imagine them saying " here let me help you "
- ANTHONY (6/5): Budget Cairns - Fine for our transit, no-frills one night stay. Off street parking tight for larger cars
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent place to stay, central to everything - Only downer is carpark small for big car getting in and out but at least could park on main road
- Jenny (6/5): location was great, staff was exellent - We had two rooms for a week and the location was great! The staff was so nice, friendly and helpful! The manager even put a microwave in the room so we can use it. The water presure in the showers was awesome and so strong!! The rooms were big and comfortable. It was loud with all the people coming and going.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Handy to airport - Simple, uncomplicated - excellent for one night stay before catching plane.
- Leonie (10/5): happy customers - just to get away for a night
- Trish (4/5): - The room was basic but clean. The bed was very firm and not enough pillows to sit and watch TV. A hand towel and a tea towel would have been helpful. No way to clean and dry cups after having a drink.
- Theresa S (6/5): Basic, but good value hotel in Cairns - We chose the Adobe as we wanted a budget place to stay for one night in Cairns which was close to the airport for an early morning flight. It was very cheap on WOTIF, but I checked the blogs and the write ups were that it was basic, but clean and comfortable. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful - I left a black jumper inside our room accidentally. When I called from the airport, Joseph kindly found it and then posted it to me the next day. Thank you very much Joseph!!
Adobe is a budget hotel, with dated furnishings (and interesting colours). But it was clean and a decent size - queen bed and a single bed (both very comfortable). The air-conditioning looked new and worked well (was a very steamy night) and was quiet. Was also a flat screen tv and a small refrigerator. The shower and separate toilet were both clean and the water was good and hot. There is a swimming pool but we didn't use it - it is a bit weird, as the Italian restaurant within the motel has tables right next to the pool.
It is on a main road in Cairns, but the motel rooms are set back from the road the we didn't find the road noise a problem. The Italian restaurant at the front (Little Ricardo's) is really good and has very friendly and helpful staff. It was pretty full on the night, but they fit us in for a great meal. Noise from restaurant patrols can be an issue if the room is close to it, so ask for a room further back.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not bad eh - They receptionist rang me at 9:20 to remind me that check out was at 9:30 which I thought was a bit much considering there was a massive sign on the door reminding me of that fact.
- Val (8/5): comfortable motel near wedding we were attending. - Helpful staff. Quiet surroundings. Tricky parking lot.
- kathy (8/5): Budget accomodation - The room is resonable clean, our room is on the first level, a bit noisy from outside, expecially when people start to start the car, talking outside, try to avoid the first level, as there are chairs and tables just outside of the window, people may sit there and chatting. The location Is a bit far from Center, walking 25 minutes to Center.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Night at Adobe Motel - It was alright , quite loved it.
- Bob (6/5): Close to shops - Ok has friendly staff and like the area the Staff are friendly
The room is priced accordingly and have nothing more to add
- Verified traveler (4/5): Basic - The car park is terrible, and if you drive in and find theres nowhere to park, you have to reverse out a very narrow alley onto a busy street. Theres lots of noise from plumbing and people bashing bins etc. Its supposed to be non smoking but people just sit outside and smoke which makes it unpleasant to have the windows open.
- Verified traveler (6/5): walking distance to the esplanade - clean, modest facility with pleasant and obliging staff;rooms are spacious and quiet despite being close the the main highway
- Frank (8/5): Don't Park in the Car Park!! - The car park is appalling. Very narrow to get into forwards, but then you have to reverse out. I scraped the front of my car on the wall it was so tight to get into a car bay.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Would never stay here again. - Noisiest hotel ever. Doors slamming all night, cars coming and going, people talking loudly in parking lot at 6 am. Worst sleep ever.
- Freddie (4/5): Old noisy motel - Basic comfortable room, absolutely poor off street parking, inter room noise level terrible, outside noise level terrible with people coming and going at all times.Booked in for two nights on room service for second day, first and last stay.
- Wendy (10/5): Good, clean, easy walk into CBD - Perfect clean budget accomodation when day tripping and generally only using room to sleep in. Easy walk into town and was on all our coach transfer routes.
- Marilyn (8/5): Great Location, friendly helpful staff. - We enjoyed our stay at Adobe Motel, great amenities, helpful staff and central location. Nice Restaurant and swimming pool on premises also.
- Verified traveler (8/5): nice hotel - very nice hotel, right on the highway (quiet highway), near the airport
rooms are spacious, clean and organized
you get your own washroom and you can basically go anywhere from the hotel
restaurants and bar streets are like 20 minutes away by foot
- Julian (8/5): Great price Motel - Good size room, comfortable bed. Shops and good selection of restaurants nearby. About 15-20 minutes walk to Cairns CBD. Joe is a great help for advice. It's not the Ritz but for the price it is excellent value for money, recommended
- Verified traveler (8/5): Excellent value for money - Excellent value for money. Have rated hotel excellent on basis of cost. Would not recommend for long stay because a bit noisy outside in evening but ideal for a night or two.
- Greg (6/5): Good value and ok - Rooms are maybe $5 - $10 cheaper than most similar accommodation. That is probably because the rooms not serviced more than twice a week, maybe less (never stayed more than three days) - you want tea, coffee or toilet paper you ask. That said the rooms are generally comfortable enough, location ok, reasonably quiet etc. Everything you would expect in your standard motel room.
- Chris (8/5): Affordable, Clean and Pleasant Accommodation - I stayed at the Adobe Motel for one night. I have stayed at the Adobe Motel once before but in a different room. On both occasions, the staff at reception have been friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and the price reasonable. Both of the rooms I stayed in were equipped with an on-suite, large flat screen TV, small refrigerator and basic tea and coffee making facilities. Furthermore, the air-conditioning was cold (an essential requirement during the summer months) and there was ample on-site parking. There is a pool in the complex which appeared to be well maintained but I did not swim in it.
- J & L (10/5): CLEAN Budget Hotel - Stayed at Adobe 2 nights pre and post Dive trip.
it's not a 5 star nor does it pretend to be. great clean rooms overall (my wife reminds me that she found some mold on a shower curtain) unfortunately we forgot to tell the staff. I'm sure they would have quickly replaced it with another because their service was that good. very accommodating and helpful. would highly recommend it to other travelers who want to spend their money on experiences rather than a place to sleep.
- Verified traveler (6/5): 9:30 checkout!! - Very limited parking and a 9:30 checkout not 10 like most places in cairns. Rooms are clean, bathrooms are in need of an update but for the price it's ok.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - easy to check in though I arrived late. Has a large alarm clock and large TV ,.
Has towels and soap readily available
- Bill (8/5): good overnighter - Good overnight stay. No problems. Parking space tight but manageable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great value - Perfect for the price. Good value, close enough to the city and the airport, staff was great and let us leave our stuff in storage for a late flight at no extra cost. The standard check out time of 930 was a bit early
- Alistair (8/5): -
walking to distance to all you need and good overnighting airport
- Belinda (10/5): -
